THEY SAID IT IS NOTHING. OBVIOUSLY THIS WAS A TENSE SITUATION FOR A FEW MINUTES BECAUSE IT IS THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND. IN THE DISTANCE YOU CAN SEE THERE ARE EXTRA POLICE AROUND HERE THAT ARE INVESTIGATING THIS AREA. THEY ARE ON ROUTINE PATROL. BECAUSE IT IS A HOLIDAY, SOMEONE SAW THAT BACKPACK THAT IS SUSPICIOUS, REPORTED TO POLICE. THERE WERE SOME BOMB GUYS OUT HERE INVESTIGATING THE SCENE. GOOD NEWS AND BRICKTOWN, IF YOU WERE HEADED TO THE BOAT DISTRICT TO WATCH FIREWORKS, THIS AREA IS BACK OPEN TONIGHT. IT IS CLEAR AND THERE ARE EXTRA PATROLS, BUT THAT WAS SCHEDULED. SOME GOOD NEWS AFTER THIS LITTLE BIT OF A SCARE EARLIER TODAY.

Authorities have given the "all-clear" after investigating a suspicious package found Wednesday evening in Bricktown.According to police, a suspicious backpack was found near Flaming Lips Alley and South Oklahoma Avenue. Police quickly cleared the nearby area and shut down the Bricktown Canal.The bag has been deemed safe and the Fourth of July festivities will continue, police said.
