This year the 2018 Statewide Medical and Health Exercise (SWMHE) will take place during the third week of November.

The SWMHE Program consists of objective driven exercise templates and generic exercise templates to assist jurisdictions, organizations and facilities participate in the yearly exercise. The program utilizes the Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) and aligns with Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP)/Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) grant requirements.

Volunteers are being asked to participate as victims at one of the various participating locations in Orange County.  Please select a location to attend as a volunteer/victim.

All persons volunteering will be treated to lunch provided by the facility/location of exercise.

***Additional Information***

All volunteers MUST attend a short, one (1) hour, volunteer briefing; where all those attending will go through the check in process to receive:

·         An overview of the exercise

·         Their selected site and point of contact information

·         Their player/volunteer role (player card)

OC MRC

The Orange County Medical Reserve Corps (OCMRC) is a group of credentialed, organized medical and non-medical volunteers who assist during public health emergencies such as a major communicable disease outbreak, earthquake, flood, fire, or acts of terrorism. OCMRC volunteers work with the Health Care Agency to assist the local community during disasters. OCMRC also supports public health needs throughout the year by assisting in flu and other immunization clinics.
