RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Senior
Isa Echeverri scored her 15th-career goal and her first of the season but it was not enough as the Toledo women's soccer team fell, 2-1, to UC Riverside on Friday night at the URC Soccer Stadium.
The Rockets' (1-2-1) lone goal came in the 66th minute when sophomore
Kelsey Kraft found Echeverri, who beat the goalkeeper from 20 yards out. Echeverri led the Rockets with four shots, while senior
Chiara Paradiso took two shots as the only other player to fire multiple attempts.

Madison Perrin played her fourth-consecutive match of 90 minutes or more and recorded five saves in goal for the Rockets.
UC Riverside (2-2-1) opened the scoring in the 38th minute with a goal from Amanda Apelian. Apelian found the upper right-hand corner of the net from the middle of the box to give the Highlanders a 1-0 advantage.
Less than two minutes later, UCR was on the attack again and capitalized with a strike from Alexis Vera. Vera went top shelf to beat Perrin and give the Highlanders a 2-0 lead.Â
The Rockets trailed 2-0 at the half but cut into the lead just over 20 minutes into the second frame. An assertive attack late in the second half resulted in four shots in the waning moments of regulation, one of which was on target.Â
Toledo and UC Riverside took the same amount of shots, 10, and UT took five more corner kick opportunities, 6-1, during the match.
The women's soccer team closes its west coast trip with a contest against UC Irvine on Sunday, Sept. 3 at 4:00 p.m. PT at Anteater Stadium.
