These students deserve an A+ — for bravery.

For some school children in Indonesia, getting to school every day can seem like something straight out of a theme park.

A video posted on Reuters.com shows children shimmying across a bridge that was damaged by flooding last week.

The bridge shown is completely on its side and is missing parts in places. To get to school and avoid what would otherwise be a long detour, students cling onto ropes and step carefully across the bridge, which swings over the Ciberang River.

“Yes, I am afraid,” one 9-year-old student told Reuters, adding that he took the bridge because he didn’t want to miss school.

Residents told Reuters they’re hoping the government will step up and fix the bridge, which was first built in 2004.

“We hope the government will take immediate action on this matter as this bridge is used for daily activities, especially by school children, as Ciwaru village is far and this bridge is closest connection,” one resident said.
