⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2! Hundreds, book 3 of 5. Haunting pasts, conflicting emotions, sexual attraction & hints of an epic love!

Books in Dollar series should be read in order:
Book 1: Pennies
Book 2: Dollars
Book 3: Hundreds
Book 4: Thousands
Book 5: Millions

In Dollar series, book 1-2 after two long and brutal years in captivity Pimlico Tasmin Blythe, Pim aka Little mouse was rescued by businessman Elder Prest, Kaitou’s. But instead of setting her free he kept her for himself.

Hundreds, book 3 opens up to Pim and Elder both feeling conflicted and confused. While Pim is lavished in luxury and technically no longer Elder’s prisoner she is struggling with her feelings for him. She has a long road ahead recovering with the abuse she suffered at the hands of her captors.

Elder’s past has come back to haunt him. He is torn between his sexual attraction to Pim and his feelings of wanting to protect her from everything, including himself. Set against the backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea this instalment is a tale of tension and opposites. Are Elder and Pim doomed to feel adrift?

Eight words to describe Elder Prest, Kaitou: Complex, enigmatic, conflicted, secretive, unpredictable, devious, arrogant and possessive.

Eight words to describe Pimlico Tasmin Blythe, Pim aka Little mouse: Broken, reflective, meek, stubborn, observant, smart, strong and captivating.

Hundreds, told from dual POVs, is dark erotica at its best. While their dark pasts haunt them there is soul-searching and healing with hints of an epic and all-consuming love. It ends leading right to book 4, Thousands for the continuation of their saga.

Effortless story-telling! Captivating plot! Dark, forbidden, addicting yet hopeful!

From the moment I began Hundreds, this soul-searing story both bared itself to me and STRIPPED ME BARE, stealing every smile and tear, entangling itself around every emotion. Words, so POIGNANT and POWERFUL, opened the floodgates of feels that, once started, never stopped. I BAWLED like a baby with tears permanently etched in my eyes. This story swiftly sank itself into my soul and never left. Hundreds HELD MY HEART from the start and never let go.

Beautiful Pimlico 'Pim' has survived hell, battling the most evil of monsters. She is slowly gaining strength, fighting back to reclaim part of who she was before her life ended. I LOVED this STRONG HEROINE, a WOMAN WARRIOR!!!

I was finally seeing clear after being in that dusty fog.

From meek little mouse to roaring lion, it's Pim's turn to roar. Pim is a bird in a cage who finally has a taste of freedom, and oh is it sweet! I admired her courage and tenacity so much! She is sweetness and strength, a survivor.

Pim has been reborn, given a second-chance at life...and perhaps, love. One man, a monster, and hero, rescued her. The gorgeous and elusive Elder Prest may be both saint and sinner, but he's Pim's saving grace as she is his.

He shattered me but held me together in equal measures. My nemesis and saviour.

These words penetrated through me. These words ripped my heart apart. These words soared straight to my soul. These words were so much MORE!!! These words were EVERYTHING!!!

I LOVE ELDER, MY DARK HERO, SO MUCH!!! Dark-haired, dark-eyed, and inked Elder is gorgeous. Pure perfection. A lethal mix of all alpha male, angel, and devil, Elder walks the fine line of hero and criminal. Burned by a painful past with wounds that still resonate deeply, I NEED this beautiful man to find salvation.

Elder is complex and caring, and dark and dangerous. Pim is breaking through her shell and rediscovering Tasmin. This jilted bird is spreading her wings, preparing to fly, and it’s all because of her dark king who wants his captivating queen. Elder can only hope that his beautiful bird—his soul mate—doesn’t fly home to her past life.

He kisses me hard and deep but with respect and affection...This kiss was everything. It was truth. It was honesty. It was terrifying.

The chemistry between Pim and Elder is FIRE-HOT, a slow burn that builds into an inferno! One look is all it takes for their electricity to detonate. I felt their combustible connection through the pages...so heady!!!

"Don't you dare say I'm scared of you. I'm not."

He sucked in a breath.

"I'm scared of myself."

Elder is fighting the biggest battle with himself, one of past versus present, hero versus villain, and head versus heart. He can only hope he's strong enough to keep his precious mouse.

"I have nothing of value, yet you make me valuable. Don't you see?"

These words are PURE POWER.
Power to break.
Power to bind.
Power to feel each one.
Oh did I FEEL!!!

I'd just committed a fatal mistake. There was no going back now.

I FELT these words vibrate through me, GRIPPING and GUTTING ME, as they cast a spell on my soul that spun, soared, and shattered for Hundreds.

The intense roller coaster of a ride called Hundreds by Pepper Winters BROKE ME IN THE BEST WAY!!! The spellbinding and spine-tingling Hundreds shook my soul, grabbed my gut, and hit my heart so hard that my emotions bled long after the story was over. Hundreds UNRAVELED ME!!! This heartwarming and heart wrenching story was my UNDOING!!! OH DID I FALL HARD IN LOVE!!!

Hundreds is DEEP, a tale that takes you into the depths of your heart and soul, where you can't help but become thrusted in every part of this devastatingly beautiful book. The persistent push and pull...the fire and ice...the secrets and lies...were INTENSE, so much that I FELT THIS STORY along with Pim and Elder. I FELT every heartbreak, every hope, every bit of happiness, and every bit of bleeding angst from these real-to-me characters...I FELT EVERYTHING!!! I. Can't. Stop. Feeling. Hundreds!!!

I lived Hundreds. I breathed Hundreds. I was bound to Hundreds. I became Hundreds, a story worth billions in gold. HUNDREDS OWNED EVERY PART OF ME. I am still BREATHLESS, my heart beating for Hundreds.

A MASTERMIND of monster mixed with hero stories, so FLAWLESSLY fused with dark and light, there is no better dark romance author than Pepper Winters. NO ONE. This Queen of Darkness is IT for ME!!! Just when I think Pepper Winters has written my top story of hers, she OUTDOES herself and writes a book even better!!! Hundreds is a TOP 2017 book, a MUST-READ romance, and new favorite by Pepper Winters!!!

If you follow my reviews, you know that I love dark, twisted romance. So, it should come as no big surprise that I'm a big fan of Pepper Winters. She has a way of drawing me in and doing dirty, dirty things to my mind. This series is no exception.

The third book in the series, 'Hundreds' shows more character development and evolution than previous books. Pim really begins to come out of her shell, pushing her boundaries and defying Alrik's conditioning. Elder also reveals a more personal side, finally sharing details about his past and opening up to Pim.

Aside from their personal growth, 'Hundreds' also spotlighted the evolution of Pim and Elder's relationship. From the guilt and hurt that the last book left off with, they grew stronger. In fact, their biggest challenge was how strong their attraction was this time around. It seems that once Pim comes to realize that she wants Elder as much as he wants her, the tables turn.

While most of the book focused on Elder and Pim's relationship, Elder's past also plays an important role. His secrets are finally brought to light. The consequences of his past actions come back to haunt him. He is a hunted man.

In addition to the people from his past that want revenge for the perceived wrongs of Elder, Elder is also fighting his inner demons. He knows that every moment he spends with Pim increases the risk of danger to her. He wants to protect her from those that would harm her -- most importantly, himself.

Like earlier books in the series, 'Hundreds' ends with quite an upset. Ms. Winters really knows how to keep you anxiously awaiting the next book. Of course, I've already pre-ordered the next one because I know I won't want to wait a minute longer than necessary to see what she has in store for Pim and Elder.

~4.5 ELDER STARS~
"Fuck me, little mouse. Put us both out of our misery."
description

Hundreds is the third book in the Dollar Series, and this series must be read in order. Pim, the former slave, and her savior Elder navigate through the next stage of their journey in this intense third installment in the series.

description
"Fuck, this is harder than I thought."
Hundreds picks up directly after Dollars. Pim is still safe from the demons of her past, but she isn't safe from Elder. Elder has offered Pim strength and hope, albeit twisted, he cares for Pim. As the sexual attraction between the two continues to grow, Pim begins to develop feelings for Elder. Elder is torn between the longing he has for more of Pim and the despair he feels about letting anyone close to him.

description
"He looked as if he wanted to eat me alive."
With both of their hearts on the line, Pim and Elder navigate a delicate dance full of passion, sex, and love. Elder continues to push Pim's boundaries and the harder he pushes, the more he falls further in the rabbit hole. The closer they grow together, the harder Elder tries to push Pim away.

description
"Just stay away from me."
Told in dual POV, I absolutely adore these characters. Pim and Elder are both so unique and complex. Their pasts have impacted their present so much, and it is questionable if they will ever find peace in their future. Elder and Pim are so perfectly matched and yet, neither can find the strength to claim the other. The tempo in the first part of the book was slightly subdued and yet, as each piece of the puzzle is revealed the pace intensifies and crescendos like that of an orchestra performing a lyrical symphony. The text is full of color as each scene comes to life. My absolute favorite element of this installment is the way in which more of Elder is revealed. Pim acts as the ignition that starts up a wave of emotions inside this broken hero. After all of the beautiful and heartbreaking moments Pim and Elder have experienced, the final moment of this installment broke my heart. I have high hopes for these two to find their way and I cannot wait for Thousands to hit my Kindle!

description

Overall, Pepper Winters has delivered another stunning series that I cannot get enough of. Elder and Pim are unforgettable characters and I have faith in Ms. Winters to deliver them to their happily ever after. I am sure there will be more heartbreak and pain along the way and yet, I have no doubt that Elder and Pim will find their way.

4.5 stars

Genre: Romance
Setting: ⚓ Phantom to Monte Carlo
POVs: Dual, first person
Plot: 4/5
Characterization: Bloody flawless!
Pace: 3/5
Action: 0/5

This book, though!!!!!

 photo IMG_5113_zpsrzggsqcc.gif

Pepper Winters took the reader on a lengthy emotional journey that revealed a captivating but painful show of self-discovery! The author further fleshed out the main characters to the point of utter rawness! Pimlico's drive to untangle her mind from the clutches of Alrik's psychological poisoning was heartbreaking, uplifting, and fascinating! I couldn't look away even though I wanted to--many times over!

This book featured in-depth and lengthy inner monologues within short-ish chapters. The story played emotional tug-of-war with my heart almost to the point of becoming tiresome! It was a highly angsty read with a slow-burn pace. Written remarkably well, this was one of those stories where I had to take frequent breaks and couldn't plow through the way I normally could with other books. Pim and Elder's emotions were too bare and raw from page to page! The push and pull in this story was relentless! I had nothing but compassion for both El and Pim, but sometimes I wanted to shake El senseless!

 photo IMG_4771_zpsymy8l7kn.gif

The words El spit out to Pim towards the end of the book were sharper than razor blades and deadly to her spirit! I wanted to cut him down a few notches for her sake! A tiny peek at Pim's thoughts during that disastrous conversation?

I wasn’t prepared for yet another sentence weapon. This one was a nuclear missile aimed straight for my soul. I shattered into hundreds of messy pieces.
I couldn’t—
I had no reply.
I was soundless. Wordless. Mute.
Elder laughed like the devil, his face torn apart by admission and anger.

Gaaaaaaaaaaah!

 photo image_zpszjrprkpy.gif

El warred against his own obsessions in this story, but I adored Pim! Her heart was still so tender and unhealed from all of the trauma she suffered at the hands of Alrik and his associates, but she remained hopeful. Though emotionally fragile at times, she always had that small fire of resistance burning from within--the one that El became obsessed with, but also tried to thoroughly extinguish by the end of this book.

There were a few more bombs secrets revealed within this story, but they were more like teasers because this storyline will continue on to Thousands. This wasn't a "dark" read, especially when compared to the first two books in this series. It was more of a juicy character analysis featuring complex and likable characters, but this installment was well worth the wait! I should've felt that overwhelming impatience and annoyance at the ending, but I loved it, too!

This series has to be read in order as each book piggybacks onto the next:

Book One: Pennies
Book Two: Dollars
Book Three: Hundreds
Book Four: Thousands
Book Five: Millions

Loved:
There were two letters Pim wrote that were profound and gut-wrenching! In both instances, her signature only highlighted how much personal growth she'd experienced within her short life. Loved it!

Issues?
The pace of this story caught me a bit off guard because I was expecting more action alongside the inner monologues, but no big deal. Another small issue? At times, Both Elder and Pim shared the same phrases/terminology within their thoughts. Mostly unnoticeable to be annoying, but still noticeable. Also, some parts of Elder's dialogue nagged at me because it was too obvious that the author was a female writing a male lead's words. Otherwise, I loved these characters!

⚓ Definitely looking forward to getting more of Selix, Pim, and Elder in the upcoming books! Enjoyed!

Maybe I was waiting for the sex to be mind-blowingly amazing. Maybe I was waiting for the characters to stop going around in circles with their story. Maybe I should have stopped at Dollars.

You know? I genuinely think that there's something wrong with me. This series has received so much hype. Pepper Winters is such an amazing author. Some astounding reviewers that read this book have loved it so much.
description

The "Twists"
(or lack there-of)
When something happened, I had a very constant reaction towards it. There are no words to express the emotion. So here, heres Ms. Jolie doing the honors.
description

The Testosterone
The thing for me with a dual POV is that it can either be a soul shattering method in familiarizing yourself with both the characters or it can drive you insane.

A lot of Elder's perspective was him thinking, talking, trying not to think, explaining about sex with Pim. Granted, he also spent a lot of time wanting her mind and her story but the main crooks of it was him getting horny and then smoking a joint trying to stop himself from having sex with Pim. Leaving aside that this is an erotica, this is also the tale of two damaged people finding themselves through each other.

I loved the little bit we got on Elders backstory - it made him flesh out and become a multi-dimensional character for me. However that little bit was... little.

The Tension
Pepper Winters knows how to draw up a room full of heavy sexual tension.
Just apparently not any of the rooms I was in while reading this.

Dollars was a three star rating simply because of it's tension built within the story. Hundreds was such a let down afterwards.
description

A part that really made me question everything I was reading was the fact that Elder calls Pim "Mouse". This was the nickname that Pim's father gave her during her childhood - through Dollars we find out that she doesn't like it when Elder calls her that because it reminds Pim of her father.

*hold on to your seats ladies and gents*
"Do you want me, little mouse? Will you scream for me? Cry for me?"

While they are going at it, Pim does mention her thoughts:
"My nickname tightened my muscles yet again. Mouse. Past blended with present. Innocence plaited with lust
Up and up, I soared
Yes.
Yes.
Yes."

Continuing in an uninterrupted timeline in Hundreds, the relationship between Elder Prest and Pimlico remains uniquely complicated in unexpected ways. For Pim, she is persistent in her determination to heal and finds strength in Elder’s ability to offer sanctuary by staying true to his word. With each small step of freedom and increased resilience, Pim isn’t afraid to acknowledge her feelings for Elder even while he is fighting his own self-imposed limitations.

“Thank you for waking me up and smashing me open. Because by doing so, you broke every piece I had left and revealed something so much stronger within.”

From the beginning, Elder felt compelled to Pim and his obsession has only compounded due to their circumstances and his own condition. Wanting to know every single detail about Pim in exchange for her freedom, Elder tries to restrain his heated desire but he cannot stay away.

“Once I had you – fully had you where you wanted me as much as I wanted you – I’d never be able to stop. I’d fuck you every hour of every day. I’d forget to eat, sleep, breathe.”

In Elder’s efforts to find out who Pim really is, he doesn’t anticipate how much is actually going to be revealed as they come face to face with his demons. Learning more about Elder’s past and how he copes, solidifies the reason for his intensity and his choice to lead a solitary life on the Phantom.

“You’re everything and more. You’re more than I can bear. You have the power to hurt me worse than I can stand. Don’t you see that?”

What transpires in Hundreds is intense, sexually charged and adds tremendous depth to Elder and Pim, as Elder shows an incredibly dominant side with vulnerability and compassion. To give Pim what she craved was extremely hot and to experience that side of Elder led to a haze of lustful bliss. Additionally, Pim continued to prove her strength knowing she is just beginning to heal and that she may need to find her own answers.

For me, this is my favorite book of the series to date with lyrical prose and character dimension that drives the plot. With such a turning point midway in the series, I look forward to reading how Elder and Pim will overcome and continue to progress.

What I like about Hundreds is Pim’s character that evolved into someone, after all she have been through, who have the strength, the courage to go on, no matter how many doubts she have. She may not voice out everything what’s in her mind, but deep inside she knows what she must do and how to act on it, if she may need to.

…but I also couldn’t shake the happiness that I’d stood up for myself and won.

Also in this book, we saw some dark part of Elder's past and the demons he tried to get away from. His inner battle to do what is right and how to protect Pim from him. Sometimes I felt, how hard it is to have a mind like his. His apprehension to express his feeling to Pim, gives the perfect sexual tension for both of them.

“He’d kissed me awake like Sleeping Beauty and removed the poisoned apple from my soul like Snow White.”

Why am I a sucker for this kind of book? I knew I was in for a cliffhanger of epic proportion every time I finished a part of this series. Pepper Winters that’s the only acceptable reason why I started reading this series. This author knows when to stop and make her readers want more of Pim & Elder. A perfect cliffy-ending, if I may say so. She knows how to keep the interest of her readers. It was an engrossing read from start to finish. I totally enjoyed this one and can’t wait to read Thousands to see what will happen next to this epic series.

This book was chockfull of filler. Aside from a few key pieces of new information, the rest of this instalment consisted of repetitive thoughts and redundant scenes. I've read so many titles by this author and have never encountered this. While I skipped and skidded my way through a lot of chapters about nothing, I kept wondering if there was a point to all of this. There must be a method to this madness, right? I still haven't found the reason and I'm hoping, if I continue with this series, that it either becomes clear or doesn't happen again. It was bad enough that it took every ounce of patience I had to get through everything Pimlico had to offer. To endure her utter blandness and what ended up coming across like a long run-on sentence that made a book, I was at the end of my rope. The only way I was able to keep on going was because each page gave me more of Elder Prest.

I felt guilty for doing nothing.
I felt ashamed for expecting everything.

Why is Elder still made to feel that he's the bad guy? It couldn't be more obvious to readers that he's neither good or bad. He makes the most out of every situation and sometimes he has to do the 'wrong' thing. It only endears me more to his humanity. But then there's Pim constantly treating him like a villain. Then she sends mixed messages because she throws words like 'love' and 'trust' around, without knowing what those words really mean. If you love and trust someone, you don't constantly second guess their motives. You don't constantly condemn them or liken them to the monster they saved you from. For everything that Elder has done for this chick, why is she still allowed to give him nothing? He humbles himself for her, humiliates and embarrasses himself for her, gives into and compromises for her, cares and considers her, and she gives him... what? Judgment? Disgust? Fear? Ignorance? He deserves so much better than her and for everyone who has praised this female or lauded her in any way, I'm wondering if we've been reading the same story.

I don't think I can take much more of Pimlico. She keeps putting herself in Elder's way, trying to learn every little thing about him, and yet she won't even give the man her name. She gives him NOTHING!! Nothing about her past, none of her real thoughts and feelings (barely), nothing real. But she wants to know the inner workings of this man's mind, his hopes and dreams and wants, his every desire and thought. I hate her so freaking much!! I'm probably going to read the next book, with A LOT of hesitation, because I adore Elder. This book also mentioned one of my first loves, Jethro Hawk, and I think he might be making an appearance. For these two men alone, I'll continue with this series. However, I really hope Pim gets a major personality adjustment because, with the way I feel about her right now, this character could drown in the ocean and I'd feel absolutely nothing.

The beginning was hard to get into but as the book progress I found myself enjoying it more. And damn I feel for both Pim and Elder... Gawd I hurt for them. Seriously dying to the next book.

3.5 - 4 ★'s

“He was the moon, and I was the ocean.”

This was the beginning of when the series started to drag a bit for me. The indecisiveness about killed me. However, we do get to learn a lot more about Elder and why he is so freakin' crazy and that made it worth it.

So...all the things going on with Elder, no real surprise. What I am surprised about is that he doesn't have better ways to handle the main one. I did love his playing of the cello and his origami...it just added even more layers to him. My heart did break about how things started for him - that was really sad.

description

Then finally, we get what we've been waiting for and it was all that and all not that at the same time. Definitely frustrating!

And again, it was all too apparently where things were going as much as I wished they wouldn't. Ugh...it they would just talked...and listen to each other.

Onto book four...

Book 3 starts right where book 2 left off. We learn what Pimlico’s and Elder’s thoughts are on the events that lead to Pim finally speaking.

With the help of Elder, Pim is turning into a strong woman, speaking up for herself and learning that she matters. He’d shown me I was stronger than I thought. Shown me how to seek comfort after having none.

”Because of you, I can hold this fork without fear of being beaten. I can sit at this table without cowering for a kick. Because of you, I can be human and not a pet because you showed me I’m valuable.”

While Pim feels like she from the ashes, I stood tall, Elder is kicking himself for his actions. I was worse than him. Worse than the monster who’d kept her.
At least his intentions were obvious. Me? I’d lulled her into believing I’d protect and care for her, only to snap at the worst possible time.

In book 3 we learn more about Elder, where he came from, why he became the person he is now.
Elder battles his past vs present and heart vs head.

But he also battles his desire to keep Pim and setting her free. “I want to set you free, Pim. Not for you but for me. I need you gone before I do something I can’t undo. Before I destroy both of us.”

He’d rescued me.
He’d awakened me.
He’d kissed me awake like Sleeping Beauty and removed the poisoned apple from my soul like Snow White.

While the chemistry between Pim and Elder is slowly building from shimmer to volcano hot that, inevitability, erupts. ”You do things to whatever sick and twisted heart I have left and make me crave things I don’t deserve.”

Will Elder and Pim be able to overcome the odds that are stacking up against them?
I am counting the days to finally get my hands on Thousands

“You got inside my heart before you got inside my head, and it’s tearing me fucking apart!”

Hundreds is an emotional story that focuses mostly on Elder. I loved the way Pepper wrote this book, the wording she used, is so moving and potent but eloquent and beautiful, He shattered me but held me together in equal measures. My nemesis and saviour.
She managed magnificently to convey the strong emotions Elder must have felt both growing up and being around Pimlico.

The book is a real page turner and I finished it in one day letting hubby fend for himself, and me!! I highly recommend reading the Dollar series.

Hundreds is part of the 5-book Dollar series that has to be read in order:
Pennies (Dollar, #1) by Pepper Winters Dollars (Dollar, #2) by Pepper Winters Hundreds (Dollar, #3) by Pepper Winters Thousands (Dollar, #4) by Pepper Winters Millions (Dollar, #5) by Pepper Winters

Title: Hundreds
Author: Pepper Winters
Category: Dark Romance
Series or Standalone: Series, Book #3
POV: First person, Dual
Plot: 5
Characters: 5
Scorching Level: 5
HEA: Not telling

This book. This book. I cannot wrap my mind around the greatness of this book.
HEART-STOPPING. RAW. EMOTIONAL. SENSUAL.
I swear that this book gave me heart palpitations!!! It has been a while since that has happened to me. Very rarely do I want to highlight so many quotes in a book!

He’d almost destroyed me.
Almost.
But he hadn’t.
And from the ashes, I stood tall.
~Pimlico

Somehow, the organ responsible for keeping me alive in the worst of tragedies had reprogrammed itself to his frequency.

If you thought Pennies and Dollars were amazing, wait till you read Hundreds.
This book is where we really get to know our characters. This book explores Elder's personality. In this book we get to know his story and why he is so obsessed with getting inside Pim's head.
Pimlico is not the character we had met in previous books. This is the real her. In this book, she blossoms. She turns into a real heroine, she grasps onto her life and squeezes lost strength our of her tortured existence. I loved her.
We get so many new facts about the story and the characters in this installment. I am amazed by the author's originality and skill.
I do believe Elder & Pim are one of her most powerful couples ever. They way they click, the way they complete one another, the way they heal one another; it's amazing. Almost magical.
Throughout the book I was transported to their sad, angsty, dreamy world and I stayed there. What a journey!
One thing is for certain, Elder is my new favorite male hero from Pepper Winters. There are no words to describe how much I connected with this character. My heart broke for him, because he is not what he seems.
I marvelled at Pim's strength. A true phoenix that rizes from the ashes.
Excellent writing from Mrs. Winters. Do NOT miss this book. I highly recommend it!

Okay - let's give this review thing another shot. Goodreads and I aren't getting along right now.

Pim has survived the worst, she's healed physically, but still mentally scarred. As Elder continues to push her she finds that she isn't the same Pim he rescued. She begins to find her strength again, revealing to Elder that she's so much more than a meek mouse. Her strength is his weakness though and as they challenge one another it isn't a matter of if, but when he will falter. He may be a cruel, hardened criminal, but Pim sees so much more to him. Her knowledge of who he really is makes him pull away and ultimately Pim must make a choice to hold on or let go, no matter the consequences.

If Pepper Winters keeps writing like this I am going to run out of stars to rate with. I didn't think it was possible, but Hundreds was better than Dollars and heaps better than Pennies...and I loved both quite a bit. The writing in Hundreds left me with a very surreal feeling, like I'd just experienced everything alongside Pim, but everything was so horrendous that I was a step removed from it. The dark past of both continue to haunt them, but the time has allowed the true Elder and the girl before Pim to shine through. The complexities of the characters keep you engaged, the horrors shared between them keep you intrigued, and the promise of a future, for both, keep you hopeful.

With an epic cliffhanger and some incredibly hard, dark moments, Hundreds is a read that stays with you and likely falls in the category of a love-it or hate-it book. As part of the series, it is the middle ground of before and after...the after that you'll have to read to know about. As the characters navigate their rocky relationship their forced to evaluate the right from wrong. It's captivating and heartbreaking, Pepper Winters writing showcases the character's self discovery with all the dark and gritty details.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is yet the best book of the series, it just keeps getting better and better. Pepper had made me squirm on my seat yet again and anticipate for Pim and Elder's return.
This just broke my heart, I knew it was just a matter of time before Elder fell for Pim and the ghosts from their past doesn't seem to let them go.

“You just told me you want me so much it hurts. That’s the truth but I think you’re trying to push me away because you believe I’m not strong enough to be in a meaningful physical relationship. That my past will somehow come back to haunt me and I’ll hate you.”

There are heroes that can't have the things they wanted, cause they believe they are so tainted, they just wanted to suffer. Except Elder didn't think he was a hero, he's a big fat thief, a thief who stole a girl and now he's falling for her, fast.

“If I didn’t have feelings for her before, I sure as fuck did now.
She might have just stolen a book, but to me…to me, she’d just stolen my heart.”

In this book Pim became stronger and little by little, she became the person that she was before. There are still episodes left, fears, and doubts but Elder still came at them helping her overcome them.

I know how they are right for each other but they just end up tearing each other apart. They were beautiful together really, it takes two broken people to become whole.
I'll admit coming from Elder's perspective, he had every right to let Pim go, even if it hurts. What Elder doesn't know is that Pim became stronger and she is more than willing to fight.
But Elder drew a line.
Elder wanted Pim gone.
Tasmin became whole and anew again.
Will they be together again?
I fucking hope so.

This book is the third in a 5 book series. The first two, Pennies then Dollars need to be read, in order, before this one. I highly recommend that you start this series, as soon as possible!
I loved this book! I felt it was a perfect addition to the series. We really get to know both Pim and Elder, in their own words, on a much deeper level.
This picks up, where we left, at the end of Dollars. I was moved and amazed with Pim's growth and strength. She was the butterfly, pushing her way out of the cocoon that had ensnared her over the past few years...
" Either way, I would survive because I’d finally made that choice to pick living over dying. I’d finally reached the pinnacle where I was ready to say fuck you to my past and hello to my future. "
She wages a war on the terror that binds her, and I feel she won.
We also get to know so much more about Elder. We learn about his past and what lead him to the life he has now. I felt so much for them both. My heart bled for them both, over and over.
I became so anxious as I neared the end of this story. I knew it was coming to an end and I just wanted more! Then, that ending! I. Need. Thousands. Now!!!!!!
The final two books, in this series, Thousands and then Millions are due out this year. I am a HUGE fan of this author, she is one of my favorites, and I highly recommend anything she has written.
I was blessed with an ARC copy of this book and was further blessed to F(BR) this with my fellow shhluts!!
Now go and start this series! Happy reading and enjoy!!!

What’s this book about? (I'm trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
This is the third book in the Dollar series. The previous books must be read in order to understand what is going on. This is a dark romance with two leads that have a lot of hurdles to overcome. Go in with an open mind.

Song I listened to while interacting with this book: From Time – Drake feat. Jhené Aiko and Furthest Thing - Drake

When it rains, it POURS. My two little stubborn lovebirds were so stubborn in this instalment. I felt all the feels. Our girl went off here. SHE WENT OFF. I was so impressed with her. Everything she housed inside of her, just poured out and it showed not only us but everyone that SHE IS A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH. She has balls.
Elder… What can I say about this man and his heart? I think his heart has gone missing, but you should ask a certain someone about its location. Meanwhile, my heart was racing and going crazy over him and our girl. Their communication skills were a big fat zero at times, but what did we expect after what happened in the first two books.
Our girl transformed into a goddess in this book. (I think Eleanor from Goddess Isles would be jealous, OH SNAP). There were some major hints in this book and they weren’t fully unveiled. Pepper has two more books to lay it all out on us and I trust that it will be explosive.
I recommend this to readers that want a story of perseverance, strength, love, loss and pain. This is very dark and readers should proceed with caution. This is Pepper Winters at her finest dark moments.

This book!!! This series is turning into so much more than I was expecting. Pimlico has quickly turned into my all time favourite female character. I'm in absolute awe of her strength and resilience. Even though she's been broken/bent in the past, she's so determined to have a normal life that she's starting to take risks and push her own boundaries. I'm loving seeing how she's growing, changing and starting to put herself together with Elders help and guidance.

Elder intrigues me like no other character. I love a troubled, complex character and Pepper has brought a truly fascinating character to life. Fighting his own battles and trying to stay in control and protect himself and Pim, he has his reasons for doing what he does. Finding out more about who he really is and getting some of his history only made me fall even harder for him.

I've always said Pepper Winters has this unbelievable talent of weaving a tale that consumes you. Her words are like smoke slowing wrapping its tendrils gently around you and pulling you in without you even realising it, and this book is further proof of that. I got sucked in. I inhaled every single word. I started reading and before I knew it, I'd run out of pages to turn. The way the scenes are described and all the details that are included made me feel like I was watching it play out right in front of me. And the emotions!!! My heart did somersaults, and at times ached so bad for Pimlico and Elder. I got that nervous, butterfly feeling in my belly, I felt the pride at Pims achievements and the sadness and confusion that she's still dealing with. I'm living in Pims and Elders world and I'm absolutely loving it. Even after finishing this book, I'm still thinking about the characters and that's a rare thing for me.

Learning more about Elder’s past and how he copes, solidifies the reason for his intensity and choice to lead a solitary life on the Phantom.

“I wanted to own her every memory, not because such things would solidify my feelings for her, but because I needed to make what was hers mine.”

I am actually bereft of words on how to start or review this book. I've awaited this book, did some unhealthy stalking and feed in my obsession, just so I'll be able to know when this baby will come out. And when it did, I was off the grid. Go figure.

“He was violence as well as tenderness. He was obsession as well as rationality.”

Anyway, the previous installment, Dollars, end in a heart-stopping moment. And what do you know, this book did, too! I'm not sure how, but it's like every wish I have of how the story will unfold is being granted and my heart sings with joy and darkness, of the possibility of more pain.

The previous installments left me wanting more of Elder's thoughts and this book gave it all. But he has a chaotic mind as well as unhealthy habits that makes him the perfect anti-hero. And Pim is just wonderful. It's crazy to see how she have come so far and some of her unhealthy rationalization but her character development is becoming complex but that something you'd appreciate and love.
“Life was better. Life was mine to steal and manipulate and decide.”

One thing that held me back for that 1 star was that Elder's push and pull was an exhausting game for me. It feels like he's stringing me along for the ride and when he is that moment, I am left hanging with my emotions all over the place and replace with intensity and raw need.
“Never in my life had I been kissed so tenderly but so viciously.”

Overall, this book is just the perfect sequel and I cannot wait what will happen next.

“He stole every thought.
Pop.
He massacred every argument.
Dead.”

Books in Dollar series should be read in order:
Book 1: Pennies
Book 2: Dollars
Book 3: Hundreds
Book 4: Thousands

A hauntingly beautiful, gut wrenching 5 star story

Elder and Pimlico's story is far from perfect. They met in a time where she was ready to end it all and he was just a thief in the night.

Book three was everything I wanted and more. I was glued to every page, not wanting to put it down. I felt every bit of feeling from both Elder and Pim. Their story has had me captivated since the very first page in the very first book. To watch the tables turn as she is finding her strength and him finding his weakness.. her, is breath taking and heart breaking. I know there is still two more books left in this series, but I already know they will stay with me forever.

I am in complete aw of the way Pepper Winter's writes. her words are poetic and moving. She doesn't just simply write words, she tells a story like I am living every part of it.

I can't wait to see where Elder and Pimlico's story goes!

Several things that i do not like about this book:
1. Dragging. Its not slow bur but dragging.
2. The chemistry between Pim and Elder is very confusing. Are they interested to each other? If so, why they dragging back and forth just to have sex together.
3. How long it is to take Pim to trust Elder? Yes I know she went through a horrific past, but going back and forth with " Should I trust Elder or not?" is very frustrating.
4. Elder confession to Pim that he wants to have sex with her, but yet he done nothing to gain her trust.
5. Elder rapes Pim and just with a blink of the eye, she is drooling for Elder. She even loves him.

Things I like:
1. The steamy scenes are good.
2. We finally have a glimpse of Elder past. We know more about Elder.

Ohhhh!!! This series is turning into so much more than I was expecting. I absolutely love Pim's strength and resilience. Even though she's been broken/abused in the past, she's so determined to have a normal life that she's starting to take risk and pushes her own boundaries. I love how she starts trusting Elder, how she start something unique with the help of that strong, yet broken man.

I love a troubled, complex characters and Pepper did a great job delivering us truly fascinating character. Fighting his own demons and trying to stay in control in order to protect himself and Pim, he has his reasons for doing what he does. Finding out more about his troubled past made me understand and love him even more.

I dipped, dipped and dipped into the book, not wanting to let it go till I finished it and I was sooo consumed by it, I couldn't sleep, think straight... The emotions... they were so high and so strong I coudn't get past Pim and Elder's pain, it was like my pain. I am soo proud how PIm is improving, how she overcomes her fears. I hope Pim and Elder will find their way together and with the help of each other will overcome all the obstacles in their way!!

Thank you Pepper Winter for the chance!
