r/ChromeOS Rules

Rule 1. Follow Reddit's site-wide rules and Reddiquette

Reddit content policy

Rediquette.

Rule 2. Keep it constructive

No rude, offensive or hateful posts or comments. Negative opinions are welcome and encouraged but they should be constructive (e.g., no pointless rants).

Good negative post: "Why is Bluetooth still so terrible on Chrome OS?"

Bad negative post: "Pixel Slate is mega suxx0r just get a Surface trololo"

Rule 3. Keep it Chrome OS

Posts should be directly related to Chrome OS, Chromebooks, Chrome OS tablets, Chromeboxes, etc. Posts that mention other operating systems are allowed, but the focus has to be on Chrome OS. (e.g., "I want to switch from a Macbook to a Chromebook. Advice?" is fine.)

Rule 4. Spam, links, and low-effort posts

Spam and low-effort posts, such as "Top 10 Chrome Extensions" blogs, are not allowed and will be removed. This includes misleading web pages, clickbait, and spam sites.

If posting an article, video, etc., use the original title of the linked content as your post title. Don't editorialize it.

Memes and joke posts are allowed but only if they follow all other rules of the subreddit.

Rule 5. Breaking school/organization rules

Posts requesting or giving information about circumventing organization locks by schools, employers, etc. will be removed.

Rule 6. Piracy

Piracy is not allowed. Directly linking to copyrighted material (such as Android APKs) will be considered piracy and as such will be removed.

Rule 7. Giveaways, buying, and selling

We don't allow giveaways, personal buying/selling posts, hardware swaps, surveys, etc. unless authorized by a moderator.

Linking to device sales (e.g., $300 off Pixelbook on the Google Store) is allowed as long as it's from a reputable source/seller. (This does not include eBay sellers with good reviews, since that still counts as a "personal buying/selling" post.) Reputable sources would be the Google Store, Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg, etc.

Rule 8. Self-promotion

Self-promotion, such as a developer wanting to promote their work, is only allowed when approved by a moderator. Send us a modmail for more info.

Rule 9. NSFW Content

r/chromeos is a subreddit for everyone! NSFW content is not allowed, which includes: Excessive swearing, links to NSFW sites, and screenshots that have visible tabs/bookmarks to NSFW sites.

Rule 10. Mods have final say

Moderators reserve the right to mute and ban anyone they see fit, and remove any post at their own discretion.
