Leicester City have sacked three players, including manager Nigel Pearson’s son James, after a thorough investigation into the sex video which tarnished the club’s tour of Thailand.

Pearson, Tom Hopper and Adam Smith have had their contracts terminated after the trio were filmed in an orgy in which a Thai woman was racially abused.

The shocking video showed defender Pearson, 22, naked in a hotel room as Thai women were filmed engaging in a sex act while forward Hopper, 21, and goalkeeper Smith, 22, were also shown lying naked in a bed laughing.

Leicester flew the players home after the video was leaked on to social media and have now dismissed them after a disciplinary process which began nearly a fortnight ago.

Following Leicester’s remarkable escape from relegation, a tour of Thailand was arranged as part of a "strategic partnership" with the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

But the goodwill tour was marred by the video which heaped huge embarrassment on the Midlands club, Pearson and the club’s owners.

A statement read: “Leicester City Football Club has notified Tom Hopper, Adam Smith and James Pearson that their contracts with the club have been terminated.

“The decision follows the conclusion of an internal investigation and disciplinary proceedings, as a consequence of events that took place during the club’s end-of-season goodwill tour of Thailand.

“Leicester City Football Club is acutely aware of its position, and that of its players, as a representative of the city of Leicester, the Premier League, the Football Association and the club’s supporters. It is committed to promoting a positive message of community and family values and equality, and to upholding the standards expected of a club with its history, tradition and aspirations.”

Of the three men, only Pearson has made a first team appearance, in Leicester’s Carling Cup defeat by Shrewsbury Town.
