The Gentleman Mentor (stand-alone, book 1) opens up to real estate agent and self-proclaimed bookworm, Brielle Gertrude, Brie spotting an ad on an internet dating site: For five long years she has been pining after her best friend Kirby, but he won’t make a move. Brie decides to hire the Gentleman Mentor to learn techniques of attracting and enticing Kirby.
Cameron Alexander Hale, Hale aka Gentleman Mentor is not looking for a series hock-up. After a heartache in his past, more to unfold with story, he enjoys tutoring women in seduction, sexual play and light BDSM.

I am a big fan of Kendall Ryan’s work. I love how her stories are so sexy and steamy with just the right amount of angst and emotion. After reading most all of her books, I think The Gentleman Mentor is my favorite of hers. I loved both the main characters, the story itself was hella entertaining and it was definitely her steamiest work yet.
Brie is an attractive, normal girl in her mid twenties. She has terrible luck when it comes to men. After having a long time crush on one of her best friends, she decides she needs some help. Help to come out of her shell and learn things that might draw him in. When she sees this add, she can’t help but be curious about this gentleman mentor and what he can do for her.
Hale, or “Dom” as he is known by his clients is taken aback by Brie when he meets her. She is not his average client. This girl is gorgeous, she’s sweet and doesn’t seem like the type of woman who would need help getting a man. Their attraction is palpable and sparks are flying between them, even at their first meeting, but Dom is determined not to let that get in the way of his ‘lessons’. He wants to help Brie break out of her shell and raise her self confidence sexually and otherwise.
The anticipation before Brie and Dom were together for the first time, then the actual sex in the book... For real. This was insanely hot. There is some light BDSM in this story, but it’s more or less just the dominance. Dom likes to be in control.
Brie is stepping so far out of her comfort zone with this man, that for the first time in her life, she feels like she’s actually living. She’s being herself, being free sexually. And the more time she’s spending with Hale, the less she is thinking about her crush. There is something about this man that entices her. She knows she only has six weeks with him, but she can’t imagine their time together ending.
This isn’t all just lessons and sex. There are some real feelings going on here. And don’t forget that big secret Dom is carrying around…
The Gentleman Mentor is the perfect combination of romance, emotion and steam. It’s different from most of Kendall’s other books, but in the best way possible. It was an easy read, once I started it I didn’t want to put it down. I loved the intense chemistry between the main characters and the growth they both showed.
This is a stand alone novel, but one of the secondary characters that I adored (Reece) will be getting his own story. Hopefully soon, I can’t wait to read it!

I was utterly blown away by how much I seriously enjoyed this story! This book sunk it's teeth into me. I devoured it and seriously thought about foregoing sleep because to me this one was unputdownable. I love when there is light BDSM in the story. Nipple clamps, whips, spreader bars, yea, those are not my idea of what is sexy. This was such a sensual read and Hale is definitely the kind of fantasy Dom I LOVE. Being blind-folded. Having your hands tied to the bed post. Getting a little spanking. Having a man who knows how to take control of your body & gives you endless orgasms???!!! Now that's my kind of Dominant Book Boyfriend!!!!
Brie has been going through a dry spell and has only been with two men her entire life. She's been secretly carrying a torch for her best friend, Kirby, but after five years of being friend-zoned, she's looking to stir something up with him. At first she is apprehensive because this is completely out of character for her, and honestly, anyone would be trepidatious about meeting a total stranger in order to get sex lessons from them. However, she feels these are desperate times and she throws caution to the wind and connects with Mr Gentleman Mentor.
The minute they both meet at a sexy Jazz club in the city, they're both pleasantly surprised at how attractive they each are. There is an instant chemistry between Brie and Hale. From the get go, Hale is very demanding and sinfully sexual. He has Brie doing things she's never done before. He has her feeling more alive and desired than she's ever felt.
Their arrangement is to last six weeks and after that time is up, they'll each go their separate ways. I was falling for Hale the moment he was introduced into the story, and I knew that Brie was in big trouble. She was instantly attracted to him and looking for love. Most of the time, it is hard for a woman to separate sex from love, especially a woman like Brie.
The sex in this book is definitely panty melting inducing. I'm going to be real and say that I've never been a fan of BJs but god damn, this book had me rethinking my take on that subject matter!! Brie finds herself being affected by the mind blowing sex with Hale and soon she is realizing that Kirby has barely even entered her thoughts since her arrangement with Hale began. She's wondering how she will be able to walk away from this beautiful man when their six weeks are up.
But Brie isn't the only one that's starting to develop feelings. Hale finds himself thinking of Brie quite a bit actually. He's even done things he has never with any of his previous clients. He's feeling possessive and even jealous at times. He has suffered great tragedy during his youth and tremendous heart break, which had led him to the world of BDSM and of becoming a Dominant for hire. He's not willing to give his heart to any woman, but the more time he spends with Brie, he realizes his life of detachment may not be all that it's cracked up to be.
Hale has some secrets that he's keeping from Brie and he also doesn't think she would ever love the real him. She's in love with the fantasy man that he's created. He ended up really pissing me off at one point and I felt like my heart was being twisted and tied up in knots for a while. I only hoped that they both would face the truth before it was too late.
I'm so very lucky to have received this ARC and believe me when I say it's a crap shoot with ARCs lately. I'm really sad that this is the only book for Hale and Brie. The next book will be about Hale's best friend Reece. And Kendall, I wouldn't mind getting that ARC too! I most definitely want to get Reece's story!! :)

This story was unique for me and it caught my attention from the very beginning. Brielle is a twenty six year old, hard worker, single woman; searching for help to try to attract her best friend that she has had a crushed on for five years. She wanted to win him over and needed help on doing so. After so many dates and failed relationships; she was giving up on love and needed guidance. Browsing the internet for dating sites she came across a very interesting ad “The Gentleman Mentor”. My first thought was “Where can I find one of those sites in my state?” haha. Ok the story. She gets nervous but she is intrigued about it and decides to give it a go.
Brielle, was just looking for help on how to be confident in the bedroom department; so she meets with her mentor in hopes that he will be of help and worth her time and money. What she didn’t know was that Mr. Mentor was a hot piece of a man. He was tall, dark messy hair, with gorgeous mocha-colored eyes, he smelled delicious and all the sudden she was instantly attracted to this man who was supposed to help her reach her ultimate goal ”to attract the love of her life.” She instantly regretted her decision because it could turn out dangerous for her due to the instant chemistry they had; however she don’t want to give up that soon and decides to put any stupid feelings aside and accomplished what she paid for.
Cameron hale, a twenty-eight year old from Chicago, had a terrible love experience that left his heart shattered and broken. He worked in a law firm and was very well known. His hobby was to be a member of an underground BDSM club in Chicago and took mentoring as a side pleasure. He took it very seriously though, after his personal experience he never wanted to get attached to the woman he trained. The minute he meets Brielle his heart skipped a bit as well. He too was instantly attracted to this woman. He couldn’t understand why she wasn’t taken yet so it made it more interesting for him to teach her. He felts like he needed to do it more so for him not for her and he was going to enjoy their six classes together as much as he could.
What started as a teacher/student kind of thing escalated very quickly for the both of them. The very first lesson was intense he wanted her and she gave herself to him like she has never before. Never in her life has she had the experience he gave her in one lesson. She couldn’t stand the feelings and emotions this man was making her have. He too wanted to stay away but he couldn’t as much as he tried he just couldn’t. However, he ends up pushing her away though before the end of their last session he gives her the best night of her life and then goes and leaves her feeling like nothing. She thought that perhaps what she was feeling was mutual but he confused her by his actions and she felt like a fool. Later though she finds out he wasn’t actually running away because he didn’t feel anything for her but because of his past. Brielle decides to find out more about him and get into his world to understand him; she realized trying to win someone’s love was foolish. The best friend she believed she was in loved with was just an illusion; in fact she realized that there was nothing she really loved about him and wasn’t sure how on earth she didn’t see it. With Hale was different she knew he felt the same for her and she was going to make him understand that she is not like the person that broke his heart. Overall this was a sweat story it was not as intense as I was expecting it to be. I enjoyed all the characters and I loved the chemistry between Hale and Brielle. They ended up together and finding true love and a second change for the both of them.

Hale is fairly stoic and resolute in his determination not to get involved with his new client but it’s easy to see just how much he’s falling for her and I found myself falling for him. Brielle is very naive and fairly lacking in sexual confidence and she could so easily have come across as an annoying doormat and it’s a fine line but Kendall Ryan does a great job of creating an engaging heroine that’s easy for us all to identify with. After all, looking back, I bet we’ve all had a few unrequited crushes over the years when the boy of our dreams hardly seems to notice us. I know I have. *Sigh* So, it’s easy to identify with her plight and follow her journey as she takes instruction from her gorgeous new dom.
Hale was just to die for – quietly commanding and impressively dominant, he’s just the kind of caring and nurturing dom I know I adore in romantic fiction. He’s a bit of a closed book to Brielle, only revealing his name by accident and keeps a lot from her and, as such, the mystery factor really adds to his appeal but all those skeletons in the closet will come tumbling out at the most inopportune moment and will this destroy any burgeoning happiness that they have?
This was a great series opener and, even though I really loved Brielle and Hale, there’s a few hints of what’s to come in the second book in this series with Hale’s best friend and BDSM club owner Reece and Hale’s little sister Macey. I’m very excited to read that one! So if you enjoy a very sensual BDSM lite romance with a dom to die for and a sweet, slightly naive heroine, this one will definitely work for you.

The author shows the lifestyle of her Dominant hero by using key phrases and terms. I enjoyed this element but more so I enjoyed the exploration of all aspects of Hale's history.
The themes and sentiment of the story are lovely with some truly beautiful elements in the prose and dialogue. Bdsm is a running theme but is not explored to extremes so will appeal to most romance readers who like their pages laced with erotic steam without pushing their boundaries to the edge. The story felt comfortable to read and everything happens at a fairly rapid pace. The events are somewhat predictable, but this provides a certain level of satisfaction to a reader. For my personal taste I would've preferred a slower development so I could feel and experience a deeper intense emotion from the story and the characters.
The premise captured my attention, and the easily likable characters entertained me throughout so this for me is an I LIKED IT 3 stars. It was a very pleasant way to while a way a few hours in the world of make-believe.

Brielle is a girl with lack of confidence, unsure how to deal with love and relationships. Having a crush for a guy for a few years she decides that now’s the time to do something about it.
So she decides to hire the services of the Gentleman Mentor, a guy like as the name says, helps women become more sexually confident. He he’s sexy, mysterious, with dominant traits and Brielle is taken aback by him from the start. But so does him.
It is supposed to be just a job… but then everything starts to change.
This was a romantic and steamy reading. I don’t know if this is supposed to pass as an forbidden romance, but I didn’t feel it was. There was some “not advisable” about their relationship, but nothing more.
There was some aspects I was unsure about, like the “house scene” that I felt it had no purpose, but I liked the twist. I’ve read people saying it was predictable, well, it wasn’t for me and I liked being surprised.
Overall, this was a well written book, the chemistry between the characters believable. SO if you like steamy romance stories, this is a good choice.

***2 It's Just Me Stars***
Looks like this is another case of "it's just me," as a lot of people seemed to have liked this one. Unfortunately, it didn't really work for me.
I'll keep my review nice and short. This was "insta" almost everything right from the beginning. And while the MC's were able to go from 0 to 60 with their feelings of possessiveness and attraction, I was still hanging out at the starting line. I just never felt ANY connection between them...well, none beyond the obvious...
There was no spark, no sizzle....nothing. Everything from the dialogue, to the sex, to the dirty talk, to the progression of the story felt forced, mechanical and formulaic. I had zero emotion while reading this book and didn't feel even slightly affected when the big "twist" was revealed, which you realize way before then.
But like I said, many seemed to have liked it, so this may just be me.

Kendall Ryan is an auto-buy for me. I love how her stories are quick and sexy, and the characters lovable. I was so excited to read Gentleman Mentor because it is so different from her other books and I wasn't disappointed!
Brie has everything going for her, but she is in love with her best friend. Somehow she ended up in the friend zone and she desperately needs out of it. At her wits end, she decides to hire The Gentleman Mentor. He promises to educate her in the art of seduction and in turn help her be more confident.
Hale is The Gentleman Mentor and a successful attorney. The Gentleman Mentor is his side job, but he takes great pride and enjoys helping woman learn about themselves.
As I was saying this story is so different than what I expected. I obviously expected a hot, sexy read and Kendall definitely delivered. But it was also sweet and endearing. I loved seeing Hale and Brie get to know each other. Their relationship wasn’t one of insta-love, it progressed gradually. Brie was looking to finally get the attention of her crush and Hale isn’t looking for a relationship, but life doesn’t always go according to your plan.
Brie is such a realistic heroine. She is focused, determined and loyal to a fault. My heart really felt for her. She fell in love with her best friend years ago and she is still living in that haze. The Gentleman Mentor is able to help her discover who she is and what she wants.
Hale is the perfect hero. He doesn’t push his own agenda on Brie. He genuinely wants to help her. He doesn’t believe in her cause, but he knows he can help her grow and be more confident, regardless.
I love the twists and turns, it was fun to see how things unfolded. I didn’t see everything coming and I loved the surprises. I highly recommend this story. The Gentleman Mentor is a fantastic read, filled with heart, sexiness and the perfect amount of angst. Additionally, I cannot wait to read Reese’s story. I can already tell this series will be tons of fun!

Cameron Hale was successful in his professional life. In his other life, he was a Dom and chose to impart his knowledge to women who needed them. He always saw them as nothing more than a clients that he would forget the moment the last lesson was completed. Brie was supposed to be just another client and Hale was just supposed to be the mentor. But things turned complicated when emotions were pushed in the mix.
Before reading this book, I was expecting a lot of spanking and whipping but it wasn’t the case at all. The Gentleman Mentor was very light on the BDSM element, but it was heavy on the hotness!
Hale was certainly a panty-melting hero. He was an alpha but one with a good heart. His past was the thing that paved his path as a sex mentor.
Brielle was likeable. Though there were a lot of times I wish she valued herself more and I’m glad she did at one point.
Hale and Brie had good chemistry. The sexy scenes were sensual and not overdone. I like how a lot of times it was emotional for either or both of them because they were both trying to fight the undeniable attractions.
The storyline was simple and straight to the point. I wish there were more issues/conflicts. There were a few but it was too brief and resolved too easily.
Also, there were a few secrets that were too easily revealed. As a reader, I like to figure things out on my own.
Overall, The Gentleman Mentor was sexy and fun with a little sprinkle of BDSM to spice things up.

Not getting that title...
This review has a wee bit of spoilerage so please proceed with caution.
I started this book with high expectations, expecting a really HOT, controlling and dominant man teaching a slightly nerdy girl how to get her groove on. What I got was a man trying to hide feelings behind meaningless sex with women who are willing to pay him for the pleasure of learning how to orgasm...generally speaking. I was then introduced to a striking woman who is a real estate agent in love with one of her best friends. She approaches The Gentleman Mentor (still not getting the title) to learn how to be more appealing to her friend. When Dom meets Briella there is an instant attraction between the couple, but what would normally make me feel like this is a good start was pushed back because it became a business arrangement. He puts up his calm facade so she doesn't get any ideas about him and she battens down her hatches because she can see the potential for her feelings getting hurt.
My main problem with this story was that I didn't want them to have feelings for each other. To start a relationship that is all about sex with no emotions is too clinical for me. To have a dominant and submissive relationship where trust is so integral, shouldn't be started with emotions left at the door.
Some of the sex scenes were definitely steamy, but I struggled to connect with the character which left the scenes a little flat. We get plenty of bossiness from Dom and Brie, who starts the story with an "I'm not a submissive" mentality, soon follows his instruction without question.
We're led to believe that Dom has more than one intimate arrangement going at the same time. This did not leave me with warm and fuzzies, especially considering no protection was used between the couple. Health checks were performed before the relationship starts, but he does not inform her whether she is the only one he is having sex with, so it seems the tests are irrelevant. It's not on in more than one way and not the least bit gentlemanly.

Sadly for me I was a little underwhelmed. It was a well written story with an interesting theme, but maybe I'm getting too old for the emotionless sex storylines that magically turn into love.

The Gentleman Mentor is a short, fast and super sexy read. I can’t stress how sexy this book is. There’s a lot of steam.
I liked Brielle, I found her adorable, kind of strong and very interesting. I liked how she truly wants help and is willing to play the game. She is nervous meeting Hale, but she’s in such a rut, she’s willing to do anything to get out of it. The poor girl hasn’t had sex in four years!
And there’s Hale. Sigh. I love Hale. He’s a Dominate and he likes to be in control. He keeps women at arm’s length and only plans on six dates with Brielle. The kink level is fairly mild in this one, as much as Hale loves BDSM. I think Kendall is going to bring up the intensity level in the next one.
The relationship between Brielle and Hale is insta-lust at first. Brielle works on not getting attached with Hale and Hale continues to keep Brielle at distance. Hale has past issues and as we read I liked finding out what happened to him and why he acts the way he acts.
Overall, The Gentleman Mentor hit all the right spots. If you are looking for a fun, sexy short read, then this one is for you.

What was lacking for me was the connection between the characters. I would have liked to have had more depth in their relationship, their personal struggles, and more background on both of them. Additionally, the time lapses were a tad distracting. I wanted to know what was happening in between their encounters. Where was their thought process and transformation? I feel that the plot was solid and the dialogue was fluid however, I wanted more developed conflict and a bigger build up to the resolution, as opposed to everything working out so smoothly in the end. If you are looking for a BDSM light read with a sexy hero and some smokin' sex scenes than don't wait...load this baby on your kindle today!

Brie is a 26 years old girl who has a crush on one of her male best friend. Since she’s not very good at the whole ‘dating thing’ she decides she needs some extra help. This was my first book by this author, so I didn’t know what to expect, especially with this blurb. Well, I’m glad to say I really enjoyed it. It was sexy, easy to read and very entertaining. I liked both main characters; both of them are really likeable. I liked the fact Brie knows what she wants and her ‘transformation’ was believable. Hale was intriguing from the beginning and sexy as fuck. He’s confident and a little arrogant, but not too much to be annoying. I loved his vulnerable side and the way he is with Brie. Their chemistry was palpable and off the charts and the sex scenes are sensual and so hot. I enjoyed the light BDSM and even the scenes at that BDSM Club.
Overall, a great sexy read!

I had high hopes for this book. When I read the blurb I was sold. But truth be told, I can be a picky reader. Most times a blurb will sell me on a novel and then I'll go to read it and be left underwhelmed at best. It happens more often that not. That was NOT the case with this. God, I'm still buzzing. I can actually feel myself tingling just writing this review.
I can't even explain it, to say that I enjoyed it wouldn't even come close.

I haven't read that much by Kendall Ryan, but that is going to change. I have to say I enjoyed this steamy little novel by Ms. Ryan.
Brielle is tired of being seen as just a friend to Kirby. So she decides to take her future into her own hands and answers an add to get help from The Gentleman Mentor. She's hesitant at first because she's not a submissive, but knows if she doesn't take him up on this offer she may never get the guts to again.
Hale, also known as "The Dom," answers Brielle's request. After a few exchanged emails Hale decides to accept her request and help her. They agree to meet up at a local jazz bar. When they see each other there's immediate attraction.
They agree to work together for six weeks. Any time more than that and from experience Hale knows that the subs could fall for him and he can't have that. He's just a mentor. The sex between these two is HOT! Just enough BDSM to melt your panties ladies. Eventually though real feelings develop between them, but they aren't sure how to handle it. And there's also the fact that Hale is carrying a big secret. Hale fears Brielle may not be able to love him for his true self once she learns everything about his past.
I can't wait for the next book in this series, The Dominant. This is going to be Reece and Macey's story. Macey just happens to be Hale's sister so that should be very interesting.

3 #Uh... No STARS!
I was intrigued with this book. This is my first time read Kendall Ryan's books. I couldn't resist BDSM themes and I found the title and curiosity killed the cat. But in the end, it didn't work for me.
Brielle wants to explore her sexual experience with contact thedominantgentleman, Hale. She has secretly in love with her friend, Kirby for five years and she doesn't have confidence for herself. Hale help her with BDSM lifestyle and the experience into submission to turns her into desirable woman.
The relationship between Brielle and Hale seems too rush in the end. I didn't feel the chemistry between them. There was no significant development between the characters. Suddenly, they fell in love each other just didn't make sense for me because he's being a gentleman. Melted? Yes, Love? Nope. Insta-love between two person who just met didn't move me.
Overall, the story was beyond wayyy too romantic for me. I didn't expect it to be that diabetics. It was predictable where it leads. Everything was so tame. There is just a little twist in the end but it didn't really matter. The dirty talk, BDSM, and sex feels so 'scripted' without intimacy. For me, that's not even BDSM beside kinky sex with a man who need control because his past *shrugs* Recommended? Maybe it will work for you who wanna try to read light BDSM with romantics.

With a fun and sexy premise, I flew through the pages of this book. If the Gentleman Mentor was still in business I would definitely shoot him an email!
Brielle was a timid, shy bookworm looking for a major confidence boost and some help to move out of the friend-zone when she stumbled upon the Gentleman Mentor. She was looking to take control of her life and that’s exactly what he offered, in the form of a sexual mentor. Brielle really grew as the story progressed, she definitely developed more confidence and she thrived under the attention.
The Gentleman Mentor/Dom/Hale/Cameron was a very self-assured hero and his domineering nature was totally sexy. I really liked that Hale and Brielle didn’t go into full-on BDSM. He was very clearly in charge of all their sexual encounters but the whips and chains never came out to play. Where Brielle grew in confidence, Hale grew emotionally. He was able to open himself up more and we were able to glimpse more about him and his past.
There were a few times when I felt like Brielle should have made Hale "work for it” more but I feel like that may have been lost in a few of the time jumps we experienced. I think I was anticipating a bit more angst/drama in the book so the ease with which it ended seemed a bit fantastical to me. However, in comparison with the tone of the entire book, it was fitting.
This was a great intro to Ms. Ryan, and I can't wait to get my hands on Reece's book! Older brothers best friend? Sign me up!

Too bad there wasn't any process for Brie to trust in to begin with...
Brie is a 26 year old woman who has trouble finding the one... She thinks she's in love with her best friend, Kirby, and she's determined to get any help she can find in order to seduce him. Enter Hale, aka Dom.
Hale calls himself the "Gentleman Mentor". He's into light BDSM, nothing hard core which annoyed the hell out of me, not because I like to read about BDSM but because either you're into something or you're not. I wasn't getting any dom vibes from him at all, just some occasional spanking here and there and the whole sub-kneeling-before-i-enter process. This is all the BDSM we're getting with this book. Oh, and and lets not forget the you-are-not-allowed-to-come BS.
All I'm saying is if someone pays you in order to get the submissive experience, you should give them the fucking submissive experience!
Unfortunately i wasn't able to connect with neither Hale or Brie, so i couldn't care less if they would end up together or not. I'm not saying that this was a bad book in general, I'm pretty sure plenty of people will enjoy its lightness and smuttiness, as i did. But when i reached the end all i got was this feeling of indifference, which to me is the worst! I'd rather hate a book than be left with a "meh" feeling after I'm done with it.

What a waste of time!
I was so disappointed with an unreasonable plot and the protagonists whom I couldn’t care less about. The whole story didn’t grab me at all so I might be in the minority here. I was completely bored during the first three quarters, the remaining pages were a disaster, and the ending was the final nail in the coffin for me!
Brielle was secretly in love with her male friend for five years. She thought it was time to get his attention and win his heart. The problem was she didn’t know how to start it so she decided to get some sex lessons (!?) and that led her to meet Hale, The Gentleman Mentor.
From the above, it sounded like she was shy, self-conscious, and didn’t have much experience with men. But wait! As I read on, I found out that she wasn’t what I first thought.
She wasn’t shy because she didn’t feel modest or apprehensive when Hale first saw her naked.
She wasn’t socially inept because she could flirt with strangers naturally.
She didn’t have orgasm problems because when Hale put his fingers inside her, she could come easily and intensely.
She was good at blow job because she gave Hale mind-blowing one without any guidance from him!
So, please tell me! How in the hell did she think she needed a sexual mentor?! Oh, she didn’t need help! She only wanted to have sex!
Hale (thought he) was sexually dominant. He wanted his women to be submissive all the time. He never wanted love relationship because of his tragic past. But when he met Brielle, he had an uncontrollable, strong attraction toward her.
Well, I expected intense BDSM and Dom/Sub sex scenes but I couldn’t find any! I don’t understand why the author had to build up this Dom/Sub in the first place because finally, it failed to deliver!
The most annoying thing about this story was that Brielle let Hale f**k her and then paid him for his services! In my opinion, he wasn’t a sexual mentor, he was a whore!
