What Is Tylan? Tylan is a POM-V (Prescription Only Medicine) and is a broad spectrum antibiotic that treats bacterial diseases in the respiratory tract or of mycoplasmal origin in chickens and turkeys. Tylan comes as a soluble powder but there is also an injectable form too that vets will sometimes give in severe cases. The injectable form is not licensed for use in hens producing eggs for human consumption in the UK, but the soluable powder form is.The following information is about Tylan Soluble (powder)...
So What Is Tylosin and Tylanfur? Tylosin, Tylanfur and other subnames which can include Oxymav B, Tylovet, Tilfur, Triple C and Biovet as well as others are all substitutes of the poultry antibiotic (Tylan) that is available in the UK. They are imported from places like Australia, USA and Spain and are readily available in feed stores and don't require a prescription like in the UK, so you can import them without any prescription required.
Used to treat: Chronic Respiratory Disease, Mycoplasma Synoviae, Airsacculitis in chickens and Mycoplasma Gallisepticum in chickens and turkeys.
Dosage: Chickens and Turkeys: 0.5 g per litre of water.
Active ingredient: Tylosin.
Egg withdrawal for chickens: Tylan has no withdrawl period.
Slaughtering for meat for human consumption: 1 day after the last treatment.
Length of treatment: 24 to 72 hours when treating Mycoplasmosis.
Warnings: Mixed solution should not be older than three days. Wash hands and any splashes immediately with soap and water if you come into contact with the solution and should be stored in a tightly closed original container below 25ÂșC and out of reach of children.
