Duckgirl hitches up with a Hydradig

Top “rubber duck” operator Aimee Pooley aka Duckgirl recently returned to the UK having spent the winter season plying her skills in Sweden the spiritual home of the tilt-rotator. The Digger Man Blog caught up with her to find out what she is doing now.

Having returned to more local turf Aimee initially took advantage of some much needed downtime as she got herself back in the routine of day to day life back home, this was followed by a few odd days back on the levers for old clients. However Aimee, who has a large following on her You Tube channel Duckgirl 86, has recently been head hunted for her services to operate one of Bedfordshire based ECL Civil Engineering’s new JCB Hydradig machines which have been fitted with Engcon tilt-rotators. Aimee has been on site just over a week now and is already putting her all too familiar stamp on the machine and the site, with her highly refined wheeled excavator skills and thinking outside the box approach to the job. No doubt as time passes she will be keen to put her progressive ideas to the forward thinking management team at ECL who I myself have had the pleasure of meeting in the past. Check out Aimee’s latest video as she displays the versatility and manoeuvrability of the Hydradig and indeed the small compact wheeled excavator concept, especially when equipped with a "tilty" and an arsenal of work tools on a UK site, using Scandinavian inspired techniques and skills.
Having followed Aimee's journey from the early days, its always a pleasure to catch up with her and to find out what new challenges she is facing. I look forward to bringing more coverage of her both here on the Digger Man Blog and within the pages of Earthmovers Magazine in the future.
