Digger’s weekly social media round up #14

Taking a look back now at some of the highlights of the Digger Man Blogs social media activity and interaction with our readers and members from the past week.

Digger’s weekly social media round up #14
I’ve been away enjoying a nice bit of overseas sunshine and chill out time, but there has been no shortage of action on the Digger Man Blog’s Facebook page while I’ve been away and so here are a few of my highlights from this past week. There were a few mixed opinions about the posting of adverts on the blog group page and active blog member Grant Mgr Linton posted a thread topic about this which certainly got people talking. You can check out the post here and have your say on the topic.   14572203_174996672946138_650805626439872448_n Such is the joy of social media, there were a couple of heated debates while I was trying to chill out, but I'm pleased to report that normal service was quickly resumed and another post that raised my interest came from Sam Peet, with his posting of photos of an unusual machine in the form of an Italian Macmoter midi excavator. Like many machines over the years, these excavators were badged up for various manufacturers including O&K, Case, Zeppelin and Fiat-Hitachi. This example of a BR75 model is showing 2279 hours on the meter and looks in tidy condition for its age. Why not take a look at the post by clicking on this post. 14563583_10209019926908234_7624729876577853507_n Long term Digger Man Blog follower and contributor Ryan Paddy Daly posted a photo of one of the company’s Cat 615C elevating scrapers in a rather unusual position which prompted a few comments from fellow readers on the correct protocol of motor scraper operation. Check out the chat here. 14610864_1167327063334934_2344026825982519824_n Cornishman Dan Climo demonstrated just why self-drive hire of your machine can often be a heart breaking experience, as he showed the condition of one of their Kubota mini excavators which had been returned in a pretty dirty mess. I recall once hiring out my Komatsu PC20R to a guy who told me he could operate it, so I trusted it to him for its first ever job which proved costly for me, he got it stuck in a bog, with a track off, and the diesel drain tap knocked off by a piece of wood! Felix Ottey posted this photo of an ageing Sumitomo excavator that a mate of his is doing some voluntary operating on out in Indonesia with at the moment, check out the old girl here, I’m sure it will make you appreciate your current mount even more! 14563322_10154694125318777_7570453501600222162_n Finally this week its my pleasure to confirm that after months of planning and hard work by the team at Earthmovers Magazine, we finally have our new website up and running, which features an all new dynamic look and improved features for those who read via a tablet or mobile phone device, check out our shiny new home here. Have a great weekend Digger Man Blog fans and followers.
