Directly Reports To: Section Lead
Deputy Team Lead is responsible to assist Team Leader in supervising the assigned personnel (e.g., National Advisors, Translators, and administrative assistants).
Job Requirements :
Duties: The Deputy Team Leads shall:
- Assist Team Leader in supervising the assigned personnel (e.g., National advisors, translators, and administrative assistants)
- Advise and assist counterparts in performing their functions, including developing policies, plans and projects
- Help to manage advisors and ensure that their work is consistent
- Identify needs within the GIROA ministries in conjunction with international advisors and the Afghan national advisors
- Help to organize special projects
- Help to coordinate donor efforts
- Assist key departments in developing plans and projects to perform their functions and strengthen communications between central and provincial offices
- Liaise with other offices and coordinate activities to achieve established objectives
- Report to and perform related duties as assigned by TL, DSL or SL
- File reports for activities and accomplishments on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, or as otherwise assigned
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including, but not limited to, local government officials; police and prosecutors; international organizations involved in the justice sector; Afghan organizations involved in the justice sector; and customary and traditional law actors
- Prepare budgets, work plans, and statements of work; submit deliverables, conduct trainings, and insure timely submission of team timesheets, leave, and travel requests
- Rapidly respond to requests for information from INL/K and INL/AP
- Other duties as directed
Qualifications:
- Minimum five years of professional experience, including providing support to international donor projects
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in law, social science, international development, public policy and administration, or related field
- Experience collaborating with Afghan government ministries and institutions
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with cross-sectoral key stakeholders to ensure collaboration to meet project goals
- Demonstrated understanding of Afghan legal system
- Past experience developing and implementing relevant training courses preferred
- Ability to travel to provinces
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Fluent in Dari/Pashto, and English
