A bold ambition for excellent cancer control for all citizens in Europe

Economist Impact’s  9th Annual World Cancer Series: Europe took place in Brussels in September. The two-day summit featured over 90 speakers and welcomed an audience representing policymakers, healthcare providers, industry leaders, academics, patient groups and investors.

The 2023 agenda built on last year’s themes of innovation, equity and excellence, which lie at the heart of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan. As the plan is implemented, it’s time to take stock and ask how the reality of cancer care in the region aligns with targets. The summit identified successes and what still needs attention. Increasing momentum towards achieving the plan’s objectives.

  • “World Cancer Series provides an unequalled opportunity for the patient voice to be heard by those concerned with the challenges of providing the best cancer treatment and care across Europe.”

  • “Engaging event with excellent discussion with the spotlight on perception of cancer from prevention, diagnosis, innovation on genomic testing (personalised) and ultimately cure or low remission.”

  • “The event provided broad insights into cancer health policy, challenges, hardships and trends. The diversity of speakers and networking opportunities enriched the conference experience. Highly impactful event.”

  • “One of the best events I have been to this year. With 100+ speakers and 350+ attendees, we had two days filled with networking experiences, breakout roundtables, and conference sessions.”

  • “What an amazing opportunity to meet EU leading stakeholders in cancer care and prevention.”
