Vanessa Redgrave, Joely Richardson and Jonathan Rhys Meyers completed filming Henry James' The Aspern Papers last summer. It's listed as a 2018 film over at IMDB, but I haven't seen a actual release date yet.
There was a movie version of Snowpiercer just a couple years ago (2014?) with Chris Evans. Why are they remaking it?!

Because.
Such is the way of the world.

Isn't there a movie already for Snowpiercer: The Escape?? The one starred by Chris Evans. Are they the same or completely different stories? (Even if both settings are in a train)
The Haunting of Hill House!!! How exciting, although nothing will compare to the experience of reading the book!
I wish 50 shades would just fade away. Such garbage it is!
I wish someone would make Dragonriders of Pern now. With today's special effects... would be wonderful.
and yes, Snowpiercer? The one with Tilda Swinton was just fine!

"We Have Always Lived in the Castle" by Shirley Jackson was also adapted into a movie, but there's no word on a release date yet.

They must not have had much of a budget because they filmed in my neighborhood. They sent out a letter ahead of time asking us not to park our car out in the driveway that day because it's too new for the movie.

The Meg sounds like one of those movies that will be so stupid I just have to watch it. I love cheesy shark movies.
I plan on reading Fahrenheit 451 and Haunting of Hill House later this year and had no idea HBO and Netflix were doing new adaptations. I saw an old adaption of Fahrenheit 451 which I loved so I’m hyped AF for that one (though I’m gonna have to wait until my library has a DVD or until it’s added to Amazon Prime)!
I saw the ads for Peter Rabbit, doesn’t look like my kinda thing though I’d love to see a proper horror movie or book with animals rising up and torturing humans (I know, twisted but that’s just how my brain works, besides the guy did get his hands stuck in freaking bear traps).
I never heard of 12 Strong though I’m definitely adding to my reading list.
I can’t believe they’re doing A Wrinkle in Time again (though I hated the book so...).
For comic books: WHO ELSE IS HYPED FOR INFINITY WAR AND DEADPOOL 2! WOO!

I enjoyed your preview, thanks; especially the one self-published that was picked up for hard copy! I edited a nonfictional novel for Frank Ketoret titled, A Worthy Rock. Not self published, it exists as a blog format, but has table of contents for three “books” the first of which is a children’s story and sets the fictional theme: The third book can be read first, then as back stories and character development. There is a fourth story not published because our computer shut down (windows 95) Frank Ketoret is a retired journalist who writes to biblical themes.

John Le Carre's Little Drummer Girl is also being made into a movie with Florence Pugh (Lady Macbeth). It was originally a movie with Diane Keaton.
Looking forward to seeing 'The Black Donnellys' based on the book by Thomas P. Kelley. The pilot of this compelling and spirited story has been written and is now being pitched to different networks.
Another TV series in the making is 'God Fearing Man'. This is an abandoned project from the late great Stanley Kubrick. Based on the book 'I Stole $16,000,000' by Thomas P. Kelley, this project has been brought back to life by Philip Hobbs and Steve Lanning. Michael C. Hall has been asked to play the role of Herbert Emerson Wilson, the notorious safecracker. These books can be seen and are available from www.darlingterracepublishing.com

Also add to the list: "The Terror" by Dan Simmons -- coming to AMC this spring as a multi-episode series directed by Ridley Scott.
August cannot arrive soon enough for me as I eagerly await the movie of Kevin Kwan's Crazy Rich Asians on August 17!!! Putting the date on my calendar now.
