Heather Locklear’s psychiatric hold extended for two weeks

Heather Locklear‘s psychiatric hold has reportedly been extended for two more weeks.

According to TMZ, who first reported the news, the 5150 hold was originally only supposed to be three days, but has been extended for further treatment.

A source told People, “Heather is under a 5250 hold for 14 days. The doctors need more time to assess her and the situation. During that 14 days, the attorney and the doctor will go to court and ask for a conservatorship and under that conservatorship, she is assigned a guardian. Overall, it gives them time to assess the patient.”

“Heather needed additional help,” the source continued. “Three days is not enough time to come up with a plan of support. And now they need to figure out what that plan of support is.”

Locklear, 57, was placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold on Nov. 18 after her therapist determined she was having a mental breakdown. The extension means that she is on a 5250 hold now.

A rep for the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department told Page Six at the time, “Deputies responded to a medical call at Ms. Locklear’s residence yesterday afternoon. There was no crime, and we have no additional information to release.”

This is the second time this year Locklear has been placed on a psychiatric hold. The first hold was in June after she allegedly threatened to shoot herself because she thought her fiancé was cheating on her.
