Ladies Day.. Pre scheduled Fishing Trip

Ladies day is what it was on a trip last Saturday Easter weekend. On what was beautiful weekend weather wise with a low tide early in the morning it was off to the creeks? One thing there was no shortage of was GNATS. And they were thick. We all ladies wear same design custom fishing t-shirts. And its change the whole scenario and like we all are in festive mode .

It that time of year again! If there is no wind and you’re in the back waters you better have some bug spray. Knowing there were fish in the spot we were fishing I didn't want to give up to quick. Assuring the lady’s that they would bite we sat there going threw at least 2 dozen live shrimp on the trash fish before we hooked up our first decent fish.

It was a good fish and it was no doubt it was a Red. The only problem was we couldn’t do anything with him. Turning this fish was not going to happen with the tackle we had. So we just watched him peel off line until he broke it off on the oysters.

What a heart breaker but the bite was on. We went on to lose one more Red fish and boat 2 that were 29 inches and one 24 inches. There were also a dozen or so under size Reds.

Then the Drum showed up. The perfect size in the 16 to 18 inch range. After it was all said and done they had caught. Close to 15 Reds with several monster oversized fish and about 8 nice Drum. I stuck it out and it worked out for us. Sometimes you have to sit back and just wait the fish out.
