NewsHeliPursuit is a script modification that allows you to have a news helicopter follow your pursuits. After a certain time period (configurable in the INI file) a news helicopter is dispatched and will follow the pursuit you are engaged in.

NewsHeliPursuit allows you to customise the model and the livery of the helicopter that is dispatched to your pursuit in the INI file. The download contains a pre-built news helicopter livery that you can install. The default INI file is set to accommodate this by default.

Installation Instructions are provided in the readme. Requires RPH 0.36 or higher. Please read the credits for full acknowledgements.

    May be possible, but probably really hard to combine that view with driving. I don't think it would be very practical, but I do like the idea.

    Mhm, something nice, I can just take the call, and follow on, stop, then switch to that view and record for my viewing later. ;)

    Isn't it the polmav the heli used for backup purposes? If I install this model I can't call the air backup with the police heli correct?

    Ya you can. This is only a specific livery.

    You could set it so when you switch to the heli view, the AI takes over driving your character/vehicle, so you don't have to drive. I think you may already have some code that is capable of doing something like that... ;) 

    When you switch back out of the heli view, release control back to the player.

    To be fairly honest I wouldn't trust the AI to drive for me, even for an heli view.

    Very interesting Idea here.  I agree with the others here,  would be really cool to perhaps a button press just to switch camera angles during a chase from the new heli back to your car for example.  Or have the New Heli hang around for about 15 more seconds or so after the chase, then you can switch to that camera to get a birds eye view of what the outcome looks like from the sky.   Would make for some kick ass video episodes ;)

    I'm not into that kind of stuff, sorry. Ive just added instructions to the ini as I was told. Check the credits for the model authors - you can ask them.

    If you didn't install the new model you'll have to install it.

    If you did, but have other models installed, you may have to change the livery number in the INI file (subtract 1 for the code starts counting at 0).

    @Albo1125 - yet again another fantastic mod.

    Very user friendly, really like that you always include .ini with your scripts as I (and I'm sure lots of others) like changing variables that change the in game behaviour.

    can we have more than one livery for the news copter? so randomize the livery between 1 and another one?

    put it in patchday3ng or in the more recent patchday folder you can find where polmav is present, so it overrides the previous polmav present in x64e

    I installed last night and was just about to get in a pursuit when another plugin crashed. It was too late so it will have to wait until after work tonight. Are you from Seattle. Eyewitness news channel 7?
