I enjoyed this one for the most part. It was well-written. Had a nice pace to it. The sex scenes were hot (not smokin' hot). It was fairly low angst and had no OW/OM drama. It also had some interesting side characters (I am especially interested in Julian and Kendall's book.) A VERY lovable heroine and if I was to rate it on Cassie alone the book would have been 5 stars.
Unfortunately, I didn't particularly like Derek. He is one of those heroes that carries a chip on his shoulder over what life has dished out to him. I understood to a point, but Cassie was such a sweet person, and even knowing this he still planned on using her to destroy the company that she loved so much. Oh, sure he eventually comes around and fesses up and stops blaming her for things every other member of her family did. But honestly, by that point, I was just sort of over him.
Overall it wasn't a bad book. Like I said the heroine was one of the sweetest most genuine ones I have even come across and while I was left feeling happy for her. I couldn't help but feel just a tiny bit like she deserved someone better than Derek.

➳Derek and Cassie make an incredible appearance in this new installment to the Billionaire Bad Boys series by Carly Phillips. Both characters portray the same cliche but uniquely put story of how second chances do exist. In a way, the cliche aspect of it is somewhat thrilling to read because both of the characters have an incredible chemistry, and lust attractions that were not burnt the first time they “tried” to be together. However, due to the fact that the reading felt a tiny pinch rushed, the story itself had a different meaning than the previous stories written by Carly.
➳As second chances go, this one was a sweet one to read. After years of not seeing each other, and finding a way to let their pasts go, but doing it in a hard way at first, Cassie and Derek find a way to move past them and let their feelings for each other enhance through the power of the same field that they work in and also the similarities they have that go beyond a working environment. Though drama arises from both parties, they seem to overcome it TOGETHER, which was endearing to read.
➳This love story has an incredible mixture of everything that will swoon you away. Even though it is placed in the third perspective, and I found kind of hard to enjoy in SOME scenes, overall I found it enticing to read.

Carly Phillips does it again! I love her sexy heroes and strong female characters! Going Down Hard is steamy, sweet, and emotional. Derek and Cassie were such a great couple and it was great to explore their relationship evolution.
Here’s what I absolutely loved: Cassie was the standout for me. She’s strong, driven, compassionate, and tenacious. Although her family sucks, she’s an amazing woman. I enjoy getting to experience characters who don’t fit into the traditional models we expect, and Cassie is definitely that type of character.
I also really enjoyed Derek’s drive and family dynamic. His parent’s influence in his life and well as the role his mother current plays was a great characteristic.
Overall, this book features a great story with excellent character development, interesting family dynamics, and fantastic main characters. The storyline and plot were both well-done. Although part of a series, Going Down Hard can definitely be read as a standalone. The setup for the next book in series is completely fascinating. I’m on pins and needles waiting for Julian and Kendall’s story!

Going Down Hard is an fantastic reading experience full of romance, drama, angst, real-life issues and everything in between. It left me with a smile on my face. If you enjoy a good mix of romance, sensuality and sex with fantastic secondary characters and a sweet happy ending, give it a try.
This is the story of a poor boy named Derek who falls in love with a beautiful rich girl, Cassie. Derek has always had warm feelings for Cassie. But he's pushed them aside, because when they were eighteen, Cassie did not defend him when her best friends started belittling his mother and mocking him. About ten years forward, they meet again and Derek can’t help himself. He's gotta have her and Cassie is up for the challenge.
The erotic scenes were very sensual and erotic and had me squirming in my seat. This book entertained, kept me turning the pages, and made me tear up at the end. The characters were so damn likable, that I couldn't help but love the book.

And once they meet again after so many years they realize that the same sparks are still flying like crazy!
I really enjoyed this book!
It was movingly adorable right from the prologue, where we saw poor Derek wanting to be with Cassie, but she couldn't let go of her bitchy rich girl facade in the presence of her girlfriends. I really felt so sad for Derek. But we also see that Cassie didn't really mean what she said to her girlfriends. But that seems to be Cassie's thing. She's not saying what she should be saying. She couldn't fight against her bitchy girlfriends and now she can't fight against her dad and her brother. She's not saying anything. She doesn't fight back. I could've slapped her right through my kindle. Numerous times.
She comes across as this super weak person! Ugh. But I still liked her. I liked that she still had those dreams for the company. But she just didn't do enough fighting.
But it definitely gets better ... now she has Derek - maybe together they can save the company.
But Derek might be more interested in a little revenge ... he wants to buy the company and enjoy a little time in the bedroom to get her out of his system.
But of course love gets in the way of things.... ☺
I really enjoyed those two fighting for what they want.
It was of course way too short - a real full length novel would've been so much better!
It was all a bit insta. But I still really loved it! What's not to love about a very adorable & moving & sexy romance with lots of hot guys to swoon over?! ☺
Now I can't wait for the next book - Kendall and *gasp* Julian!! He was the bad guy in the last book!!!!

My FAVORITE of the Billionaire Bad Boys gets his chance in GOING DOWN HARD, book three in the sexy Billionaire Bad Boys Series, by Carly Phillips. Each book can be read as a standalone, but I bet you're going to want to meet ALL OF THEM at some point. Derek West is sexy, a little cocky, and extremely gorgeous. He is a tech genius, which makes him even HOTTER in my book! He has set his sights on the beautiful Cassie Storm, a girl he once knew in his past life. He's been holding on to this anger when it comes to her, but when she steps into his office to beg for an interview, all thoughts go to how gorgeous she has become and how driven she is in her career. The match has been struck!

"How do you engage my entire body with a simple kiss?"
Oh but Mr. West has so much more up his sleeves.

That's a little simplistic maybe, but it makes the point. Everything Derek is today he made for himself. As a teenager, he was rejected by Cassie and her family. He wasn't good enough.
Well, that was then and this is now .... Today, it is Cassie who needs the help. And it gives them both an opportunity at a second chance to get it right. Maybe. Hopefully :)
I loved this story so much. It was a perfect blend of sexy and passionate all cocooned in one giant heart. The story made me happy. The writing style put a smile on my face. Prepare yourselves for the #feels <3 I loved how their journey wasn't perfect. There were misunderstandings sprinkled with a little drama to make sure the story was relatable.
I still have a huge smile on my face days after finishing this book!

My guilty pleasure is billionaires and boy does she bring it with this grudge to true love tale. They were meant to be and even with past transgressions and future conflict, true love always prevails.
The characters in this particular tale were complex with many layers to their personalities. Not only did you get to see the person they needed to be for their families, their jobs, but who they were on the inside and how all that changed over time when the right person comes along. A cool twist, almost Romeo and Juliet style from the dueling families angle. Kept my intrigue and interest from the first page.

Going Down Hard grabbed me right from the very beginning. From the moment we meet Cassie and Derek, we can’t help but be pulled into their story. Derek came from a less than desirable background, but felt an undeniable connection with Cassie. Cassie was the rich girl who had the world at her feet. Derek knew they were total opposites, but you know the saying, the heart wants what the heart wants. So, when Derek finally makes his move, all it takes is a simple misunderstanding and destroy everything they both wanted. Now, years later, Derek and Cassie will be reunited. Cassie never forgot the man who captured her heart at such a young age. And Derek isn’t sure he can forget and forgive the past. Will these two be able to clear the air and find their happily ever after? There is only one way to find out….
Overall, I thought this was a really great read. I am a sucker for a great second chance romance and was pleased that Going Down Hard does not disappoint. It was fast paced and entertaining. For me, I found the story-line to be a lot of fun and I thought that it was well written. The characters were easy to connect with and they kept you wanting to come back for more. I loved the chemistry between Derek and Cassie. It was very palpable and hard to deny. I loved seeing these two together and really enjoyed seeing them try to navigate their way through their pasts and find their happy ending.
Going Down Hard is a fantastic addition to the Billionaire Bad Boys Series. This is the perfect read to just spend the day getting lost in. Overall a very enjoyable read and I’m excited to see where this series is going to go next.

Overall, I thought this was a really great read. I am a sucker for a great second chance romance and was pleased that Going Down Hard does not disappoint. It was fast paced and entertaining. For me, I found the story-line to be a lot of fun and I thought that it was well written. The characters were easy to connect with and they kept you wanting to come back for more. I loved the chemistry between Derek and Cassie. It was very palpable and hard to deny. I loved seeing these two together and really enjoyed seeing them try to navigate their way through their pasts and find their happy ending.
Going Down Hard is a fantastic addition to the Billionaire Bad Boys Series. This is the perfect read to just spend the day getting lost in. Overall a very enjoyable read and I’m excited to see where this series is going to go next.

Did anyone else find it impossible NOT to fall for Derek West? He was such an amazing character! Cassie Storm wasn't half bad either.
Cassie and Derek share history. Her family was rich and he was their gardener and maid's son. The people and the environment gave Derek a skewed opinion on all rich people. Not to mention a scandal that helped to destroy his family.
Once away at college on a scholarship, Derek buckled down and worked hard with his two best friends, Kaden and Lucas, to create an app that catapulted his career and made him into a successful billionaire. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to interview the mysterious Derek brings Cassie back into his life. It doesn't take him long to realize that she's nothing like he imagine. He gets more than a glimpse of her innate goodness. But is what they share enough to conquer the deep scars created by the past?
The author did an amazing job of detailing the growth of the characters as individuals and the development of their relationship with each other. and those intimate scenes were definitely steamy! Although I would have liked more of a conclusion to Derek and Cassie's story, I did like how it alluded to what may take place in the next book with Kendall and Julian.

I am in LOVE with this series!! If I'm honest, I am in love with every single thing I read from this author. She is my absolute MUST READ, MUST ONE CLICK without even reading the description. So after reading about Kade and Lucas, I could not wait to read about Derek. I have really enjoyed getting glimpses of his character in the first two. And even though this is part of a series you can read it as a standalone. That being said I do think you will enjoy it more if you have read the others because you get a glimpse into the "dynamic trio" as I like to call them. Derek and Cassie knew each other when they were younger. Cassie grew up with all the money advantages and Derek was the son of the help. And now Derek is a self made billionaire and Cassie comes barreling back into his life where they both discover that the spark they had all those years ago was still alive and well and magnified by 10. I love the relationship between Derek and Cassie and how they have certain obstacles to work through which is very real. Every relationship has obstacles and I found it refreshing to see how even though it's a book these are things that really happen in "real" life. I am always left very happy at the end of Ms. Phillips' books and definitely want more. I can't wait to see what comes next!! Highly recommend not just this book but this author! She is fantastic!!

Ohhhhh Carly Phillips! This was my favorite yet in the Billionaire Bad Boys series!!!! What can I say about Derek West other than WOW!!!!!!!!! He rocked my socks. Totally and completely had me hooked on him. He was intense, sexy, alpha, sexy, awesome, did I say sexy? HOT! ;) And I adored Cassie. The fact that she didn't let her family shape her future self. She was independent, head strong, determined and loyal to her grandfather. I really loved all that about her.
Their chemistry was totally off the charts. Their connection since they were just teenagers never diminished and in fact only got stronger after years of not seeing each other.
This was a great, quick, sexy, intriguing read that will leave you feeling great!

Derek loves his dog, he really does but there are times he doesnt like when his dog gets in the wau, "...ended with his big, hairy dog jumping on his hind legs, begging for attention from either adult. She stepped back, laughing as she knelt to pet him. “effing dog ***k-blocked me,” he muttered." I liked that Derek was a considerate man, "...he pulled back, unzipping her jacket and tossing it to the floor in the hallway. She kicked off her shoes. “Do I need to feed you dinner first?” he asked, trying to be a gentleman." I really enjoyed this book Derek was thoughtful amd kind, and Cassie was the roght woman for him.

Oh I wanted so badly to give this book the full 5 star rating but I sadly felt there was just something missing.
DO NOT GET ME WRONG I loved the storyline and as with all her previous books in perfect Carly way they have elements we all crave for these type of stories.
At the beginning of the book we meet Derek West and Cassie Storm. He is pretty much the son of the help, however there is even from the start a connection between both of them and so far Derek has put Cassie on a pedestal. Sadly one day this changes and perhaps in its own way, is the driving force behind Derek's determination to do whatever it takes to become someone and to hope that one day he can prove his worth. Sadly his time at Cassie's family doesn't end well for his parents and this puts a wedge between his true feelings and those of "revenge". As time is brought forward destiny places them in each other path, however Derek now a successful business man, has other plans for Cassie and the family business. One thing you do know about plans is that they tend in the majority of cases to go up in flames and soon his perfectly constructed plan goes to pieces when he is once again reunited with the woman he has lived to forget. This is the part of the story where I thought I was going to see more angst. I honestly thought Derek was going to truly make Cassie work for what she wanted, regardless of the misunderstandings time had passed and generally you don't forget past aggressions in one day, I loved the interaction between them but I wanted a bit more of a pent up energy and build up to make it more real and complete.
I loved seeing some of the previous characters make an appearance within the story, I will definitely love to read more from this Author she is always a safe bet to produce an entertaining read.

Going Down Hard is the third book in the Bad Boy Billionaire series. Each one can pretty much stand alone, so you won't loose much by not reading them in order. This one is Derek and Cassie's story. The couple grew up together, but in different circles. Derek's parents were the caretakers for Cassie's rich parents. After his mother was accused of theft and fired years before, Derek has always wanted revenge on the family.
I have been enjoying this series and this one definitely added to my enjoyment. I loved Cassie and Derek together. Their attraction was off the charts. I have always loved second chance stories. Their past was one of misunderstanding and hurt feelings. I was really rooting for these two to make it. It was appalling how Cassie's family treated her. So, the justice that was done in the end was priceless!
I highly recommend this one as well as the first two int eh series. I am so looking forward to Julian and Kendall's story. I know that one is going to be gut wrenching!

Going Down Hard is the third standalone novel in Carly Phillips Billionaire Bad Boys Series and it is just as good as the first two. I thoroughly enjoy this series and am truly happy to see that there will be a fourth book :)
This book is kind of a second chance romance, but not really because Derek and Cassie are never really together when they were younger, just had feelings for each other before they are separated for some years. So I guess it follows on the same theme as a second chance romance. I absolutely love Carly’s writing style. She gets to the heart of the story right away without adding a bunch of filler that slows the pace of the book down. The flow and pace of this book was perfect. I find her storylines and characters great and relatable. You can’t help but fall in love with all the characters she introduces in her stories. Yes she has the characters that you love to hate as well, but I won’t linger on them.
Going Down Hard is a quicker read and not full of a lot of drama. There was just enough to keep things interesting and wanting the reader to keep turning the pages. The only thing I wish would’ve happened and that I felt was a little anticlimactic…was the solution with Spencer. I wanted to know more about that situation….I felt it wrapped up too quickly and easily. But that didn’t diminish my enjoyment of this book.

Derek was raised in a poor family, whose parents were a maid and a gardener for the Storms. That is how he knew Cassie when they were younger. Now years later Cassie is trying to prove herself to her father so that he will hand over their family business to her. She reconnects with Derek when she decides to do an article for her tech magazine and wants to interview him. Will Derek open himself up to her?? Can he ever get over what Cassie did in the past and how her family hurt his?? Read this book to find out.
I enjoyed reconnecting with the past couples of the other books. This book is completely a standalone and the previous books are not required to be read first. Although I recommend reading them all at some point, because this is a great series and one you’ll want to revisit many times over.
Definitely worth your time to read this book!!!!

I must say this book was PHENOMENAL. I say this with each book by these two but this one....took the icing on the cake.
Derek's hate passion he has for Cassie Storms has been a thorn in his side for years. Her family was the epitome of the word "snob" and because Cassie wanted to try to just "fit in"-- young and naïve that her friends are her true friends--she all to realizes that it costed her something major--Derek.
Both Cassie and Derek take off for college days after everything went to hell not realizing more lies and deceit would soon come face to face with them years later when their worlds have changed completely.
Derek is no longer the maid and gardner's son-- he is a CEO. He is cold towards people people he was lied to so much and by somone he strongly cared for. He grew walls around everyone except those closest to him and Cassie---where to begin-- her family has grown so cold and so many lies where told she doesn't know what to believe but she wants one thing and that's her father's company--to keep it running the way it was suppose to but her brother has become the golden child when he has never worked a day in his life--still getting everything handed to him on a silver platter-- but Cassie is need of help--Majorly and she must come face to face with the one man she thought she never would see again. Can he forgive her for what she did to him years ago even if it crushed her heart by her own actions and her not meaning anything by it???
Going Down Hard is the story for everyone. This story brings forth so many things that people are faced with today-- kids saying hurtful things to others. People lieing to others all because of a social status. People getting hurt. Dreams being crushed and dreams being born. This story will have you crying for the relationships lost and the things said. Will have you swooning with love... have you laughing so hard at the banter between these two and will have your heart melting at the love shown by two people who thought love was lost.
Carly and Erika when they come together are POWERFUL--AMAZING--PHENOMENAL--EXTROIDIONARLY AWESOME. The creativity but yet real life stories that are brought to life by you two are always a blessing. We get fire passion and deep love in each and every story. I feel as I am always seeing it played out before me gripping me by the heart strings. Their stories are heart gripping and panty melting and "Going Down Hard" is the best yet. It definitely went down hard in the books of most amazing story.

Carly and Erika when they come together are POWERFUL--AMAZING--PHENOMENAL--EXTROIDIONARLY AWESOME. The creativity but yet real life stories that are brought to life by you two are always a blessing. We get fire passion and deep love in each and every story. I feel as I am always seeing it played out before me gripping me by the heart strings. Their stories are heart gripping and panty melting and "Going Down Hard" is the best yet. It definitely went down hard in the books of most amazing story.
