Lincoln: Catching sight of my neighbor’s ass in the hallway the day I moved in more than piqued my interest. It's not just the body that has my attention. She's mysterious, hiding behind sunglasses that cover most of her face. I ask her name and try to get her to talk on the rare occasions I see her in the hallway, but every time she ignores me and turns away. I need to know more about this woman, I can't get her out of my head. Do I keep trying? Do I keep asking her name?
Ashton: I’m barely holding on. I’m always on the edge, even after all these years. I live every day the same and I can’t change who I am no matter how much I try. My new neighbor won't give up asking my name and trying to make conversation with me. If he knew me he wouldn't keep trying. I'm a lost cause.
Warning: Some people might consider this a Dark Romance.

“GIRL, write YOUR book dammit.
Who cares what people think?

I was conflicted about rating this book because there were pieces that I liked. This story started off okay but quickly went downhill for me. The connection between the main characters was thin and seemed to be nothing but convenient due to them living across the hall from one another. Somehow the connection quickly snowballed into an epic affair of infatuation that helped to cure one of the characters of his insomnia and the other character of her low self-esteem and distorted vision.

MrRdB.gif

Reading this book was sort of like reading a reverse beauty and the beast story. In this book, the girl was ugly and scarred. The guy was gorgeous. There was lots of cutesy dialogue. Added into the mix was a therapist who yelled at her patient, cried in front of her patient, and then revealed painful personal secrets to her patient...

MEcHC.gif

Not much about this story was very convincing but there were comedic moments sprinkled in. Unfortunately, the dialogue was often dramatic:

“I’m not broken, Linc,” she started, dropping her hand from the mirror. “I’m shattered. I shattered into a million pieces that turned to dust and got swept away in a breeze. There’s nothing left. There’s nothing to fix. I’m just … incomplete.”

◈ “I’m falling in love with you, Ash; and if you let me love you, let me in, I know that I could breathe life into you again.”

MKYEW.gif

◈ The word "beautiful" was used 54 times and I rolled my eyes almost every single time at the context in which the word was used.

◈ The upside? The writing style was simple and there were interesting bits about OCD included. Hopefully other readers will enjoy this story more than I did.

A Flaw So Beautiful is a survivor story. It shows that even though it may take "forever" there is a light to be seen at the end of the tunnel. Healing isn't an instant fix. It's a process and it has ups, downs, and back steps. We all heal at our own pace.

I really appreciated Ashton's set backs. The reality is it may never be ok but she was trying. I find it refreshing when stories are more realistic in their trauma timelines.

I read I the blurb that this might be considered a dark romance. It is NOT. It touches on a past trauma but is not a dark romance- in case you were leery of the term dark.

This is probably one of the most realistic portrayals of this trope that I’ve seen. The heroine has suffered unspeakable tragedy, and the road to recovery is far from easy, with many setbacks along the way. There’s no flip that’s switched where the heroine is suddenly “better”. Even in the epilogue it’s clear that she’s not yet back to “normal” despite it being set years later.
Because of this, the romance almost takes a backseat to the heroine’s personal growth, even though without Lincoln, Ashton would probably still be locked in her apartment, trapped in a routine she designed to keep the flimsy hold she had on her sanity.
I loved this story, and it definitely wrenched a lot of emotions out of me. I can usually binge a book in an evening, but this one I needed to take breaks and read lighter stories in between. Nevertheless, I recommend this book if you’re looking for a visceral and realistic read in this trope!

Alora Kate continues to surprise and captivate her readers with each novel she puts out! Each novel I read of hers, I swear it is her best yet, and then she comes out with her next novel, and it is even better than the last. Watching this author grow has been amazing and I am so excited to see the projects she is working on this year.
A Flaw So Beautiful is a different story than what Alora has put out in the past. This story is dark in nature, emotional, and raw. The characters, Ashton and Lincoln, are complex and pull the reader immediately into their world. The story is natural and centers around Ashton's past and the uncertainty of her future. Alora gives a voice to those like Ashton, who have been through hell and back and are now looking for hope.
This is a solid 5-star book for me, and truly, the best Alora Kate has put out in her writing career. If you are a fan of Alora Kate's, then please don't miss this one. And if you are new to Alora Kate and wondering if this book is for you, I assure you, one-click it, you won't be disappointed!

A Flaw so Beautiful blew me away with how much of an incredible read that it was. I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading this because I didn’t read what it was about because the cover of the book immediately intrigued me. This book was an incredible read for a number of reasons, one of these reasons is the way that the story slowly told the story of the two main characters, but also about the way that someone can face the darkness of the world and go through something truly horrible and survive it. I didn’t know what to expect reading this book, but I found that I was drawn into the story as soon as I started reading it. I absolutely loved the characters within the story Ashton and Lincoln. I found that they are both inspirational characters that had their own strength to overcome their own dark pasts.

Ashton had experienced a horrific incident in her past that she still carried around with her everyday making it hard for her to live her life. Despite all this she is a strong character because she survived the worst things that can happen to a person.

Lincoln is the type of character that you wish wasn’t just a character within a book because I think everyone needs their own Lincoln in their lives. He was an incredible understanding, inspirational and supportive character. I loved the way that he supported Ashton throughout the book.

A flaw so beautiful is about Lincoln who moves into anew apartment complex and discovers the beautiful woman living near him. She is a complete mystery that always hides behind her clothes and her sunglasses. Ashton hides from the pain of the world and thinking that she is no good for anyone.

This book was an incredible real story that really goes into detail about the healing and journey of surviving from one of the most horrible things to happen to someone. The story was a deeply emotional read that was written very well by the author.

I really wavered between 4 and 5 stars for this, I'm not one to do the whole 4.25 stars though so 4 stars it is..
This was a pretty difficult read, it's heartbreaking to imagine anyone going through this kind of horror so it really is a tear jerker, I loved Lincoln and how he wouldn't give up on Ashton.
I found the first half of this book was paced really well but the second half seemed pretty rushed, I felt like it missed out a lot of her better progress toward the end of book and skipped straight to years later, I would have enjoyed this more had I been given the chance to experience those good times, and yes I know it would have made the book longer but I honestly wouldn't have minded, I literally picked this up and didn't put it down till I finished! I would have happily kept reading so that's why this went from a 5 star to 4.

I went into this book thinking it was something totally different then what I started reading. I didn't realize that I would be taken on a beautiful journey about suffering and overcoming and trusting in someone to help you be the person you once was.

Alora Kate delivered a heart breaking story and she did it so stunningly that I was I forgot all about what I thought I was suppose to be reading. This isn't a light story, but its definitely a story worth reading.

I wasn't sure what to expect before I read this book but I'm glad I picked it.
I really enjoyed the story and although parts of Ashton's past are horrific I would class this as dark and that's because although we find out what happened to her it's not gone into with much detail. Lincoln is a very sweet loving man just ignore his stalking at the start.
I would have liked more detail about their budding romance, because of her past I felt we could have done with more detail about their intimate relationship and how they both dealt with it.
Sometimes patience and the softly softly approach works. This is a story about never giving up and how learning to lean on others doesn't make you weak.

I went into reading A Flaw So Beautiful with no expectations and no idea of what I was about to read. It took me only the first page to get hooked on this book. Within the smallest number of pages read, I found myself completely falling in love with the characters of Lincoln and Ashton.

Who were Lincoln and Ashton? They were two individuals who had both suffered tremendous heartache, suffering and unimaginable misery in their lives. Although the trauma that they both suffered was vastly different, they were both left with scars and memories that haunted them every day. The only difference was that Lincoln was able to pull himself out of his misery and find love, light, and joy in the world. His sister being one of the key reasons he was able to do that, along with his boss and best friend, Nick.

Ashton on the other hand, she decided the only way to deal with the horrors that she experienced in her life were to retreat deep into the darkness and live an extremely simple and planned out life. She lived a life where she had contact with her brother and her therapist, other than those two people, Ashton couldn’t stomach dealing with anyone else otherwise she would spiral into a crippling panic attack. Any change to her schedule or routine resulted in a traumatic panic attack or passing out.

It wasn’t until Lincoln noticed Ashton in the hallway of their apartment building that their lives began to change. Every Monday, Lincoln looked forward to seeing and speaking with Ashton, even if she didn’t respond to him and hid behind her massive sunglasses. Little by little, Lincoln managed to force a small opening in for himself in Ashton’s life. He knew there was something about her that made him want to talk to her more. He needed to learn more about her. Despite giving him much to go on and minimal interaction, Lincoln never gave up on Ashton.

Eventually Lincoln and Ashton had a breakthrough and began communicating. Lincoln, despite Ashton continually pushing him away, didn’t give up. The two managed to form the unlikeliest of bonds. Ashton found the ability to open up to Lincoln. She was able to tell him and show him things only her brother or therapist knew about. Lincoln returned her openness by revealing the pain and trauma he suffered in his life. A bond grew between the two.

A Flaw So Beautiful is about far more than your standard boy meets girl, girl rejects boy but eventually likes the boy. A Flaw So Beautiful is a story about going through an intense trauma in life but coming out on the other side a survivor. There may be physical, emotional, and mental scars left in the wake of whatever one underwent, but the important part is making it to the other side, alive and pushing to leave the trauma behind in an effort to have a happier life. A life filled with success, family, friends, and the trauma left in the past. A Flaw So Beautiful is about taking control of one’s life no matter what and saying I deserve more and I’m going to have more than the cards life has dealt me up to the point of the trauma.

I highly recommend anyone that has ever faced an intense trauma or hardship in their life to read this book. I recommend anyone who has had a more or less “normal” life to read this book to see how trauma can impact another person’s life. Basically, I recommend everyone read this book!

description
I absolutely loved this story. It is a story about survival and what people go through in order to keep themselves sane after a majorly traumatic events. Lincoln and Ashton go through different things, but seemed to cope in almost the same way.
After Ashton's torturous event she stay home and keeps to herself. Never going out because of what the "Devil" did to her. She sees herself as hideous, wants nothing to do with anything outside of her apartment, and is still living in the past unable to let go.
Lincoln moves in and has his own demons. He felt as though he was the reason for a family tragedy and it took years for his sister to get through to him. Never giving up can be tiring, but is something that has to be done.
When these two first meet it is always a one sided conversation with Lincoln doing the talking. When he witnesses Ashton have a panic attack then later talks with her brother, he finds out little pieces of her story. He feels the need to help her see the light once again. Ashton and Lincoln go through a lot together. Lincoln won't give up and Ashton might finally be able to let someone in just a little.
As I said this was an amazing story. You never know what some people have gone through, or what they deal with to be able to continue on with their lives.

No one's life is perfect, and this book is all about that. Ashton has been through hell and back, and all she wants to do is hide. She hides in her apartment, hided by her clothing, and pushed everyone away. Lincoln is Ashton's neighbor, and will stop at nothing to get to know her. He is caring and so very understanding.

I did enjoy this book. It was a bit hard for me to get into, and the pace was a bit slow. But I enjoyed the characters, and the story was nice.

This was an incredible emotional journey I got to witness between the leading characters Ashton and Lincoln. Painful at times, both characters are intensely"flawed" scarred, and then some.
How do you get past those horrible memories and try to live? Lincoln with help begins to "live" but for Ashton, she just goes through the motions, not really living, just a girl trying to hide in her big sunglasses, until Lincoln slowly peels each tender layer away.
It's an emotional rollercoaster, with so many ups and downs, it'll tear and tug no matter how strong you are
It's one of those books that will tend to stay with you for a very long time to come.

This book gave me all kinds of feelings and emotions. It has a lot of moments that leave you speechless, but in a "I just can't believe this!" Kind of way. The author brings out the dark side of the world, but also the the beauty and the light. She makes its relatable in one way or another. READ this amazing book!!! Five stars all the way!!!

I received an ARC for my honest review.

Lincoln is one determined man. He wants to get to know his new neighbour, and nothing is going to stop him. Ashton tries her best to ignore Lincoln and scare him off, but she's not having much luck. Ashton is different, she's broken, she hides away behind her clothes and sunglasses and her apartment door. She's been through so much and hasn't let herself heal. She's surviving, barely, and now Lincoln comes and turns her orderly life upside down.

Lincoln is a brilliant character nothing seems to phase him, and he always finds the good in everything. My heart broke for Ashton I really did feel her pain.

This is a story of surviving the worst imaginable things and healing, and learning to live again. Ashton's story is so very sad, but Lincoln brings her a new positive outlook. One she's been needing for so very long.

It took me a while to get into the story at first, but once I did I didn't want to stop reading I just needed to know more.
Five stars from me.

I’d never read or even heard of Alora Kate until A Flaw So Beautiful. I am now on a mission to read everything she’s written. I haven’t read a story like this one, after the darkness. It’s dealing with the nightmares, and fears, the pain from the dark in search of the light. It is very well written; the characters, experiences, the pain are so realistic. This is my favorite story so far this year and will stay with me awhile.

Ashton is such a beautiful, brave woman. She’s lived the unimaginable. She’s scarred. She’s strong. She’s a survivor. She lives alone, no friends, and is comforted by her day-to-day routine, as long as it goes as scheduled. Newly added to her Monday routine…..Lincoln. *smile

Lincoln is one of sweetest, most patient men I’ve ever read. I love how he uses his experiences to support and encourage her. He’s also not afraid to challenge her, knows when to back off and which battles are best left for another day. His willingness to put her first, and wait for her made me love him even more.

There are so many characters in this book that love and hearten her. Each one holds a different piece in her long and difficult journey. Her brother Mike, who’s the greatest big brother, is always there for her. Suzanne, she knows just when to push. She’s been waiting for the right moment to do just that. Natalie has been through something similar before with Lincoln, I was touched by her friendship and support.

It is a journey that I can relate to with real characters and real challenges, new experiences; friends, trust, love, and forgiveness. I enjoyed the pace of the story, it isn’t rushed, it’s a slow progression; a daily struggle, 2 steps forward, 1 step back. The slow and steady pace adds to the realism of the story. Throughout the story I found myself offering Ashton my own words of encouragement.

Oh my goodness there needs to be more stars to rate this book. I read it in six hours! I could not put the book down once I started it! I stayed up to keep reading it was so good. I did not skip around which is something I do when a book bores me. Each page, each paragraph, each sentence, and every word kept my attention. Alora Kate does a wonderful job with the storyline and characters. She gives just enough information to keep you wondering "what happened to the poor girl?"

Unfortunately the "poor girl", Ashton, had a very terrible happen to her over and over for three years. Then even more years reliving it and trying desperately to move on. Then Lincoln, with his own issues, comes into her life and they slowly learn to "hold on" to each other. The story and events are of a difficult subject matter and can be triggers for some. Nonetheless, A Flaw So Beautiful, is worth every minute of reading time. It is a story of survival, hope, love and the survivor in all of us.

This is the first time I have read anything by Alora Kate. It will certainly not be the last. I am in the process of downloading more of her books. Such an amazing story and an even more amazing author. Read this book! NOW!!

Stunning Read! This book deals with the after effects of horrific events but does so in such a beautiful way.

Ashton has been through things that no one should ever have to even think about. As a result, she lives with PTSD, severe anxiety, OCD, and she plans every day down to the minute. If her day goes off track in any way, she goes into a debilitating panic attack. Imagine her distress when her new neighbor insists on speaking to her every time he sees her.

Lincoln is very intrigued by his neighbor. He only sees her once a week and no matter how hard he tries to start a conversation, she isn't having it. He is determined to learn more about her. Eventually he starts breaking down her walls. Will he be able to get through to Ashton? You'll have to read it to find out!!

This book brought out so many emotions in me. It is beautifully written and will keep you glued to your kindle. You will definitely become emotionally attached to these characters. I can't wait to read more of Alora Kate's work.

This story definitely has some triggers, its a book about survival, of letting go of the past, of forgiveness, fighting the darkness.
Lincoln and Ashton, both have been through hell, on different levels, something that some people might not come back from.
A book about strength and finding that person that will pull you out, and love you how you are meant to be loved.
I won't go into too much detail, i really don't know how to write this review without revealing too much, so i won't.
The story was powerful, full of lessons, and learning and coming out on top.
The issue i had with it, was it didn't pull on my emotions, like i really wanted to feel sad, and what Ashton went through, it would be terrifying, an ordeal, i don't think i could survive it, i just didn't feel the connection, its more of a its not the book its just me scenario.
I did like the epilogue, gave it closure.

This was my first read from this author. I really enjoyed it, though the pace was a lot slower than what I normally read. This book encompassed what it means to have unconditional love, patience, and encouragement. The hero was incredibly insightful and sweet. He was absolutely swoon-worthy. The only thing I would've liked to have read, that was missing for me, was lots more description and fine details in the connection between the two, their subtle touches or their first kiss, for example. With someone like this heroine, each minute detail would have been prominent and big deal. I couldn't wait for those moments and then didn't really get to experience them from her POV in the way I was hoping, which could've been quite amazing. I would recommend this to readers that like the slower burn, sweeter romances.

This is one of the hardest reads I've ever encountered. So full of triggers. It would've been a quick read for me but it took me a whole day to finish this one in one sitting because I had to stop and breathe for once and awhile. I actually was not mentally ready for this book. I was an emotional wreck at the end of this ride.

It hits too close to home for me. Going to need fluffy reading now after all that wrecks.

I couldn't finish this one properly.
I had to skip to the end from about 46%.
I couldn't get mesh with the characters. Especially Linc.
I have big problems with how he handled Ashton.
I hate skipping to the end, especially since I paid for this.

A Flaw So Beautiful delves into the psychological aftermath of severe, repeated sexual, physical, and psychological trauma, and is the story of a survivor still struggling years later to establish new barometers for “normal” in her everyday life. For the latter alone, I find this book to be brilliant and the author’s efforts highly commendable. You don’t see many books that wade into the muddy waters of dealing with the day-to-day struggle to overcome seemingly simple obstacles involving both intra- and interpersonal post-trauma behavioral re-wiring. The reason likely being that it’s a slow, arduous process that often involves what may be seen as embarrassing habits and quirks, and the baby steps involved not always that interesting or relatable to anyone but a psychologist or a fellow abuse survivor. So capturing that aspect through an engaging female protagonist who keeps it interesting and even humorous at times with her self-deprecating-yet-determined and often poignantly pragmatic (if that makes any sense) inner monologue, while weaving in a sweet, romantic storyline with an equally likeable male protagonist, makes this book simply phenomenal!

This is a brave subject matter for any fiction writer to tackle, and a tough one to pull off, much less pull off well. You have to walk the fine line of keeping the story moving quickly enough that it’s engaging and the character arc of the abuse survivor progressing, while not glossing over the monumental daily and overall emotional work that needs to be done, so as not to marginalize the experiences of abuse survivors. I think Alora Kate does a wonderful job of sustaining this balance; keeping the reader engaged and flipping pages with the pace she has set, while still keeping Ashton’s emotional progress with Linc within the spectrum of realistic and believable within a fiction novel. Frankly, I normally stick to reading non-fiction material when it comes to this subject matter, because I do think it’s simply very hard material to present accurately in fiction, and particularly as the focal point of a story line. Our psyches are not created equally, and individual coping mechanisms and recovery abilities will vary dramatically. I think this is a book written with great consideration and respect for the subject matter being presented, and for that, again, I think it deserves much praise.

I would categorize this book as a mature read for an adult audience due to the nature of the subject matter. I personally would not put this book in the “dark romance” category, as I have seen it placed, because I think this labeling might be misleading to some readers. In my reading experience, “dark romance” tends to imply a “dark romance” between the main romantic characters—possibly involving dubious consent, hardcore bdsm, sex slavery, etc. And usually in dark romances, this activity is romanticized because both characters are (at least ultimately, if not at first) willing participants who enjoy engaging with one another in this manner. Ashton’s backstory does include an abduction that resulted in horrific physical, sexual, and mental abuse, but none of these past events in Ashton’s life are romanticized in any way, shape or form. They are identified as devastatingly abusive, life-altering events that left Ashton physically scarred and psychologically traumatized to a debilitating degree. They have resulted in Ashton being more or less a shut-in who feels the need to control everything in her environment in order to avoid panic attacks … not a woman seeking bdsm partners. ;) And Ashton's romance with Linc is very sweet and built on establishing respectful boundaries. Linc does push Ashton's boundaries a little too far at times, but he does so in a caring manner and with the goal of trying to help her gain control of her own life, not with the intention of trying to gain control over her.

Lastly, I loved the supporting characters in this story, their individual quirks and mannerisms and Ashton's reactions to them. But hands down, my favorite supporting character relationship was Ashton's relationship with Suzanne, her therapist. I think that Ashton's revelation about her therapist Suzanne is perhaps the most accurate universal truth that all trauma survivors share, and to me, the most powerful underlying message about healing and recovery in this book: We see what we want to see … until we are ready to see something different.

Read the sample and decided that it was not worth the $1.99.

I don’t get it. I don’t get why the hero wanted the heroine and waited outside their complex for 9 plus weeks. She barely said anything to him. She had a round ass, that is about it. Shallow.

The story felt as if it was grasping for straws. The romance/connection was thin. Very thin.

I love these type of stories but it has to be compelling to make me want to spend money on it.
It was not worth it to find out what happened to the heroine six years before to cause her to “want control.” She annoyed me even at the 10% mark where samples usually end.

The hero did not see the heroine do anything redeemable that would draw him to her. So why spend so much time pursuing her??? We did not see her before her issues started. I don’t know if she was/is a good person or not.

The heroine was using the hero as an experiment (if you ask me) to progress with her treatments because her therapist even told her “say a sentence to him and see how it goes. Use this time to help you.” I am paraphrasing but it went something like that.

It could have been so good, but the characters, mostly the heroine, were lacking. The hero was a chump if he wanted to pursue someone who basically did nothing.

My opinion. You may love it. Reading is subjective. Good luck.

This review of A Flaw So Beautiful by Alora Kate is for The Sweet Spot Sisterhood Blog. I have never read anything by this author before, but I love finding new to me authors. Alora Kate is definitely one to watch. I really enjoyed A Flaw So Beautiful and it absolutely deserves this 5 Star review. I wanted to keep reading and reading. I wanted more of Lincoln and Ashton's story. Although the Epilogue seemed a little rushed, I liked how it ended. If you are looking for hot sex then this book might not be for you. However, if you are looking for a true love story between two broken people who somehow make each other whole again, then this book is definitely for you. Ashton's journey is truly breathtaking. She is so much stronger than what she realized. I love watching these broken characters grow. It's breathtakingly brilliant! I highly recommend A Flaw So Beautiful and cannot wait to see what this author has in store for us readers next.

If I could rate this book with 10 stars I would. It will definitely be on my list of top reads of 2017.

I know that with this review I will not be able to do this book justice. It is one of those stories that you just need to read.

Both Lincoln and Ashton has suffered tragic events in their life. Lincoln has moved past his but Ashton is still suffering. This may seem like a story where a girl and boy meet, they help each other, fall in love and everything is great. Well be prepared for a wild emotional story. A story that will wrap itself around your heart, send so many emotions through you, and intensely imprint itself on your brain.

Ashton is broken and it will take so much to fix her. Does she even want to be fixed? Lincoln does not give up. What I loved about Lincoln is he knows when to push and when not to push. As the story progresses we learn more about Lincoln's tragedy and Ashton's tragedy.

These characters are beautifully written and will be with you long after you close the last page. If you want a eloquently, heartbreaking, and mess read that will break your heart and put it back together again. When you read play close attention to the little details. They made it all difference in the healing.

As I said before you NEED to read this book. When you do you will put on a pair of sunglasses, see brighter colors, forgive and heal. (When you read the book you will understand.)

I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of book for Kylie's Fiction Addiction.

I think the most exciting thing as a reader is finding an author who is fairly new, following their work, and watching them grow and crack through the shell to become the storyteller you knew was there all along. This is how I feel about Alora Kate. With the release of A Flaw So Beautiful, Alora Kate proves she can do it all.

This is not happy story, but is not what I would call a dark romance. Ashton is undeniably and rightfully damaged. With the things she's seen and experienced, it's a miracle that she's as functional as she is. This is the most multi deminsional character Alora Kate has written to date. You feel her pain, her need to try to heal, and cheer for her each time she tries to step outside her comfort zone. Ashton is a true heroine in every sense of the word.

Lincoln, Ashton's neighbor and our hero scores a perfect 10 on the hero scale. He recognizes Ashton's fears, and is patient and understanding to a point where most men would have simply given up. Their journey defies all odds. But what a journey it is!

There's no question that A Flaw So Beautiful is Alora Kate's best book. With each and every book she writes, she raises the bar in her growth as a writer. She will be an automatic one-click for me in the future, and I will anxiously await each release. A Flaw So Beautiful is a beautiful 5+*

This book is an amazing emotional experience. About a woman who was traumatized and trying to overcome her PTSD like after effects that help her try and get through "in her mind" a typical day.
Until Lincoln moves in next door and is drawn to her. He just believes she's blowing him off at first, but he doesn't give up. Lincoln has had his own shares of trauma. So he reaches out to Ashton.
This book will take you on Ashton and Lincoln's journey to reach out, and try and figure out how to find the light in the darkness.

Spunky N Sassy Rating: 3.0

~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's ★★★ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Ashton has has such a traumatic life so far, some of which she has only shared with her therapist. When the neighbor across the hall keeps trying to talk to her it pushes her out of her comfort zone and into a place she is not sure she is willing to or can go. Lincoln is so intrigued by Ashton but it takes forever for her to even say what her name is. He just can't seem to get her out of his mind. Can Lincoln push past the darkness of her past and will Ashton finally let someone else in past her darkness?
I have seen some reference to this being a dark romance and I don't classify it as such. There are some parts that may trigger for some but this is more about a woman finding her way out of the horrors of her past. It shows her strength as she battles with the evil that was done to her for three long days. This book had it's moments that just gripped my heart; like that first moment when Natalie and Lincoln brought color back into Ashlyn's life was so special and it touched my heart. I would recommend this book but be warned that it isn't all hearts and flowers, but it is not what I would call a dark romance.
