Odin is a utility software developed and used internally by Samsung which can be used to flash a Custom Recovery firmware image (as opposed to the Stock recovery firmware image) to a Samsung Android device. It is also used as a way of unbricking an Android device. There is no account of Samsung ever having officially released it, and is believed to be the result of an unintentional leak.
Odin is Windows only software, providing no support for other operating systems, though it is possible to use Wineskin on the Odin executable, allowing it to run on OS X.

I think so yes, but i only judged by looking at the properties of the exe and how much the filesize changed (my antivirus also didn't complain).

I could run this through some online AV's and examine the internal file-structure to see if its compressed/(en)crypted.

i compared too but isn't it little bit strange that there isn't any other source for this version?!

Edit: after searching i found this website: http://drivers.mydrivers.com/drivers/479_191641.htm

its legit

I dug this up a few months ago in April for my Upgrading and Downgrading via Odin to preserve KNOX 0x0 and warranty. it features Auto-FOTA and Auto-PIT(altho unverified) was an internal Samsung release I grabbed from one of their servers. a search on XDA could have shown you that its been around :p

4.x-to-4.4.2-SAFEUP-or-DOWNgrade w Root&SafeStrap ...
Odin 3.10 (The newest and best option for Odin.) SuperSu 1.94 (IN both a flashable thru Safestrap .zip and a .apk - thanks to Chainfire)
xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2720163

gogOdin-ODINv3.10.rar
OTA?: no type: Tool size: 802.5KB upload date: Apr-20-2014, 09:04PM

I dug this up cannot verify its the newest version or that it is real, pretty sure it includes Auto-Fota which I believe maybe a temp auto backup of the files odin will write over possibly temporarily stored in blk 22 not 100% sure as just searching for this new version yields 0 results until now. ini file has been modified to show support for i545 but this should be compatible with any phone already using Odin. Maybe referred jokingly as gogOdin

Do you guys have a change log?

The release notes are most likely inside the DRM encrypted "Odin Downloader Release Notes.xlsx" =/

I also found out that both 3.10.5 and 3.10.6 have the same file properties of:

file version: 2014.11.17.1
product version: 3.10.5

but differ in file(size/integrity)! This makes me wonder why the OP decided to leave it as-is (unless he didn't found out yet)

When looking with a Hex editor i noticed a lot of padding data on the end but removing that resulted in not being able to run the application.

From a quick look with the eye i don't expect the file to be encrypted/compressed, though further inspection may show otherwise (haven't used a file integrity checker yet).

Yes. I am aware of product version being same as the previous version. Reason is simple, the employee who compiled the latest Odin is lazy, too lazy to change the version number or too busy coding/debugging importance stuff while leaving cosmetics like version number.

I could have easily changed it to right version number but i decided to leave it as-is, because it makes it "unofficial" if i had done it.

Anyway if you really interesting in analyzing files, i suggest you to learn reverse engineering, that way you can truly see whether its a virus or not. lol
Depending on version number, file size or PADDING data is simply wrong.

@all, specially @born4trance

Files are straight from samsung partner. Nothing is modified.

Luckely i know that, its just that you sometimes notice things quicker when doing some basic analyzing before "going deep" ;)

Does anybody know what the hell is going on with Versions of Odin ?
i heard of version 3.10.6 today so i went to download it only to find that the main image at the top is different when downloaded from different locations so there are people editing them, this made me go and look at my previous versions and i found the same with them too! take a look at the screenshots below that will better explain what i mean...
Untitled.png

Untitled.png

As you can clearly see each image on each .exe is different and even when you have the same version there are different copies!
So does anyone know wich versions are the ORIGINAL GENUINE ones ? and is there a original source to download from ?

I have a question. Yesterday I downloaded Odin 3.10 from http://odindownload.com/ and it installed on my computer a nasty software that wanted, without my consensus, to scan performances of my computer and other things. Even to uninstall it I had a lot of troubles.
Is that a fake website with a fake Odin?
