Monica Lewinsky was invited to a Town & Country magazine event — then uninvited after former President Bill Clinton joined the lineup.
She was bumped from the lifestyle mag’s annual Philanthropy Summit Wednesday after Clinton came on board to introduce teen gun control activist Emma Gonzalez, the Huffington Post reports.
Lewinsky denounced the diss in a tweet — but didn’t call out the Hearst-owned magazine by name.
“dear world: please don’t invite me to an event (esp one about social change) and –then after i’ve accepted– uninvite me because bill clinton then decided to attend/was invited. it’s 2018. emily post would def not approve,” she tweeted Wednesday, referring to the late etiquette expert.
“p.s. …and definitely, please don’t try to ameliorate the situation by insulting me with an offer of an article in your mag,” she added in a second tweet.
Lewisnky — who infamously had an affair with the married president when she was a 22-year-old White House intern — did respond to a tweet specifically calling out Town & Country, however.
“This is what everyone is fighting against. @townandcountry should be ashamed of themselves. Do they let their heads of the magazine prey on their interns? Would they disinvite them after abusing their power to get what they wanted from them?” movie director Judd Apatow wrote.
The now-44-year-old anti-bullying advocate responded to the tweet with an emoji of fingers doing a “peace” sign.
The Hearst Tower event celebrates the magazine’s annual philanthropy issue. The edition includes a Top 50 power list of deep-pocketed do-gooders — this year including George and Amal Clooney, Bill and Melinda Gates, and Colin Kaepernick.
Broadway star Lin-Manuel Miranda was slated to headline this year’s summit, which also featured model Karlie Kloss, actor Bradley Cooper and TV host Tamron Hall.
Town & Country did not immediately return a request for comment.
