Turkish mocha coffee

Turkish coffee, which is known and spread in the world, is an integral part of the cultural history and social history for the Turks. The coffee, which the Ottoman Empire was introduced to in the 16th century, gradually became an important part of social life, became one of the important documents of literary life that had its place in the friendly assemblies and played a leading role in the hospitality of the guests.

It is one of the most beautiful and custom habits of traditional Turkish culture. No taste after meal will fill her place. It is a time to take a break, a pleasant occasion for pleasant conversations, a taste to relax after a heavy meal. It is stimulating, calming, pleasant and tasty. It is a culture that is a gift to the world, a hot drink and a place of customs and traditions.

There are different rumors from where the Coffee comes to the Ottomans (Turks). The name Coffee comes from arabic "kahwa" as a word. The Homeland is Ethiopia, it is close to reason that it is the old name of a coffee-growing region there. It is taken from Kaffa. Kaffa means fragrance.

Around Yemen, the coffee is called "bun". Another name for the Coffe is there Moka. The word is taken from the town of Muha in the east of the Red Sea. But the name on every corner of the world is a word close to coffee. French café, English coffee, Germans Kaffee, Hungarians kave, Turks kahve and Greek kafes.

Coffee was introduced to Mecca and Egypt after Yemen. The first coffee shop opened in Cairo in 1521. Dr. Rauvvolf, who lived in the Middle Eastern countries between 1573 and 1578, wrote that he was drinking coffee in these countries.

In the same year coffee shops were opened in Aleppo, Damascus, Baghdad and Tehran. Coffee came to Istanbul after Cairo, Damascus and Aleppo in the Ottoman Empire. It is reported that for the first time, coffee was brought to the Turks in 1555 by two Syrians named Hükm and Şems. In some other sources it is noted that during the reign of Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent (1520-1566) coffee was brought by Özdemir Pasha, governor of Abyssinia.

Since then the mocha coffee has become one of the Turkish specialties.

I am American but have recently become interested in the turkish culture because if the movies çalikuşu, kurt seyit ve şura, and muhteşem yüzyıl which can be found on Netflix

turkish coffee is usually burnt during roasting and overboiled . not especially a good way to consume coffee . my 2 kurus.
