Galaxy S8 April 21 announcement

Samsung is yet to officially launch its upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S8. But, most of the information about the device has already surfaced on the internet in the form of image leaks and specs rumours. In the latest move, handful images of Galaxy S8's UI and app icons have been posted by the folks at SamMobile. Going by the screenshots, we can conveniently claim that Samsung has given its new flagship an interface makeover with remodeled app icons. These images come from APK of Samsung Smart Switch.

The leaked images of Galaxy S8's UI are not of crisp clear, but we can still figure out the changes. Of course, Samsung is going to launch these devices running with Nougat out-of-the-box and its own Samsung Experience UI skin on top, formerly known as TouchWiz. The screenshots of Samsung's new UI showcase a simpler and more convenient approach to make things easier for users. The Galaxy S8 will be the first device to tread on company's new motto of making the interface simplistic.

As you can see in the screenshots, the icons have a new design that is circular with curves around the edges. The icon art has also undergone a redesign that gives a refreshed feel to the Galaxy lineup. All these app icons now look simpler, and users will find it easier to navigate through the UI.

These images also show how far Samsung has come from the days when it heavily relied on taking inspiration from iOS for its UI design. This time around we can see a substantial overhaul from the previous version of TouchWiz. The company will be introducing the Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones at the Unpacked event on March 29 and is most likely to start the sales from April 21.

We will get to see the devices in their full glory very soon, but until then we must brace ourselves to see more and more leaked information and images on the internet. We wonder how such details manage to slip out without Samsung's consent, or maybe this is a part of marketing to leave users wanting for more sneak peeks. We can't really vouch for anything regarding that, right?
