Graphene Uses

Graphene is the strongest material in the world and have many super features in ( Electronics , Power , Nanotechnology , Mechanics , Safety ..... and more ) so it enter in a lot of fields and everyday Graphene uses grow for give manufacturing material more strong and great feature ... we are interesting in all Graphene uses and news .

Graphene battery how change the future ?! [5 reasons]

Graphene battery technology will change the future

Graphene battery technology will change the future

Graphene battery comes to solve many problems of batteries by enhance power and safety and avoid accidents and bad material that hurt the environment, Since the first battery invented in the world in 1800 by Italian physicist “Alessandro Volta” it had made through a stack of copper and zinc plates separated by brine-soaked paper disks that could produce a steady current for a considerable time.
but this battery faced problem in practice because their voltages fluctuate and they could not provide a large current for a sustained period.
But in 1836 British chemist “John Frederic Daniell” invented the first practical source of electricity and called “Daniell cell” and becoming an industry standard to seeing widespread adoption as a power source for electrical telegraph networks.

In the 1970s start rechargeable Lithium batteries were proposed by British chemist “M. Stanley Whittingham” and crossed through many developments and until now a lot of efforts to modify batteries for make it more effective and efficient special using nanotech and nanomaterials and graphene one of best nanotechnology to make future batteries.

Graphene battery change the future by :

1- More power:

Researchers at Northwestern University invent an especially graphene electrode can allow a lithium-ion battery to store 10 times as much power, this new tech depends in Lithium-ion anode made of perforated graphene + silicon bitsThe new anode is made from sheets of graphene and researchers have punched millions of tiny (10-20nm) holes through each layer of graphene that can make lithium ion get more effective through by width reaction area by these nanoholes and ion having to travel around the outer edge of each graphene layer, they can now just jump through the holes.
can imagine how this tech amazing when changing your mobile phone battery capacity from 3,000 to became 30,000 mAh!!!

2- Charging fast:

A Chinese company called Dongxu Optoelectronics, released graphene-enhanced battery the battery pack is called the G-King. It has a 4,800mAh capacity, Dongxu claims the battery can recharge in 13 to 15 minutes. and Dongxu says the cell is strong enough to be discharged and recharged 3,500 times, which it states is 7 times the strength of a conventional Li-Ion battery.
3- Safety:

All people dream and seeking have a new generation of the batteries with growing in the capacity of batteries and make it get charging faster but that can make the battery instability and maybe causes the bad accidents.
The research can point out a new strategy to deal with this challenge in batteries by the ultra low local current density induced by conductive nanostructured anodes with the high specific surface area can help improve the safety, stability and electrochemistry performance of lithium metal anodes.

4- Wearables:

We all know all batteries in nowadays is not flexible and that appear as big obstacle to make full flexible wearables but graphene present new kind of batteries depends on capacitors and produced a stretchy micro-supercapacitor using ribbons of graphene.
super-capacitors have a higher power density and longer life cycle than standard capacitors or batteries and appear as the best alternative to traditional batteries technology.

5- Environmentally friendly:

Graphene battery technology safeguarded the environment by two ways enhancing batteries performance without adding harmful substances such as lead, mercury, and cadmium in battery materials.
The second way by making battery have a longer life and that make waste from batteries less, some research succeeded to up battery life from 7 to 10 times than existing battery discharged and recharged cycles.
