I’m on vacation until September 15th, but I still want to update the blog with as many interesting things as I can. I’d like to try something new, and see if anyone enjoys it.
What I’d like to try first is…a Fan Art Contest!
A new Metal Gear Solid game just came out, so I think it would be appropriate to ask people to draw Yandere-chan cosplaying as Quiet from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain!
The winner of the contest will receive a Steam code for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and a code for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain! I’ll also be happy to link to your DeviantArt/Tumblr/whatever you’ve got, so that everyone can check out more of your artwork.
The deadline for the art contest is September 13th. On September 14th, I’ll make a blog post naming the winner of the contest, and show off the illustrations that almost won the contest.
The contest rules are:
- You’re allowed to include multiple characters in the illustration. For example: Yandere-chan perched on the school rooftop, aiming a sniper rifle at Osana Najimi as she talks to Senpai-kun.
- You’re allowed to modify Quiet’s clothing so that Yandere-chan is wearing a cross between her normal school uniform and Quiet’s clothing, or just draw Quiet’s clothing with 100% accuracy.
- You’re allowed to submit more than one illustration, although this does not increase your chances of winning.
- September 13th is the final day that you’re allowed to submit your illustration. I will not accept any submissions past September 13th.
- You must include the words “Quiet Contest” in your e-mail’s subject line, or else it may be impossible for me to find your entry among all of the e-mails that I receive every day.

I’m so into this! I have an idea for it already thumbnailed up!
Two questions:
1 Does the drawing style have to be anime to show it’s Yandere chan or can we take liberties in that we can draw in whatever our style is which may or may not be more detailed than anime?
2. What email do we use, I looked all over this and don’t see.

aaah I’m personally not interested in entering this contest but i’d love to see more in future. Monthly does sound like a good idea. I’d definitely love to draw Yandere-chan some day. :^) Have a good break!

What is there to be nervous about? You will lose. Accept failure as the obvious and logical end to attempting this contest. Virtually everyone who enters this will lose/fail. Simply enter for fun if you think it will be fun.

I don’t have a clue what is “rude” about this comment. Perhaps I worded it weirdly and/or it should be re-read in good faith.
Unless you consider acknowledging that there will be far more entrants than prizes and the statistical likelihood of failure should not factor into one’s enjoyment of entering rude.
I think the way Wally meant to say was, sometimes you’ll lose and that’s okay. It’s all a matter of trial and error. All you have to do is have fun with it.
It’s just a simple misunderstanding, and it could have been worded better. But at least the message came across. He’s just trying to support all of us that may not make the cut, but we’ll still have fun doing it! Making art is supposed to be fun!
In my honest opinion, it’s totally normal to be nervous! All artists get nervous with their work, because in art, YOU are your worst critic. But you can never improve if you don’t leave your comfort zone! Believe in yourself, and say “SCREW IT! I NEED TO DO THIS!” And trust me, you’ll never regret it! 🙂

Yes, that’s pretty awesome.
But I don’t really think the unity engine can carry such graphics.
yes it can, but take’s alot of hard work.
Unity engine can carry much better that that graphic, just look at unity chan playground and that graphic or at the newest illusion games.
I think yandev would find this funny haha. But yansim itself is actually better, this was made with MMD a very old and shitty program. It’s just that the person who made it has skill. Unity is much, much better than MMD.
Totally, i still remember pewdiepie’s old old old animations in MMD, so shitty.
That’s why YandereDev need to in improve graphics hehe he is not using even 10% of unity engine itself.
Note aside, Yandere chan needs a better laugh reccord.
The current sounds forced and unatural. Mastering a intentional,real laugh is indeed hard, but not impossible.
I think it is supposed to sound forced and unnatural, to empathize what a monster Yandere-chan is.
The only direction I would imagine it changing in would be more forced and unnatural, like the “MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA” of yore.

OMG I’m not entering this but I REALLY want to see the winning and almost-winning drawings 😀
I’m a big fan of his work, but would like to be able to understand the texts and I know that other Brazilians also fail, so I ask you to add subtitles in Portuguese (Brazil) in Yandere, since Brazil has the 2nd largest public.
(Sou um grande fan do seu trabalho, mas gostaria de poder entender os textos e sei que outros brasileiros tambem não conseguem , por isso peço para você adiciona legendas em Português(Brasil) no Yandere ,já que o Brasil possui o 2º maior publico.)
I know it really doesn’t have to do with this, but what about adding an easter egg where a boy (weird or unusual one) comes and talks to you when your reputation drops because he though the rumors couldn’t be true and you must be really lonely. So you would get an old fashioned shoujo ending as an easter egg; maybe the boy can just be an annoyance too. Either way an easter egg like that when your reputation drops would be utterly fantastic.
