This is the 2nd one I have purchased for my son (8 yrs old/size 7 shirt/size 7/8 pant, slim). He outgrew the one from last year which got a lot of use out of it living in the PNW, especially during spring baseball season! I just purchased this new one for this year in size 7/8 which is a perfect fit with a bit of room to grow. I love the charcoal/granite gray color and love how the hood folds up into a zipper compartment. The stuff sack is great too for travel and packs small and light. Its nice that they make these with a bit of length to them as well for those rainy windy days where it rains sideways. I have 2 of the Trespass rain jackets myself in adult size and my friends do as well. They are great for layering in the fall PNW rainy days and I use mine when snowshoeing as well. You can't go wrong, highly recommend!

But for serious rain use I would look elsewhere. The jacket we ordered was big for my son yet the stowaway hood didn't fully cover his head. The jacket does pack small though and it's light. It does have a left hand zippe rif that's a concern.

It was easy to get in and out of the packing pocket. The torso was a bit wide while the sleeves were short, so it went back.
