Riding the past. digging the future

It has been 25 years since we first started scraping trails into Tod Mountain by hand. Inspired by the scene in the biking mecca of nearby Kamloops, we never imagined we were building the first stages of a world-class bike park. Over the years our trails became steeper and more technical, pushing bikes and riders to their limits.

While raw singletrack remains at the core of our riding experience, times have changed and the Sun Peaks Bike Park has become a home for all. We embrace the rowdiness that draws core riders and pro athletes here - testing themselves on infamous lines like Insanity One, Gnar-Boom, and Smitty’s Steeps - but like everyone in their mid 20's, we have gone through a period of change and growth. Our approach is 'come one, come all', as we continue our evolution, adding new trails built for every level of progression, from beginners, to berm-riders, root launchers, and ego-checkers.

Next to the original trails on Tod Mountain, a second mountain of adventure opened in 2022. Sundance Mountain is home to instant classics like Stella Blue and Super Nugget, which serve up plenty of air time, while we also took advantage of Sundance's friendlier slopes to expand our options for newer riders.

Across the valley, the Sun Peaks Recreational Trail Association (SPRTA) is the driving force behind 16km of new pedal-access, enduro style trails on our third mountain - Mt. Morrisey. This adds to the existing free-to-use trails that SPRTA has been working on elsewhere in the valley.

Join us to celebrate 25 years of Sun Peaks Bike Park. It’s all downhill from here…

WHY WE’RE DIFFERENT

Old Park. New Tricks

Expanding from our techy roots are new and improved freeride trails for all ability levels. On Tod Mountain, the 9km beginner trail Level Up changed the game, riders flock to fan favourite intermediate jump lines Canada Line and Bermalade, and the legend of Steam Shovel Lower continues to grow.

Add in Sundance, with trails packed with jumps, rollers, and berms for all ability levels, and we have a total of 17 flow trails between both mountains. There's berm rides and air time for all!

Looking to step it up a notch? Drop in and hold on. Our renowned tech trails are built to thrill with roots, rocks, drops, and rowdiness for all levels. From beginner to intermediate, advanced, and expert, we have a whopping 23 lift-access tech trails for riders to send it on. Future phases on Sundance will see the addition of singletrack tech trails in that zone too, paying homage to the original flavour of the Bike Park.

Good things take time

Our Bike Park is built for progression. Beginners will love the Progression Park, which gives even the freshest of shredders a taste of lift-access riding via an easy to use carpet lift. When you’re ready to extend your ride, take the Sundance Express to practice your skills on Easy Wind and Morning Dew, and soon the whole park will be in reach.

Around here, progression isn’t just for beginners. With an extensive network of intermediate freeride and technical trails to practice on, and some legendary advanced and expert trails to work up to, you’ll soon be turning heads all over the mountain.

THREE MOUNTAINS OF RIDING

As the Bike Park evolves, so does biking throughout Sun Peaks, with a growing network of pedal-access trails spreading across the valley. New, free-to-use trails developed by the Sun Peaks Recreational Trail Association give riders the opportunity to experience the views and lush cedar forests of Mt. Morrisey. Cedar Twist, a singletrack climb trail, provides access to the top of Morrisey, where riders can pick from several intermediate and advanced trails for a thrilling descent.
