WBAP/KLIF News – Severe storms swept through the metroplex Friday evening, especially in Collin and Denton counties, with reports of hail reaching baseball size there.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect for the entire Dallas/Fort Worth area through 1:00 am Saturday morning. There was a confirmed tornado touchdown that occured earlier in the day in Valley View, between Gainesville and Sanger that crossed Interstate 35 during its time on the ground.

That same storm passed through northern Collin county, and produced hail near 3 inches in size in McKinney.

The storm is followed by a cold front which is expected to drop temperatures throughout Friday night and into the day Saturday with high temperatures in the upper 60’s expected.
