Silver Mountain Water by Creed is a Aromatic fragrance for women and men. Silver Mountain Water was launched in 1995. Silver Mountain Water was created by Olivier Creed and Pierre Bourdon. Top notes are Bergamot and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Green Tea and Black Currant; base notes are Musk, Sandalwood, Petitgrain and Galbanum.

Silver Mountain Water by Creed is an Aromatic fragrance for men. Inspired by Olivier Creed's fondness for skiing, Silver Mountain Water was designed to evoke the sparkling high-mountain streams of water in the Swiss Alps.

The white bottle capped with a silver cap resembles a snow-topped mountain with a glistening silver stream.

The fragrance opens with bergamot and mandarin, followed by a heart featuring green tea and black currant. The base is composed of Galbanum, musk, sandalwood and petit grain.

metallic, fresh, and a tiny bit fruity. WAYYY overpriced though, get a dupe like supremacy in heaven or club de nuit sillage

ONLY FRESH PERFUME I'LL PROBABLY EVER WEAR!!
based on these reviews i probably just have shitty taste or am in denial but this is my fav from creed...i like the unisex silver freshness here, its pleasant, cool, not too masculine at all, and rather abstract vibes which I love; This is great in spring/summer and just feels so androgynous and laid back, it makes me feel like a cool girl. The first time i smelt it i went home and SERIOUSLY considered buying the 500ml decant bc I was like yeah I could wear this all the time...I dont mind the moderate performance and dont mind respraying every couple hours cuz i carry perfume wit me anyway, we obvs expect better performance for this price but I'm coping cuz I like the scent that much haha...the club de nuit dupe is FAR better in terms of performance and more masculine, so I would just buy that if i were a guy. But as a girl i like this and infact need it bc I wear cold-season heavy-hitters on a daily basis (even in summer yes im psycho) and this is the only "fresh" scent i have ever liked on myself in my conscious adult life; most definitely the only one ive actually considered wearing out. I'm used to smelling consistently strong and pungent all day long and i think this being a moderate-performance freshie is a nice and necessary refreshing change for me and people around me...its also not THAAAT soft or intimate, it does project like an average fresh perfume for like 3/4 hours before becoming softer- this is hardly a problem for me bc i respray myself often anyway even with strong perfumes

maddieonline

This is nice, but in the same way an Axe deodorant is? It's interesting - it's sharp and screechy in the opening but as it settles it's a lot better. It projects well, i.e. just more than an arm's length, and the longevity on this is crazy. In the dry-down I can kind of smell the tea, but honestly I cannot identify one singular note in this purely from sniffing it. I like it and it definitely leans more masculine, but for this price it's not the most unique or complex fragrance I've ever smelled. I don't like it enough to buy a bottle and certainly not at this price point, but it's decent.

vdog

@6jacob9... maybe current formulations. But Cremo doesn't reach anywhere NEAR the depth of the tea, mineral notes and musk of the vintage batches of this.

6jacob9

Cremo Silver water & birch. Thank me later

PerfumDrinker

Starting with green tea and citrus is just legendary, can never go wrong with silver mountain water during summer and spring

TaeBKK

To me, it smells exactly like Mefisto, which I'd rather buy instead. Each to their own, but I dislike Creed and the direction the company is going (cash grab), and would rather not support them.

jokcoy

Citrus in the opening is threw me off and too much. I don't really like citrusy scent so it's biased. The dry down is way better. with tea like scent and a bit of metallic scent. The musky and woody give a nice touch. The dry down is very pleasant. If only I have the option to skip the opening, that would be great. good projection and rather okay longevity. The price tho, nah.... just go with the clone.

Bigreddal

Overhyped, but good. Strong citrus opening that dries down to green tea. Doesn't smell unique or too interesting, but that might be a plus for most people. A simple fresh scent done very well. Would never pay full price for it.

Lampo

Love the scent, but pathetic sillage and longevity makes this unusable.

Scent 9/10
Price 1/10
Longevity 2/10
Sillage 2/10

myadkov

Pretty disappointing and generic fragrance IMO.

Kid_Buu

Inky, citrusy, crisp but slightly sweet. It's hard to think this smells bad... It's so light and mass appealing that you can wear it anywhere anytime and you won't offend anyone. The ONLY downside is that it just doesn't last very long. You'll get about 4-5 hours max.

If you want a good clone, then grab Sillage from Armaf. It's very close to SMW. A bit sweeter, not as well blended, but lasts way longer. And it's like a tenth of the price of SMW lol.

I actually like to layer the two lol. I do 5 sprays of SMW, and 2 of Sillage, that way I can get a little extra longevity and projection.

Also, the presentation is exquisite. The bottle itself is high quality, and the atomizer is probably the best I've ever seen.

7/10

Ground hound

Cold green leafy citrus. A light fresh scent, tasteful, moderately sweet, a definite unisex.

crookedn0se

Definitely evokes the musky 'printed money' base of Millesime Imperial, however also tainted with that sickly 'Johnson's Baby Oil' scent that sits on top; rendering it indeed like a generic face wipe of some sort. Middle notes are too 'busy' so it just smells like a generic 'waft' from a perfume department.

KrampusFr

SMW is an incredible fresh fragrance. Its unobtrusiveness makes this perfect for gym or office. Would say it is unisex but sandalwood leans masculine.
9/10 because of poor longevity

M-as-Marin

SMW is a strange boy, that’s for sure. One thing that deviates from the norm is the lack of ambroxan/ambergris notes found in many other Creed releases. It is a musky fragrance enriched with fruity and tea notes, which means it won’t be for everyone, which is a good thing. I’ll also add that even if this is a masterpiece release, when we consider everything, it is still not my favourite from the brand.

TOP NOTES
The opening of SMW will be a hit or miss for most people. It is somewhat strange and pleasant at the same time, but the quality of the blend cannot be disputed. The first spritz on my skin reveals this weird combination of metallic, musky fruits and citruses. It’s a refreshing, kind of soapy, and energetic combination of blackcurrant, bergamot, and mild orange, infused with muskiness immediately.

HEART NOTES
Heart notes quickly kick in after the exciting opening. For me, this is where the real magic happens as we are introduced to green tea and ozonic accord. The ozonic accord is the only aspect of this composition that will remind you of the 1990s when many ozonic and aquatic scents were available on the market. At this stage of development, I still get that ambiguity, a metallic touch of blackcurrant, and a delightful and realistic green tea accord.

BASE NOTES
You have a clean, musky, slightly woody, and calming scent when everything settles down. There are still slight aspects from the opening and the middle notes here, but don’t expect them to be solid or bold anymore. It’s not an overbearing fragrance, and certainly not something you’ll have to pick a particular occasion to wear. It speaks of the early spring days when everything starts to blossom; in the end, it is not that complicated.

OVERALL
SMW is not a perfect fragrance; it also stands for every other perfume that has been released. I was thinking about whether it deserves a holy grail status for quite some time, and in the end, I decided that it just wouldn’t be fair not to place it here. As a composition that has stood the test of time and went into the perfume hall of fame with millions of users who swear by its quality, I conclude this review with its deserved ranking.

Jesus christ. This is one perfume that makes me wanna sell all my stuff couse this industry plays us like dumbs. What ingridients did they use so it can smell like nivea wipes / sunscreen? Is nivea as good as creed or creed as bad as nivea?

ulask

is it me or does this smell like wet wipe? nothing special at all what's the hype

Ismellit

Im on the fence with this one to be honest, though it is amazing for the summer but in my opinion City Rythem 2654 smells very similar but does it way better especially in the dry down creed silver mountain doesn't change from open to dry the scent notes combined are in your face all day and it gets annoying Do not buy this sample it first please.

fj46

Used a decant for about a week. I think its very unisex, great for women who don't like the sweet smells of many feminine leaning fragrances. For men, its a great fresh out the shower, office/gym scent. It smells very natural and very good, but for the price point/purpose/longevity, not going to get the full bottle.

AveParfum

I am late to the SMW party. Been wearing Creed for over 20 years, but never tried this one until I blind-bought it. Twenty years ago this was categorized as a men’s cologne. The SA never would have offered this to me.

So fast forward to 2023, and I blind-bought it. Indeed it smells like men’s cologne. I have tried tons of mens fragrances in the past 30 years. I used to wear the OG Issey Miyake in college. And of course everyone can wear what they want, but clearly Creed created this “for men”. I wore it throughout winter, and nothing about it gives me snow or winter vibes like it was apparently created to do. Smells like lots of citrus upfront, lemon and bergamot, followed by murky evergreens and a definite note of currants. It’s very beautiful and easy to see why it has endured all these years. A very distinctive fragrance for men compared to all the other stuff I have smelled in 30 years. Lasts forever on my skin. I have a brand-new bottle. It lasts all day with average projection.

connerb

UPDATE: Scratch everything I said before this smells like a wet wipe

jetanach

I wanted to love this one, but it gave me a bit of overwhelming fruity musk something that gives me a headache. Most people around me said that it smelled good. Well, It's good but not for my everyday adventure.

8/10

Mjchaelj

It smells similar to Meteore by LV and costs about the same. Meteore has way better performance though. This is a waste of money but damn does it smell good.

Mr. Cellophane

Doesn't anyone moderate this site in the slightest? With reviews and ratings like these this site is completely USELESS.

landonp11111

like more then aventuse if had better longetivity

Justin_Park

it would be perfect if it had long longevity and performance.

Stinksgood

Smells like David Bowie in Labyrinth. Plus maybe mount Everest circa 1996.

Jérémie Chaput

Silver mountain water is an amazing unique scent, however it does not last long on my skin unfortunately. I would like it a lot more if I didnt have to reaply it multiple times a day. It's still my signature scent though

KillFox

This was my first full bottle niche fragrance purchase, alongside Pardon by Nasomatto.

I love this. It's an almost creamy green tea, with a little darkness from the black currant. A friend of mine mentioned a particular note he smells that I refuse to smell because... it ruins it for me lol if you close your eyes and smell, you can smell it. I will not share what that note is, as it is not truly within the fragrance.

Nonetheless, people stating this dies down quickly... I will not say your experience is wrong, but I will say, not all fragrances need to scream. This does not scream, it sings. The fragrance is for you, and whoever you are speaking with, it is not for a whole room to smell. I do not understand why someone would want all their fragrances to scream in the first place. This fragrance is, what it was supposed to be. Very pleasant.

Edit: today, this has lasted 10 hours already. Again, it is not a sillage bomb, but I keep getting wafts of the fragrance.

socialexperiment22

great metallic silver tea smell, Perfect for summer daytime wear. Would rate this a 7.9/10 Will purchase a full bottle in the near future

TapetumLucidum

gave me goosebumps like i had stepped out of a stream onto melting snow

Cinnaminominameenomomin

This was my first Creed fragrance I've tried, and at first I was super impressed! The citrus notes combined with the tea works so well and gives me this relaxation feel thats amazing. I wore this sample and was hoping for it to still continue to last and keep this amazing scent profile, however, I was SEVERELY dissapointed.

This lasted about 4 hours on my skin and was so dissapointing for me. I think I have to go resort to find a clone of this or something because I love this DNA, but hate how it dissapated so fast and heard lots of Creeds are like this now

2.5/10, very dissapointed with this being my first creed :(

toestench

Smells like a happy spring

BennyDelacroix

My Signature scent !, Lasts me 6hr+ and smells so calming, This is a very sophisticated/sporty smell which is perplexing yet understood this is something i imagine a person who's in the gym and adventurous to wear but the subtle sophistication and high quality ingredients says he's white collar for work.

i.blame.nick

Unique freshness powered by green tea. One of the better ones from Creed for sure.
8.5/10

Brdnz

Smells nice enough, very soft, fruity, airy, i don't get any metallic note like in himalaya. All around pleasant but its so subtle even when its first sprayed and it lacks any depth or performance. I've tried pretty much all the creeds now and I didn't expect the be blown away but i'm shocked as to how bad or meh almost all of them are, the brand is a bad joke at this point

Chemason1967

I’ve had farts linger longer than this, glad I only got a sample anyone who’s purchased a full bottle you’ve had your pants pulled down.

Vvsberg

Perfect summer chill scent. All I can say it smells great!

David_stojan00

Beautiful fragrance imo. It smells so good, and girls love it too. It is the my second favorite creed just behind GIT. The longevity is a bit meh, and the fragrance is so overpriced. But the scent itself is beautiful.

jdvice

Really like the smell of this fragrance. Bought a sample and its amazing how fresh it is. Performance was severely lacking; maybe 2 hours. I feel like its not worth the price theyre asking.

jameskw3

Since 2017, I have only ever bought more than one bottle of a fragrance twice. SMW and Versace pour homme are the only ones. I am absolutely in love with this scent. I get tons of musk from my F batch, and surprisingly more citrus than tea imo. On my skin it wears somewhat linear. Performance isn't great, but the quality of the notes are fantastic. Im not one to wear fresh in winter, but this parfum gives a certain type of "vibe" that I think passes for moderately warm winter days. Uniqueness is a massive deciding factor in cologne for me, and while I don't think this is the most unique scent out there, the quality of the ingredients make up for it. Will be my signature for likely years to come.

skm50

Smells good. Fresh, crisp, inky, and slightly sweet. A bit too inky smelling for me to want to wear every day. Performance sucks though. Like whyyy.. I dropped all this cash for a scent that disappears like Houdini?? Wtf is that about😭 But anyway, I discovered Armaf, which has a FANTASTIC dupe called Sillage that smells almost identical and is very very long lasting/good projection. I like it even more than SMW and returned the SMW. Sorry Creed, y'all dropped the ball on this one, you ain't robbing me. Just get the dupe, folks. Don't buy into the hype like I did.

Si Sørenson

My favourite frag my first proper expensive one aswell smells sexy and I love it

punkkbott

This is just the perfect clean unisex scent on me. I love it so much. Mostly pick up the tea, bergamot, and sandalwood.

dantek121

Underrated IMO and a great, striking, fresh scent. Smells amazing in the air. There's always vintage batch craziness when diving into Creed. If you seek vintage batches of this fragrance you will find that they do last longer than current batches. Compared to the second hand market of vintage bottles of other Creed fragrances, vintage SMW is better priced than vintage Aventus for instance. Just be sure that the top notes are still fresh because the citrus can turn. Between testing a 2014 batch and 2021 batch, the former lasted longer but the depth of the scent was similar.

oTEMPE5To

Out of Silver mountain water, CDN Sillage, and Xerjoff Mefisto I think I like the smell of this the most- its smoother and rounder with a sweetness to it, but boy is it ever a fleeting fragrance. SMW sits somewhere in that 2 hour range for me, spending most of that time as slight skin scent though I suspect I could be nose blind, Armaf Sillage was a bit sharp smelling to me but the performance is through the roof and lasts over 12 hours on me; I honestly find it too strong for the first 4 hours. Lastly Mefisto has a bit much rose for my taste, but after about an hour blends really nicely- and sits somewhere in the 4-5hour range for performance; also spending most of that time close to the skin.

I do believe an element to the lack of performance from this could simply be nose blindness because I can smell it on the collar of my tshirt the next day, and get wafts of it when having a shower in the evening, same with mefisto. I do wonder if its to do with Xerjoff and Creed using more natural materials or something??

My bottle is a 2021 batch and doesn't smell as cold as sillage did. It's got a slight warmness to it and is incredibly smooth. No sharp metallic notes or anything. It would one of my favorites if it had more oomph.

Really need to test Gentleuomo next because this type of signature has really grown on me.

EDIT: Got a fb of gentleuomo, it's incredible. Favorite. But smw is close. It's smoother and better for an evening. Getting this 2021 batch has me intrigued about the older batches, or the new 2023 ones which may dethrone gentleuomo

raj.kanaj

Sprayed this side by side with Armaf Club De Nuit Sillage today

The Creed had more Depth and was smoother.
Higher quality Definitely.
However the Creed paled in performance
Sillage had a much brighter fresh citrus opening but was projecting
and skin scent at 5hr mark

SMW sat closer to the skin for about 5 hours when it wore off

Not sure if im missing anything entirely
only had a sample of SMW which is what im basing this all off
There is no reason at all to buy this !
its about 'twice' as good in depth quality (not performance) as Sillage
but thats it!
but at 7 times the price ??
Not against anyone that can afford this
but this a no brainer

Surus War Elephant

Bought it today, had 2 return it. Literally 10 minutes and it was gone. The clerk laughed at me then i laughed 😅

eaudemale

Who’s heard the rumor that creed is coming up with a stronger SMW in 2024?
There will be a line of 3 Amber based fragrances, also..

RhettB27

I do enjoy the Aventus DNA and really love Aventus Cologne, but SMW is becoming my favorite Creed fragrance. The green tea, petit grain, and galbanum combo in the base is immaculate, so perfectly and invigoratingly green. This is a fragrance you spray and say “damn,” and imo encapsulates what wearing fragrances should be. A special treat that makes you appreciate the art every time you spray it.

LukeWoj

The perfect fresh citrusy fragrance. Although overpriced for its power and only lasting on me a max 3 hours it's still an unremarkable fragrance I would recommend to anyone that needs a freshie. However, it's better to bring a little decant with you.

ashroloie

Am I the only one who thought of Jolly Rancher watermelon after smelling this? Got sample of this in a creed set at Christmas. I only ever knew Creed for Aventus like most people. I did like this but my god it was a tad on the light side and a bit short lasting. Smelled devine and fantastic but it's not perfect. No way would you drop big money on this scent for an entire bottle. Get the armaf clone or buy smaller decants online.

Jesse's Fragrances

Another great perfume by Creed! It starts with green tea, then a little bergamot with citrus. The only gripe I have about it is it doesn’t last as long as other Creed fragrances. I would wear it everyday only if it lasted longer.

sarahlage

Oh, I adore this cologne! It’s so bright and fresh; that’s the only way I can describe it! It is citrusy, yet cool and very masculine at the same time. The dry down is a warmer unisex skin scent with hints of sandalwood. Simply invigorating and perfect from start to finish!

I still remember walking into Harry Rosen in the Rideau Center (Ottawa, Canada) after they updated their store & seeing this line of flask-shaped bottles & being curious as to what they were. "Creed". Bottle by bottle, I checked the whole line up and found myself very fond of almost the entire line. But on that day, one stood out from all the rest, Silver Mountain Water - I knew it was for me. At that time I was 15. I was just getting into understanding style & fragrances. I had a job like most high schoolers & bought myself a spring/summer fragrance (Prada Luna Rosa) & a fall/winter one (Tom Ford Noir). After seeing the price tag of $350 CAD for 120ml, I knew I couldn't afford it. For my 16th birthday, I didn't ask for a car - I asked for a bottle of Silver Mountain Water.

Now, i'm 25. I have owned every Creed I wanted as well as many other fragrances, both niche and designer. Most of them I never repurchased, ended up selling, or giving to friends. With Silver Mountain Water, I have gone through 3 120ml/100ml bottles & 1 250ml flacon.

While some people say its over priced, its performance is lacking, I personally don't feel the same. I buy it discounted from Fragrance Buy now, but if I couldn't - I'd still pay full retail for it. On my skin, this lasts 7+ hours. While I might not be able to smell it after 3-4 hours, other people have complimented me after a full day of wear. Aside from the stellar performance on my skin, I find this to be one of the most unique "safe" fragrances in production today. The mixture of tea, citrus, and musk in this scent is so well executed & blended to perfection. I also love how since Creed has become more well known in the past 9 years in the mainstream, Aventus is what most non-fragrance enthusiasts gravitate towards so I don't smell like everyone else even though more people are familiar with the brand - I smell like me.

Silver Mountain Water is "My" fragrance & always will be. If it ever becomes discontinued, I plan to buy 10+ bottles so I never have to live without it.

tab369

I can see where this may not be for everyone, especially in the niche category it’s super light. It’s chilling, to me the best way to describe it (and it’s not even a description really) is this what I imagine Jack Frost would wear. It’s just bright but fills your nose with almost a light effervescent feeling rather than a really forward projecting scent. It’s tough because I really do enjoy the scent but I don’t really enjoy the price point.

hanif999

Very fresh, clean and appealing! When I first smelt this it reminded me of CK one. Even though they smell different, theres a similarity to its clean, fresh element of the fragrance. Although this would work better during the warmer months, i still think this can still be worn during winter and autumn. If anything, the fragrance reminded me of a cold environment, like on top of a snowy mountain. There are many clones out there that smells similar and that is wayyy cheaper (for example, armaf club de nuit sillage) but non of them smells as good as creed silver mountain water.

The fragrance is more on the subtle side rather than a loud fragrance, but not as subtle as millesime imperial.

I tend to wear this if im wearing a clean, soft, white and premium clothes during the day as it suits the vibes!

Bregondo

Beautiful effervescent opening that unfortunately dissipates after 5 minutes or maybe even less. Projection of around 3-4 feet for maybe 10 minutes. It quickly sits close to the skin, and stays as a soft faint skin scent for 6 hours.

karlovonamesti

Wore this one again recently. It's changed from past years, but not by much. I only have prior experience with SMW dating back to between 2011 and 2013. Back then it read to me as a sweet berry fragrance with a bit of transparent citrus on top, very sheer and quite hard to detect. Today it smells like a somewhat metallic citrus, mostly sweet mandarin and aromatic bergamot notes that are intertwined to form that familiar opening, surprisingly in league with most of the clones out there in terms of quality. Only difference with SMW is it's definitely a bit smoother than most of the other stuff, at least in the first fifteen minutes. But current formula dries down to a relatively plain "ink" note of blackcurrant and what smells a bit like black tea, mated to a thin white musk. To be honest, Sillage is deeper, more robust, and also features the exact same blackcurrant and tea effect in the drydown, with less white musk and more Ambroxan. I would own SMW just to say I have it, but would probably wear Sillage more.

Nothing in a bottle

mikebardenpiano

Despite the rave reviews from so many people, this one is just painful for me, like an cold icepick up the nose. Fragrances are truly subjective, you just have to see for yourself how it works for you, and I am thinking this is just not for me. I might try it again in warm weather, but for now I'm afraid it's a nope.

Update: Well, I have adjusted to this and am finding it very pleasant now instead of harsh. And I got a full bottle - yes, that's quite the turnaround for me. I already have Armoff Sillage but the SMW is clearly higher quality. I'm mixed on the performance issue. One day I wore it for work and I could continue to smell it throughout the day, then another day I tried the same and it seemed to die off too quickly. So my feelings about it are still a little mixed but I do appreciate the scent much more now, and kind of love it.

leonardwashington

This was my very first niche I’ve ever purchased. I’ve read reviews on Creed not being the Creed it use to be but I took a chance anyway. I’ve heard some much about the creed brand and always wanted to try Creed. After doing some research between the best Creed to get for appeal to the opposite sex(women). I came across Silver Mountain Water(SMW). A lot of people say Aventus is the best Creed. I came across YouTuber Melissa National(hope I spelled her name right). She made a video how Aventus is a boxer dropper while SMW is a panty dropper. Me personally I enjoy wearing fragrances that are sexy/date night appeal. Along with other women saying they think SMW is just super sexy smelling compared to Aventus. So I gave it a buy. When wearing SMW I must say it’s definitely very very very 🔥!!! Even though I enjoy sexy/date night fragrances. I enjoy fresh/airy smelling fragrances. It’s something about fragrances that smells Airy that really triggers a feel good kind of feeling to me. SMW is very fresh, airy, mountain, cold and watery smell. That’s the best way I can describe it. There is a Green Tea note. Which I think that gives it the smoothness. I could be wrong I’m no expert. Yes it does have a clean metallic/inky texture to it but I absolutely don’t mind it because it seems like it’s only in the opening of the fragrance. I absolutely love SMW. It doesn’t last too long but I think it could be we’re wearing it in the wrong season let me explain.

It’s been ideally a spring/summer fragrance because of its a freshly. I read about people experiencing with fragrances on Reddit. This guy said he’s been wearing this fragrance since it came out in the 90’s. Said to him this really shines for him during the colder months. Then it click for me. When reading this description for this fragrance. Oliver Creed said this fragrance was made in remembrance of Skiing on the Alpine Alps. Where it’s cold, snowy, and mountainous. It clicked for me to give this a shot when it’s cold 🥶 out as a freshie. So I’m give it a go.

Overrall SMW I think is the only Creed I’ll keep in my collection. I really enjoy that fresh, metallic, herbal, airy smell. Also women love it and I do too. It last about 6-8hours on me and I’m little heavy on the sprays with this. But this has become my first signature scent on my new fragrance journey.

brcamp13

This is the best smelling fragrance in my personal opinion. It’s a shame it doesn’t last long, but it’s more stomachable when you’ve purchased it at 50%+ off via discounters or Costco.

It’s difficult to pick out notes, and it’s overall just pleasant and heavenly. Not heavy, not offensive. Just amazing.

Owen Witabi

Great fragrance. There's a note in this that I'm not fond of but overall really enjoy the profile, the more I wear it. Surprisingly long lasting, and can picture getting choked out if over spraying close to nose area. One of the only perfumes my dad enjoys and doesn't find to be a synthetic mess.

Tony Shades

This is one of the weirdest combos ever, just like Erba Pura. It's a fruity musky ambrox something in which everything seems to clash with each other. Absolutely unwearable to me.
However, people who like fresh synthetic fruity bombs like Erba Pura and such will probably enjoy this one too. Good luck with it!

ginandrice

A nuanced and sophisticated fresh scent that impressively realizes its name.

Tangy, musky, and aromatic, with a great mineral freshness to it.

It opens with a zing of citrus—mostly bergamot, not very sweet—before drying down into tangy green tea and airy-sweet muskiness.

It really does evoke the subtle mineral "sweetness" of icy-cold, fresh mountain water that's run itself clean over miles and miles of rocks and stones.

Spring is my least favorite season, especially living in a city where springtime means endless cold and rain. But Silver Mountain Water makes me want to embrace the spring—makes me want to lace up my sneakers and go for a morning jog; let the rain and the cold air wake me up.

dayonee

I'm a huge fan of fresh, citrusy, smooth scents so this is right up my alley. Very nicely done. One of the reviews stated that it smells like heaven, and I get it. I imagine a cupid smelling like this, sitting on a cloud eating a citrus fruit. To my nose, PdM Sedley has a similar vibe but that is a bit more sharp and bright. Relatively, SMW is more smooth and muskier. Nothing groundbreaking and some may even find it boring but no one around you will be offended by this. So easy to wear, refreshing, and comforting. Not worth the retail, though. Get it discounted.

Mouse011 you are so right! I have bought smw this summer I think, it was June and I immediately thought it was little too much for the summer temperatures. For me, it’s mostly problem of the sandalwood that makes this fragrance warm in the dry down and little too heavy for summer heat imo. Black currant is also a problematic for me during warmer months. I absolutely adore to wear it now especially inside in the evening hours. It’s so comforting, fresh yet warm, creamy, slightly metallic, heavenly scent!

Mouse011

Am i the only person who love wearing smw only in winter? The colder is, better is.
Couple years in a row i'm wearing it only when winter comes.
That metalic natural sharp freshines makes me feel like im on swiss mountains.
Step by step smw becoming one of my favourite freshies, but really the special one.

2025 smw will celebrate the 30th birthday, i mean wth??
It have absolutely notihing in common with decade in which was realeased.

Can't count how many compliments i got on smw, this is highly likable fragrance, everybody like it, especially girls.
If you want to smell sexy, just spray smw on clean skin...
Smells freshie, exciting, expensive, and above all it's still unique even after unbelievably 28 years.

Just don't searching for cheap clones, there is no quality like Creed & Bourdon done,
Don't forget SMW was realeased when Creed was Creed.
I don't think David Bowie was crazy :)

Unfortunately, Creed house started to "fade" somewhere after 2013...14...

First off if you had any doubts, this is never ever worth the money. It's a freshie, not a work of art. The bottle is the ugliest I've seen yet. Looks and feels cheap. This is a case of paying for the name. A name I will never look for again.

On paper:
Lovely fresh fruity herbal blend. Smells pleasant and is not sweet.
The dry down seems a bit samey. Like a good but generic cologne.

On the wrists:
It loses a lot of its cold airyness and is more cologney from the start. The black currant is a bit more pronounced, which is nice. All in all it feels pleasant but unnecessary; its performance is weak.

I'd recommend Acqua di Parma Colonia or Colonia Futura over this. I think it's a much better quality experience at a third of the price. In fact in direct comparison the Creed smells cheap and artificial.

phylogeneric

Wonderful scent. It's pricey but once I tried it I had to have it. It's the best fresh scent I have tried, thus far. You will be hardpressed to find something just as unique, yet pleasing. I honestly prefer it over Aventus (although they have much different aims). After years of going through colognes I have finally come to the only 2 I need: this for office/day trips and BdC Parfum for nights out.

frankyt

Excellent fragrance, very fresh and easy to wear with a little bit of green as well. My go to when wearing in office spaces.

NoirMemoir

A couple of weeks ago i went absolutely ballistic on this fragrance and i feel like i was unfair and frankly quiet barbaric in my aproach so i deleted my review and i will try to write a more grounded opinion on this.

I got a 50ml decant of Creed Silver Mountain Water for 55 dollars. Decanted off a 2021 batch 250ml Carafe. It was a jaw dropping price but what infuriated me was how such an expensive fragrance doesn't have the performance.

I wore this today to a wedding where i didn't feel comfortable with an obnoxious fragrance and it was a great choice!

Onto the scent: Silver Mountain Water is a fitting name because it is a fresh and clean, green citrusy, salty, cold, mineraly fragrance. Some percieve it as inky or metallic and i can understand that, with some imagination it can remind me of ball pen ink. I've never smelled Millesime Imperiale, only smelled its clone Armaf Milestone and i definetly get the similarities but this one feels colder while Milestone is saltier, fruttier, more "melony". But the salty touches are what they both share. I think Millesime Imperial or Milestone is better suited for summer tho because of the added fruitiness.

The imagery i get with this perfume is a small waterfall on the rocky slopes of a mountain, on a cold and foggy late autumn day, winter being just around the corner. To this day, this is the only fragrance that gives me chills because of how cold it smells like, especially when i sometimes put a spray on my hand during the colder months.

I still maintain my opinion that it is not worth the price tag unless 300+ dollars mean nothing to you and you really love the scent profile. I think unless you don't mind the weaker performance and you have an incredibly refined nose or you are against clone fragrances by principle, the ARMAF dupes more then satisfy the craving for this scent DNA and from what i hear they perform way better too. I also find Dior Homme Sport to be a better and more affordable alternative for similar purposes, not a smell-alike mind you, just in the same vein of cold and bright citrusy but slightly elegant DNA.

Oh by the way, i just noticed this fragrance came out in 1995! If it came out in 2023 no one would question it, thats a big plus. I think the black currant makes it abstract and therefore timeless. From my experience, black currant as a note is very interesting as many people will be intrigued by it and really like it (hence the compliment factor of scents such as Armaf CDNIM / Creed Aventus) but some absolutely hate it and i also think it might be the note responsible for the "inkyness" in Creed SMW.

Zigf

It’s like the clearest and the most transparent parfume I’ve ever had. Longevity on my skin is decent, but sillage is very intimate. The perfect parfume for the office and everyday wearing imo, on par with Prada L’Homme, but a little more risky, more musky and fruity.

Gio786

Smells good and you do get the Bergamot and black current but for me It does not last long, and for the price you can get better summer scents that last longer.

POTFORTY2

I don’t care for Club De Nuit Sillage but I LOVE silver mountain water. It’s odd because they’re so similar but the Armaf is a bit dirtier in a way I really don’t admire. The dirtiness of Armaf is not a huge difference but it really ruins the scent for me.

I also get great longevity out of SMW it lasts all day. I’d say the scent is a bit soft in Sillage but I think it would be obnoxious if it was loud.

Honestly the stuff is amazing I own creed Viking, GIT, and Aventus but every time I wear SMW it’s my favorite.

Florind

It's OK for men. crowd pleasing
not too masculine
spiky silvery icy liquid, flower scented ice cube for man

KerriZ

It's a beautiful fresh clean totally everyday wearable fragrance. On me it was a delightful citrusy tea with a dose of fresh green. Lasted about 4 hours on me. Maybe not enough to justify the Creed price tag but if you shop around you can find it.

toosimilar

I've been searching for this after trying some cheap, yet really nice, Arabian clone
Well, the scent is ok, but it's too gentle and sits close to the skin
When smelling this I am thinking about some water lilies and grass

lenileni

the opening smells like dove cucumber soap but the drydown on this is a dream. totally unisex

jbozz

This is the King of fresh and clean. I am absolutely head over heals in love with Silver Mountain Water, and I understand those who feel this is absolutely Creed's finest offering. It's simply a beautiful clean white scent with the most refreshing natural smell I've ever encountered in fragrance. To me the musk is light and not overbearing at all. I literally can't stop sniffing my arm where I sprayed. It projects for only about an hour, but it actually lasts on skin for a good 5-6 hours with wafts and a light scent trail present as you move around. Nothing in the designer world smells quite this beautiful and natural to me. Any hype for this is real and justified in my opinion. Aventus, Aventus Cologne, Millesime Imperial, and Silver Mountain Water, that’s all I need from Creed!

seandere

Got a tester while in Texas for work and wearing it around the trip made me like it even more, more for the younger crowd which suits me. Overall wish i could afford the big bottle.

freddielawry1

I love this so much but need to thin out my collection.

Bearded_King

I bought my current bottle of Silver Mountain Water back in 2019. This batch was strong when I used it for the summer at that time. Now, in 2023, summertime in Houston Texas weather, this fragrance doesn’t last for shit!

Not gonna lie, it still smells as if I first bought it, but the performance is trash.👃(sniffing) I still get that inky smell from the Black Currant,👃 I still get that citrus from the mandarine and the polarizing green tea note, 👃 and the freshness from the bergamot. After 30min - an hour, the fragrance becomes a skin scent. I’ve haven’t gotten not even 1 compliment by wearing it in 2023. No one can smell it. If there’s no projection, at least have an scent bubble or something. But no, nothing.

Towels

It smells nice. Fresh tea-ish scent on top with a lot of musk underneath. Too musky for me. I totally get the "Ink" smell from this people talk about. This is severely overpriced. It's nice but it's not amazing. There's just so many other fragrances which will make a better impression for less than half the price. This fragrance is so much hype for just a subtle musky green tea. There's nothing in here that reminds me of the mountains or silver water.

Advantageous01

Beautiful abstract metallic opening with a sweet and creamy sandalwood drydown. I'm surprised to see galbanum ranked so low on the note breakdown, as it really stands out to me in the scent. Silver Mountain Water is an absolute masterpiece of perfumery and without a doubt one of my all time favorite scents.

WeezyPipes

I love the top notes but it quickly turns musky and is less refreshing. Almost reminds me of Platinum Egoiste with that cold metallic tinge. SMW would be a good office scent but I wouldn't spend Creed money on a daily driver. I feel like it's objectively pleasant yet I rarely reach for my sample, it's just not very exciting after the first few minutes.

Sophia97

This bottle was my blind buy and oh, I can not tell you how much I am in love with this fragrance. Everytime I wear this fragrance I get tons of compliments. It's definetly a compliment getter. This is a great option to have for those humid summer days because it's fresh and doesn't overpower me. If you are having double thought while purchasing this fragrance, I would say, JUST BUY IT!!

Jaxsonfj

This is my favorite fresh/clean fragrance.

I have 50+ bottles of niche/designer perfumes, and If I had to keep only 3, I would pick Dior Homme parfum,YSL Tuxedo, and Silver Mountain Water.

it is fresh. it is clean. it is floral. The metallic scent that it has is what really makes this stand out as the perfect fresh scene for me.

I would say this is a blind buy if it wasn't in the ~$400 range.

stardust_ziggy

Wow this is a 10/10 scent, my gosh. Every time I wear it Im reminded how great it is. This is not a challenging scent nor statement scent but it is unique and smells like quality ingredients were used.

This is refined. Its very safe but not generic. The tea and currant can smell floral but it’s really not.

Sample first because it’s expensive. Performance is poor so if you like the scent and cheaper raw materials won’t bother those around you get CDNS as it’s maybe 1/10 of the price and does have good performance.

Scent 10/10
Price to performance 4/10

iamwntr

This! Silver Mountain Water to this day remains the best Creed fragrance, the smell is so intoxicatingly fresh, deep and crisp.

I find myself wearing this more in winter, it's a fruity green fragrance but a cold crisp one at that, some people say it smelly inky and I can kind of pick that up, an almost green sparkly ink.

Performance is fair and good and generally not an issue unlike the whole ridiculous Aventus batches thing.

10/10 a classic

JusttheFactsMan

#209 in my "Tour de Fragrance"

I like the scent, especially the opening that is shrill and impressive, but unfortunately for the brand there is a passable dupe in Club de Nuit Sillage that matches up well for $30. So, you have to pass this by just on principle. Then there's the mediocre performance, average at best.

I see a lot of complaints that Creed's reformulations are disappointing. I don't know not having used the pre-2016 versions, but it seems the Arab scent makers like Armaf are eating their breakfast, lunch and dinner because the latest Creed versions are deemed poor performers by long-term clients who are giving the brand a ton of bad word-of-mouth.

No one has to put up with poor performance in this high price range. When I buy MFK Grand Soir or PDM Pegasus I absolutely get my money's worth. They aren't just great scents, but I put them on at 7AM and I can go straight from a late day at the office to dinner with a date and the scent is still performing. This Creed scent doesn't have anything like that endurance. I expect to respray at lunch if it's a scent that's under $50, but not one that's $250 for a 100ml bottle.

magicto123

I received a 2 ml sample and used it for 3 days.

However, the fragrance only carries a musky and powdery scent, rather than the spectrum of ingredients it claims to have. Strangely, I couldn't detect the middle notes at all. The scent would appear intermittently, linger for just a few seconds, and disappointingly vanish within two hours.

I had to sniff my wrist closely to catch its elusive presence. To enhance its projection, it needs to be mixed with other matching scented lotions. However, some people claim that doing so would ruin its heavenly scent, which, to be honest, I couldn't perceive. Therefore, it's advisable to use it in a solitary or less crowded environment to prevent other slightly stronger odors from overshadowing it.

The monotonous scent and underwhelming longevity were certainly not worth the high price and didn't live up to the reputation of the brand. It was a major letdown, as there are undoubtedly much cheaper alternatives available.

RawSmells

Looking at the Pros it seems I’m of the minority that likens this to Millesime Imperial? Either way I think it’s lovely, and so is Millesime Imperial.

With SMW on my left arm, and Millesime Imperial on my right, they are ever so similar, but NOW with both being compared from the opening onwards, I can so smell the melon in SMW, and MI smells so aquatic, to me those are the main two comparisons. If you love one, there is no doubt you will love the other, unless you are averse to Melon. The Melon is so obvious now that I compare the two. SMW on it's own, I could not detect Melon at all, but now I so do. I think I'm leaning more towards MI...

I have reached to the conclusion as I believe most of us should; if you enjoy Creed fragrances and appreciate them for what they are, then as part and parcel of their fragrance experience is their pathetic performance and longevity. If the latter two negative aspects are taken into consideration and accepted, then you may start to realise how gorgeous they are. It’s a bit like having a great friend, but they have a some annoying habits, and once accepted as the whole package, they can become your absolute best friend, and I believe the same applies with Creed.

SMW is stunning, it reminds me too much of Milliseme Imperial, but with the Melon twist, it has similar performance but a bit better. I can’t say there is a Creed that I “dislike”, it’s just the price Vs performance that’s painful. It’s such a fresh and addictive smell, I paid £135 for 50ml, and that is just about right for the gorgeous smell. I'm definitely leaning towards MI, but if you smell SMW on it's own, I don't think you could really perceive a difference, except, the 'there's something different than MI' feeling.

There are very good dupes of SMW and MI, and if you are happy with the Creed dupes, then go for it, I seriously doubt anyone else will notice they are dupes, because after all everyone’s body chemistry is different, but for me, (and this is me), in my own humble personal opinion, I love what I smell, and be it psychosomatic or not, I notice a Creed dupe _on_ me, and I can smell how smoother Creed is, does it warrant the difference in price? For me, yes, for anyone else? Well that’s where the beauty of our hobby resides, it’s completely subjective. If you wore a good Creed dupe, would I notice? Probably not, so the bottom line is I'm wearing it for *me*.

Irrespective if you enjoy this one or a dupe, just go and enjoy it. Life is too short to argue who has a bigger wallet to accommodate one purchase over another, enjoy your £25 dupe or your £250 Creed, it matters not, what matters is if it makes you smile, and what makes you happy, makes those that surround you happy, don’t let any review or anyone tell you otherwise :)

Enjoy your frags, enjoy your loved ones and most importantly go enjoy life, and God bless you all :-)

SeeMGRun

Used a 10mL sample of this for about a month. Something about the scent was very icy/crisp, which I weirdly felt actually worked well for winter use. Fresh but not really in a linen/out of the shower way, more just clean and musky. I wouldn't purchase this considering the price point, but overall a pretty good frag.

Uzayr_J

I don't know what to say about this fragrance, i am a light perfume lover and that's the reason I fell more for women fragrances, but silver creed mountain is just on another level, it's too expensive but I just can't get of this beautiful fragrance, the scent is just awesome, it's fresh and just gives you a more confident vibes, it is something that I would make my signature fragrance, I have always good experience with creed, wether it's creed aventus men or women, or creed white flowers, all perfumes are good that I tested.
Sillage for SMW is good not brilliant not bad
Longevity is ok not poor not great about 3-5 hr on skin and 10-12hr on clothes.
The price is just too high, even the perfumed oil for SMW is too expensive.
But believe me it's just too good and I can't stop myself sniffing it. It's just awesome for those who love fresh, cool, little floral, little musky, but the freshness remains same from first to last. One my favorite perfume. ❤️

Kasra_mahjoub

recently i got a sample from a 500ml 2016 batch codes (which is before reformulation ) it`s just heaven . natural sweetness (which is ok for me) and the freshness of green tea . love it .. pure quality perfrect for summer and spring time . forget about armaf sillage it`s so sharper and hursh compare to SMW . overall my favorite summer scent .

Psalzarulo

This is my first time smelling a Creed scent so I was excited but also didnt know what to expect.

The opening to Silver Mountain Water is extremely gentle and, clean, and mildly soapy but it's also much feinter than I expected. The name is very fitting as you're getting a whiff of something that smells naturally sweet.

Obviously, it smells very nice. I think you can probably find something that smells similar for 1/10 of the price, with the difference being the notes would not be as light, gentle, or fresh.

I think the sublty is the selling factor here. I understand and respect refinement in fragrances, but I can honestly barely smell it. I'll give it an 8/10 with price as a consideration. There's no wow factor here that I can detect. If you're buying this it's because you want the most refined expression of cleanliness possible and price is not a factor.

krisscent

At first all I could smell was baby wipes, but as time passed and I kinda removed that association of it I was able to appreciate it's finer notes, truly beautiful and heavenly scent. I only wish it would last more, the performance of this thing is PATHETIC, if there was a way to make this last longer it would be my favorite fragrance of all time.

PapaTLooch

Not liking the opening at all. Sharp and screechy, abrasive. This one’s not for me. Awful, smells like a young girl. Too sour.

FFEXPCHRIS

I’ve had Silver Mountain Water for awhile. I’ve always found the scent to be interesting. I suggest you go to a Bloomingdales, Saks Fifth Avenue, or a Nordstrom, and give a test. I wouldn’t blind buy this in case this isn’t your thing. I will tell you my girlfriend loves when I wear this, so that makes it a hit for me. It’s a clean scent !

Formula1

Just got this. Smells like heaven. So good. Its fresh and clean and that's what its supposed to be. You can tell the quality of the ingredients is there. Seems pretty strong too me. Just put on 2 sprays and I have been getting wafts of it for the last few hours. Projects a decent amount, just how I like it. Got a compliment on it. Please get a sample and test for yourself. Don't just listen to others.

EDIT - Soooo after a few days I realized that comparing the performance of this to the other fragrances I have it is quite week. It smells so good but just does not last. I could care less about projection. To me longevity is important and this just does not last enough for me to smell it for more then 3 hours. Its too expensive to last a short amount of time. I did get my bottle from Costco (they have great deals sometimes) so not sure if they had a bad batch but I was disappointed in the longevity on this one.

boozya

I got SMW as a gift and I would have been really mad at myself if I gave into hype and bought it even at discounter prices (I would have never even considered SMW at retail price). It's cute, it's pleasant, it's very wearable, but I fail to see the uniqueness or sophistication or the legendary quality. Performance is horrendous and the price point is a joke. I'll wear SMW since I have it anyway, but I would swap it for something more exciting and daring in a heartbeat.

MSC99

I love it and it’s delicate freshness. However would be happier if it would be more intense and have more longevity.

It’s too expensive for what it is and it’s difficult to justify its purchase.

a2zbeats

Eugh..... This one's not it. Smells like glue with dryer sheets, I just got out of the shower and already want to wash myself off again. This one's a big miss for me.

4.6/10

mutintabailey

This is quiet simply adorable, i tried on several other nice fragrances for summer and this one is both summer and winter to spring. It's most natural and most lovingly to your skin and clothing. I'll buy this simply for the fact its understated but powerful when you get a wiff of this past you!

CHESTDAYBABY

The newest F-Batch has amazing performance.

I received 2 compliments within the first hour and 5 more even after 6 hours.

Trust the hype 🤝🏻

keshafun

Second buy from Creed, this time featuring Silver Mountain Water, a perfect fragrance for summertime, and where it is hot and humid. The smell really compliments it in the hot weather, and it is perfect for causal wear and work. It's a scent that still lingers on my clothes for up to a day.

Longevity: 8.5/10 - On my skins, it lasts an average of 6+ hours, on clothes it could be up to a day.
Sillage: 8/10 - It's perfect for those around you.
Gender: Unisex - Women would smell good with this fragrance.
Price Value: 7/10 - Got a deal so why not.

Radu SG

Why is no one talking about the similarity between this and CK One, to me it smells like they almost made a creed version of that

ducklover02

Like other Creeds its a very inconsistent fragrance. That is something i both love and hate while it gives me something new every time i put it on. Sometimes it kinda smells glue-like, and other times it gets a Acqua di Gio/sea breeze kinda smell( Both versions i love btw) .The performance is also very inconsistent - for me the longevity is either only like 4 hours, and other times it feels like it lasts over 12. Sometimes you even forget you have it on, but i can promise you other people notice it and they WILL like it. They might not love it, but it´s very hard to dislike. Its a great fragrance to just smell "nice", which i love. I don´t really like the attention you get from fragrances, and i´m more than happy to just smell "nice". This fragrance is not really groundbreaking on anything, but i just can´t get enough of it. It smells clean and natural, its never cloying/annoying and almost everyone i know has had a positive reaction to it. I´m hesitant to recommend it because of the price though. To me it´s worth the 200 Euro price tag, but i wouldn´t recommend this fragrance if you don´t love it as much as i do.

I know Creed has had a pretty bad reputation the last few years, which is totally understandable, but this fragrance is a great example of why i love this fragrance house so much. To me they make the most natural, regal and subtle fragrances on the market. To some people "subtle" is a bad thing, but to me it´s the most important one. I want people to think i smell nice, but i don´t want my fragrance to be the most attention-grabbing thing about me.

Caldrumr

A somewhat feminine-leaning, generic tea fragrance.
This is one of my least favorite Creeds.
Very expensive, but not very interesting.
For the same vibe, there are a million boring designer fragrances out there for a fraction of the price.

earflap

Great scent! I don't know what people are expecting regarding performance, but I get a full work days worth. For a fresh scent I would call that a pass!

Toivo

Stunning fragrance. Beautiful scent. I think it leans more for spring and summer but is suitable for all year round. Projects like crazy on my skin for like 3 maybe even 4 hours and then lingers on skin for many more hours. I can sometimes smell it next day even.
I think the scent itself leans more for male about 25 years old and older and for day time use. But really this could be worn anywhere anytime by anyone. Amazing fragrance. Although Creed are expensive as hell i think that if you have money to spend this one is really good choise.

Tinabill

Creed’s SMW

Image invoked: the scent worn by Mark Darcy and Rebecca Gillies for the ski holiday in Lech, Austria, while Bridget Jones wears Pink sugar 🤣.

Review: The opening here has the right amount of sharpness to convey icy cold air, a balanced amount of “metallic-ness” of a mountain top. Synthetic but the higher quality is detected on side by side comparison to a dupe; Silver Al-Rehab. You feel it is intentional to convey this certain image and feel in SMW.
The black currant is more inky than SAR, also it’s a tad sweeter here so it feels more truly unisex.
Base softly resinous and woodsy but still fresh. I would have loved to smell more galbanum.

Projection (new batch): a decent scent bubble but less than an arms’ length for the first hour or two.
Longevity around 5 hours but as a skin scent for the last 3 hours. Occasional whiffs with movement and breeze are still sensed.
The aura is of classy freshness, cold and distant but unique and thus not for everyone.

Silver Al-Rehab

Image invoked: Dumb and dumber movie when Harry gets his tongue stuck to an icy 🥶 metal pole on a ski trip.

Review: I first got SAR around 2 years ago. 1st impression: chemical war zone. The initial spray was super sharp, synthetic and metallic, sending chills down your back. I thought if SMW smells like this I don’t want to even try it. I pushed it to the back of the drawer until I decided to revisit it today as I’ve come by a decanter selling as small as 5 ml decants of SMW (at 10X the price of 35 ml of SAR, go figure).
To my surprise, SAR seems to have macerated well in those two years. The top notes are not half as bad as when first purchased. Still synthetic, sharp and metallic but way more tolerable now. The heart has some inky black currant and green tea as well but is less sweet than SMW.
Base keeps getting better but is now very soft and more woodsy but still fresh. No florals detected.

Projection, around an arms’ length for the fist hour then a close scent bubble.
Longevity around 4 hours.
Scent aura very harsh when fresh. Becomes softer and closer to SMW after macerating, it is less sweet and leans more masculine though.

Last verdict: 90% of people won’t detect differences between a well macerated SAR and SMW. So please let’s not accuse one another of being deceitful and lying. Our perception and preferences are just different.
However, a trained nose or if SMW is your signature/love you’ll definitely spot the differences easily.

As for me I choose to be Bridget John’s.

ShaunMichael

I’ve noticed something. The more expensive the fragrance….the more likely people are to say “it doesn’t last very long”. I guess that’s better than saying “I can’t afford it” lol

dabeyondobsessedemperor

I can't lie, when I first tested this fragrance last year, I wasn't fond of it at ALL. I found it peppery and harsh, and slightly milky (not in a good way). I was convinced that it was one of Creed's biggest letdowns.

Then I tested it again last month.

Oh...my...God.

Either my tastes developed, or my nose was acting funky last year when I tried it, or something, because THIS was cool, clean scent heaven.

One of the freshest niche fragrances I've laid my nose upon, and I'm not kidding. The name is so perfect, as it smells like milky snow and icy, cloudy mountain air. It's got quite a beautiful transformation from opening to heart to drydown, which is a craft Creed has absolutely perfected compared to other fragrance houses, in my opinion. It opens with a chilly, cold and unwavering scent profile neutralized by refreshing citruses. The heart then begins to explore a supple fruitiness along with a lactonic green tea note, possibly my favorite tea note I've smelled yet. Finally, the drydown sweeps in with woody musks and further fruity notes, but still maintains the aroma of the delicate green tea. The overall composition feels extremely clean and calming, almost like something you'd want to bathe yourself in. Oh, it's intoxicating.

Performance-wise, this fragrance is a bit of a hit or miss. On some days it could last 14+ hours, even through sleeping and into the following morning, and on others it could require you to re-apply after 4-5 hours. It depends. Projection is pretty consistently amazing, though, and people will be complimenting your cologne while standing up to 5 feet away from you. This brings me to my next point--the fact that this is an INSANE compliment magnet. It's not a traditionally seductive fragrance, but f*ck...does it draw people's attention. You'll feel like a boss wearing this.

I can't think of specific occasions where I'd wear this cologne--mostly because I'd wear it on literally any given day in the warmer months. Casual outing, nature day, meeting, in the house, Netflix and chill, fancy date...it doesn't matter. I'd wear it for any of the above.
Creed's Silver Mountain Water has been one of the greatest surprises to me so far. It went from being one of my least favorite Creeds to one of my absolute favorites (perhaps second only to Green Irish Tweed). I'm so glad I gave this fragrance a second chance, so consider this a sign for you to go ahead and give a second chance to a fragrance you turned your nose up on last time. You never know, you might just be pleasantly surprised like I was.

I have a very rare 2007 120ml of SMW and love it's punchy deep refreshing inky vibe which I particularly love, however i recently I tested latest batches from a well known store and was stunned at what creed is passing now as SMW , such a diluted poor shadow of a great fragrance. In under an hour I could barely smell it , very sad .. if you can get an early bottle " grab it " !

strike_trike

Bought a new bottle, batch F000249. Great opening scent with a crisp top note, the middle note and base note last quite a while throughout the day. I've worn this with four spray and it lasts about a good 6 hours straight. However, I was in door almost the entire day, only got out for lunch about 30 mins and came back during afternoon. The scent and sillage were still there surprisingly! Worth the wait and definitely will wear this more often.

atticus4

My god this is an amazing scent! I never tried this because I have a bottle of Xerjoff Mefisto Gentiluomo which smells simillar, love that scent as well but SMW is special! After trying a sample, ordered a full bottle and it lasts 8 hours or more for me so maybe got a good 2020 batch! Love that tea scent and to my nose it's not as floral/feminine as Gentiluomo.

Andrew.R

Clean and subtle. Very pleasant.

rawnuhld

Paid $70 on offerup locally for a 3.3oz bottle (2 year old batch with no cap, tester probably, original box included) and really this did not disappoint. Now I wouldn’t say I would pay retail price for this, but damn does it smell pleasant. Very fresh and crisp, like breathing in air from the Swiss Alps. Now I’m only 21 and my nose is more accustomed to DG LBI, BDC EDP, YSL Y EDP, etc., but I also love green tea. Don’t really know why it reminds me a little of Issey Miyake L’eau D’issey, which I also have, but SMW isn’t as sharp. The dry down must be my favorite as it’s smooth and well-rounded. Lasts around 5-6 hours on my skin, which isn’t bad, but I was expecting more longevity out of a $350 cologne. Not that I know anything about “old batches of Creed” since this is my first bottle, but this introduction to Creed was blissful. I would even say it’s my first “niche” cologne. Shout out to the lady that was only selling this for $70 man. SMW is truly an experience to come by.

irunoncoffee

By now, all that can probably be said about this fragrance has probably already been said.

It's a scent some will like and will be inoffensive to others (yet to find anyone who absolutely abhors it). It doesn't impose itself on others or the space you're in, and therefore wont piss people off (very important for those of us that have office jobs). All that aside though, it's a scent that I wear first and foremost for myself. I like how it smells on me and it makes me a bit happier - and that's enough for me to wear it on a consistent basis.

I do wish it would last a bit longer (2 sprays lasts 4-5 hours on me), but finding a fragrance I like with low projection and high longevity is just about impossible and you do usually have to compromise somewhere.

I've tried a few of the clones over the years (Armaf's Sillage, etc.), but they just don't do it like Silver Mountain Water does it. Oddly enough despite all the clone attempts, the fragrance I liked the most of the 'others' with similar 'vibes' was Slate by Banana Republic that I smelled over a decade ago - and that also had longevity issues of its own.

Long story short - it's incredible and the real stuff leaves the competition in the dust.

WoodyCitrus

On paper this was quite pleasant and definitely evokes images of fresh clear mountain water, there is a bright crispness to this that’s uncommon, especially as they’ve decided to forgo the usual citrus opener common to this style of fragrance. Instead you get a subtle blast of fresh icy water, some greens and the cold dampness of stone. On my skin however the underlying metallic note that normally gives this its silver moniker is basically all I get, just a blast of metallic ink and nothing else, so a pass for me personally, but definitely worth trying. Likely overpriced but I can’t say I’ve smelled much like it. Armaf’s Sillage is definitely channeling this but its opening is nothing but ink both on and off paper, which is poor compared to the freshness you get here.

So I finally got around to this one after putting it off due to supposed “performance issues.”

I applied it this morning around 4 hours later and I still get whiffs regularly. Probably one of the most impressive performing (that’s not meant to be beast mode projecting/staying power) scents I have. I’m very impressed.

I smelled sillage months ago before ever smelling this.

Sillage smells the same but this smells way better blended and has a milky smoothness and sparkle to it Sillage is lacking. I would not throw away the idea of trying this because of sillage if you like the DNA.

I liked Sillage somewhat, but this is way better. Gonna be wearing this a lot. It’s just one of those uplifting/good mood scents.

I can see this being worn any season thriving in spring summer, but something about it seems like it have a really nice cooling freshness in the winter.

Lot: F000467

Either my skin works well with this or they fixed the performance with the new batches. If there ever was an issue to begin with.

Lovesurf1

Mass appeal, wear anytime, fresh clean , has an inky scent to it too, compliment getter. Its a wonderful scent but so overpriced its ridiculous , you can find fresh scents for a fraction of the price that offer a similar experience. I would not buy it again for sure, and I prefer YSL Y edp , over this , but hey if you have the bucks to blow why not try it?

Niaz Gull

Love it

ktp2309

Had this way back around Y2K and only the lovely opening is left...the rest is spring water in a flacon sold at premium price. Apply this and watch the movie "Gone in 60 Sec." and you will have to reapply before it's over.
After finding Armaf - Sillage i'm never forking my hard earned cash out on this ever again. Granted, the opening of Sillage is a bit rough but the drydown is the closest thing you will come to vintage SMW and it goes on and on long after SMW is but a distant memory.
The dictionary defines Creed as "a set of (religious) beliefs"...well...call me an atheist.

NotthatScentsitive

The opening is amazing. Shame it loses a lot of the fresh fruity complexity on the drydown, it turns quite the boring light/green/woody smell. Also performance is absolutely horrible after 2 hours. All of it a shame since the opening is probably the best smelling freshie I've smelled.

clintjr82

Amazing blind buy. I bought a tester that was only sprayed a few times, 4 oz for deal I couldn't refuse so I took a chance. A fresh, tea green, ozone and almost rich paint smell scent. If you looking for niche freshy, look in to this one.

dosequis

Tried sample. I could not imagine paying so much for a fragrance that is mostly gone in under an hour. No way. Smelled the inky accord. So what. I see very little about this that makes this worth even 1/10th the price tag. It must have been better than this back in the day to justify the hype around it. What I experience now does not impress.

BigHomieSmellsGood

A 70 degree partly cloudy good day in a bottle. Wears like a comfortable hoodie that fits you perfectly. That's what this smells like.

Aggy 4

This is nice. Performance issues as mentioned below, I would agree with.

But in terms of pure scent, it’s good. I prefer the opening - one of those scents where you can picture what it’s called when you smell it - there is a sort of thick almost syrupy silvery stream up a mountain, fresh plants, wet grass, and cool air around you. The dry down goes a bit too fruity to be a complete love for me personally.

Someone from my past/childhood used to wear it, or something very similar, and I can’t quite figure out who. I have a sense it was a female teacher which might be why it leans more feminine in my head.

My main problem with this is I’m not sure where I’d wear it. It is flexible enough to be worn almost anywhere, I guess, but I could think of equally nice (if different) fragrances for virtually every situation, usually at a fraction of the cost.

I’d put this in a similar category to diptyque’s philosykos - it’s a wear at home when having a relaxing chilled Sunday morning and I want a fragrance that takes me somewhere else type of scent. Philosykos I also struggle to wear out of the house, but that is one of my favourite smells ever. SMW just isn’t quite enough of a love to make it bottle worthy, especially at the price.

amanda0727

It's nice pleasant citrusy scent. Smells high end but also smells like the lobby of the Park Hyatt NYC lol.

mrhapppy71

Definitely a unisex fragrance. Its black currents floral scent and white musk also floral mix with sandalwood sweet woody smell in the back. It also has a strong inky kind of smell that is unique. I give it an 8 out of 10. Leans more on feminine side in my opinion but its 2023. :)

SophiaViolette

Oh It’s stunning! The opening is an icy citrusy waterfall, then dries down with fresh green fruits and florals, all wonderfully blended with some Alpine and milky notes. Sporty and sophisticated, and you can tell how much work was put to get all these notes to blend perfectly together.

Absolutely unisex, leans more masculine. A male friend of mine wears this, I asked him and knew it was Silver Mountain Water! It’s very sexy with his skin chemistry (warm skin/warm weather).
Wear this during the winter and you will feel like Queen Snow. As a woman I can wear this very easily, I am on the hunt for more icy airy perfumes on my shelve and this is my next buy.

PS : Neroli needs to be added as It’s one of the top notes, per Creed’s website.

luismiguel.bahamundi

The scent itself is very pleasant; a beautiful, bright, and refreshing citrus smell. Sadly, the performance is very disappointing. If it had decent longevity it'd definitely be one of my favorites.

Lukasssss

This is my favorite from Creed. I can tell that the ingredients in this are of very high quality.
Fresh fragrances often tend to be sharp, but this is very soft and comforting yet still super fresh and crisp.
For some reason, the name Silver Mountain Water makes perfect sense to me. It has a coldness to it, like subzero temperature winter air. It has a wetness that is the polar opposite of damp or musty; it reminds me of cold, clear, running water in a small mountain creek. There is also a fresh sweetness in here - a mixture of black currant, green tea aroma, and just the right amount of musk.
The ingredients are blended to perfection and create a very pleasant warm-weather fragrance. Even if I described it as soft, I find it distinctly masculine - especially in the dry down.
It reminds me a lot of Xerjoff Casamorati Mefisto Gentiluomo, with the main difference being the prominent floral notes (lavender, violet) in the Xerjoff. I strongly prefer SMW.
I really enjoy this fragrance, but as all Creed fragrances, it is overpriced IMO. 7,5/10.

LHRunkel

This gem is so close to be my signature fragrance and very well may be in the near future. I feel its fits who I am like a glove. Will update review in more depth at later date. 8.4/10 (I consider 9/10 a perfect score, never rated 10/10)

Yalcin05

Im back with a new review for my newest batch 21R01. Not into batch hype i would say, but the scent really has changed.. and not for good. The performance on this did not care about the projection was always a small bubble around me.. but the scent now is really changed! It opens nice as it ones was, but the citrus is more light airy then before.. and then? It becomes a very very sweet musk scent.. no inky blackcurrant tea combo, not sandalwood base within a slight lemony touch.. I don’t understand why they would ruin their scents?

We are used to bad performance over many scents these days that I don’t care about that, but making the scent so flat boring and cheap? Common creed for what do you charge money? I’m sad, not for my purchase but for the fact I won’t smell this amazing perfume anymore.. buying a used one is very risky since it could be toxic smell.. I’m sad but good there are many other options to solve it.. but even tough mefisto is amazing, I really miss my older SMW

NonScents94

One of Creed's best fragrances: quality, unique and ethereal.
However performance could be better. Amarf's Sillage truly comes close for a lot less $.

catriiona

The orange and bergamot are bright and revitalising with that savoury, umami green tea underneath which gives the opening a melon-y feel. I don't get much blackcurrant. There is something so nostalgic about the combination of melon, green notes and musk... It's like a grown-up, sophisticated version of the Bath and Body Works cucumber melon and shoots me straight back to middle school in 2003. It dries down quickly to a clean, green, musky base which doesn't project much on me and performs modestly at best. I really prefer the first few minutes of it and I think I'd get bored of it quickly, so while it's lovely, it's not worth the price for me.

giorgioarmani

Honestly this fragrance can be used all year around. I used this today in cool weather and yes it did push through the cold (still keeping its great projection.

km424242

Bought this for my boyfriend last month and he absolutely loves it. It gives bright green tea with a hint of musk, a wonderful all-around utility scent. It lasts quite a long time, especially if it gets on clothes. Non offensive, good for office wear and for personal wear.

Waseem Ch

For me pure love, summer 💎 9.5/10

JustMyVibe

Reminds me of sunscreen, lotion, the acne cream I used in high school, and soap. My nose could pick it up for about 6 hours when I wore it.

Hawaii Jake

This is a lovely scent. I honestly think it's bracing. The citrus opening is quick and vibrant. On my skin, it quickly turns to tart black currant and musk and petitgrain with just the right amount of sandalwood underneath. I put it on an hour ago, and I'm sitting at my desk in the office, and I smell like an alpine meadow or stream. The scent does exactly what the perfumer wanted.

I get good performance. I get good sillage for an hour or two, and then it's a lovely skin scent that lasts for many more hours. I think this is definitely unisex. Creed fragrances are pricey, but everything is handmade. It's worth it.

pioneer9000

This is a really unique fragrance i keep coming back to. It's definitely crisp and fresh, the sandalwood backdrop is so pleasant, definitely feels like a hint of what you could call green apple or lime-ish. I wish Armaf Sillage was better, but Sillage has a strong rose accord to it that i don't get at all in SMW.

Edit: Purchased a bottle, too gorgeous and mood lifting to pass up!

Varo'sss Tomorrow

A lakeside run...

Sipping tea under a tree the morning after the storm. Today is the day that it all comes back to you.

Note: If you don't want to be sacrificed at the altar of Creed batches, do your own research before committing to your purchase. The review is referencing a bottle from 2016. What Creed has done to their fragrances as of late is an absolute travesty.

JasParekh

This smells really fresh and light. Love how it smells in the air. The performance is awful though. Longevity & Projection is almost non- existent. Love the smell, hate the performance. 💔

nickmvr

Very powerful... and stinky

likesleet

so good??? watery freshness, tea but like green apple ish. delicious and fresh

Felo

A freshie not like the blue mainstream. If this was a color it’d be a misty white gray haze- it’s fresh, almost cold in its scent but so comforting and fresh/clean musky it’s absolutely stunning. I will say that my first experience was this year with a 2008 batch. Citrus with icy grey musk, and a tea/corrant accord that gives it that slight inkiness that adds to the freshness and literally gives an silver mountain/earth feel. Older batches have better longevity.

ShaunMichael

Gorgeous scent and my favorite from this house.
As with all reviews on this site , people hate on fragrances they cannot afford. if you think I’m wrong, look at the reviews of scents under $75

seekingfires

this smells like pepper and rubbing alcohol to me. sad. i wish i could like this scent.

netosan

I read Steven Tyler loved it . I bought a bottle and it was Davidoff . Hated it and gave it to my dad.

Rouji Perfumes

Silver Mountain Water by Creed. I was excited by this fragrance. An unexpected clean, crispness to it. Opening with a cool freshness. You immediately sense the citrus - I got lime and mandarin. It lands on a gentle musky green note.

muhammadshaheerraza4

Feels like a punch of fresh oranges at the first spray then slowly starts to project musky notes, which are super strong to smell and hits the nose very hard. performance is pretty good, and it has become one of my favorite creed scents to be wore, in office and formal occasions. Definitely a more masculine fragrance, but not recommend for everyone, if you are allergic to strong fragrances.

Thighz4president

This is a dumb reach - it's clean to the point of being "cold." It's unisex, leaning masculine. The complaints about performance/sillage made me hesitant, but tbh this lasts longer than I want it to sometimes. It projects as well. I also recommend layering this under Virgin Island Water if you have it. ;)

eaudemale

Reformulated for the better. 2021 and up are longer lasting, fragrance is unchanged from previous versions but it takes longer to get to the drydown. I would say, an additional 2 hours of performance.

Cifrone Molare

Am extremely overpriced counter aftershave. Generic, dated.. a vague late ‘90s vibe. Steer away!

Enrium

Silver Mountain Water is a pleasant, slightly unusual take on a unisex cologne. High quality and nicely composed, it is light and inoffensive yet interesting when regarded closely.

SMW opens with a predictable citrus accord, bright and fresh. However, it is the tea and blackcurrant accord at the heart that sets this scent apart - it is slightly jarring, but really works. I am partial to a tea note, and here it is deeply fresh and cool, somehow bringing to mind the inside of a well. The blackcurrant is tart and acidic, like a freshly-plucked berry squeezed between finger and thumb. It is an unusual but satisfying freshness.

The base is green and woody, with mostly petitgrain and some hazy, vintage-style galbanum detectable. It fades to become generically musky and woody. Sillage and longevity are moderate.

Perfectly unisex, SMW is a creative take on a classic cologne, its unusual heart at odds with its conventional opening and drydown. A high quality hot weather scent. 4/5.

ryoshiho97

The citrusy opening notes of this is nothing special but the middle notes! Oh the middle note… It is official. I hate black currant note. It was made tolerable by the green tea note. I normally like musk and sandalwood notes. It must be the petit grain which I’m honestly not very familiar with. The dry down smells like some perfume in the 90s that my uncle used to wear in his youth. So in short, it smells like an old man to me. Uh… pass.

Panos Serras

Very unique, it literally gives that cold ice feeling like you are in a mountain very photorealistic fragrance!

hannessy21

Smells amazing, if you aren't a fan of green tea, I wouldn't worry about it, it doesn't stick out as much as everyone says. Performance is lackluster however :(

godzeke

Smelled this today and instantly decided to buy a 50ml bottle.

Beautiful musky tea scent, starts of citrussy and quickly becomes a faintly woody tea scent but still with a slight dash of citrus. I actually pick up a big bit of melon in this, especially in the opening. Honeydew melon-like. Very unisex fragrance, my mom loved this one so will be sharing it with her.

Got a 50ml of this for around 180$, hefty price considering longevity not being the greatest but I still love this.

ducklover02

Kind of blind bought this. Smells nice, kind of like expensive soap. For some reason it reminds me of millesime imperial, but definitely a worse version. It does smell unique and natural, but it doesn´t give me that Wow-Factor that MI gives me. SMW does have better performance though, but still not great. It´s hard to notice it after barely just an hour, but i can promise you other people will smell it. Don´t overspray it, let people notice it when they come close to you. Thats when you get the most positive reactions. Very easy to like, but not as easy to love.

aaronmy

This fragrance is pleasant and I love the tea note in this. There is a bit of animalic-ness to this scent, but barely noticeable and my nose has developed to a point where I don't mind it. It's very fresh and to me a little transparent. This projects for about 2 hours before it becomes a skin scent. On skin I got the idea of mountain water, but in the air I get more of the tea. For me, tea done a certain way sort of comes across as feminine strangely and this is one of them. Not as much as The Yulong by Armani, but just enough unfortunately. As much as I love this, I can't see myself wearing this. Therefore, I am still looking for a good tea note fragrance. Hopefully I will find one some day.

hperfume

I liked it at first, but then I didn't. It's fresh, but there is something "screechy" in it that made me feel as if I were chewing a metal spoon, a blade or something like that. Fresh but somehow unpleasant. Maybe it was just me.
And I don't like the idea of unisex fragrances at all. I think only objects should smell unisex. Unisex fragrances increase the chance of people smelling alike, as both men and women could choose the same fragrance, which IMHO, is a really bad thing.
Sorry for my broken English.

Manny44

This has changed quite a bit since I first tried this in 2013. I think it's significantly better and more balanced now. When I initially had it it was a foghorn blast of black currant, and I mean a BLAST. An absolute overdose of inky black currant on a base of sandalwood. Much more going on now I think...maybe it's a better batch, or maybe it's just that my nose is older. Now it's currant and tea with maybe the angelica that Creed uses in Royal Oud. It's powdery in a good way and has a progression, the galbanum that peaks out in the drydown is especially nice and surprises me everytime. Anyways, this is a really good perfume, lots of compliments. Shame prices here in the States for Creed are so high.

Squishyy

17Y01 Review

The Creed is the OG, and it's great. My gf likes this so it's an automatic winner for me, haha. Mine projects very well for 3 hours, then sits close to the skin for another 2-3hrs before disappearing. This is passable for me, but I know Creed and can confidently assume that newer batches will have worse performance. My batch smells very natural, smooth, and high quality. None of that Armaf metallic smelling accord.

Clones/Alternatives

Armaf Sillage — gets 90% close, but with a 35% drop in material quality. It feels synthetically metallic to me but has better performance. It’s a great budget option, after some maceration.

Xerjoff Mefisto — now this is the one you should probably buy over SMW if you want to spend luxury money on this dna, and not regret your purchase considering the modern Creed formulations. With both high quality and performance, you get what you pay for. Not a direct clone like Sillage is; inkiness is mostly gone, and it’s slightly more soapy + citrusy.

Need to get my nose on Gentiluomo.

julesmelly

Pleasant but certainly not worth the money. Just doesn't smell dynamic at all

ROUSAK

Great unisex fragrance. Lexury soap. So many good alternatives copies of this one so you wonder why you will pay creed price while you can get same smell alternative for fraction of the price. Any way high quality great fragrance. 8/10

batch cũ của em này cực cực ngon, cụ thể là batch 16 mùi trà mát lạnh sang trọng, cực kỳ unique, best của best mùi trà, Russian tea, Ormondo Jayne Qi, Thé Cachemire Dior, Wulong Chá ko có tuổi luôn. CHÊ!!!!! bản cũ: 9,9/10; bản mới: 1/10.

lithohydrobio

2013 batch here.

Fizzy shimmering orange and lemon squeezed over a glass of ice with a earthy “rainy atmosphere” dry down.

Are you a newcomer? Take some minerals from an untouched mountain side and put them in a glass and pour water over them and then listen to the sound. That sound is how this smells. Bright life essence percolating through earthly stone.

Creed house destroys the competition once again.

Incredible!

Let_it_be

My favourite of all the Creed. Believe it or not, Creed's perfume smells better when aged. My bottle smells better now than it did 5 years ago. I can't say that for any other fragrances, they become rancid after a few years. Maybe Creed aged like fine wine?

This is a blackcurrant scent, enriched with realistic tea notes - it smells like a cool breeze in the alp. It's the simplicity that makes this the best one.

ShaunMichael

One of my favorites. It smells extremely unique. Soft but strong. Clean but dusty. Warm but cool. However I wish for the price it would be more long lasting

ifimbeinghonest

I purchased this fragrance two years ago, in 2020 and I am yet to waste all 100ml. I fell in love with the smell from the first spray and have been loving it ever since. The green tea is just perfection. I received a compliment wearing SMW as I was quite far away from the person which shocked me — considering I did not expect it to have good projection because of people talking bad on Creed's latest reformulations.

Short and simple — it is good, I will buy it again after it is finished and will most likely be my signature scent in the summer. Try it out yourself before you knock it. 9/10.

mermaidshimmer

I'm currently testing a sample of this fragrance and I really like it so far. It definitely leans more masculine but I do think it's a unisex fragrance. The notes are sweet and herbal at the same time: a combination that reminds of Irish Springs soap. The sillage seems soft but I'm really enjoying wearing it at work. I just wish it weren't so pricey.

Bearded_King

I hear and see people complain about SMW longevity. But for me, this thing is strong and last long enough. To be honest, not all fragrances need to have beast mode performance and stellar longevity. It just need to do its job. I for sure get attention when I’m around others, but the fragrance itself compliments me.
Tip- to boost its longevity, use a scentless moisturizer (Vaseline, coconut oil, etc) on skin before applying. And for added projection, spray on both skin and clothes. Scented lotions will diminish the profile of the fragrance

Jagaban

A need. It’s mouth watering and almost stoic due to a slight metallic undertone. It definitely has a mountainous/atmospheric aroma, like a fresh snow at dawn, a cold scent but very alluring. It becomes more subtle and airy on dry down but I think that adds to the cold/distant impression and is very pleasant as the projection seems to continue on for quite a while. I would love a full bottle, but even then I have no problem buying testers just to re experience the scent even if momentarily.

Moneybag6

I had a sample of this about 2 weeks ago,,, it smelt good I liked it. But after reading comments and knowing the brand of creed I’m pretty sure the performance is either horrible or unacceptable for the price point. Today I went to Macy to get another bottle of my beloved ysl y edp that I ran out of as I’m walking out I see a tester of 212,, when I picked it up and sprayed it,, it smelt exactly like silver mountain water, and I smelt it on me for hours.😳😳😳😳 soo everyone I think I found the designer version of silver mountain water

The Wolf

Testing this again after having not worn it in a couple years to see if my feelings about SMW changed for the better.
I like the inspiration for this fragrance more than the fragrance itself. The open is sharp, airy, metallic, and I get the ink. The opening is my favorite part and it only lasts about 45 seconds. After that, you get some black currant, tea, and boring musk. I normally love musk and particularly the musk creed used to use, which they have reduced or reformulated.

This is supposed to be inspired by a snowy mountain and stream but it fails and is an incredibly mundane experience. If you want a better snow experience then check out Frederick Malle L'Eau d'Hiver, Memo Russian Leather or Zoologist Snowy Owl. ❄️

Another nail in the coffin is that Armaf Sillage does Creed Silver Mountain Water better than Creed does their own fragrance these days. Royal Water, Royal Oud, Spice and Wood, and Erolfa are the only Creed fragrances worth considering these days. I have no doubt that they will eventually destroy those fragrances as well.

Scent 5/10
Performance 5/10

Cassandra_Lyris

So, I actually really like this one...for the 40 minutes or so that it lasted. 😒
The tea note in this one is fantastic...while it lasts. I'm a bit sorry that I never experienced this one before it got cut so severely for its IRFA reformulation. If this lasted 5-6 hours I could actually (almost) understand the price it goes for. But, the way it is now, absolutely not. So for that I'll relegate this to the like pile and enjoy it while it lasts. And yes, I am the one wearing this one too. Hubby took one test sniff of this one and said, "Smells like baby wipes." and surprisingly on him it did! His skin sort of eats up citrus notes, whereas mine enhances them (sometimes too much) but this one was nice. A little Light Blue base and no one batted an eye while I was out running around. It was great in the heat...for an hour...sigh...😥
So, am I going to plunk down $300+ for this one? Nope, I'd be hesitant to do that even if its longevity weren't so problematic. Am I going to check out some of those recommended dupes? Absolutely, yes. I hope they captured the green tea note. I'll review them too, when I find out. For now I'll just sit here mildly envious of you who have vintage bottles of this to enjoy. I hope you go out there and smell fantastic today. 🥰

I remember my 2014 batch. 6 sprays and 12+ hours whafts during a day outside in Amsterdam with 22 Celsius degrees. Well that was a performer! A inky note with that green tea vibe was amazing. Back tot 2022 batches. It smells like a dupe of it unfortunately. Performance wise it’s not even worth mentioning it but have tbh that it only stays for an hour. So I sold my new bottle and bought mefisto gentluomo from Xerjoff which I prefer above this for sure! Yet another scent destroyed by creed.. my all time favourite is a history now

The product now in 2022 bears no comparison to the version from around 2012. It's lost the inkiness and seems to be missing the complexity it once had.

To me this smells like a watered down version of Millesime Imperial, that is, if I can actually smell it, because it doesn't really project and last. Definitely try this first.

Very nice, somewhat creamy but still sparkly, citrusy green tea.

Black currant is faintly recognizable, bergamot and mandarin are not detectable, might be because they are very well blended, or because they are simply unnoticeable by design. Sandal and musk are also in the mix, bringing their creamy selfs to the table.

It smells fresh generic but in a classy and luxurious sort of way. I understand the Mefisto comparisons, they are very similar, especially with Mefisto Gentiluomo, which instead of green tea has violet, but other than that they are quite the same.

Projection is moderate, as expected for any fresh scent, and longevity is only a couple of hours.

Nice classy green tea scent with terrible performance… not sure it was worth the Creed price tag.

Recently got my hands on a 2013 batch of this juice and its less citrusy and way more ink-y and longer lasting than actual batches.

I’m a bit disappointed by the short longetivity of this for the price, and the offputting metallic smell it has because of the musk and blackcurrant. I should have expected that given the title but I thought the green tea would be stronger. I had high hopes for this since it was Bowie’s signature scent but it’s more of a typical male cologne to me. I honestly don’t think this should be advertised as a unisex fragrance. I’ll still wear it but probably layer it with something that brings out the green tea note because that’s the best part of Silver Mountain Water.

Had a 33 ml decant of this, from a bottle that was before 2019.
It was amazing. Great performance, i had a lot of compliments on it, especially women. You can feel that is made with quality ingredients, it just smelles like that. Given the fact that Aventus is now copied all over and the smell doesnt stand out that much anymore...i see this as a better fragrance than Aventus at least when i wore it back in 2019. Good stuff!

Please buy this on discounters. Extremely overpriced at full retail for an indistinct and reformulated perfume. It's very likeable and inoffensive, but lacking in performance.

This is the most expensive bottle of 'not much' I have ever experienced; I don't get the level of hype thrown behind this; I really am not impressed. It's very standard. I wished it 'did' more for me than just being a very ok scent.

I have this amazing perfume from 2003 batch. Beautiful, alluring and definitely comforting fragrance through and through. It opens with mild icy metallic lemon tea that lingers for 5-10 minutes before dusty blackcurrant took over the whole projection. It mellowed to a really addictive skin-scent drydown. A masterpiece, indeed

I have 2/3 closer to 3/4 of 100ml bottle 2020 batch, purchased from creed in Fenwicks (Newcastle, U.K.) in late 2021 and opened early this year (2022) and would love to swap for another creed I prefer or perhaps something else. Guess I won’t get any aventus which would be my ideal swap? But would love Viking cologne or Himalaya. Get in touch if interested. This isn’t my vibe.

Received a 2ml sample from Nordstrom. I must ask; how did Aventus become more popular than this? Must be the inky notes that causes SMW to have such polarizing opinions? To my nose this is a masterpiece, only wished it lasted longer....

Apparently this fragrance was said to be lauded by Bowie so much that he always carried a bottle with him... An eccentric, 100% yes... but the man had amazing taste.

Anybody that prefers Aventus over SMW (especially now in 2022) is having a laugh. Aventus is nothing special and I'd wager there's plenty of fragrances out there from Creed's offerings that are vastly superior to Aventus. This isn't 2013 anymore...

Got a sampler, here are my thoughts:
Starts off smelling like a pleasant cooling citrus, it reminds me off taking ice cold showers in a particularly fiery summer and using my cousin's premium hairgel/shampoo. Pleasant but generically boring.

10 minutes later: the citrus has gradually mellowed into an ever so slightly minty and very light floral scent. There is a spicy note that definitely gives it a tiny sharp touch that adds a much needed depth.

The mellow down: Its very sweet, way too sweet for my taste. Sniffing it is borderline cloying and dizzying. The mid notes smelled much better and more nuanced.

Good thing i got a sampler. What a disappointment.

If this could last a little longer it’d easily be my top 3, but it smells so good that even then it’s probably still in my top 5 at least as far as scents go. Please note that as far as my taste goes putting sillage and perfomance and all that aside my favorite actual scents would be Layton, Herod, Ysl Nuit, jazz club and even avenris although i never wear it anymore.

first time i tested two sprays with a decant i ordered and after 30 minutes i couldn’t smell anything. i sprayed it on my shirt once incase and same thing. I had changed and smelled my shirt 5 6 hours later and it was definitely gone and i wasnt nose blind. I was bummed and figured all the reviews were right about how weak it is.

I waited months and figured id probably never buy it anyway. This time I sprayed it three times and it lasted two almost three hours projecting and the one spray on my wrist lasted on my wrist a little 4 hours.

This just smells too good and is easily addicting
I change my mind and I think I am going to add it to my collection, most likely even my next purchase
Plus that bottle just looks so cool

Masterpiece.
One of my favorite scent. Light pleasant harmony of begamot, mandarin combined with green tea and woody notes.
As the creator told it remembers of the scents of alpes. Indeed, I always feel that I m somewhere in the mountains.
Very unic, pleasant, classic, elegant fragrance.
