Whether you've been dreading Facebook Timeline or waiting for your friends to get it, soon all users worldwide will have the new profile layout.

Facebook said today in an updated blog post that "over the next few weeks, everyone will get Timeline."

Until recently, users were able to opt-in to Timeline; now they will be automatically switched over. When you get Timeline, however, you'll have a seven-day preview period, during which you can delete the content that is on your profile and hide what you don't want displayed.

When it first revealed Timeline, Facebook said it would eventually roll out to all users because it does not have the capacity to host two separate profile layouts.

The social network first in early December in order to monitor speed and performance in an English-speaking country. That testing apparently went well, and about a week later, Facebook made Timeline .

Timeline was originally and functions as a digital scrapbook of your life. Once you've gotten it, you can browse through your entire Facebook history, from your first friend to your most recent status update, with the option to add important life events.

"Timeline gives you an easy way to rediscover the things you shared, and collect your most important moments," Paul McDonald, an engineering manager on the Timeline team, said in the blog post. "It also lets you share new experiences, like the music you listen to or the miles you run."

Facebook has not specified how long the rollout will take, nor has it publically set a deadline for when all profiles will have the feature.

If you want to go ahead and get Timeline on your own, you can head to facebook.com/about/timeline and click the "Get Timeline" button on the bottom right.

At a San Francisco event last week, "Timeline Apps," which are social applications that will plug into the Facebook Timeline and update your friends via the new Ticker. For more, see
