Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Inc. is the FIRST multicultural sorority in the nation. Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Incorporated was founded on November 21, 1981, at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ. Since we were established MSU has provided women with a means of progress and empowerment while celebrating diversity. Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Inc. takes great interest in the growth and enrichment of our surrounding communities. Our founding mothers’ primary goal was to create an organization that focused on the needs of every woman, regardless of race, religion, class or creed, hence our motto: "Mujeres Siempre Unidas". All sisters of MSU strive to attain the sorority’s three main goals: academic excellence, unity among all women, and to be active in the university and community.
