Three Loving Words

Rate this book
I hate you. I heard those words so many times from his mouth that they lost their meaning. His “three loving words” is how I mockingly referred to them. It didn’t bother me, though, because I hated him, too.

He was gorgeous, with dark tousled hair, full lips, a strong jaw, and a body deserving of a magazine cover. He was rich and cared for his mother deeply. On paper, he was the perfect husband. The problem? He was my husband.

I dreamed of a fairytale love story for as long as I could remember. I dreamed of a boy to fall head over heels for me and treat me like the sun rose and set at my feet, especially after living in the shadow of my perfect sister and never feeling good enough for my family. When I decided to earn my parents’ love in a dramatic fashion, I’ll admit that I never imagined marrying him would end up part of the bargain.

The kicker? Enzo Faust didn’t want to marry me, either. And yet, here we are, a man that I both fear and loathe is my “I do…for better or worse.” I just didn’t anticipate that it’d be more ‘worse’ than ‘better.’

I’m Paige Stiles, and here’s my story.

Paige is 18 years old. She just finished high school and was planning on starting her life now. Going to college - fall in love with Prince Charming in a few years and have her dream wedding and her dream life.

Because up until now, her life was lived in the shadow of her older sister ...

Not that her parents didn't love her, or that she wasn't the perfectly behaved daughter...but everything her sister did was always better and she was just never noticed and appreciated all that much.

But before her new life can even start...it all comes crashing down...

Her Dad owes lots of money to his 'former' best buddy Gerry and Paige sees this as her only chance to ever do something for her family that her sister couldn't.

She goes to talk to Gerry and beg for him to release her Dad of his debt and let her take over.

She doesn't really know what she will do to pay back all that money, but she wants to do it for her family.

Only Gerry doesn't want her money - he wants her...not in a creepy pedo kind of way - but ... as a wife for his son Enzo.

The worthless, partying, whoring idiot of a guy - who should be working for his dad and planning on taking over the family business one day. But instead only uses his Dad's money.

And the money will stop coming, if he doesn't agree to marry Paige.

The two of them know each other - they've been friends when they were little kids, but that was ages ago - they haven't seen each other in years...and the first meeting after all this time, destroys what little hope Paige had left of her dream-life.

He is horrible good-looking...but....

description

...the first words he says to her are: I HATE YOU.

And that's basically the only three words she hears from him for the next few years.

They move into their own house and try to live with each other. Both hating the other for being in this position.

There are very bad moments, but also some not-so-bad ones....even some good ones...

But as the time passes and there's still so much hate between them..... should Paige still hope for a happy future???

What will happen to Paige & Enzo?
Will there be a HEA?
Will everybody die at the end? o.O
Or will there be a horrible Cliffhanger?

description

I'm not telling you that of course ...☺

description

I don't want to spoil anything ☺ Ok - no Cliffhanger - it's a stand-alone Romance!

When I started reading the book, I had no idea what to expect.

From reading the blurb....I was a tiny little bit afraid that I wasn't going to like the story.

But I loved it!

It was a really great New Adult Romance.

In the beginning of the book Paige is 18 and Enzo is 20.

And Paige had no bigger wish than to one day have her dream wedding with her dream guy...

That was so not what happened here - at least in the beginning...

She even wore a black dress to her fake wedding ☺

I love-hated Enzo.

He was such an ass to Paige most of the time....

But the best part of the book is that we get to hear the story from both their POVs, so we hear what he thinks of this whole situation too.

Of course at first he hates her, because he thinks she's best buddies with his dad and wanted to marry him.

But he also notices how horribly attracted he is to her and how he actually likes her...but he just can't show it to her. As soon as they're in a room together, something inside him makes him be mean to her.

I loved how we finally see signs that mayyyybe this marriage could one day be a real one.

But of course it takes them a long while to get there - if they get there at all - I'm not spoiling anything ☺

description

The tiny little things I didn't like?

Just unimportant stuff like Enzo's name...Enzo?? Sounds like a really old italian grandpa ☺

And like in all of DC's books - we don't have a real location for the story. She never says in which city or state we are - and I like to know that when I read a book.

Three Loving Words was a sad & frustrating & moving, but also a really cute & sexy & adorable New Adult Romance ☺ ♥ I LOVED IT ♥

You know what all the characters in this book need? A goooood dose of growing up and a healthy round of therapy. No one is sane, and of course not of sound mine. Their decisions made in the course of the story are strong reflections of that.

The premise of the book intrigued me - I for sure thought it would be mafia-related (especially with the protagonist's name being Enzo) - and I love me some good mafia story. I'm always looking for more. Imagine my surprise when it was the furthest thing from what I had expected.

Why is it, that whenever an arranged marriage is the main plot of the story, the female protagonist is a fucking doormat? You can have a backbone and stand up for yourself. There's always a choice and always a way out, somehow. These characters just don't see anything else and are not capable of much else besides martyrdom. I don't get it, and it just pisses me the fuck off. Paige tried to come across as strong and with a spine, but her actions show she's anything but.

At the beginning of the story, Paige is 18 and Enzo is 20. I don't understand how and why parents would get their children married at that age. They're not even fucking legal to drink, but they're being saddled with the responsibility of marriage? Early 20s is young, but this is practically child marriage. It makes some sense in the mafia world - but the vast majority of the mafia books I've read, the characters are married off in their 20s, not when they're practically children. Or if they are that young, there's some maturity to them. There was literally not an ounce of maturity - in any of the characters - throughout the entire duration of the book. Why, dear god, oh why would you allow these punk shitheads to get married when they're barely out of their fucking diapers? I just didn't fucking get it.

And OMFG DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE FUCKING DESCRIPTION IN THIS BOOK! THERE ARE WHOLE CHAPTERS WITH NO DIALOGUE WHATSOEVER, JUST PLAIN DESCRIPTION. LITERALLY PAGES UPON PAGES OF LONGASS PARAGRAPHS WITH NOTHING BUT DESCRIPTION REITERATING WHAT HAS ALREADY BEEN SAID. I MAY BE DUMB IN SOME THINGS, BUT I REALLY DON'T NEED THE SAME THINGS BEING TOLD BY TWO POVS. THAT'S JUST EXCESSIVE.

Moral of the story - if you're a shithead just cruising through life, you're going to be married off to some insecure little girl. And you're going to continuously cheat on her for years. And one day, miraculously, you're going to do a fucking 180 and be completely, unequivocally, and irrevocably in love with her after treating her worse than shit for the past however many years. Yeah, makes total fucking sense.

I basically didn't like anything in this story, but for some morbid and masochistic reason, I soldiered on. Lesson for me: I shouldn't torture myself with a book if I can't get into it and all my emotion were negative early on.

============
4 years treating her like crap and fucking other women in the room next to hers, inside their house.
He's a big asshole.
I could not swallow it.
She is a doormat and wanting to please her parents in any way, even sacrificing herself in a marriage of convenience.
Her sister is a selfish bitch.

***THREE AND A HALF STARS***

Whew! I love an asshole hero, but I wasn't sure Enzo was ever going to become a likable guy. He was such a vicious prick through the majority of the story. Thankfully he finally came around towards the end and I actually truly liked the guy. Good story if you can stand a hateful asshole hero through a majority of the story.

I really have no idea how to rate this book. #TheStruggleIsReal

The first part of the book was a torture. After "wedding night" part I was shocked! It is an attempt to rape. Just because he is someone's husband doesn't mean it wasn't rape.

In their wedding night, Enzo forces himself on Paige -who is virgin by the way- (I hear you're saying 'of course' ) and he stops himself when he really understands that she doesn't want him.
After that Paige stand up for herself and says stuff that I really liked. She keeps saying that all rapists would think their victims want them, that just because they are married it isn't normal. She keeps saying she hates him. So far, good for her!

After that night Enzo brings different girl every night to his room. Which is gross! He is having sex while his wife is in the next door. Ok, they are only married on paper but it is just, ugh! I can't even! Go have sex somewhere else dude!

And the part irritated me the most: Paige keeps telling that she hates Enzo. And she thinks that they can't divorce(which why I still didn't get it). But she tries to make Enzo jealous. Why? Why would anyone do this for a man she claims to hate? She uses her friend to make Enzo jealous for four years! Dumb, right? They go on their four years of marriage is like this.

And then there is love! After all that things Enzo claims that he loves his wife after everything happened to her Paige decides that she loves her husband. The tricky thing about that book is that I believed their love. He groveled so hard for her. He lost the most precious thing for him yet he still didn't give up. He tried to win her back. He tried so hard. This is the part that I liked about this book.

Yet, unlike Paige, I was aware of the fact he tried to rape her, he brought girls to their house and fucked them while his wife was next door. Since I still didn't get over these facts even the most perfect groveling I've read wasn't enough for me.

If the author didn't present these things, even just soften them (I mean no rape attempt) it would have been an amazing book. But the first parts was the bummer. And maybe I'm really sensitive about this kind of subjects (wish everyone cared about this-this much thou) I didn't like the book generally.

Review by Jen Hagen

Imagine being almost 18 years old and thinking you have your entire life in front of you…graduation, college, meeting the boy of your dreams, having your fairytale wedding, and starting a family together – only to suddenly have your dreams changed and in return you are forced to marry a man you not only have never dated, but you don’t even like.

I hated Enzo. Pure and Simple. I was going to marry a man I loathed. Great. Just Great.

Paige and Enzo are forced into their marriage. I’m sure you’re wondering how in this day and age anybody can be forced into marriage – that’s something that happened eons ago-- but Paige is doing something she feels will save her family and for once put the spotlight on her and not her older sister. Her plan sounded good at the time but she could not know that Enzo is an ass…there’s absolutely no way to sugarcoat that. Enzo is 20 years old and had been living the life of a rich playboy and he maintains those ways in the home that he shares with his wife. Oh yes, that was unbelievably tacky and wrong, but yet so right to read! Paige and Enzo may have several differences but they at least share their mutual dislike for one another.

If you haven’t figured it out just how much I hated her, I’ll say it again. I hated her.

These two love to get under each other’s skin. They love to let the other one know how much they are hated. They don’t interact at all unless they are forced to be seen out in public and then they put on a false happily-married pretense for their families. Behind the doors of their lavish home they resume their separate lives. Paige is a strong, independent woman and will not take anything that she did not earn. She wants to continue her education, but will not take Enzo’s money. Her funds are low, but she is awarded a scholarship and immediately I could sense this had Enzo written all over it. This begins a gradual change in my perception of Enzo. He actually can be soft hearted and caring, but those moments are few and far between. Paige is feisty and loves to stir the pot, so when the opportunity to turn the tables on Enzo arises she uses it to her advantage.

Paige was making me go crazy. If I hadn’t known better, I’d say I was jealous, but I didn’t get jealous, and I certainly didn’t get jealous over Paige. It was a matter of principal. It had to be because I didn’t know why else I was reacting this way.

Four years have gone by and they are still despising each other…notice I did not say hate each other. Feelings are starting to evolve and they aren’t quite so jaded with the hate that they once felt for each other. They have had some tender, caring moments between them mostly when Paige has needed to be comforted. Yes, Enzo has a soft side and he has made it clear that he takes care of what is his and Paige is his. This means being a shoulder for her to cry on, but then telling her to suck it up and move on! Eventually Enzo and Paige seem to realize that they don’t have it so bad with each other and that each one of them has redeeming qualities. Perhaps it’s time to put their differences aside since it is apparent they are stuck in this marriage. Once the hatred is erased from their lives, it is replaced with love.

“I don’t expect you to me in return, at least not yet, but I will earn that love. In the meantime, let me love you enough for both of us…”

Can you believe that Enzo said that? This is the same guy who replaced his “I do” vows with “I hate you.” The story has more than just Enzo and Paige falling in love with each other, there is heartbreak that adds to the storyline giving it much more depth. I enjoyed seeing Enzo come to terms with his feelings for Paige and since the story was told from dual POV, Enzo gives his voice quite frequently.

This is my third novel by the author, and with every book the author adds more angst and extra layers to the story. I am always fascinated by an author who can take a character that is despised from the beginning and give him redeeming qualities, and that is what she has done with Enzo. He went from an unforgiveable monster to a loving man who is capable of having his heart broken.

Absolutely wanted to smash Enzo's face the whole time... IMO, he did not, in any way, shape or form make up for being the HUGE d*ck he was at the start... Paige wasn't any better...

Honestly I had such high hopes but nothing good came :(

This is one of those times where I feel like the story could have had potential but just didn’t quite make it up to par. It has a storyline that I love—marriage of convenience and enemies to lovers.

The enemies to lovers could have been so good but it fell flat. I had to keep reminding myself that these characters were pretty much children. 18 and 20, respectively—with years going by in the novel.

Not only is the hero extremely condescending but he’s a hypocrite! A lazy, good for nothing hypocrite that fucks women constantly in the same house he shares with the heroine, his wife! Surprisingly that didn’t bug me half of much as his double standards did. I’m all for EQUAL opportunity. If he can fuck whomever he wants, the heroine should get to as well.

Of course, she doesn’t. So whatever.

Disappointed...spoilers ahead

I would give this zero. The H is a cheating, abusive, and mentally unstable. He thinks he can just use his dad money and it's his also. Oh yeah he doesn't want to get a job or go to school cuz he's too good/smart. The storyline was about the h sacrificing herself to pay off her father's debt by marrying the H. 50% of the book they hated each other. They have been married for 3 years and still nothing changed. The H brings women home to screw while the h is in her room. Even when the H started having feelings for the h, he still cheats. I hated the H at this point. The worst part is that he doesn't think anything wrong with his cheating. Another, the female did not get even at all. I wish there was a love triangle where the h found a better guy than the a...hole. The female was given a pretend boyfriend who had a girlfriend already to make the H jealous. Unbelievable storyline and I could not connect with the story and the characters. Unrealistic plot. Don't recommend this book. Do not waste your time and money. I want my money back.

Marriage of convenience- LOVE IT
Forced marriages- LOVE IT
Possessive hero -LOVE IT
vergin bride -LOVE IT
playboy groom - LOVE IT

THIS BOOK HAS EVERYTHING THAT I LOVE BUT STILL I DID NOT LIKE IT
THE REASONS ARE:

1) There was no proper story........
2) There were way too many leaps
3) The couple has just one or two incidents every year and in the next line the author writes"this routine goes on for a year" and takes a leap
4) They were just leap frogging and nothing was happening and all of a sudden they fall for each other after soooo many years of marriage
5) I thought the story was going to end and all of a sudden they have a fight
6) All of a sudden they get separated
7) The hero gets drunk and the heroine gets miserable
8) The story was like never ending........
9) The book was just portraying the day to day life of a couple and lack of story was a major issue for me

I would recommend this book to people who really like simple love stories without a lot of drama or intimacy or any other X factor

Wasn't sure

I wasn't sure how I would feel as this went on as Enzo was a jerk. Paige thought she was clearing her father's debt. So she agrees to marry Enzo to clear the debt as she feels she also is in the background especially with her perfect sister Nora taking all the spotlight.

I actually thought at times that Paige herself was immature especially with the amount that she was crying all the time. For the first almost 3 years Enzo is sleeping with everyone during their marriage even at their house they share, while Paige can hear everything.

Now I think it went from I hate you to I love you fast without much of a positive development between the couple. So it's hard to believe in their love.

Well at least Paige got her HEA!

ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review *This in no way influenced my review/rating
LOVED it! This story is very different and interesting.
The author really had me thinking how in the world is this going to work?
The story is about an arranged marriage and even though you would think that is not something that gets done anymore, the author made it work. But I was always thinking during the story how is this going to be a romance? A love story? A HEA? It was just impossible in my eyes because the majority of the story is about how the main characters dislike each other. Even though they were attracted to each other they showed how much they hated each other and they said it all the time.
Enzo is not the perfect guy, not one that you might like because he is really ugly on the inside even when he is gorgeous on the outside but you can still see some glimpses of a good guy in him. He did some really horrible things while they are married and I can see some readers not liking it but I was ok with all of it. Although the author shows all the bad Enzo had done the very few things Enzo did that were good were really big. He did things for Paige that truly showed his good side and he ends up redeeming himself.
I have to say that I did like him as a character, he always showed his true colors and I could appreciate that.
Paige of course was super awesome, I really loved her character, specially because she was a fighter.
You will like all the characters in the story, even the ones that seem bad, they all have good qualities and did what they did because they had to.
I loved how the story ended, it was very romantic.
The story will keep you guessing. HEA ending.
Will recommend to all my friends.

To say I'm disappointed by this book is an understatement.

I wasn't even able to finish it which happens really rarely. Let's start with Enzo. He's the biggest a-hole I've ever came across, not only does he belittled Paige at every chance he gets but he almost raped her. The worst was that he only felt sorry for it for about... Two seconds if so before saying that it wasn't his fault, that it was what Paige signed up for and her duty as his wife or that she couldn't blame him because he was drunk. Honey I don't care about your bullshit excuses that is rape.

He also sleeps around and does as he pleases but if Paige so much wants to live her life she can't. If she wants to work she isn't allowed because Enzo's ego isn't too happy about her being the provider even though he's louded and her income wouldn't make that big of an impact. If she wants to go clubbing then suddenly he has the right to be jealous and say she can't be with other guys when he sleeps with other women on a regular basis. If Paige dresses up in something that flatters her, he calls her a whore. When they fight he intimidates her and if she flinches away he gets even madder because he doesn't consider himself a 'bad guy' and that she can't keep holding against him a bad moment *rape*.

And the worst is that Paige's friends see some of these behaviors as his way of showing his feelings. Or if Enzo does one thing good for Paige they say that she should give him a chance or fight for him. Can't they see that their relationship is downright toxic.

At this point I can't bring myself to be mad anymore. Nora at a point encouraged Paige to leave him but soon she also caved.

Paige... Well I actually pity her because she's either too much of a good person or just stupid.

Here's my two cents:

1. I was very excited for this one, but unfortunately, I was far from enthusiastic after I finished it. The premise seemed like something I'd enjoy because hello, I'm wired that way BUT the story was told in a manner that eventually made me lose interest. This was told in a dual POV, and was executed through long paragraphs, and by long, i mean loooooooooooong. Okay, I won't normally have a problem with long paragraphs but the thing is, the way it was written was so draggy. With this, the story felt like it was loosely-constructed. I don't know. Everything just felt so.....passive.

2. The two MCs aggravated me. Paige comes off as a strong woman, and truth be told, she is. But honestly, her actions and ideals in life constantly had me in a what-the-hell loop. As for Enzo, wow this dude, really fills out the word "asshole". Sure he's got issues and he's turned around at some point, but the whole "I-may-seem-like-a-complete-tool-but-trust-me-I'm-nice-and-have-a-conscience-but-I'm-still-going-to-act-like-an-asshole" persona just didn't do it for me.

3. That whole "twist" just got me like:

Five Fantastic Stars! Paige is at the point in her life where she thinks she has a lot to look forward to like, college, a boyfriend, marriage and a family. Little did she know that would all change when she is told she is to marry a man she has never met. Enzo is 20 years old and living the life of a wealthy playboy who is not ready to settle down. Enzo and Paige marry and constantly say three loving words to one another "I hate you." Can a relationship that starts out with the couple hating one another ever make a 360 degree turn into love? This is the first book by this author that I have read and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I found her writing style to be fantastic and she had me sitting on the edge of my seat to see what will happen next! The story is filled with plenty of drama, romance and unexpected turns. I highly recommend it and I will be looking for more by this author!!!

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. This book was read and reviewed by Annamaria for Alpha Book Club.

The ends did NOT justify the means.

The plot of the book had me interested; I've always loved a butthole hero who treats the heroine badly and then has to grovel to gain her love. Unfortunately, that didn't happen here; Enzo was most definitely a butt barnacle who treated Paige poorly, but in the end she ends up apologizing to him (what?).

For me I just couldn't get into the story because the plot was very unreal. For Paige to sacrifice her own happiness for her family who doesn't acknowledge her is kind of far fetched for me. And the overgrown man child, who marries a woman so that his daddy will pay for his lifestyle and acts like he's the king of the castle.

Now don't get me wrong the ending had some very interesting redeeming qualities, but it was too little too late.

Urgh. Nothing more than a woman "screaming" every five seconds and a rapey guy. It was a real creep-fest for me.
The plot seemed to interesting but when our female protagonist felt the need to "scream" her lines in the middle of random sentences I think she deserved a slap. And the guy? It wasn't even an alpha, 'let me awaken you sexually', forceful kind of guy. He was a creep. Like he attempted to rape her and then was like "well, you're pretty and stuck in this house with me so you owe me."
It's just gross. I've read plenty of books with a male character who's a bit forceful or won't take no for an answer - but it's done much better than this! This is purely a rape fantasy by the author, but in a scary way.

DC Renee has done it again! A great love story about two people who hate each other. Wait...what?? Yep, intrigues you right from the start. And it wouldn't be a DC book if there wasn't a twist in it. Filled with drama and passion. A definite must read!

I ended up getting this book because so many people in my book club kept bringing this book up. Well I got it and I say that for the first 75% of the book I truly hated the hero. And I am going to be honest, I am not sure if I believe the hero and his very quick turn around. I mean we have two young adults, he is 20 and she is 18. Honestly as a parent of an 18 year old I would never want my kid to be married this young. They are not equipped to deal with such strong emotional decisions of marriage. So the story follows both the hero and heroine from the time they are 18/20 to 22/24. So they are still young in the fours years of their relationship . We have them married shortly after she turns 18. And on that same night he attacks her, rapes her. Now just because he does not penetrate does not mean it is not rape. Holding some down and ripping clothes off and using your fingers while they are screaming “No” is the same thing. So the hero then the very next night proceeds to bring women home and screws them in his bed with the heroine next door. She hears every time he has a girl over. And yes this went on for 4 years. While of course she was a virgin. Oh she acted like she had a boyfriend but really he was a friend who had a long time girlfriend. And the one date she did go on the guy tries to attack her. Honestly I could not get past how nasty the hero was to the heroine and almost over night he was nice to her and falling in love with her? He was NASTY and MEAN for like 75% of the book and I am to believe that at 76% he has An epiphany that he loves his wife? He was a piece of work that whines that he had to marry his wife. Granted what 20 year old wants to marry person he barely knows? He was a man whore who enjoyed the good life until his father laid down the law. He was a hateful, condescending, ungrateful, mean, vindictive man whore who did not even have a job. He was living off his father and his hard work.. and why cause like every man whore he had daddy issues. His father didn’t love him enough, his father cheated on his beloved mum, his father sent him to boarding school. Whine whine whine.....i need some wine. Yikes this guy. So then have the last part of the book where we are to believe he loves are heroine now and that they are going to be happy, have a baby on the way and he starts working with his father. Sorry I am not sold. I believe in 10 to 12 years time he will revert back to his mean ways, start treating the heroine like crap and start cheating on her. But that is just my cynical self talking. Maybe if the hero wasn’t such a jerk for most of the book I might believe in the happy ever after. But his asshole-ness went on way to long for me to believe in the HEA.

Enzo was really an asshole towards her..She was so sweet..I really felt bad for her..What their parents did with them was really not right..It was 4 years of torture for her..Listening to your hubby banging others, him being too rude & cruel..Gosh!! When she falls & sits hugging her knees & crying & says I just want someone to love me, my heart went out for her. Anyway, I liked Enzo toward the end i.e when these two start being real hubby & wife but I really wish, there were more of their happy times for us to read.....

So, this is my first DC Renee story.

But it won't be my last.

We have Paige Stiles, who has always felt like she's living in the shadow of her older sister Nora, who seems to be the apple of their parents' eye. Not sure exactly why though, we never really get to see what makes Nora so special to their parents.

Enzo Faust is the son of longtime family friends; apparently he's gone off the rails and living a debauched party playboy lifestyle, which in turn has Daddy Dearest one unhappy camper.

During Paige's high school graduation party, a debt is called in and that debt is what sets the stage for what ends up being Paige's and Enzo's wedding. Obviously neither one of them is anywhere close to be happy about the turn of events, but that is just the tip of the iceberg for their marriage. Paige won't say exactly why she made her decision, and Enzo's hatred of her and the situation continues to escalate. How much can Paige take before she breaks?

Even though I've never been in the situation that Paige grew up with, I'm pretty certain I wouldn't have gone to the extreme she did in order to gain notice of my family. I mean, that's really taking one for the team. But I will give her props that she handled it the only way she knew how, and that proved just show strong of a young woman she is, even if she didn't see it in herself.

In regards to Enzo, you will find yourself wanting to nut-punch him for the first 60% of the book. I mean damn, I've never read a character who is a bigger ass than he is (except once, but that person wasn't a main character). There are moments throughout the first half of the book where you get to see glimpses of the person Enzo really is, but then he'll turn around and become such a jackass of epic proportion you might find yourself needing a neck brace from the whiplash effect of his personality changes. There are a couple of instances in which Enzo does nice for Paige but she doesn't realize he is the person behind each individual act.

The pivotal moment in their relationship occurs when Enzo manages to rescue Paige from a situation that quickly spiraled out of control; her reaction is a verbal meltdown of the only thing she wants in her life. That's when Enzo finally recognizes what he's suspected all along about Paige and what she really needs and deserves. And that is when we see the man Enzo really is, and my heaven it is such a wonderful thing to observe. Too bad that Paige is always quick to assume the worst, but given her history, I can understand why she has those knee-jerk reactions. I was especially impressed when those people who mattered to Paige were trying to convince her to hear Enzo out, because these were the same people who were giving him the side eye throughout the majority of the book, which probably should have been the clue that Paige should have paid attention to. But if she did, the ending might not have been as sweet (and possibly injury-inducing) as it was. And I loved how much Enzo paid attention and what he did for their 5-year anniversary, that was absolutely beautiful.

The epilogue was a great wrap up of the story and how well everyone stayed in contact with each other, even that many years into the future.

I was very excited to read this book. The blurb pulled me in right away and I absolutely love the cover. WHEW this book!! Be ready cause it’s going to pull out some emotions. One minute I was sad, angry, screaming, wanting to punch someone in the face (Enzo), swooning, and falling in love. Yep this book is amazing because it has it all.

What would you actually do for your family? Would you sacrifice your whole entire life? That’s exactly what Paige did. She loved her family so much and wanted to do the right thing so she stepped up and took on for the team. Never in a million years would she have thought marriage was in the agreement, much less a marriage to Enzo Faust. This isn’t what she signed up for, but now that the damage is done Paige has to live with her choices. But how much can on person actually take before they break?

I have so many things to say about Enzo…. About 70% are not good. I had such a love hate relationship with him. One minute he was the sweetest thing and the next a total prick. If I could have, I would have crawled threw my kindle and throat punched him quite a few times. Don’t get me wrong he finally grew on me, but it took a while.

DC did such an amazing job with this story. I was sucked in from start to finish. I just couldn’t get enough. It was a train wreck from the beginning, but I just couldn’t look away. After a while, I was actually pulling for Paige and Enzo and I questioned how in the world could DC go from making me completely hate someone to loving them? Beautiful book and beautiful writing… don’t miss out on this one you definitely will not be disappointed.

DC Renee never seems to suprise me with what she writes! I just loved this book even though she put my emotions through the ringer! She goes a different route with her work that no other author can accomplish. She draws you in with feeling major emotions from the characters and never lets up until the end. This story has lots of hurt and anguish between the characters, yet a relationship does begin to build for the two.

She made my heart ache so bad with this one for Paige. The situation they are put into is not ideal for either of them but Paige decides to make the best of it, that is, until Enzo pops her bubble that things might be okay. He does everything he can to upset Paige and make her hate him like he believes he hates her. He blames her for everything and stomps on her emotions.
Have you ever just hated a character right away from the beginning? Well I did with Enzo. I despised him but by the end, DC had me totally changing my mind and even feeling bad for him. How does she do that you ask? Because she just gets you so wrapped up in her books and knows how to play off of the readers emotions. Take a chance on this one because it's so well worth it. Just be ready for an emotional roller coaster ride!

This book made me smile cry and laugh but not in that order, I liked Paige from the beginning but Enzo took a long time for me to warm up to him even when reading from his point of view but eventually he even made me smile.
I'm a fan of marriage of convenience books and this one was no exception, I enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end but I wished that Paige didn't cry so much whenever Ezno became snarky towards her and it would have been nice to see her actually throwing something at him instead lol, I enjoyed how Enzo became unwantedly jealous towards her and basically any man she came in contact with and you could feel the chemistry between then whenever they were together in a room.
I lked how Enzo told her parents the truth about how Paige always feels like she's in her sister's shadow hence one of the reasons why she agreed to this fake marriage and I liked Nora who was Paige's sister and how Nora always had both her and Enzo's back.
I enjoyed reading how Enzo did a big turnaround and he went from being a very hateful, selfish, manwhore and misunderstood person to someone who became lovable and only to Paige but I thought she could have made him suffer more seeing as he made her suffer a lot, I liked how Paige became independent rather than living of Enzo and his family's money and the nice gestures Enzo did for her made me like him more especially when he finds out the real reason behind the fake marriage, Paige I thought was a bit unreasonable then but from her point of view I could understand and it made the ending a lot more sweeter and a little funny.
I was curious to find out what happened next so I was happy to find an epilogue and I'm so pleased that it wasn't a HFN situation which I do dislike.
