Chasing Vivi is a Second Chance, Enemies To Lovers, Stand Alone, Contemporary Romance

Vivi Renard—a blast from the past—wasn’t supposed to affect me like this.

When I knew her ten years ago she was nothing more to me than a highly functioning brain.
Hell, I paid her to do my homework.

Only now … she’s drop dead gorgeous but had the nerve to turn me down for a date … several times.
No one turns me—Prescott Beckham—down for anything.
I’m on a mission and won’t stop until I’m firmly planted between her thighs, hearing her moan my name.

Her plump red lips have me dreaming filthy things and acting like a kid with his first crush.
If I can’t have her, I don’t want anyone else to either.
What’s worse is I want to own every single bit of her.

Except there’s a slight problem.
Vivi can’t stand me.
Even the old let’s be friends again thing failed.
She tossed it back saying we were never friends to begin with.

But I’m the king at playing ruthless games.
So she’d better be ready to drop her thong, because Vivi is going to end up in my bed sooner … or later.
And I’m pretty damn sure it’s going to be sooner.

DNF @ 11%

The heroine's wah-wah "they were mean to me in high school" woes are stale...and the "bangs all the bitches and brags about it" Richie Rich H with BS daddy issues is just not gonna do it for me.

Gonna quit while I'm ahead.
So much other shit to read, so onward.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Chasing Vivi (stand-alone). A blast from the past, Prescott will jump through hoops to make amends with Vivi!

“It didn’t take long for me to rip off her shirt, get her completely naked, and have her sit on my face for a little ride. She loved it. That’s how she ended up on the dining room table, tied up, and blindfolded.”

Chasing Vivi (stand-alone) opens up ten years after the high school years of Prescott Whitworth Beckham, Scotty paying Vivienne Renard, Vivi to do his homework. For most part, their lives have continued on track. Prescott is soon set to take over the family empire while Vivi’s brain earned her a degree from MIT.

That and, Vivi grew into a swan…

When their paths cross in New York Vivi is trying to re-establish her career and Prescott has found his next plaything… only to discover Vivi isn’t looking for any entanglements. But while Prescott teases, flirts, goads, seduces even chases Vivi trying to become her everything, he is keeping parts of himself from the world.

Seven words to describe Prescott Whitworth Beckham, Scotty: Relentless, patient, reflective, protective, immature, broken and secretive.

Seven words to describe Vivienne Renard, Vivi: Lonely, determined, stubborn, emotional. Indecisive, smart and selfless.

Chasing Vivi, told from dual POVs, is a feel-good romance with a little bit of everything; angst, secrets, danger, betrayal, romance and smut. It ends on a high with flowers... and sweet revenge.

Damsel in distress, poor girl. She was bullied at school and the male protagonist did nothing, coz he had his daddy issues and was occupied by f*cking other girls.

Prince Charming, mother*cker!!!

Of course he f*cked hundreds / thousands of OWs,
but he paid attention to how many men the heroine was with. Only 2.
He liked this idea. Because we all know it’s totally fine, when a man f*cked the half of earth population and the woman remained pure... *eye roll*

I call it sexism and double standards.
They call it apparently romance.

I stopped after following lines.

The hostess does everything but dry hump me as she seats me. Usually I’m interested in this sort of thing, and maybe would even give her my number, but not tonight. She can’t hold a candle to Vivi. Her lips aren’t as full, her eyes aren’t as gray, and her lashes aren’t nearly as long and lush. I’d also bet her pussy has been used and abused by a lot more than two men, and the thought of breaking that tight little thing in is worth the damn wait.

I wish all women incl. the h, who like and accept such men, happy life and all the best!!!

Being a billionaire, and growing up that way too, Prescott gets what he wants, when he wants it, and how he wants it. He is obviously a sought after bachelor every woman wants. He’s sexy as heck, has all the money in the world, woman falling at this feet, but not the one he wants. He has family issues that bring him down. He runs a multi billion dollar franchise with his Grandfather yet, he still can't find anything to be happy about. Until.....

He runs into an old prep school classmate from 10 years prior. Barely recognizes her, barely remembers too much about her except that he paid her to do all his homework, but when he stares into Vivienne Renard's eyes, something changes in him. He sees absolute beauty, innocent beauty, and knows he has to have it. What he doesn't know is it's going to be a VERY long chase.

I liked this story, just got to be a little far fetched all the chasing he had to do. I get Vivi's reluctance yet there was a lot I would have just walked away from on each other's parts. Prescott could be a total asshat and Vivi could be the total get your head in the ballpark kind. Anyways, I did enjoy it, I loved the ending, I am looking forward to reading Harrison's story.

Chasing Vivi by A.M. Hargrove has me totally smitten with her characters, Vivi and Prescott. This book was just what I needed to destress and relax. It had a culmination of every elements that I look forward to reading in a sweet and sexy frenemy love story. It had sass, personality, and charm to make any readers devour this book in one sitting. So if you are looking for a romance that was layered with raw emotions, depth, healing, and second chances then this book is for you. A.M. Hargrove will not disappoint you as she will entranced you with her beautiful and heartfelt writing.

“I wonder if he’s still in touch with Felicia Cunningham, a.k.a. Felatio Cuntingham. That girl had more dicks crammed down her throat than even I care to imagine”

Fortunately, I only suffered through 30 pages before deciding this would be an utter waste of time.

I am a huge fan of A.M. Hargrove and Chasing Vivi has to be my favorite solo and standalone by her to date. I was immediately on that gorgeous and uber delicious cover and the intriguing blurb. I was completely captivated from the first word to the very last and was left wanting more. I never wanted this book to end!

Prescott Whitworth Beckham's life changed the moment he walked into that coffee shop and set eyes on Vivienne Renard for the first time in years. She was the smart girl who did his homework in exchange for cash at Crestview. They weren't really friends back then and he didn't really notice her, but Vivi isn't that shy awkward overweight girl anymore. In front of Prescott stands a gorgeous, self confident woman and he'll do anything to have her and ultimately own her. Vivi rejects his every move and refuses to get involved with the sexy, popular guy she had a crush on all those years ago. What starts as a mission to get her in his bed and own every inch of her turns into wanting to own Vivi's heart and earn her trust at all costs. But how can he do that when he is still stuck in his past and harboring secrets that may ultimately shatter the fragile bond they've grown to have?!

Vivi is a strong and confident heroine; a fighter who doesn't let anything drag her down. Her life hasn't been the easiest but instead of giving up and curling into a ball of depression, she kept on going. I admired her strength and courage with all my heart. She was a wonderful heroine - kind, hard working, strong, and caring. She was different from any of the other girls Prescott had been with; she wasn't after his money and instead was with him for the man that he was.

There is so much more than meets the eye with Prescott. He was a really complex hero. After tragic events in his past, he was decided to guard his heart at all costs and resorted to a life of bachelorhood until he reconnects with Vivi. On the outside, he is an arrogant, successful alpha male. But on the inside, he is vulnerable and deeply scarred from the events of his past. I absolutely adored him and enjoying seeing both his alpha male and sweet and vulnerable sides.

These two had off the charts chemistry between the two from the very start, even when Vivi was running from it. I was cheering hard for these two to get their acts together and get together and when they finally do, your kindle will combust in flames.

A.M. Hargrove has once again proven her brilliant talent of writing emotionally, angsty, sexy stories with enchanting characters. I loved this book and can't recommend it enough.

Riesce a conciliare romanticismo e passione nuda e cruda in pochissime righe.

1.5 stars...How I'd sum this up...it just kept getting worse!! Ugghhh

So we have Vivi...an MIT grad who was out of the workforce for two years to care for her dying mother. Because of this, she can't get a job or even an interview....ummm, its MI-fucking-T. Not. Believable. She lives in a slum on an air mattress with mountains of debt, but just HAS to be in NYC. But she must be something spectacular because Prescott is relentlessly pursuing her...but Ms. Super Intelligent and Mature calls herself things like "gooberhead" and "whiny dweeb". Good lord, no.

Then Prescott...wow. I have to say I am so sick of reading about manwhores and being beaten over the head with it. Example...as they are having sex for the first time he says everyone has a special skill and his is "eating pussy". Oh be-still my heart! I LOVE hearing about his sex life with other women. He also gets tested once a month (which he mentions after unprotected sex with Vivi...how many women do you screw a month to need that much testing? And my favourite - the way he talks about Vivi during sex is awful...he "owns that pussy", claims "your mine", tells her all the things he's going to introduce her to and tells her she'll like it. Random idea here, but how about you have two-way communication so she tells YOU what she likes!

On top of all this, there are so many unrealistic situations that I just barely could get through. A group of 4 women attacked her at a Xmas party demanding to know why Prescott liked her and not them? How old are these people?? What am I reading? What in the ever-loving fuck??

Even the sex scenes were boring and uninteresting to me (first one at 73%). He's basically a robot that can last for hours and give more orgasms than she can count, then be raring to go again immediately.

So much potential in this story was wasted. 1.5 stars because the writing wasn't terrible, just the plot and characters lol

Chasing Vivi is a second chance, frenemies to lovers to romance.

Vivi and Prescott went to Crestview together where they really weren't friends but they also didn't hate one another - they knew of each other. One thing neither expected was to run into the other in their later years of life.

Vivienne Renard was known to all as the smart, fat girl at their private school. She dealt with constant bullying and hated every day of attending school. But she did it for her mom - she never complained because of how much her mom worked to keep Vivi there.

Prescott Beckham was the rich, hot boy in their private school. Girls flocked to him and he never really have to lift a finger to get anything done. The most he had to do was pay Vivi to do his homework so he wouldn't flunk out.

Years later, Prescott runs into Vivi at her work, where he is floored by what he sees. Vivi looks and acts nothing like herself from their high school days. She is confident, beautiful and tells Prescott to pretty much fuck off. And that doesn't do anything but light the fire under Prescott's because well, he's never been told no.

I really enjoyed this story - the ugly ducking turning into a beautiful swan. But it's not just about that. Vivi never once uses her new found beauty as a tool to use in her favor. It's her head-strong demeanor that keeps Prescott's attention more than anything. She challenges him in ways he's never expected. Vivi makes Prescott want to be a better person; however he himself has some obstacles to overcome.

Vivi and Prescott both have their own issues to work through. I love watching them both grow and have these epiphanies of how immature and dumb they are acting at times. It really makes the book relatable and the characters more realistic. I will say that this story is a slow burn, but it doesn't deter or make you want to stop. You enjoy the progression of watching these two grow and fall in love, slowly, like it should be.

A.M. has always been able to make her stories come to life and that is why I enjoy her books so much. So if you have never read anything by her, this is definitely a book you should read and see what I mean.

I did not feel the love between these two characters. SPOILERS

I didn't tear up reading about her being bullied as a teen. It didn't make me "feel" anything while reading about her mother. I felt nothing when he confessed about his mother's passing or the deal with Jeff (dad). They knew each other in high school but didn't have a close connection, after running into her twice he become a wannabe alpha who wants to take over her life. I did appreciate that the h didn't cry and pine after the H. I didn't think she was a doormat. I really wish authors would quit with the eye color thing, H's eyes were describe as gold, h's were grey. Last time I checked there were only five eye colors. Yes eyes can have tints of other colors when described in detail but come one people, do that, describe them, make me feel like I'm looking into to them and see all of the colors.

My main issue with this book is it did not give me the feels at all. When they finally become a couple and become intimate their sex was hot but not loving. I don't recall them ever making love, just fucking. Maybe I'm just a menopausal bitch but this book, which is well written, did not do it for me.

~ 5 Little Wolf Stars ~

Another GREAT book from AM Hargrove. She never fails to impress me with her stories an characters. I get caught up in her books everytime I pick one up.

Chasing Vivi is one I have been waiting to read, ever since I met Prescott in A Special Obsession. I knew he story as going to be a good one and I wasn’t disappointed. This book had everything I look for in a 5 star read. She gave us an intriguing storyline, interesting characters, humor, great dialogue, drama (but nothing over the top) a little bit of heartache, and some extremely steamy sex ;) My emotions and heart were all over the place while reading this book. The author does touch on some serious topics, I thought Ms. Hargrove handle these topics with a lot of grace and dignity.

I loved the flow and pace of this story. This book is an enemies to lovers style story. Prescott and Vivi actually know each other from back in High School, when they both went to Crestview. To say their road to happiness was an easy one is an understatement. Both Prescott and Vivi have some serious issues steaming from things in their past. So it was fun watching these two learn to open themselves up and learn to trust one another. I thought the author took these two characters on the perfect journey. She should that what started out as instant lust can turn into something really beautiful. You just have to learn to trust others. Like I said earlier, this book isn’t full of a lot of drama, but what was in this story will have you turning the pages fast!!!! This book has quite a bit of angst in it so if you are fan of that, you will love this story.

Chasing Vivi is a standalone companion novel to A Special Obsession. It is told in Dual POV. It is a complete standalone and NO you don’t have to read A Special Obsession first. I would only suggest it to get to know Prescott a little better. You meet him in that book, we also see some other characters from the other book, but nothing that will really spoil Weston and Special’s story if read out of order. I loved that we got to see more of Harrison in this story and that she kind of sets up the next book in this book.

As I have will all of A.M. Hargrove’s books, I would definitely recommend this book. If you are looking for that enemies to lovers romance with a little bit of drama and a lot of angst added in, then this is the book to read. Another GREAT read by Ms. Hargrove!!!!

description

FINALLY!! Finally a story where the woman didn't throw herself at the rich guy as soon as he pulled the black Amex out of his wallet. (Not that I remember that this happened here but you get what I’m saying.)

I loved how strong, stubborn and independent Vivi was despite her situation. She needed the money really bad but she rather earned it herself than take the offer of easy money. A woman with a strong backbone made for a welcome change in our instant-panty-dropping book world.

This was a slow burn but realistic read. So don't expect the characters to be baby-making in the first chapter. This was one of the main reasons why I loved this book so much. It could have easily been a real-life story and the heroine didn't give in that quickly to the hot guy as it often is the case. The characters had loveable personalities which made them almost too good to be true.

The author never disappoints with her books and she's a go-to author for me. I am really glad that I discovered her and I'm so excited for her next books.

The Story:
Vivi's life is currently on a real low. Her job pays poorly, her apartment is rather a closet in a neighborhood you don't want to hang around at night and her boss is a massive asshole. When Prescott Backham suddenly stands in front of her, all her memories from school and the horrible thing the kids did to her, come rushing back. Prescott may have not made fun of her like the others did but he only noticed and needed her for his homework.

‘Standing before me is Prescott Backham – the boy of my teenage fantasies.’
‘Now, here he is in the flesh, all six plus feet of tall, dark, and insanely sexy. And it pisses me off that someone can look so damn edible.’

Can you blame her for not wanting to go out with him even though every other woman would throw themselves at him without having to ask? The thing is, Prescott isn't used to be rejected and as soon as he set eyes on Vivi, he knew he wanted her and he would do everything to get what he wants.
‘Game on. She’s just made it my mission to change her mind. It’s what I’m good at – getting woman to do what I want.’

But since when was he chasing after a woman? It's usually the other way around and he never had to persuade a woman to be with him. What’s changed? Vivi is so different to all the others and that's exactly what makes her more attractive and him more intrigued by her.

Vivi's determined to keep her distance from all of her past and that includes Prescott Backham. But Prescott doesn't give up that easily. The question now is: who will have the greater staying power??

Thoughts:
I loved how protective Prescott was of Vivi and that despite her quick judge on him they had such a great chemistry. It was a slow burn but building up throughout the story and therefore got better and better further into the book.
‘I knew what kind of life to live before I walked into that coffee shop and saw her sitting there. I would’ve kept living it, unencumbered. But fate had different plans for me, it seems. And now it makes me wonder what the hell it has in store for me next.’

I loved how she stayed strong and didn’t instantly give in to this good-looking rich guy that never payed attention to her in school besides her doing his homework.
Both had strong and stubborn personalities which made their interactions so much more enjoyable.

It was a great story about two characters both with tough background stories and family troubles and I liked how the characters problems were woven into the story and how they’ve made them stronger without their troubles becoming all-consuming in the book.
I wasn't as emotionally involved as I was with other books from this author but I loved the book a lot nonetheless. It had a good pace and definitely hooked me to the pages. Absolutely recommended!
“You’re like a song. When I first saw you, I heard a few lines, but then each time, more notes were added until now I have complex melody. And it gets better every day.”

Side note/Nuisance:
I detest people that wear or like fur because I don’t even have a strong enough word for how much I loathe the killing and torturing of animals. I equally hate to read about glamorizing anything that relates to it so I was disgusted when it appeared in this book. I thought about how it would affect my rating but I couldn't let it because the book is awesome and I love this author's work. Ultimately I wasn't able to let the fur 'incident' have an impact on my rating but I’d have preferred that it wasn’t in the book.

In typical style for this amazing author, she's once again provided an entertaining romance with plenty of sexy scenes and angsty tension. Chasing Vivi has a slow burn feel that will reel you in from page one.

Prescott and Vivi went to the same high school but walked on completely different paths. Prescott has everything easily handed to him with an air of entitlement... at least that's how it seems. Vivi has suffered significant lost and struggles to keep her head above water. When their opposite world collide again, these two are in for one hell of an adventure.

Vivi's snarky attitude warmed me up to her immediately. I love strong heroines that don't get swallowed up by their counterpart. She gives as good as she gets and the sassy fun never quits. Vivi isn't letting Prescott get off easy, in any respect. His persistence and devotion to her is very admirable. He's a man used to getting what he wants and Vivi is all he can think of lately.

Getting lost is this lovely story was fantastic. Each scene built seamlessly onto the last and the transitions were silly-smooth. These characters have a ton of captivating dialogue and banter, plus the heat between the sheets. Bravo to Ms. Hargrove on another amazing romance hit!

I was immediately sold on the sexy cover and intriguing blurb of Chasing Vivi. I'm a sucker for second chance love stories but also enemies to lovers which are two of my favorite tropes. This book was a mix of both and a very entertaining read. Who wouldn't love a gorgeous, rich Alpha man with daddy issues chasing after the ugly duckling turned beautiful swan who has been knocked down by life too many times to count and who happens to be his former overweight, shy schoolmate?

Prescott Whitworth Backham's life changed forever the moment he entered Java Beans & More and saw Vivienne Renard for the first time in years. She was the smart girl who wrote his schoolwork for cash at Crestview. They weren't really friends back then and he didn't notice her. But Vivi isn't an awkward, inconspicuous girl any longer - in front of Prescott is an elegant, self-confident woman. He offers her to go out with him but Vivienne firmly rejects him. She can't get involved with the once popular boy she had a crush on. Prescott is not used to people saying no to him so he decides to pursue her relentlessly. But what starts as a mission to get her in his bed and have his way with her will turn into wanting to win Vivi's heart and trust at any cost. But how can Prescott do that if he harbours secrets he is too afraid to share with her and which could potentially destroy the fragile bond they have recently created?

Vivi is a remarkable, strong heroine - she is a fighter who didn't let anything drag her down. She didn't have it easy in life but instead of breaking down and giving up she kept on going. I admired her with all my heart. She was a wonderful person - honest, kind, hard-working and caring. Vivi wasn't after Prescott's wealth like the dumb, cheap floozies he was used to.

Prescott is a very complex hero. There is so much more to this man than meets the eye. After a tragic event in his past and the aftermath of it he has decided to guard his heart. From the outside he is this arrogant, successful Mr. Moneybags. But inside he is vulnerable and unsettled. I adored him and enjoyed seeing the big change in him while falling for Vivienne.

These two had great chemistry from the very beginning and I was cheering hard for them to happen. And when they finally come together your kindle is going to burst into flames - that's a fair warning!

With Chasing Vivi A.M. Hargrove has once again proven her incredible talent for writing great stories with enchanting characters. I loved this book and highly recommend it. 4.5 stars for this treat!

OMG!!! I absolutely loved this book. And this is not only because of the sexy as hell and uber delicious cover. The thing is: there is something so special about A.M. Hargrove and her writing. It just sucks you in and doesn't let you go. I love to lose myself in her stories and her characters. They are my happy place.

Chasing Vivi was a sweet, super funny and sexy enemies to lovers story. I'm a sucker for such books! It makes me giddy to see the banter between the hero and heroine and how they and their relationship change throughout the story.

Vivienne Renard used to be the fat smart girl at her school who was constantly bullied. She hated everything about that place except him: Prescott Beckham, the cute rich boy who gave her money to do his homework but never really payed her more attention than that.

After ten years Prescott is knocked on his ass by a blast from his past: Vivi. His former classmate has turned into a drop dead gorgeous woman with a degree from MIT. Unfortunately for him, she is not interested in Prescott and his money at all, turning him down several times for a date. Being a cocky and self-confident asshole, he makes it his mission to seduce her and get her into his bed. Too bad his charm is not working on her at all because Vivi hates his guts and refuses to give him a chance.

Vivi will soon realize that getting rid of Prescott is going to be harder than she could have ever imagined, because this smooth and sexy talker is persistent as hell and there is so much more to him than meets the eye...

I loved super smart and sweet Vivi. She was a fighter and a very compassionate human being! She had some issues because of her past which still seemed to bother her. Compared to Prescott she was totally unexperienced. But that only made him more hot for her!

Prescott was a cocky bastard who's ego was as big as his bank account! He knew that he was an adonis and acted like that too. But please don't judge him too fast. Because behind that shiny exterior hides a young man with some serious issues from his childhood that changed him forever. The more Vivi descovers about the sweet and caring side of him, the more she is defenseless against falling in love with her enemy.

Get this amazing book and read it! I promise you great entertainment, super funny laugh out moments and some sexy times that will make your kindle glow! Great job A.M. Hargrove.

4 Little Wolf Stars

Vivienne "Vivi" Renard has had a tough life. When things were looking up, she was dealt another blow in the loss of her mother and only family she had left. The career she's worked so hard for is gone and now she's living in New York City, working for a sketchy character who owns a chain of coffee shops. That's where she is when she looks up to find her schoolgirl crush, Prescott "Scotty" Whitworth Beckham.

While attending Crestview Academy as children, Prescott and his friends Weston and Harrison were big men on campus. All the girls wanted them... Vivi was no different, but she was the ugly fat girl who's family had lost their status after her fathers' death. She was bullied and Prescott, noticing she didn't have much by way of money, paid her to do his homework.

Now... years later, Vivi is no longer that ugly fat girls. She's grown into the equivalent of a beautiful swan and Prescott wants her. But she's seems immune to his charms, which only intrigues him more. Determined to find out what happened to bring Vivi to the place she is now, he delves more, showing up where she is and infiltrating her life.

Vivi does a great job of keeping Prescott at arms length. That is until Vivi is hurt and Prescott comes to her rescue, helping her heal emotionally and physically. But can she trust him, and can he figure out what it is about her that makes him want to tell her all of his secrets and let her know who he really is?

I really enjoyed this book. I understood Vivi on a lot of levels. Being the odd man out in school, having a career stall and trying to pick things back up. I understood her walls as well as Prescott's, along with his family disfunction. I was emotionally invested in both of these characters for very different reasons.

Now that I've read this book, I'm desperate to go back and read A Special Obsession, Weston and Special's story.

Very enjoyable read. There were funny moments and sad moments. definitely recommend.

Chasing Vivi by A.M. Hargrove is a second chance at love story for enemies to lovers Vivi and Prescott. They went to high school together to a private, expensive school where each had very different experiences. Years later, Prescott runs into Vivi and decides he had to have her. Easy, right?

Nothing is ever easy. Vivi Renard hated her teenage years. High school for her meant getting bullied at every turn. Her only highlight was her crush on Prescott Beckham, but all he ever saw was the girl he paid to help him with his homework. She dreamed of the day he would really see her, but he never did.

I loved Vivi. She had a very difficult time during high school that left a huge impact on her life, but instead of letting it get her down, she worked hard to overcome obstacles to become the woman she is today. She is stronger and more determined and fights for what she wants. But when Prescott enters her life again, she wants nothing to do with him. He is trouble with a capital T.

Prescott had it easy during high school. Popular and girls wanting him at every turn, he and his friends lived it up. The girl who helped him with his homework was just another girl at his school. Years later he runs into her again and she rocks his world. She is beautiful and he decides he must have her, but she wants nothing to do with him. But he was determined to win her over at any cost. Though he could be very demanding and pushy, he could also be sweet and romantic.

Both Prescott and Vivi had past baggage they carried around that held them back from truly opening up with each other. Though they were both attracted to each other, neither was ready to fully give in. They had a push and pull relationship throughout the story. Would they be able to find a way to truly open up to each other or would they only fall further apart?

Chasing Vivi was a slow burn story of second chances and learning to trust again. It was both angsty and sweet and full of secondary drama that will draw you in.

Happy reading!

This was a much dirtier book that than its prequel. And the putative hero, Prescott, was pretty much a promiscuous pig.

Prescott is a very dirty, sex-obsessed, shag anything-with-a-pulse, foul-mouthed borderline stoner/alcoholic. Whew! He is also, and this is somewhat laughable, a successful businessman. He is certainly much more independent than his friend, Weston, the hero from the previous book. But he is another with a very problematic relationship with his parents. Prescott is really the clichéd dude who uses sex, drugs and alcohol to avoid any introspection. God forbid that any self-awareness might creep in to that numbed emotional intelligence. Lots of daddy issues in these books.

Again, Prescott seems to be quite immature compared with the heroine. Vivi puts up quite a fight when he starts chasing her, and I did not blame her. (Prescott knew her in high school as the plump chick who he paid to do his homework, all the while he screwed around. Now Vivi has metamorphosed into the proverbial swan and Prescott wants her.) Vivi was a nice girl. She deserved much better than the soiled screw-up that Prescott was. But in the usual romantic cliché, the good woman swoops in to save his sorry arse.

I enjoyed all that he did to try and win her over and the sex scenes were plentiful and pretty filthy/erotic. Smut level high, but then what do you expect from a raging, sex-addicted man-whore?
(Warning: backdoor action in this one.)

Chasing Vivi was a really good read this would be my first book by AM Hargrove and it wont be my last . Adored Vivi she is a interesting heroine but at times she did bother me with how quick to judge the hero but that was my only problem after everything she has been through shes very strong , beautiful , funny , smart and sweet . Prescott shows alot of growth through out the book with the help of his trusty secretary , grandparents , and of course Vivi I liked how protective he was of the heroine and he became very swoon worthy . The intimate scenes are smoking hot they share a intense kind of chemistry , Prescott and Vivi also share some pain full memories from their youth that they both were unaware of and when they find out lets just say they had a better understanding of one another . Loved the epilogue ,side characters, and the story line this talks about something that isn't brought to attention and I found that truly remarkable .

I am completely SMITTEN with Prescott and Vivi. Chasing Vivi was everything I've come to expect and love from A.M. Hargrove.

Vivian “Vivi” Renard’s has had a tough life. Nothing has come easy for her, from being bullied in school to her new life in New York. But she's INDEPENDENT. She will not rely on anyone! I LOVED her spunkiness. She is totally BADASS!!! I love her don't take no crap attitude.
She's working in IT for a coffee shop, where a blast from her last re-enters her life. Prescott Beckham! And once he sees Vivi, it's a no holds barred to make her his!

They both Crestview Academy, Prescott (swoon) was the popular jock, scoring with all the girls.OMG! Let me tell you, I LOVED his dirty mouth!! HOLY PANTIES ON FIRE!!!! Back in high school he ends up hiring Vivi to help him with his homework. While Vivi thinks Prescott has had the perfect life,
We soon find out not everything is as it seems with Prescott. He's had a rough life, he keeps hidden from most. Can he let Vivi in?

Chasing Vivi is a SCORCHING HOT read, however I found myself having so many laugh out loud moments. The banter between Prescott and Vivi is HILARIOUS! A. M. Hargrove never fails to disappoint with her writings. The storyline, the characters, the chemistry, this book has it all. What a FABULOUS Summer read. Definitely a must read.

4.5 stars!

I picked a great story to my first A.M. Hargrove read. It has a lot of elements that I love, like enemies to lovers and second chance-ish feels. But what I loved most were the characters. Vivi is always likable and lovable. She's scrappy and independent. She's had a lot happen to her, but she's always worked hard and made the best of it. Prescott is wealthy. He has everything he's ever wanted, until he meets Vivi. All she sees is his alpha personality and how he was when they were in high school. Turns out there is a lot more to him than that. Prescott came across as arrogant at times, but as the book went on, he changed and I loved seeing that.

Chasing Vivi is a fast paced story, but the relationship between Vivi and Prescott develops slowly. In fact, I am really impressed with how physical desires by both were set aside and the emotional aspect of the relationship was given preference. And once they finally consummated the attraction between them, it was hotter than it would be otherwise. I do wish the transition from them getting naked to having sex had been a little better, but that's just a minor detail.

Another thing about this book that was fantastic was it's unpredictability. The story was full of twists that were and weren't foreshadowed, and all were totally relevant to the Vivi, Prescott, and their lives. So color me impressed and if you haven't read A.M. Hargrove, I'd start with this book.
