In a new edition of ‘Matt Horn Meets…’, he recently interviewed Peter Outerbridge. In this roughly 40-minute interview, Matt and Peter talk about Far Cry 5, what made Peter want to get into acting, Saw VI and a number of other things.

Happy Birthday to Peter Outerbridge! He turns 52 today.

Some of you may remember that Peter Outerbridge starred in Syfy’s 12 Monkeys as Elliot Jones, husband of Katarina Jones, in seasons 1 and 2. One of the season 4 trailers features a brief scene with Peter, which indicates that Elliot will be back on our screens in the time travel adventure that is currently airing its 4th season.

The first three episodes of the season aired on June 15, 2018, the rest will follow in increments of three on Syfy on June 22 and Jun 29, respectively, with the series finale airing on July 06, 2018, starting at 8/7c. You can check the Project Splinter website for more details.

Even more exciting is a recent announcement that Peter was added as series regular in the upcoming vampire drama V-Wars that is being produced by Netflix. Based on a book by Jonathan Maberry, it depicts a universe where the world is taken over by virus-transformed, murderous predators. Peter will play Calix Niklos, who is described as “an elegant, malicious science expert on the Homeland Security Team.” Also starring are Ian Somerhalder and Adrian Holmes.

QuestionIs Peter actually in Code 8? He is credited in imdb movie page, but I don’t see him around this movie. Also what happened to No Easy Days? Do you have any idea? Answer

I had not actually heard about Code 8 before, so unfortunately I can’t give you an answer. He may be cast in a very small role, which is possibly why he’s not been mentioned or shown.

I wish I knew what was going on with No Easy Days. I actually pledged for their crowdfunding campaign, but there has not been any communication around the project since then, and the message I’ve sent to them went unanswered.

It always seemed to me like they had already shot the series and were looking to finish post-production and then sell it to someone willing to broadcast it. It may have gotten stuck at that last part, with no one showing interest. Quite a bummer, I’d love to see it!

Update: Apparently No Easy Days will finally be released this year. More details to come as I hear about them.

In case there’s still any ReGenesis fans around, I updated some of my Peter Outerbridge screencaps in the gallery today.

I have replaced the old ones with new, higher resolution images from the Blu-rays for episodes 1x01 to 1x05 and 1x08. I’m planning to do this for all of them eventually, but it might take a while. Stay tuned.

Unfortunately, the picture quality is very grainy in a good number of them, but that’s due to the source material.

The NBC show Taken will premier its second season on Jan 12, 2018 at 9 pm ET, and Peter Outerbridge is set to guest star in the premiere as a character named James Casey.

Bryan Mills (Clive Standen) fights for his life inside a secret Mexican prison and plans a series of dangerous deals to put him on track for escape to the United States. But plans change when Mills and a young migrant girl (guest star Adriana Santos) are taken by human traffickers. Meanwhile, Christina Hart (Jennifer Beals) leverages her spycraft skills to obtain powerful new software that could locate Mills, and enlists two unlikely allies to aid in her mission to bring Mills home.

Taken airs in Canada on Global TV. A Canadian season 2 premiere airdate is not yet known.

Peter has joined a new short film project called Viaticum as one of the main cast members. The film is currently looking for more backers on Indiegogo to reach their $20,000 CAD goal so they can pay for equipment, set dressing, locations, food and crew honorariums.

Perks that include a link to the finished film start at $100, but any money you can give will help. Go to their Indiegogo page if you wish to contribute.

Here’s more information about the film.

Thirty years after her brother’s suicide and leaving home, Liz, getting her life on track, is faced with the toughest decision of all. She must choose to forgive the man who caused so much pain and life of hardship. She must choose to forgive her dying father.

Viaticum is based on a short story by Maureen Jennings, the author of the Murdoch Mysteries. It follows Liz and Father Warren. Liz, a former prostitute and alcoholic, is informed that her father is dying. She must make the journey back to Toronto to see him for the first time in 30 years and she must decide to forgive him for the abuse and the death of her brother. Father Warren, is giving Frank, Liz’s father, his last rites, learns about Liz, and has his own inner struggle with faith. Liz arriving too late, crosses paths with the Father, both unaware of the other, both not knowing the reason.

Looks like Peter is going to star in at least one episode of the upcoming season 2 of the sci-fi show The Expanse. There’s a short trailer about the Powerful Women of The Expanse which briefly features him in one very short scene.

It’s unclear which episode exactly this is, but there’s an IMDb credit for a stunt double for him in episode 2x11. Judging from the uniform, he plays a Martian representing the MCRN. It’s gonna be interesting, for sure! More details to follow as they come in.

Season 2 of The Expanse will premiere on Syfy on Feb 1, 2017 at 10/9c.

CBC’s new drama series Pure premiered yesterday evening, and the remaining five episodes will be airing every Monday at 9pm ET on CBC.

Tune in if you wanna see Peter Outerbridge in the role of Eli Voss.

Also, the link above leads to a 6-minute audio interview with AJ Buckley and Peter Outerbridge that’s really interesting.

In other news: Peter guest starred not too long ago on episodes 1x01 and 1x10 of Kiefer Sutherland’s new show, Designated Survivor. Don’t get too excited, though. His role was very small, and I wasn’t all that impressed with the rest of the show.

Peter Outerbridge will take on the role of Eli Voss in the new CBC drama Pure, which is filming in Nova Scotia and is said to air in winter 2017.

PURE tells the story of Noah Funk, a newly-elected Mennonite pastor, who is determined to rid his community of drug traffickers by betraying a fellow Mennonite to the police. But instead of solving the problem, Noah’s actions trigger an ultimatum from mob leader Eli Voss: in order to protect his family, he must get involved in the illegal operation. Noah decides that if he must work for the mob, he will secretly gather enough evidence to dismantle the organization.

Noah finds his beliefs and principles challenged every step of the way. Struggling to save his soul and complete his mission, Noah receives help from an unlikely source: his high school nemesis, local cop Bronco Novak. With his law-enforcement career hanging by a thread, Bronco sees the case as his ticket to redemption.

QuestionI am the director of episode 412 and wondered where the transcript of the Rehersal with Peter Mayko and myself came from. Thanks. Answer

Hey Cal, glad you stumbled across my blog. I’m not sure when you sent this message, but if it was a while ago, I apologize for not answering sooner. Tumblr didn’t notify me, and so I only saw it today.

The transcript of that behind-the-scenes snippet is, in fact, from the Japanese season 4 DVD set. Which I own. Don’t ask. There’s an interview with Peter on that DVD set, and it has a bit of BTS footage interspersed. You can watch it on my website or on Vimeo. The scene in question is around time point 5:50.

I hope you read this. If you do, I can’t say often enough how much I still love ReGenesis. You guys all did fantastic work, and when I met Peter in 2013, he spoke so fondly of the show. We had a long conversation about it.

Take a look at the brand new trailer for Len and Company. Opening in theaters and VOD June 10, 2016.

Peter Outerbridge in season 1 of the TV show The Art of More

Generally Speaking:
If I had to summarize this show in one word, it would be… meh. Okay, maybe I should be too harsh, because admittedly I’ve only see the first two episodes, but I honestly have better things to do with my time than to spend it on watching ten episodes of boring as shit, uninspired TV series.

So what is it actually about? In four words? New York auction houses. High profile auction houses and how they acquire the items they auction off. Lots of filthy rich snob types and stylish business people, trying to make more money. Through rather shady means if necessary.

It stars Dennis Quaid and a number of people I’ve never seen before. The main heartthrob, played by one Christian Cooke, did nothing for me personally. Neither as a character nor as an actor. I might not be doing him justice by saying so, because it could just have been the poorly written script.

POB Factor:
He plays the father of one of the female leads. The first time we see him, he just had a mild heart attack. He runs one of the big auction houses the show centers around.

Not too much screen time for him in the handful of episodes he’s in. Maybe two or three scenes in each episode, and it’s also nothing that caters to his acting skills. Just plain ol’ dad who likes to wear fancy suits and condescend some to his daughter.

POB appears in episodes 1x02, 1x03, 1x04, 1x06 and 1x09.

My Recommendation:
Not worth your time. I found it boring and unoriginal. POB is barely in it. I didn’t make it past the first two episodes and don’t think I missed much. Sorry, kids. Skip this one. Seriously.

And I apologize for not updating the site in a while. So let’s recap what’s been going on in recent months. We’ve see a few new credits pop up on IMDb lately, and here’s what I’ve been able to find out about them:

  • Blood and Water
A Canadian police crime/drama show that is set in Canada and revolves around crime cases with a Chinese connection. Peter plays one of the main characters (a detective). The show premiered on OMNI television in November 2015. I’ve seen the first few episodes, it’s worth watching if you like crime shows. All episodes are subtiled both in English and Chinese.

  • The Art of More
An American TV show that premiered in November 2015 on Cracke TV. The first season has 10 episodes, five or which Peter guest-stars in as father of Roxanna Whitman. The main premise of the show revolves around high-profile auction houses in NY and how they acquire the art and items they are aucioning off. I found the first two episodes very bland and uninspiring, and have not ventured further. Peter’s role is fairly small. To me, it seems puzzling that it’s been renewed for a second season, when all around high quality shows like Bomb Girls get cancelled…

  • Houdini and Doyle
An American/British/Canadian co-production about the friendship between Harry Houdini and Arthur Conan Doyle. Peter will play Thomas Edison in episode 9. The show is set to debut on FOX in the US, and then later to be shown by ITV in the UK and Global in Canada. It saw spring 2016 mentioned in an article, but an exact air date is not yet known.

  • No Easy Days
Yeah, that one. What’s going on with this show? They were running a crowdfunding campaign to get it produced, or post-produced, or something like that. It sounds like it was already shot, but it doesn’t look as if any TV network has picked it up yet. Peter plays Paul Reynolds, the US President, whose daughter gets kidnapped. It’ll probably be an action/thriller type show along the lines of 24.

  • Len and Company
This is a feature film that premiered at the Edinburgh Film Festival in June last year. It’s also been shown at TIFF in November 2015. Reviews were rather mediocre, and that’s putting it politely. An official release date is currently unknown. It sounds like there’s a good chance it might go straight to DVD.

  • Voracious
Last but not least, this one seems a bit of a mystery. It popped up in Peter’s IMDb credits, but little is known as to what it actually is. It sounds like a feature film, but I couldn’t find any info that gives us more details. Time will hopefully tell.
