⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2! Racer (stand-alone). Life, love & racing in a fast paced bad boy street racer meets good girl daughter of his new boss romance!

Racer (stand-alone) is the fast-paced world-wind romance between bad boy street car racer turned Formula One race car driver Racer Tate and the daughter of his new boss, Lana Heyworth, Lanie.
Story opens to Lana’s life falling apart; her father is sick and his race team is going under. When her world collides with Racer’s, literally, she has no idea of the journey they are about to embark on.
Follow them, with Racer in the driver seat, as they tour the world chasing dreams, winning races, coping with painful pasts while falling into an addicting secret affair.
Nine words to describe Racer Tate: Cocky, charming, opinionated, loyal, chivalrous, complex, private, focused and reckless.
Seven words to describe Lana Heyworth, Lanie: Determined, loyal, independent, strong, nurturing, organized, broken and resilient.
Racer, told from dual POVs, is a fast-paced, forbidden and sexy romance between two young souls who long ago, despite their age, gave up on love. It ends on a high providing glimpses of other couples in the series. Considering their ages, I’d welcome an extended epilogue further into their future.

Sadly, this book was just okay. The thing is, I'm disappointed with the F1 aspect of the story. The whole thing was kind of ridiculous.
Firstly, I don't understand why the heroine can't buy herself a hot dog or a first class plane ticket. Her family owns an F1 team and several F1 cars, for god's sake! Cars worth MILLIONS of dollars. And yes, I'm perfectly aware they're almost broke. But a hot dog?
Secondly, their F1 team consists of her three brothers and her father.
Have you ever watched an F1 race? I have, about a hundred times. I’m a huge F1 fan. I’ve been to F1 races. I’ve visited pit stops and garages before the race. I’ve seen dozens of crew members inside and outside the garages.
And believe me, you can be the best racer in the world but you won't be able to come even close to the podium if you don’t have the BEST car and the BEST team. And they are planning to buy better tires ?
Not to mention that a rookie just goes into an F1 car for the first time on his second day there and immediately knows everything: how to drive an F1 car, how to handle all of the commands, how to communicate with the team. And he places third. *snort*
I won’t go into all the details that bothered me. There would be too many of them.
Since this is a romance novel and not nonfiction, I’m turning a blind eye. (However, all those issues did diminish my enjoyment of the book. The details and the background information usually add to the credibility of the story.)
Some parts of the story felt rushed and superficial. They simply weren’t detailed enough. The story lacked background depth. For instance, the conversation between Racer and his family when he tells them he’s going to drive F1: They exchange only a few sentences.
The conversation when the heroine first introduces Racer to her family: They exchange a few sentences. Dad (an F1 team owner) spends more time chatting with his daughter than with the new driver.
All of the secondary characters were two-dimensional cardboard statues with voices.
Overall, it was an okay story, but not nearly good as the first three book in the series.

I didn’t think I would ever find something like this ever again, much less that it could surpass it. I feel my heart almost burst open as I lie in bed cuddled up to this man who holds me to his chest now protecting me with his body against anything and everything. He lays over me as my shield.
RACER is the seventh installment of the ”REAL” series which focuses on Remy and Brooke’s son, Racer Tate. It seems that the apple has not fallen too far from the tree when it comes to Racer, except that instead of following in his dad’s footsteps and becoming an MMA fighter, he is one of the hottest and best illegal street racers in the country. But he is very much haunted by the same demons as his father and he is of a singular mindset once that special woman catches his eye.
Racer meets Alana Heyworth during a minor fender bender while fighting for a parking spot. The moment they meet there is this underlying but intense spark that neither of them expected or can deny, but Lana is in the states for a very important reason and she’s not about to let a possible romantic entanglement mess with her family’s future. Lana co-owns HW RACING, a Formula One team, along with her father and three brothers. When their mother left them and they found out their father was dying from cancer, the Heyworth’s all decided to sell everything they owned and put it all into their father’s dream of owning a Formula One racing team. HW Racing recently lost their star driver and Lana has made it her mission to find the absolute best driver to replace him.
Racer and Lana meet up a couple of times and although there is some intense flirting going on, more so on Racer’s side, he is able to impress Lana with his incredible driving abilities and soon he is flying off to Australia to become a Formula One driver. While Lana tries her hardest to keep things professional with Racer, she proves to be no match for his tenacity. He is determined to make Lana his and is pulling out all the stops to make that happen.
When Lana finally succumbs to Racer’s seduction, these two are practically burning up the sheets with their white-hot passion. While things seem to only intensify between Racer and Lana, they both have some demons that have the power to tear the lovers apart. Can Lana finally put the past to rest? Will Racer be able to trust that Lana can handle his darkness?

➳We first read about him when he was a child, and the phrase “like father, like son” is given full justice in this compelling novel by the one and only Katy Evans…
➳When it comes down to having a mindset that will get you what you want, when you want it, it is a good thing to know that Racer Tate will not out do that method. As well, when we first met Racer back in Legend, we knew that he would be a little man to steal hearts from left and right. Thankfully he didn’t become an ultimate playboy like most stories have (which is not a bad thing, just expected sometimes.) Racer grew up to become a man who not only sticks to his every last word, but is also an individual with pride and honor coming both from him towards himself, but also from those who surround him such as his family.
➳Lana Heyworth on the other hand is a woman who has grown from a past filled with emotional turmoil. One that with the help from her dad and three brothers, has been able to endure the blockades that the world has given her. As a recruiter for her dad’s F1 company in racing, she finds herself in St. Pete next to a guy that makes her heart beat faster than normal, but she also finds the man that not only will make her his, but also ruin her for anyone else out there. Racer shows her that he is the best racer in the world and keeps trying to demonstrated that throughout the novel, when in reality she knows from the very first glance that he is indeed the best.
➳Though the truth about Racer is later found throughout the story, one can say that is somewhat a shocking dilemma. Keeping it from Lana is the last thing he wants to do, but just to keep her safe from the ugly truth, that is the only thing Racer is capable of doing. Light is shed onto his monsters and Lana is there by his side through every step of the day. For Racer, there is no one else in the world that can make him feel the way Lana, (but just like he likes to call her- crasher) makes him feel. She is his eyes and his soul mate. The one and only woman who will forever own his heart no matter what. Lana at fist is hesitant about admitting feelings towards him since not only are they constantly at a work environment and need to keep things professional, but she also has a past that leads her through the emotional side of things that one can learn to sympathize about. Her story is one to endure and one to cultivate. However, when the time comes, they both learn that loving each other is the only way to endure those dark monsters and the let go of the past and both of them ensure that passion towards each other in a way that makes you swoon for more;
➳Overall, Racer’s story was one that not only made me fall in love yet again with this series, but makes me hope that there is more to come. Iris, Racer’s younger sister is mentioned and it makes me pray that Katy will write her story soon? I CAN ONLY HOPE! This is a standalone, but it is highly recommend that you at least read book one, two, three, and six in the REAL series as they are connected in the family terms. Thank you Katy for being not only an incredible author, but also a true friend to. Even if this becomes the end of the REAL series (which I cannot confirm that since I do not know if it is the end of the series), Katy outdid herself with such a wonderfully written and well put together story that will surely make you want more and more!

Blog Tour, Review, & Excerpt at Of Pens and Pages
I need to read more books with professional race car driver heroes. There’s just something about them that gets me HOT. Especially intense, dirty-talking ones.
Fans of the Real series will be in for a treat because Katy Evans’ new book is about Remy and Brooke’s little boy, Racer. This time, little Racer is not so little anymore. Not to worry though, this book is still a standalone, so it’s fine if you haven’t read any of the Real books yet.
HW Racing Team is on their last leg and everyone is close to giving up, but not Lana Heyworth. She knows how much this means to her father, so she’ll do her best to make sure they can keep their F1 team even if it means going to the US to scout a new driver.
Luck is on her side when she bumps into the Racer Tate, the best illegal street racer in the country. Driving a Mustang is different from driving a formula car, but Racer has proven his skills and Lana has nothing left to lose. Except maybe her sanity from trying to resist sleeping with the all-too-tempting racer who decided she’s the one.
Being technically Racer’s boss isn’t the only thing hindering Lana from giving in. With three overprotective brothers, a father who wants nothing but the best for her, and a past that made her guard her heart, Racer’s going to need to break a few walls to get to Lana’s heart. And Racer has a secret of his own that could break his career before it even takes off, and lose the one woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with.
The sexual tension is sizzling! Wow. Racer is not just intense on the racetrack; He’s intense in bed, has intense feelings for Lana, and intense loyalty to those who successfully sneak their way into his circle.
I admire Lana’s love and devotion to her family, especially her dad. You can feel the genuine love she feels for her father (and brothers, even if they’re pains in the a** sometimes). She’s been their rock and baby, if that makes sense, and with Racer looming over her like a wolf, her brothers are in their overprotective mode.
The only thing that kept me from giving this book five stars is the way “slut” and its variations were thrown in at the start of the book. Lana judged the women for flirting with Racer and she even used the term on herself for thinking something promiscuous. Although I guess there’s character growth with regards to that as the story progressed.
Other than that, I enjoyed this book very much! If you haven’t read a romance with a professional racecar driver hero before, maybe now’s the time to do it with Racer. Wow. Just wow. My ovaries have been converted. Can anyone hit me up with recs because I need it! Haha.

➦Sitting here and wishing there were more books about racers. Because, honestly... they are sexy beasts who love danger and speed. It sounds real exciting. I'll go on a limb and make an assumption tht since most romance writers are female they might not know much about cars or just not care for them? I still don't know what makes them wheels spin. lol
➦I'll hand it to Katy Evans and say that the car/racing aspect of the book was pretty well done. I used to watch F1 religiously but at some point I got le bored and deemed reading romance novels more beneficial to my mental health. But hubs still watches it constantly and all I hear is "DRS this, DRS that." And funny enough I don't think DRS was mentioned in this book at all.
➦But anywhocaresaboutcarterms, the romance here was good, especially closer to the end. The beginning is what sort of didn't work for me - it was very insta everything on both parts and at a half way point I almost dropped the book. I'm glad I didn't but that doesn't change the fact that, while I do enjoy a mate trope in my PNR novels, in my contemporary novels I prefer characters that don't declare their undying love an hour after being introduced. I guess I just wasn't that much into that particular aspect of this book. Completely personal preference here. :) Everything else I did enjoy.

Nice cover on this one. Good representation of the hero. Good composition and title workf as well.
I really don't have a lot to say about this one. I was looking for something easy peasy and low angst for today and this one was 100% that. The writing was excellent. The pace was good. The plot was engaging. Like I said above it was low angst and there was no OW/OM drama. The sex scenes were hot. The secondary characters interesting (I wonder if Lana's brothers will be getting books??) I ADORED Racer. He was pretty much a perfect hero. I liked Lana just SLIGHTLY less. I found her a tiny bit frustrating at times. That often happens when an author has a perfect hero and a reluctant heroine. But overall I found her character to be enjoyable. Lastly, it was all wrapped up in an OK ending. I would have liked to have gotten an epilogue with a future look at this couple but like I said hopefully her brothers and his sister will get books of their own and we will see more of this couple then.

Okaaay, ladies and gentlemen! Meet Formula 1 racing driver Fernando Alonso... He's fast, he's hot and he's very, very funny! :) Oh shit, sorry. I was meant to say "Racer Tate!" Oops my bad, sorry!!! :P We're talking about the book? My mind went another dimension just for a second. :P
Anyway, let's get serious just for a moment. :) If you I ever read my about me section on my profile page then you would know that I'm a huge fan of Formula 1 and Fernando Alonso. I went Turkish Gp two times and I've watched F1 very closely for years... So because of that I was really excited and curious about this book and I really have to read it as soon as it's out. And now naturally I'm gonna harass you with my Fernando Alonso gifs!!! :)
I really enjoyed this story. It was quite fun to read and I really loved Racer & Lana. Their chemistry were really hot! :) And I'm gonna honest with you for one thing, if you're part of this world even as an audience and after you read this book you'll think, F1 is not that simple but fuck it, I know that and I even laughed a couple of things while I was reading it BUT Racer Tate and his fucking delicious -smartass- mouth entertained me so much. Just because of that I'm going to rate this book with 5 stars! <3
Bottom line, if you're looking for a fun & hot book, you should give it a chance. ;)

When I turned the last page of Legend, I bawled my eyes out. Tears of sorrow fell for this top 2016 read and the end of the all-time favorite Real series. Then the incredible Katy Evans blessed readers with another book and Racer was born. Oh did Racerstay true to the beloved Real series. I still can't get over this BRILLIANT and BEAUTIFUL BOOK!!!

3.5 "This love is real" stars
I still can't grasp that THIS is Remy's kid?!
Remy, my Remy's kid?! *sigh*
so, I went in just like this...
with some expectation, i admit...but i was also vary of the imposing doubt...and well, the doubts won over...
We follow the story of Racer Tate , Remington Tate & Brooke Dumas' son, now, an illegal street racer who also deals with inherited bipolar condition his father also has.
Racer is a young man whose persistence and cocky determination as a cover reveals a big heart behind, he's a man who knows how to achieve what he wants and he goes for it, and when he meets Lana Heyworth a 22 year old working for her familiy F1 racing team, as their PR and basically everything else, and as she offers him a job as a driver for their team, Racer not only accepts the job as a challenge BUT also the alluring attraction towards this young woman, cause just like it took one look for his father to know Brooke was the one for him, the apple does not fall far from its tree...
Racer will work to prove Lana that he's the one for her, just like he knows she owned his heart from the very first sight.
To tell you the truth, i was having second thoughts about how to rate this story, cause honestly besides having a hot demanding cocky sexy young hunk who wooes a girl and their steamy interactions and interchanging thoughts about the seriousness of his condition, some heavy speed and adrenaline filled action sequences, NOTHING is going on in this book!
It was easy to read BUT without any butterflies or palpitations or whatever, and it was simply just an OKAY read - a sweet, heart warming, romance.
Simply put, there's only one Remington Tate aka Remy and nothing or no one can top that.
P.s. yeah, I hold the right to change my rating at any time, so I did.

I really really love this series. Remy is still my favorite of the series, but I really loved Racer too. I liked that Racer was a bit like his dad, but I still felt like he was his own person. I would have liked more Remy and Brooke. I would have liked more catching up with past couples. I liked Lana a lot but the reason this book was 4 and not 5 stars was her and her dead ex. It would have been better if she did not talk about her dead ex so much in the book. I need the couples I read about to be all about each other. Though to be fair I never felt like Racer was second place it just bugged me she talked about it so much. I have really enjoyed this series. I hope Katy Evans writes Lana's brothers some books and Iris too. ( I will go back and write better reviews for this series when life isn't so crazy around my house)

It was a long time since I read a book in this series and I need to tell you how much I adored Racer.
Everything about Racer was perfect I enjoyed him.He is confident,sexy,smart and possessive.Lana is also a great heroine, I enjoyed her a lot.Racer and Lana have some super hot and intense moments.You could feel their attraction and they have an amazing chemistry.

He is 100% Tate and Lana finds it impossible not to fall in love with him.

“When I get my hands on you, you’ll be made love to like you’ve never been made love to before.” He grabs my face, squeezes it and pecks my lips in the fiercest way he’s ever done. “I’m going to fuck all those moans out of you until the whole hotel and city hears you.”
I love imperfect and complex characters. I love seeing aspects in them that you can also find in real life. Both main characters are dealing with difficult situations in their lives but it’s clear that their love for each other can go past anything. The instant connection and chemistry between Racer and Lana is just THAT GOOD. Racer, as I said, is a Tate in all things important: he is a hawt dirty man just like his father and you will adore him for it. The love between this couple will melt you all over the place.
Can you love someone so hard that every part of your being feels it?
Yes, my heart whispers.
Therefore, I am rating Racer with 4.5 STARS because this story brought back all the feelings that Katy Evans provoked in me when I first met Remy and Brooke (btw, it was great seeing them again!). Lana and Racer are such wonderful characters (and couple!) and if you loved the past novels in the series, you’ll fall head over heels in love with this one too. Highly recommend reading it!

He's the fastest, fiercest driver around.
'RACER' is the seventh book in Katy Evans 'Real' series but can be read as a complete standalone.
Twenty-two year old ‘Lana Heyworth’ and her over protective family moved to Europe a few years back (father and three older brothers) to pursue her father's dream which then became hers to start a Formula One Team called HW Racing, with the dream of becoming successful, Lana is the team's PR, success is always out of their grasp though. Lana begs for just a few days to bring them some new talent to shake things up. So jumping on the red eye touching down in ‘St. Petersburg’ she hopes to catch eight indie drivers during their practice run before their season takes off.
Arriving into St Petersburg' to scout out a driver she quite literally kisses cars with a guy who obviously has no driving etiquette, cocky flirting banter ensues.
Racer Tate is the famous son of Remy Tate, but unlike his father Racer wanted to find his own clique in life and and started doing illegal car racing at the age of eighteen and found that this is where his adrenaline was pumping, crossing that line of the straight and narrow and living on the edge was what he excelled in, the best of the best.
It doesn't take Lana long at all to convince Racer to come and try his hand at racing on the circuit.
But can a rough street racer have the stamina to go to the top on the F1 circuit?
Like an adrenaline junky I also wanted to get behind the wheel and see what I could do!! The nail biting race to the finish had me biting my nails.
This was slow paced in some areas but perfectly paced in others, a slow burn romance which had me rooting for them, strong secondary characters that made an appearance which made the book more entertaining instead of the focus being on the two main characters. You can tell Katy Evans is a seasoned author, her words just flow effortlessly, her knack of pulling you into the storyline was sublime. You can't compare this book to any other. An entertaining sexually charged read for a rainy day. Highly recommend.

Well this was one little fast ride! A racing bad boy and the woman who brings him to his knees? I practically drooled on the spot when I heard about this story and let me tell you, the story itself was one adrenaline-pumping, sexy read.
Being the son of a famous fighter, Racer Tate is keen to make his own mark in racing. Already a legend in street racing, he has everything that a man can want right now and nothing can get better than this. That is until he sees a green eyed beauty who makes him want more and what Racer wants, Racer gets.
Lana Heyworth has worked hard for the past few years on her family’s racing team and seeing some of her siblings begin to lose hope for team’s success, only makes Lana that more determined in finding someone. But not just anyone, this person has to have what it takes to get in the driver’s seat and be one of the greats. Bumping into Racer was an accident, looking into those blue eyes, was a mistake but falling for him will be the best decision she’ll ever make.
What will happen when Racer decides he wants the girl and the championship?

I LOVED everything about Racer in this story. In the beginning I truly thought that he was a little crazy with his bluntness but I loved it!! He didn’t waste any time in saying what he wanted and he went after it. If he wanted to be number one, he did everything in his power to make sure he could get there and executed the same philosophy in being with Lana. His dedication and love to everything he cared about was worth watching and I enjoyed every moment of his journey.
Like the adrenaline junkie I was, my heart was in my throat on that race track with Racer. Every nerve, every muscle movement and scare, I felt it and even though some of those scenes weren’t easy, I’m glad I got to witness those moments because they were raw, real, and up-close. If you’ve read the previous books and loved them, I know you wont be disappointed in “Racer”.

I loved it!
I'm not the biggest fan of racing books. Because I'm always way too afraid that our darling will get hurt or die. Or maybe die once the book is over - which is stupid, since it's all fictional, but I'm weird. ☺
Racer is sooo adorable. He's this mega-hot, mysterious, talented guy. Everybody loves him. Everybody wants him.
His dad just wants him to stay close to the family and fight. Because, while he did not inherit his dad's passion for fighting, he did inherit something else from him. ☹
Racer's been looking for something, someone, to calm his inner craziness, his whole life. Basically, he's been looking for his own Brooke.
And now here comes this beautiful girl Lana.

Were there some tiny things I didn't like about the story?
Hm, not really. Just that Racer talks weirdly. He leaves out words at the beginning of a sentence and it sounds totally weird. The whole writing was a bit weird here and there - there were even a few little conversations/sentences that I did not understand at all????!!! Very weird.
Also, it was a bit ... uneventful? Wasn't it?! Nothing much happens. I wanted a bit ... more. And there are lots repetitions in conversations and explanations and the whole F1 stuff - I've been watching F1 my whole life - on and off - and some expressions I've never heard in my life. A green flag at the start? Doesn't exist. BUT I still LOVED this story very much! Probably half a star is for the fact that it's Remy's son though.

That was a riveting race tale! Hot sex and fast cars, page turning suspense and sizzling romance, it had everything I like!
This is the story of Racer and Lana. Racer is so freaking hot and sexy! OMG..he's a race car driver! But not only that I just loved his swag, the way he talked, his confidence, his hot temper, his possessiveness and his heart for Lana. Lana is a woman not only gorgeous, but also smart and she knows everything about F1.
Overall this book was great!! I loved every minute. I loved the chemistry and relationship between Lana and Racer. The other secondary characters in the book were also great. I really feel this author pulled me into the story and I felt like I was living it with these characters. This was very well written and developed. I am, admittedly, a race fan, so I loved that aspect of the story, but I think that just about anyone would enjoy this book for the romance and the suspense.

I was so excited to read this book, to read about little Racer, that once I got my copy I had to stop everything to read it. This book doesn’t disappoint. My Remy and Brooke’s son is so much more than I hoped. Lets just say "like father, like son"
Racer, a blue eyed dare devil, is one sexy man. He’s a street car racer, the best in the field. Lana is looking for the best driver to help save her family's F1 team, and she finds him in Racer. Their relationship was intense from the start. Their chemistry is palpable and you knew these two were meant for each other.
Racer has demons he needs to fight against, and he thinks he’ll never find a woman who will love him entirely. He’s beautiful, sexy, hard working and confident. But deep down he has insecurities and is afraid to show weakness. Lana likes to take care of the people she loves. She is sweet, smart and loyal. They both compliment each other beautifully.
I really enjoyed the F1 scene. I grew up watching F1 with my dad and brothers, so I was excited to read a book with a F1 racer. That whole world just captivates me, the speed, the sound of the cars and yes, the sexy drivers too.
Overall this was a great book. I loved seeing Remy, Brooke and the rest of the gang, even if it was in little scenes. It was like reuniting with family again. I highly recommend you read the entire series because its amazing!

Lana is completely & thoroughly seduced by Racer, and has never felt so wanted. She craves & adores everything about him. He totally undoes her. He's sexy, confident, reckless, charming, intense, demanding, real, powerful, & addictive.
This is my favorite book I've read this year! As much as I love Remy, I fell even harder for his son Racer. Racer is such a complex, beautiful person. He's all alpha, but he's also so tender. Like his father, when he falls, he falls hard & it's all consuming. When he finds the one for him, he's all in. He feels such a raw need for Lana, & won't stop fighting until she's his.

Katy Evans is trying to capture the magic of her first book, Real, but fails to create a decent plot and decent characters. Racer (which is a stupid name) and Lana (who is a pitiful excuse for a heroine) act like two blowup dolls that can’t stop humping each other. How many times on EACH PAGE do you have to read that “my eyes locked with his” and “my nipples blah blah blah”?? Girl give it a rest.

It has been a long time since I have read about Remy. I am gonna be honest here and confess, that I have not read all the books in the "Real" series...yet. I've only read the ones about Remy and Brooke, but when I found out this was about "Racer", Remy and Brooke's son, I had to give it a go ;)
Racer seems to share a lot of trades with his dad. The one difference however, is that Racer has a passion for racing instead of fighting.
Lana also has a passion for racing, but her's is a completely different one. Her family owns a Formula 1 team, HW Racing, which is on the brink of going down. They need a new driver...fast. Lana really wants her father's dreams to come true, especially now that he is sick, so she hops on a plane to the States, to go find him one. She is looking for the very best !
Racer and Lana meet, when she bumps into his car, while trying to find a parking spot. She has no idea who Racer is, but she is completely enarmored by the man.
From the moment these two meet, there is a lot of spark and flirting going on. But when Lana finds out Racer could be the man she is looking for, she tries her very best to keep things professional between them. She doesn't want to ruin this chance for her family.
Racer, being much like his father, is not about to just give up though... He will stop at nothing to make her his....and of course he succeeds. A girl can only take so much :P
These two were definitely HOT when Lana finally gave in, though I have to say I didn't expect anything less from Remy's son !
Racer still has some secrets he needs to share...secrets that could cost him his career and his girl.....
I really enjoyed this story and I loved Racer, but to be honest...Lana was not my favorite heroine. I also think the whole F1 was a bit unrealistic, but then again....this is fiction....
It was HOT, sweet and fun and I would definitely recommend it ;)

5 Racey Steamy Stars
Racer is a standalone and is part of the Real series. Racer is Remy and Booke’s son.
I’m SUPER excited for this book! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again I never want this series to end. Racer is a steamy treat and met all of my expectations and more. I’ll say it again, it’s a VERY steamy book, which was exactly what I was in the mood for.
What I really liked about this book was well, pretty much everything. I love Katy Evans writing style and I love how each book keeps you on your toes, but never crosses the line. Racer is yummy, adorable and I love how his personality is completely different from his father’s, yet he’s has a dominate prideful element to him.
Racer loves fast cars and he can drive them fast too.
Alana and her family are part of formula team. I don’t know much about this but it was really interesting to read. They basically scout for drivers and have them race. Alana has her eye on Racer and Racer is all about showing how well he can drive.
I liked the plot of this book and I liked reading about all the racing. It was just different and refreshing to me.
The star of the book is the relationship between Racer and Alana. I love the powerful chemistry they have. The tension is off the charts and wicked addictive. I read this book in one sitting and I couldn’t get enough of it. The thing I love most about this book is that Racer chases after Alana and I love it when a Hero chases after the Heroine.
Again, I can’t stress how much I love the writing flow of this one. Racer had the perfect balance of tension, plot development and character interaction to keep me interested.
I could read this book again and again. It’s a must!

Alana and her family are part of formula team. I don’t know much about this but it was really interesting to read. They basically scout for drivers and have them race. Alana has her eye on Racer and Racer is all about showing how well he can drive.
I liked the plot of this book and I liked reading about all the racing. It was just different and refreshing to me.
The star of the book is the relationship between Racer and Alana. I love the powerful chemistry they have. The tension is off the charts and wicked addictive. I read this book in one sitting and I couldn’t get enough of it. The thing I love most about this book is that Racer chases after Alana and I love it when a Hero chases after the Heroine.
Again, I can’t stress how much I love the writing flow of this one. Racer had the perfect balance of tension, plot development and character interaction to keep me interested.
I could read this book again and again. It’s a must!

4 Second Generation, Just as Intense Stars

In July 2013 I picked up a book by Katy Evans called Real. It took me by surprise; I had never read anything like it. It had this main character whose intensity and determination towards his love interest was instant and laced with the battle cry of MINE.
Evans gave the feel of overwhelming want, lust, care, and love. She did it in such a way, it caused the reader to agree to suspend all disbelief because your endorphins were demanding it. Readers became obsessed with this story and Evans did many more books about this couple from different points of views. I read some of them and then lost touch as it can happen.
In Racer (Real, #7), we are given a gift. We are given the prodigal son of Remington and his love focus Brooke. This could have gone a lot of different ways...For me it went exactly the way it was supposed to...It gave me Second Generation Real... 2.0. ... And that is a plus for me. If you liked the first entry, the original Real... then I think you will be loving this.
It has the same intensity; Racer is a man who meets the one woman he wants to be his other half. From the moment he meets her, he is working 24/7 in ways to convenience her, she is his/ he is hers. Racer admits to himself... that love his parents have is everything he wants. He does have the same darkness his father had...and he is not sure how anyone could love him like his mother loves his dad.
That is his fear.
What is Lana Heyworth's fear...Well, she has her hands full. She loves her family of father and 3 older brothers. Her mother left all of them when it became clear she had no love for the Racing Industry. Once she left all of them, the family closed ranks around the father and his dream of Formula One Racing became their dream. They had some success in the past but lately, things have not been great.
In fact, the list of not great is...
A recent driver tryout crashed one of the million dollar cars...leaving only 2 left...
A father who is sick and no one can convince him to do any treatments....
And last but not least, with only 4 days to fly from halfway around the world to St. Pete OR where there are Formula One Drivers doing an event, She needs to find a driver that will join the team and bring the Heyworth Racing Team back to the winners Circle.
Easy...Sure...
Lana goes the track and because she is trying to get there after everything has started... parking spots are slim to none... She is manipulating her car towards a last spot when a red mustang comes out of no where blocking her and winds up getting tagged by Lana...
Another Not Great for her List...
Yet when she starts to read Racer the riot act...She is taken by this staggering man... testosterone dripping off him while he looks directly into her eyes... causing the need to regroup before speaking....Lana does but the flirting starts from Racer right off the bat.
Lana is in the stands looking at drivers and Racer comes and sits next to her. Lana is having a difficult time breathing normally near him... Racer's presence is that strong. Racer looks at the list Lana has and systematically tells her what is wrong with each name...He then takes a pen and writes his name on the sheet, letting her know that is the only name she needs. Then he throws down the gauntlet...tells her where to see this Racer person work his magic.
Lana is a bit overwhelmed...she is jet-lagged, hungry and extremely tired... but the clock is ticking and she needs a driver who is the best. She shows up at the location for the illegal race and is stunned by Racer's performance. It is scary, fantastic, and just what the team needs. But then again, Formula One racing is nothing like Street racing... What to do...
Racer is himself most behind the wheel... racing is his dearest love beside his family. His passion for racing is exactly like the passion his father had for fighting. His dad wanted him to feel that way about fighting but racing was his thing. He won this street race and the only thing Racer can think about is Lana...
Both of these two are wired... Racer with his want for Lana and Lana with seeing a racer she knows will bring life to her family's Formula One team...Lana also is drawn to Racer but has her own reasons why she is trying to fight her desire for him.
She presents the offer to Racer... Come with her, become their driver and commit to the upcoming season. Racer's answer is direct... When do we leave...
We go on this Racer/Real 2.0 journey... intense sexual wants and actions....a singular focus on what Racer wants, Lana. We have Lana into Racer more than she should be or wants...because of a past heartbreak... she is constantly afraid of her feelings for Racer. She also is worried that without this chasing of the Formula One Wins, her father may slip away.
This was a ride reminiscent of how the very first Real book felt for me...amazing sexy times, intense desire for the woman the man has felt was his...Also a closer look at the demons one can have and how sometimes it can be really brave to ask for help.
I think this is worth the read if you just go with it... and as subtle reminder of all that has been Real... the cover is perfect.

Finally caught up to the Real series. Racer is a great book which features a next generation character. Our protagonist is Racer Tate. He's no longer the cute baby I adored in the previous novels. He's a grown up and is very much like his father, Remington Tate (Real, Mine,Remy). He's intense, charismatic, athletic and thrill-seeker except he didn't follow his father's footsteps in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). His name says it all. He's naturally talented and born to dominate the motorsport industry.
His love interest was Lana Heyworth. The only way to save their family's F-1 racing team (HW Racing Team) was to recruit a new driver for the upcoming tournament. It's their last chance and Lana doesn't want to disappoint her father whose passion was racing. With Lana's determination, her exhaustion was worth it when she met Racer. Their first encounter was sort of a meet cute moment but I don't mind. He's an illegal street racer and seeing his performance, she believed he can win the championships.
Sparks ignited between Racer and Lana. They shared a great chemistry and no matter how Lana resists her attraction, it drives Racer to pursue her more. It reminds me of Brooke and Remy's story. Simple and sexy but Racer and Lana's story is less complicated than them. I love the motorsport aspect was perfectly highlighted and descriptive. It adds to the ambiance and makes me feel like I'm watching an actual race.
Overall, I really enjoyed it. The only downside in this book was the sexy times were dragged on. It's almost boring and I tried hard not to skim pages. My pace starts to pick up by 70% mark and everything went smoothly in the end. No worries if you jumped into this book even if you haven't started the series because it can be read as a standalone.

It’s me, all me. I was over this book after about chapter 5, but I refuse to DNF. I couldn’t wait for this book to be over.
