CATCH A LEPRECHAUN

An Online Project for Primary Grades to Connect, Collaborate, and Design

#LUCKATW2018

Part I

Read about a Leprechaun’s life to learn what he likes.  Read closely, there are clues about things that might help attract him to your trap.  There are five posts that Luck has written to share about himself.

Luck E. Leprechaun’s Blog “Luck’s Blog”

*Note: Luck has just updated his blog for the 2018 season.  He’s been in Texas shopping for a cowboy hat!

Part II

Design a trap that will humanely trap the Leprechaun.  We don’t want to harm him, but we DO want to attract him.  Set the trap out before the end of school on March 16 and let’s see what happens…

Part III

When you return to school on March 17 (or after break), look around your school for evidence.   Photograph the evidence and write a blog post about it.  NOTE: If you find a leprechaun, be sure to get a photo of him.  Careful, it’s widely known that Leprechauns are VERY hard to photograph.

Visit the Federal Bureau of Leprechaun Scene Investigations, also known as LSI, files.   NOTE: Only those signed up for the project will have access to edit and add a page for their class.  We want to keep the content safe for our students.

You may also write a blog post on your classroom blog and share the link on a Google slide, or write a post as a class.  Students from all over will be checking out the LSI blog to see what type of sightings have happened.  In your post, please include the following:

  1. Your State
  2. Your Current Weather
  3. A Photo of the View Out Your Classroom Window (just for fun!)
  4. Evidence of Leprechaun’s Visit

Thanks for joining in our project to Catch a Leprechaun! Good luck.
