AHIMA is introducing a very exciting opportunity at the 2018 AHIMA Convention in Miami, FL! AHIMA will be launching a volunteer program for current students or new graduates to attend the 2018 AHIMA convention with all expenses paid (within the AHIMA travel policy guidelines). The selected volunteers will be assigned activities throughout the convention. This is a great opportunity for our future leaders to become more engaged in the profession! Volunteer activities may include:
• Registration
• Info Booth
• Door Monitors
• Stuff bags
• Bag and badge pickup
• Pre-meeting support
• Career Theater and Fair
• Introducing speakers
• Foundation/Auction
*Additional tasks as they arise

Requirements


    To be eligible for selection to participate in the New Graduate Volunteer Program at Convention, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must be an active member of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) at the time of the application deadline. JOIN NOW

  • Applicants must have graduated from a (CAHIIM) accredited Associate, Baccalaureate or Post Baccalaureate degree in Health Information management, or a Graduate degree in HIM or Health Informatics and had a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0) or 4.0 (out of 5.0)

  • Applicants must have graduated between May 1, 2016 and January 1, 2018.

  • Applicants must have an RHIT or RHIA credential.

  • Applicants must submit a current resume.

  • Applicants must have a recommendation from a HIM Educator from the program from which they graduated.

  • Applicants must respond to a question provided in 300 words or less.

  • Applicants must submit a self-recorded 3 minute video response to questions provided and upload it to YouTube (Instructions are provided in the application) .

  • Applicants must submit a completed online application with all required elements marked as "Received" by the deadline, April 30, 2018, 11:59pm Central Time. Applications with "Pending" or "Failed" elements will not be considered.

    3. Locate and save electronic copies of required transcripts and resume.
    4. Select a past educator to provide a recommendation.
    5. Review the application question and prepare your response.
    6. Review the application questions required for the video response, prepare and upload to YouTube following the attached instructions.
    7. You will be able to save and return to the application as many times before the application closing date.
