NEW DELHI: Taking a swipe at the municipal corporations and DDA, Aam Aadmi Party warned on Saturday that Delhiites would no longer tolerate “corrupt and inefficient” civic bodies. It cited the high court directives and observations on the working of the civic bodies to highlight the mess.
“People will no longer tolerate the inefficiency and incompetence of BJP-ruled municipal corporations and central government-controlled DDA for their monumental failure in keeping Delhi clean and pollution free,” said Dilip Pandey, AAP’s Delhi convener.

He went on to say that “the high court was absolutely correct in stating that if they cannot manage the garbage landfill sites, then what is the use of having them”. Pandey also pointed out that this was not the first time that HC had slammed the civic bodies.
He put forth a list of questions for the corporations. “Why do the municipal corporations want to keep the city dirty and polluted? Is it their basic governance model? What is BJP’s roadmap for improving the performance of the civic bodies,” he asked.
He also slammed PM Narendra Modi on the issue of demonetisation. “Recently, the issue of faulty printing of Rs 500 notes surfaced, where different notes had different kind of printing. What was shocking is the RBI’s response that it happened due to the rush to release currency,” Pandey said. He maintained this had hurt the image of the central bank.
He also criticised Modi for “changing the rules” every other day. “Earlier you (Modi) said there will be 90% penalty on unaccounted money and now it has been reduced to 50%. What kind of joke is this?”
Pandey added the time had come to probe the accounts of all the BJP and AAP leaders to clarify who is against black money and who hoards it.
