...INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT OF ART & CRAFT  ITAC 2017

Over the past few weeks we have been working frantically behind the scenes to prepare a tournament that is not like any other, one that is original and stuffed full of interesting things to discover and creative delights to enjoy. We wanted to think big so it’s a tournament on a global scale, and that’s important to AALL & Create because one of our key objectives is to bring together the many communities of artists around the world under one roof to allow people to discover different styles, techniques and ways of working and to enable an exchange of ideas and break down barriers between some of those communities.

The aim of this tournament is to inspire you, so that you not only enjoy yourself but so that everyone can enjoy participating in something creative together.

Over the course of five weeks, between the August, 11th and September, 08th, our five teams, including international guest artists representing the five continents of the world, will be setting a series of five challenges, each with its own theme, set of instructions, tips, tutorials and masterclasses to inspire you.

After this there will be the grand final, which will be the sixth and final challenge the September, 15th.

It will be a friendly and laidback competition and only one deadline at the end of the competition September, 24th – the most important thing will be to have fun !

How to take part ;

  • Create a piece of artwork following the theme and instructions given by the artists for each challenge.

  • Post your work on the AALL & Create Fanatics Facebook group [HERE] in the relevant album for the challenge. Please note that only work posted in the correct albums will be eligible for inclusion.

  • Anyone who does not have a Facebook account but who still wants to take part can do so by posting their work on their own blog or website and emailing the link to contact@aallandcreate.com or just by mailing us the image of the work.

  • AND post your work on your own social networking account pages and/or blogs along with the link and the hashtag for the challenge. (These will be made available as each individual challenge is launched).

This tournament is open to everyone! You don’t need to be signed up and there aren’t any other conditions.

At the end of the tournament, after the deliberations of the judging panels, there will be lots of prizes for the winners and special bonuses for the other participants, thanks to our generous sponsors and partners.

But that's not all! Some of our sponsors have confirmed the exciting news that they are going to use this tournament to discover some new talent to recruit to their design teams DT! Ssssh, don't tell them that we have let the cat out of the bag! LOL

If you want to take part in the tournament, while you are waiting for the start why don’t you share the news on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter…etc. or on your own blogs/websites with our image (below) to say that your are taking part, the link for the tournament and these hashtags #itac17 #AALLtournament2017 #aallandcreate

Some fabulous international artists have accepted our invitation to join the ranks of AALL & Create for this exciting event and they will be bringing their own unique creative styles, which will all add up to make this a really special tournament that you won’t want to miss out on.

I am a Polish scrapbooker, mixed media artist, designer, teacher and owner of the company 13 arts. My biggest passion is creating using different mediums, I love experimenting and seeking out original effects. I mainly create layouts, canvases and art journal pages, but I also love to create things on a bigger scale and customise home decorations.

My work is recognisable for being rich in textures (especially using microbeads), and having many layers and lots of detail. I don’t have as much time for crafting as I would like to, but creating is my life, and my getaway.

Over last few years I’ve been a designer in international teams and I’ve cooperated with stores, kit clubs and challenge sites. Currently I mostly teach mixed media techniques, design paper collections and other products, make videos and live shows with online classes.

You can mostly see my work on the 13 arts and Scrapberry websites.

Alberto Juarez (Spain) is part of Graphic45's team and since 2012, he has been part of the educators' group of Prima marketing. He has taught workshops both in Spanish stores, fairs and events in Spain as well as ArtVenture of Prima Marketing in Anaheim (California) in the CHA. His latest adventures have been launched as a product designer as his three collections of paper for Scrapbooking, or along with his mates of "Carrotcake” a line of paintings, sprays and mediums for mixed media with Acrylicos Vallejo.

His works are internationally known and his passion for scrapbook makes it one of the  one of the references in scrapbook and his web vintageodyssey.net accumulates thousands of monthly visits.

Ab Abbad, who also goes by the artistic alter-ego Autour de Mwa, is the founder of AALL & Create, a new venture dedicated to new encounters and the sharing and exchange of creative ideas.

He’s a passionate individual who likes to live life to the fullest and who launched himself into scrapbooking in 2011. He’s adventurous and curious; he loves learning and discovering new things and travels the world in pursuit of his passion: Algeria, the United Kingdom, France, Belgium.... he never stops!

He demonstrates great freedom of expression in his work, with a personal style that is 100% free and sometimes flirts with mixed media.

He’s a member of several creative teams for well-known brands in Europe and elsewhere, including being a popular contributor to Scrap Magazine. With AALL & Create he wanted to share a colourful world, full of life, which would give people the joy of unleashing their creativity in a unique atmosphere.

I am Bipasha K, but most know me as BK (short for my full name). I hail from India. I am an Electronics hardware engineer by profession in Melbourne and persuing my PhD in association with Florey Institute of Neuroscience, Australia. Much like a traditional Aquarian, I breathe, understand, and live art. Craft has been my childhood hobby, however I took it professionally in 2012.

I am passionate about being creative. My style is an ever-changing art form. I don’t think I have a particular style as I am always inspired by everyday events and moments. I tend to create highly dimensional and detailed projects; it really sets a different idea as to what can be created with just paper, few metals and hues. In addition to being an endorsed Prima Educator (Australia and India) since 2014, I have guest designed for several International manufacturers including Wild Orchid Crafts, May Arts Ribbon and have served as a Design Team member for many national and international design challenge groups.

I have been travelling across many countries like Australia, UAE and India, conducting many workshops as a part of my Prima education venture. I thoroughly enjoy teaching classes and demonstrating new products' use. I have had the privilege of collaborating with so many wonderful artists on many different projects including the e-book "80 Artists Around the World".

Last, but certainly not the least,it’s an absolute honour to be part of the fabulous education team of AALL&Create! Can’t wait to start my venture as a online art instructor with a new dimension of creativity with these wonderful artists. I am keen on exchanging my ideas with the European craft lovers and spreading smiles through my art.

My name is Fiona and I live in South Australia. I have been creative all of my life dabbling in a little bit of anything creative I could find over the years. I have scrapbooked for more than 15 but only recently have I discovered the online world of challenges, design teams and the best friends a girl could ever ask for.

As a scrapbook artist I would have to say I don't have a "style" as such except that I do include ephemera into my work almost every chance I get. I have had a whirl wind of an entry into this supportive community and have been blessed enough to have been given opportunities to teach all over Australia at expos, in local stores and scrapbooking retreats.

I currently design for several International companies including 7 Dots Studio, 13@rts and Viva Las Vegastamps. I am also a part of the Aussie kit club "Scrappy Chat Designs" and lastly but certainly not least I am part of a wonderful Polish challenge team called Scrapki-Wyzwaniow. In 2017 I'll be joining a couple of new teams so keep an eye out for those announcements.

I write a regular article for Scrapbooking Memories magazine in Australia and have had the privileged of collaborating with so many wonderful artists on many different projects including the e-book "80 Artists Around the World". I look forward to sharing with you all my passion for creating.

My name is Hee Sun Kim and I am from Korea.

Back in 2009 I came across such a beautiful handmade card on the Internet while searching for collage techniques and images I could use to decorate my personal planner. I was really surprised to find out that there were so many people in the world making cards.

I have a very unique style - I love to blend vintage elements into my mixed media art.

What I enjoy doing the most, is sharing my ideas, techniques and my love of crafting with my students.

My goal is to express feeling through my art and inspire creativity by sharing my work with others in my classes.

I love crafting and I find joy in it every day!

I’m a part of several design teams:

Sizzix UK DT/ ColourArte DT/ MIXED MEDIA&art DT/ Prima Marketing Inc. Educator/ Ranger Ink Educator

I’m Jasmina, mother of three, secondary school technology teacher and scrapbook artist of nine years standing! I adore taking photos of the people I love and keeping them as souvenirs of precious moments together. Scrapbooking allows me to give another dimension to these images and to bear witness to my happiness. I don’t think I have a particular personal style, I just want each piece of work to reflect the emotions that are evoked by the photograph at its centre.

I am a 34 year old Mixed Media Artist and Art Journaler. I live in Pennsylvania with my boyfriend and our two rescue cats. I have a YouTube channel that I upload to twice a week and I currently am on the Viva Las VegaStamps Design Team. I was also on the Donna Downey Design Team and have been published by Stampington & Co. When I am not working (as a home health care aide) or studying (I’m also a full-time student working towards my bachelor’s degree) I can be found in my studio covered in paint.

My name is Kassa Hayselden from a lovely little town called Wetherby in the UK where you'll find me at my happiest experimenting and pushing boundaries, elbows deep in über bright colour (with a touch of neon) creating beautiful textures. I looooVes creating my very own quirky & kooky doodle stamp designs for Stampotique and currently every month you'll find a piece of art by me up over on Finnabair's blog :-))) I'm so excited and can't wait to share what I call my 'haPPy art' with you all.

I'm Lilith. I was born in Leuven, Belgium on 26th January 1979. As a child I grew up in South Africa and my parents moved back to Europe when I was a teenager and settled in the Grand Duchy of Luxemburg. I now live in the South of Belgium in the Ardennes. I am a mother to four marvellous but mischievous boys (Damien, Noé (13), Robin (10) and Elouan (7) and have been married to the most wonderful man for 17 years. I'm a  foreign language teacher. I teach Dutch and English to French speaking students. Besides my passion for languages and teaching, there is also music (I am currently taking lyrical singing lessons and will start the cello soon), photography and on the top of my list SCRAPBOOKING. I started just after getting married as I wanted to make a wedding album. I really got hooked when my two eldest boys were born in 2003 and I haven't stopped since. It helps me unwind from my hectic days being a mum and teaching teenagers. Scrapbooking has made me realise that I can be creative and I love documenting my family's life. It has made me become more confident and willing to have a go.

Up until 12 years ago, Louise considered herself not at all crafty or artsy for that matter. She enjoyed furniture restoration and home decor DIY.  In 2005, Louise began to scrapbook and in the last 12 years has developed a distinctive style that is an elegant mix of 'negative space' and art mediums. During this time Louise has been very fortunate to have designed for many wonderful Companies and Store/Challenge Design Teams; including Imaginarium Designs, Prima Marketing, Jenni Bowlin ,Tattered Angels, 7 Dots Studio, Finnabair, and Relics & Artifacts. Louise has also had the pleasure of designing for publication for an Australian Scrapbooking Magazine, Scrapbooking Memories, and also to have publications, feature articles, and 2 covers for Somerset Memories.

In recent years, Louise has developed a love of mono printing, stamp carving, painting, art journaling, ceramics, and assemblage; and has pursued these with her usual creative passion.

It’s been nearly fourteen years since Manuéla discovered scrapbooking and she’s lucky to have been able to make it into her career.

Her brand was born of her passion for stamps and reflects both her own creative universe and the wonderful relationships she’s been able to make during these years. Over the last couple of years she has made fewer appearances at workshops and on line because she has embarked on a new adventure: training as an art therapist.

However, she continues to meet many scrapbookers at courses, workshops and craft fairs, taking pleasure in sharing this passion of hers which she still feels after all these years. Whether it is freestyle or mixed media, she explores all the paths which are open to her. She enjoys a bit of everything, especially working with stamps, inks and acrylics, but she also won’t hesitate to get out the sewing machine or other more unusual materials so that she can experiment with unexpected combinations!

My name is Natalie May
I’m lucky enough to be a full time paper crafter and I couldn’t be happier!
I teach around 15 classes a month in SA and design chipboard for Imaginarium Designs. I have been a 2016 Scrapbooking Memories Master, I am currently Brand Ambassador for Gel Press, Educator for Lindy's Stamp Gang, product Ambassador for XPress Graph-X Adhesives, an Intermediate Certified Copic Designer and love everything inky & colour based.

One of the things that keeps me interested and teaching is that I love to create in all styles.  As much as this industry likes to ‘Pigeon Hole’ people, I believe I am a versatile artist – I regularly teach not only scrapbooking layouts but also Cards, Mixed Media Layouts, Paper based Layouts, Vintage & Ancestry Layouts, Beginners scrapbooking & card classes, Big Shot classes, Art Journaling, Abstract Canvas Art, Copic Beginners Classes plus Kids classes, Birthday parties and whatever else I can come up with.

As an Educator for Lindy Stamp Gang & Gel Press, I especially love to create with their products and educate people about mediums, textures and general products.

I love this industry … the opportunity to teach a new technique…. Meeting so many amazing people…..and to be able to CREATE everyday is quite a blessing.
You can view more of my work at …www.happydaks.blogspot.com and find me on Instagram under happydaks and Facebook as well.

I'm Olga, a Polish woman living in Berlin. Ever since I discovered scrapbooking I’ve been totally addicted and now I spend hours splashing and splattering ink. I'm always on the lookout for something new, testing new supplies, new tools or finding new ways of using my "old" art stash.

My work is either steampunky, with lots of shiny and metallic objects, or clean and bright with lots of white space, but always with a vintage feel. As time has gone on I have gravitated towards Mixed Mediaand now gesso and gel mediums are always on my work table.

First off I am always humbled to be asked to share my work with others as I am so inspired by everyone else. I LOVE papercrafting, work in the industry for Prima Marketing, and have met so many wonderful people around the world as a result over the last thirteen years.

Alongside working full-time I try to squeak out as much family time as possible: watching murder mysteries with my boys, shopping with my daughters, doing crafts with my granddaughters, and worshiping together on Sunday with the whole family!

Besides being a mom to seven children: three daughters and four sons, I am also a Nana to three sweet little girls, Amariah, Madelyn, and brand-new baby Elizabeth...which give me a lot of scrapbooking material!

As social media changes you will find me, and my latest scrapbook and planner projects, more and more on Instagram and Facebook

I'm Terhi Koskinen from Finland. Scrapbooking is more than a hobby for me, it's a lifestyle - it starts with grabbing a photo and ends when I get my creation where I wanted. And then it starts again. Surrounding myself with pretty things and my dear family is how I want to live my life.

My creations are filled layers, straight lines, and techniques I want to try out.

I get my inspiration from pictures I take during the days, in another words from my everyday life: I'm mother for two beautiful daughters, wife for my handsome husband and studious project coordinator in my day time job. In addition to crafting, I horse-ride, so that's one more topic to my creations.

As I love being surrounded by people. teaching scrapbooking has grown to one of my biggest passions, and I've been lucky enough to teach both online and live - just hoping this dream continues in the future too.

Hi!  I'm Tina Walker and I am a lover and creator of all things Artsy! Art is an outlet that allows me to keep my sanity and is a retreat from my daily career responsibilities.

I have been making art my entire life, creating in bursts of artistic energy. In 2009, I found the art of Scrapbooking, when living in Salt Lake City, Utah.  At that point, creating became more of a way of life, than an occasional pastime.

My latest creative passion is all things Mixed Media, including Art Journaling, Assemblage, and Fabric Art. Mixed Media is a perfect discipline for me, encompassing multiple products, mediums and design techniques.  My project selection and medium choice is constantly changing. I love to experiment and I believe there is nothing as a bad mistake.  All ‘mistakes’ are a chance to learn and try new ideas.  As I always say, ‘you can always cover it with Gesso and start over’.

I am truly blessed to be part of this amazing community and I hope I can bring a bit of sunshine to your artsy world!  You can read more about me on my blog: https://adogslife-thirteen.blogspot.com

See you soon!

Tracy Evans from The U.k

I am passionate about creating and have a huge desire to inspire others along my creative journey.

My passion is to share ideas with like-minded individuals and to inspire others to enjoy this creative path. I have been creating for 20 years and my desire to learn new techniques is as strong as ever. For me creating is all about fun and enjoying the process; taking time out to play and develop my skills. I love mixing old with new products and techniques and seeing where inspiration takes me.

I am also a passionate gardener and often find inspiration from my garden, particularly colour schemes, nature is a wonderful thing. I also love using recycled and vintage pieces in my work, it gives your designs a whole different feel, something I love.

I am a member of several Design Teams and write for Making Cards Magazine, Craft Stamper Magazine and Papercraft Essentials Magazine. All of which give me the opportunity to showcase my creativity and passion even further.

I’m Val, also known by the avatar I use to sign my artwork: a little dragon with red stripes. I’ve been scrapbooking for a few years now, ever since I chanced across a workshop led by Manuela Jamet and got hooked!

With four men in the house let’s just say that I’m never short of a suitable subject or two for my work!

I’m not too sure how to describe my scrapbooking style; I seem to always like getting paint everywhere so I suppose I have quite a free style! I like bright acid colours, just like in real life, colours that grab your attention, and ‘patouille’ style. I have worked as a manager in an arts and crafts shop for five years and that means I often have a keen interest in how the products work. I enjoy testing them out to see what they can do – sometimes the results are surprising and unexpected.

I love writing, playing with words, telling stories and I’m always curious to know what other people are creating, inventing and sharing – how they do it and why they do it!

I also love to meet people and swap ideas. I’m a member of the team for Scrap Magazine and for AALL & Create and I manage the Just Create & Scrap sketch blog. It’s a treat to be able to do all of this surrounded by so many fantastic and talented people!
