In the wake of last night's Presidential Election,a number of photos have begun to circulate of ballot papers that don't make all that much sense.

You see while we know now that Donald Trump is the new president of the United States, there were several other famous faces who people would have rather taken on the job.

This is due to the fact that incertain states there is a 'write-in' section, in which you simply add any name as your vote.

So of course there were a select few who decided Selena Gomez…

Harry Styles…

And Haramabe, the gorilla who was shot dead in Cincinnati Zoo, would do a better job than any of the other possible candidates…

There's even a tweet circulating claiming that 11,000 voted for the now deceased animal, except it's really not that simple.

As pointed out by Buzzfeed, for your write-in vote to actually count the candidate would needed to of filed paperwork way in advance to allow their ballots to be tallied.

So unless Harambe's ghost is doing things we thought were physically impossible, a whole load of people just went and wasted their right to vote.
