Miami Athletes of the Week

OXFORD, Ohio â€" For their performances last week, senior pitcher Gus Graham and senior outfielder Kaitlyn Gliha Miami Athletes of the Week for the week of April 23-29.

Graham collected his second-straight complete game effort, allowing just two runs on three hits in a win over rival Ohio on Sunday. He struck out a career-high 11 and retired 20 straight batters after giving up a solo homer in the first inning. Graham recorded seven frames in which he set down the side in order. The victory upped Miami's record to 25-15 on the season, including an 11-7 mark in Mid-American Conference play. Graham improved to 4-0 on the year with the win.

This the first time this season and second time in his career that Graham has been named Miami's Male Athlete of the Week. He last won it for the week of April 11-17, 2016.

Gliha amassed a 1.143 slugging percentage as Miami took the series at Akron last weekend. Gliha went 3-for-7 (.429 avg.), including two doubles and a home run. She scored five runs for the RedHawks and picked up four RBI's and eight total bases. Gliha's on-base percentage was .600 with the addition of two walks and being hit by a pitch.

This is the first time this season and in her career that Gliha has been named Miami's Female Athlete of the Week.

The next Miami Athletes of the Week will be announced on Monday, May 7.
