I really enjoyed reading The Nearness Of You! This is a super sweet romance between the very hot David and the very talented Lauren, with a little edge that keeps you entertained. KG Fletcher did a great job being so descriptive that you feel like you are right there inside the book. I can't wait to read more from her!

This wonderful romance read was like a fairy tale.
David, a British world famous model, and Lauren, an American talented and aspiring lounge singer, crossed paths and together were avid enough to “fly to the moon and play up with those stars”, regardless their worlds were totally different.

The instant attraction and chemistry they shared was beautifully delivered by the author and I was rooting for them throughout the story.
The writing was alluring, made me fall in love with the characters, surrounded me with great musical selections, and the story had a fantastic flow.

This was a heartwarming romantic story, easy to read and connect with the characters, created emotions, had passion and little drama.

New-to-me-author with a touch of the '40s" feel -- although modern day between a male super model (think David Gandy) and a "normal" girl who didn't see the beauty in herself that he saw. Well-written with lots of setting changes from NYC to Georgia to Italy, making it exciting as well. Globe-trotting with a Gandy-like super male model isn't bad reading -- if you can get it!

Their road to happily-ever-after is not always paved with roses and lollipops. Nope, there are those who don’t want to see this coupling happen, and it gets a little ugly. A bit of angst and sad at times, too. A nicely paced storyline with entertaining back-up casting as well. Emotional with a few unexpected touches and surprises that makes this a worthwhile delight to read.

My Favorite book by KG Fletcher so far!
This was such a good story - I loved the characters, especially Lauren - who seems like a friend any of us might actually know. David was a real person too - not what you would expect from a male super model - he was very relatable, very down to earth, and very sexy! This author knows romance, honey!!! She makes this couple one you root for and their falling in love story is so sweet, I just loved it!!! (You will too!)

The Nearness of You is a wonderfully romantic and captivating story by the extremely talented K.G Fletcher. I absolutely love Ms. Fletcher’s books and have fallen in love with every single one I have read!! She has a warm, sexy, almost lyrical style to her writing which really lends itself to the beautiful stories and characters she creates. This book was almost like watching an old Hollywood movie, but with a modern spin. Speaking of movies, this story would make a fabulous film!! The story is so perfectly sexy and romantic, with just enough tension, sparks, emotion, and drama to keep things really interesting.
As I have come to expect from Ms. Fletcher, this story played quite a fine tune with my emotions, I really was emotionally invested in the characters and the outcome of their story- feeling everything they went through right alongside them. I was completely hooked, right from the beginning, because it was so easy to read and so very easy to love Lauren and David. These two are really quite wonderful- lovingly created and fully developed individuals who were both so endearing. They had a sizzling connection, and their chemistry sparked right off the pages.
David is a famous male model who’s in town to attend his sister’s wedding. I loved him so much, he’s quite the swoony one, a perfect book boyfriend to add to my collection. He definitely has a ‘David Gandy’ feel to him, not that I’ve met Mr. Gandy in person, but I can imagine that he would be a lot like this David. Lauren is a real sweetheart, a wonderful singer who dreams of making it big on the music scene someday. They meet, and the sparks ignite. David introduces her to his world and things get really interesting. Is he looking for something permanent, or just a diversion? Can she get her head around his somewhat crazy lifestyle? Will these two find the happiness they’ve both been searching for?
This gave me all the ‘feels, and then some!
So worth the read!!

Thank you, Ms. Fletcher!

The Nearness of You by K.G. Fletcher a five-star read that you won’t want to put down. I have read a few reads by this author and I have to admit this one was my favourite, I couldn’t put it down. On the surface you would think that David and Lauren could be quite self-centred and selfish as he is a hot model and she is a talented singer, but they aren’t and that’s the joy of this story, they have their moments but still they will make you fall for them as they fall for each other, there is a sizzle and spark that will keep you hooked.

New author to me that hit the spot

Okay, let me put this out there. I had to re-start a couple chapters and maybe even a few paragraphs, but I got to the end and was pleased with the story that I read. There was one crazy lady, a jealousy lady, two confused hearts, and a horde of stalking photo takers. David and Lauren were cute together. The both found that something more and something extra. I will have to say that there are moment of pure sadness and maybe a few tears.

This was a new author to me this year with a new adult romance with lots of female issues.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Easy-to-read Entertaining Romantic Realistic Unpredictable

The Nearness of You by K.G. Fletcher is a wonderful contemporary romance story. There is one thing that KG knows and that is how to write romance that is easy to lose yourself in and become invested in it. This story is my favourite to date. The story was beautifully written and very emotive. A chance meeting between a lounge singer and a supermodel, Lauren and David begins one of the best love stories. But the road to love is not always smooth especially when there are others who think they are worthy of that love and make life a misery.

I would recommend this book to any looking for a quick, fun standalone romance where opposites attract through love at first sight. I was quickly captivated with Lauren and David as their world of music and fashion was brought to life. I enjoyed the flow of KG Fletcher’s writing which easily made me gasp at times as well as laugh and swoon.

I enjoyed the "Southern Promises" series written by this author so I was looking forward to getting comfortable and opening this book.

This is a book that fulfills many girls dreams. The "what if I meet that famous person, would I be able to handle myself? Be true to myself?" This story explores that theme.

The main character is a strong woman who, while not ashamed of her situation, doesn't downplay it or use it to her advantage when talking to someone of means. She holds true to her values and doesn't mold herself to what she thinks she should be. A nice change of pace was how nice the lead male is. Sure he's got a great accent, is smoking hot, has a good head on his shoulders - he's also kind and nice. They have a meet cute and the story goes on from there.

The characters are quickly developed and have all the earmarks of a classic tale. The story flows well from beginning to end and I was able to stay totally comfortable while reading this quick tale.

I recommend this book and this author.

First of all I'm sorry to KG Fletcher for late review. I finished reading this month ago but something came up, Hence the delay.

If you're looking for light and instant romance, then this is book is definitely for you. I loved all the characters, but David was really super sweet. The only issue I had with this story was the Third party POV otherwise excellent.

The Nearness of You
By K.G. Fletcher
Rated 5 stars

OMG this book! I love so so many parts of it! I don’t want to put it down and you know...work, sleep etc. So that being said I finished this quickly since I put my life on hold. Ha ha. Just kidding....ummm not really. Well I picked this up because I’ve read other books by this author and I love them. She does an amazing job of making me feel connected to these characters.

David Randall——first off he’s British! Oh and a male model. So you know he’s a looker and a heart stopper. I loved David! He did all the right things and made all the right moves. He was gentlemanly and very concerned for Lauren’s feelings....which I could *feel* coming off the pages! I could easily tell when he was happy just being with her. It made me smile as well. I enjoyed how David looked as his sister and her new husband. I could feel their happiness and love as well as Davids joy while looking at them.

Lauren is amazing in her own right! She is a singer...I mean how sexy is that! I loved how they incorporated music and her singing into their lives. I had never heard “The Nearness of You” by Norah Jones before but I have heard it now. I also enjoyed the tie in to Fly me to the Moon....very romantic! Anyway Lauren has that vintage style going for her and her crooner voice. She did not have a easy go...being the “girlfriend” of supermodel David but she toughed it out and toughened up a bit. Go Lauren!

One of my fav scenes was Lauren and David go to a local restaurant.....

Sally at the restaurant cracked me up! I’m pretty sure she would be me when hearing a British accent.
“ did you hear that? He said pi-con. Not Pea-can!”
So I said that over and over in my head....yup! British accent started!

This is a delightful story of two people who meet by luck and see if they can make a go despite all the obstacles. This made me laugh, chuckle and care about these characters. I already mentioned how lovely the writing style is. The story flows very nicely as well. I highly recommend and this book will be placed on my Re-read list.

The Nearness of You
KG Fletcher
5 out of 5 stars

I thought I had recently become a really big fan of KG Fletcher’s writing, hooked on her stand alone Southern Promises series. When I stumbled across The Nearness of You it was a no brainer that I had to give this romance a chance too. As usual, I was far from disappointed but I realized just how much I was missing about KG Fletcher! What I do know is that KG Fletcher has a knack for creating characters you can’t help but love, they’re realistic, relatable and the kind of people you can’t help but root for.
What I’ve somehow been missing is KG Fletcher’s musical talent and the way she incorporates music and lyrics into her romance novels. I have always been someone that is drawn to the lyrics of a song so while I was looking over the amazing playlist from The Nearness of You and taking in the musical inspiration for Lauren and David’s story I was impressed to see a Cabernet act as well, incredible!
You didn’t come here for a review of the author so
I’ll get back to the point! Lauren and David’s story gripped me from the very beginning with the realistic interaction between the two of them,
Lauren’s personality is so real you feel as though you’re just observing an old friend and KG Fletcher’s attention to detail really sets the perfect tone for this story, making you feel like you’re right in the midst of everything.
The Nearness of You is the perfect combination of romance and twists and turns in all the right places, with conflict that is realistic and writing that keeps the pages turning until the early morning hours. I swear I’ve read each of these author’s books in record time, they’re the kind you just don’t want to put down. I am looking forward to reading the last two books on my to be read list by this author and I will be highly recommending the Nearness of You next time I’m asked for a book recommendation…

Lauren Rose is a lounge singer by night and a teacher of theatre students by day, she is a woman with a beautiful voice and a personality to match, she sings in the lounge of the St Regis hotel with her friend Miles on the baby grand and has people who regularly go to hear her and she sings the song that they request and it always turns her mood to the positive and this friday night is no different, that is until she bumps into David Randle on the way back from the bathroom and becomes completely star struck, after all, he is a male model and has the most gorgeous face she has ever seen, as they have a drink during Lauren’s break, she manages to form words and converse with him, but still remains utterly star struck until her break is over and she and Miles head back to the stage for the end of their set for the night, including the request from her regular and a special song for David. Afterwards, he asks if he can but her a proper drink and she agrees, they end up drinking and talking into the early hours of the morning about everything, including why he is in Atlanta in the first place and when he asks to see her again for breakfast, she cannot believe her luck and agrees to meet him.

That night, she cannot sleep from thinking about the night and the breakfast date to come, so she gives up and gets some coffee on the go, picking out an outfit, she gets ready and is at the hotel a few minutes earlier than planned, this impresses David and they walk to a local diner which serves the breakfast that David wants to try, it is a lot different to where he normally goes, but is more than happy to give it a try. Like the night before, the conversation flows and they talk more about their travels, plus more about his family and his sisters wedding and as they walk back to the hotel and she feels like their time together is coming to an end, he surprises her by asking for a kiss and wanting to see her again.

This is a continuing theme when he asks her to attend his sister's wedding and be his date and as they spend more time together and Lauren meets his sister and her now husband, they all get on like a house on fire and when David’s sister asks her to sing a song for her with the wedding band, she agrees, this is when she really shows off her voice and gets an offer for a job from the band leader at the same time. As the rest of the evening passes and they talk more in David’s hotel suite, including about the upcoming campaign and release of his own cologne, Drive, they can’t keep their hands off each other and they feel like they are meant for each other, but when a trip to New York to see David at work happens, his assistant starts to become a problem and tries to keep them apart, so when things go wrong and it is a choice between their happiness and David’s career, it is a decision neither of them want to make, but have to.

This is a whirlwind romance with a dash of celebrity while also talking about the differences between fame and obscurity, but will this tear the two apart or make them stronger? The only way to find out is to read the book.

“What more can I give to you? Whatever you want. I’ll even fly you to the moon if you should ask…”
She smiled looking up into his face, the last beautiful colors of the sunset illuminating her radiant expression. “I only ask for one thing.”
“What is it my love?”
“The nearness of you… always.”

Be still my heart… Ugh this book ripped me apart, in all the right ways. I really shouldn’t be surprised by now with K.G. Fletcher, she blows me out of the water every time with her novels. I must confess though, this one has to be my absolute favorite of hers. I think the playlist (included in the back of the novel) playing on repeat while I devoured this was just the icing on the cake for me. I would highly recommend that you play it to enhance your experience. I had a feeling I would love this when I found out it was loosely based off of one of Fletcher’s cabaret pieces but my word I had no idea just how much. If I could rate this more stars I would. It is definitely in my top ten reads of 2018!

Lauren Rose, I just loved her. She is an old soul, a lot like myself, and I could really connect with her. She is a lounge singer and has a passion for music. She wants to make it big but for now has been happy living her life in Atlanta. Everything is about to change when she meets the very handsome David Randle.

David pretty much has it all, and a bag of chips. Yup, I can’t really say much negative about this man. He is a British super-model, and a sweetheart. I’ll take three please… He had no idea what he was getting himself into when he started to fall for the girl with the dreamy voice performing at his sister’s wedding. These two are perfect together and the magic brings the music to life right off the screen of your kindle. I couldn’t put it down.

Don’t’ worry though, things are so fairytale perfect. K.G. keeps you on your toes! Things get really interesting when we meet David’s assistant Sabrina Watson. This will story will be a world wind, steamy, intriguing, and heartwarming read you won’t want to put down till you finish it in one sitting. I personally can’t wait to go back and read it again. Thanks so much for another great read K.G. Fletcher!

The Nearness of You by K.G. Fletcher is a fantastic heartwarming romantic story. I have now read several book by this author and they are fast becoming one of my favourites. Everything I’ve read of theirs so far, I have thoroughly enjoyed.
Lauren Rose is a lounge singer in a bar in Atlanta. One evening after performing a very handsome man chats with her at the bar. He is in town for his sister’s wedding. The 2 hit it off instantly and he is drawn to her in a way he has never known before. On impulse, he invites her to be his date for the wedding. It turns out that he is David Randle, top male supermodel.
The chemistry between Lauren and David is electric and they quickly realise that what they feel could really become something special. However, there is the fact that he is a top model in the UK and she lives in Atlanta. Added to the mix is David’s assistant who will do everything possible to break the couple up.
I absolutely loved the characters of Lauren and David. It was obvious immediately to me that the author’s muse for David was British supermodel David Gandy. Well, that’s because I’m a huge fan of him. It was certainly no problem in picturing him in my head while reading this story.
With everything that seemed to be in the way to stop Lauren and David having their happily ever after, I was rooting for them from the very beginning. These 2 needed each other in their lives.
I would urge anyone to read this book. You will not be disappointed.

The Nearness of You by KG Fletcher is a standalone contemporary romance that will pull you in from page one and not let go until well passed the last. Following the story of Lauren Rose and David Randall. Lauren is such a strong character, her independence and ability to overcome adversity really draws you in. When singing at her regular gig in the St. Regis Hotel, she gets to see allot of high-profile guests, but none really caught her eye until she was courted by a British supermodel after her late show. While Randall and Rose come from two completely different worlds, this seems to draw them together. While things heat up behind doors, an attraction that they can’t deny builds around them. The more time they spend together, the end of their romance seems harder to believe. When life intrudes with David’s assistant, Lauren will have to find a way to work to show this woman that she loves David for more than his work. Will this woman be the reason these two love birds can’t find happiness? Can David rise above those around him to go for the girl that stole his heart with her voice? Fletcher made this story such a great read, pulling her readers in from the get go and creating an overall amazing experience. If you are looking for an author that will sweep you away with her writing than KG Fletcher is one that you need to pick this story up. I can’t wait to see where KG Fletcher takes us next.

The Nearness of You
By: K.G. Fletcher
5 out of 5 stars

The story The Nearness of You by K.G. Fletcher is an amazingly wonderful book that I absolutely loved reading. It is one of those stories that is heartwarming and makes you believe in romance. It is a story that hooked me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had finished the last page. I loved reading about the characters of Lauren Rose and David Randle. Lauren is a lounge singer with a good heart. She is someone who is caring and does her job wonderfully. She is surprised and a bit star struck when she meets David. David is a model who is both handsome and famous. He is someone who wonders if he will find the true love that others have. Then he meets Lauren. These two have an instant connection. They find it effortless to speak with each other and their feelings/emotions for each other only grows. David has a career that makes him a public figure. His assistant Sabrina Watson is none too happy with David’s personal life intruding on his business one. How far is she willing to take her icy acceptance of Lauren? Lauren is learning about the whirlwind life that David leads and the intrusions on his personal life. Will she be able to adapt to the new world she has been introduced to? Will their love for each other be the forever that they both are looking and hoping for? Read this book to find out. This is a book that has you feeling your way through with your heart. It is one that had me with a smile on my face. It is well-written and definitely a story I would highly recommend reading.

The Nearness of You by KG Fletcher

5++++++ Stars

This author was already up in my favorites after reading her Southern Promises series, but she jumped even a few more spots after this one...I loved loved loved this book! And I can also say...I Love Love Love this author...she is completely awesome.

Everything about this story was spot on, the characters...sigh...i fell for both of them pretty quick, David turned out to be someone totally different than i thought he would be and I was so glad, he is what I love in my leading men. I so loved Lauren as well...The whole dynamic between these two worked perfectly. I am so thankful this story did not end up going the way I thought it would, although a few of the little twists and turns caught me off guard they were placed at just the perfect times throughout.

I had all the feels while reading this, and I shed a few tears in a few places. This is definitely one of my favorite reads of this year so far and its funny because another of this authors books shares a spot on that list.

Read this Im not even kidding, it is awesome and when your done go read her Southern Promises Series...definite rereads in the future for me.

One of those stories you never want to end…..

Brilliant!!

A great read about opposites. Lauren Rose is a talented singer living in Atlanta struggling to make it in the show business. One Friday night she performs in a hotel like any other night. But her life is changed forever when she meets supermodel David Randle at the gig and finds instant chemistry with him. Their passion blossoms while attending his sisters wedding, but when he returns to Britain, will their love survive the distance?
A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Lauren doing what she loves despite the struggles or David drive for ambition but a kind heart underneath. Great cast of supporting characters like the colourful and wise Jordan or the sweet and supportive Catherine. I loved the use of music in the novel with the songs used and Laurens passion for music as a lovely touch. i also loved the use of the senses with taste and smell and touch in the breakfast place to make it feel as if you were actually there. i alos loved the scenes in the wedding full of life and people and also loved the use of opposites used throughout the novel which worked well to create contrasts. Overall, a great read and i would give it four stars.

The Nearness of You is a stand-alone read from author K.G Fletcher. This is my fourth read from this author and she continues to never disappoint. She continues to astound me with her incredible characters and even better story lines. I was completely hooked and captivated with this read from the start and unable to put it down until I was finished. I can absolutely say this is by far the best book I have read by K.G Fletcher. But I still cannot wait to see what else she brings.

Both of these characters are relatable, lovable and totally perfect for each other. It was amazing to read their journey, following their ups and downs, and the obstacles that they face. But from the start, there was still something between these two that was undeniable totally perfect. Both of these characters had me swooning especially David, but come on once you read this read you will understand why.

With a few twists and turns that are thrown into the mix, this is the perfect read, amazing characters, brilliant storyline, it’s romantic, funny and an easy flowing read right from the start - it’s a book that should not be missed!

I love this author! I have read several of her books and have never been disappointed. This one is another winner. This is a love story between Lauren Rose (a lounge singer) and David Randle (a British supermodel). They meet unexpectedly while he’s in town for his sister’s wedding. They hit it off while having drinks after her gig at the St. Regis Hotel. On a spur of the moment decision, David decides to invite her as his guest to the wedding. They have instant chemistry and bond rather quickly. They are both falling hard and fast for each other and despite their conflicting schedules, decide to make a go of it.

Not everyone is happy about their budding relationship and David’s assistant Sabrina causes major problems for Lauren. I felt so bad for her. From the beginning of the book, I loved Lauren and my heart broke for her. I cried with some of the things that she had to endure. I really didn’t like Sabrina! I loved this book and found it was a quick read seeing as I couldn’t put it down.

The Nearness of You by KG Fletcher. This book is a standalone contemporary romance. As soon as I started this book, I knew I wasn’t going to be able to put it down until I was done. I got sucked into the story.

Lauren is just going about her normal routine when she runs into none other than David Randle. She is so nervous and got off guard. Then the unexpected happens. He invites her to breakfast and a wedding and they bond over their many similar interests. David can’t really explain it but he just wants Lauren around as much as possible. However, there is someone that doesn’t want Lauren around and will stop at nothing to make sure she’s not.

I really enjoyed this book. The author has such an attention to detail that makes you feel like you are living the story with the characters. David is such a gentleman and you could feel how much he cared for Lauren and her feelings. By the end of the book you could really tell what Lauren was made of and how strong and sure of herself she was. All in all, the book was such a great read!

The Nearness of You
By KG Fletcher

The Nearness of You is a wonderful heart-warming romance by KG Fletcher. This is another book that is going to grab you before the first chapter is done. What I liked about this book was how much detail the author has put into the book, with how its written you end up feeling that you actually know the characters, and you can certainly read it as a standalone. This story centres around the budding romance of David and Lauren. Lauren a budding singer meets hot David a model when he is at one of her shows. They have an instant connection, but David’s assistant is in the way and Lauren feels she has to prove to the assistant that she does in fact love David. David for his part just wants to have Lauren around and he can’t explain why it’s just the way he feels. So, if you want a book that’s going to warm the cockles of your heart this is the book for you.

The Nearness of You by KG Fletcher was so adorable. At first I kept thinking that it was a little far fetched that a regular plain Jane would meet a male model, but the story was beautifully written. It was like a fairytale movie and I was obsessed. David was thee perfect guy, thoughtful, caring, romantic and BRITISH! I really wish I had Lauren’s taste in clothing and music. Her old soul fit in perfectly with the story. The attention to the details of her dress, of the environments, of both characters was breathtaking. The author does an amazing job with her descriptions and making the reader feel like they are in the stories. I throughly enjoyed reading their love grow, they had an amazing connection. The story was a smooth and fast read. I read it in a day needing to know what would happen. I would love to read more about these characters or even of David’s sister and brother in law!

What an awesome read! The Nearness of You is A British Celebrity standalone love-at-first-sight romance novel written by K.G. Fletcher. In walks, David, a British model, who is on break from being a top model in the fashion industry. When David walks in to the lounge and discovers Lauren it was definite love at first sight. These two have an amazing chemistry and will have you sizzling! Will these two make it in the public eye? You’ll have to read to find out! The characters in this book are wonderful. They all mesh really well together. Not to mention that this story is easy to read and isn’t something that you want to put down! I have not read this author before, but I am now excited to see what else she has and future books to come!

The Nearness of You
By K.G. Fletcher
5 stars

I think that this has to be my favourite story by this author so far. I absolutely loved reading Lauren and David’s story. Lauren is one of those character who you instantly find a connection with, she is genuinely really nice and a real down to earth person. David had that British charm that I really love and I adored him! The romance between the two was so sweet and I thought that their connection was really natural and genuine. There was a bit of angst running through the story with a certain secretary!
One of the things that I love about this author is her ability to make me feel like I am right there living the journey along with her characters. Her attention to detail is amazing and she really brings her stories to life.
As always I will definitely be looking forward to the next book from this very talented author!

The Nearness of You by K.G. Fletcher was a great whirlwind romantic love story. I loved the way Lauren and David met and how they just connected.

With as connected as they were they still had their issues in the relationship, self esteem or lack of can cause so many problems. I could imagine the level of insecurity Lauren was feeling while with David.

David with his sexy British accent to go with his incredibly sexy face and body. Whew, I do wonder if the image I got matches up with what anyone else came up with.

I have read a few other books by Ms. Fletcher and she has impressed me with her stories and writing. She is quickly becoming an author I keep an eye on to see if there is anything new.
