NYPD Detective Dom Carew can’t forget the violent way his lover was killed in Afghanistan fifteen years ago. The pain and trauma of her death still haunt him, and since then he hasn’t let a woman under his skin. Until one incredible, hot and steamy night with stunning and sassy Daisy Fowler.

Sexy, gorgeous, and hunky doesn’t begin to describe Dom Carew, but Daisy’s been burned by Dom before. A year ago, he bolted from her bed in the middle of the night without so much as a gee you were great in the sack, babe. Never laying eyes on his handsome face again is the plan. If only their paths didn’t keep crossing. If only she didn’t still find him irresistible as sin.

Seeing Daisy again sets Dom’s blood on fire, but he’s about to embark on the most dangerous undercover op of his life—infiltrate the Pyramid, an international organization of assassins. Love has no place in his heart or his world, but when the dangers of his job threaten Daisy, he’ll destroy anyone in his path to protect her.

This is a well-written, entertaining, fast paced, steamy, romantic suspense novel. It has a likable female protagonist, a brave, strong and capable male protagonist, sizzling chemistry, relationship drama, action, and a happily ever after ending. This is the final entry in Ms. O'Fallon's excellent NYPD Blue & Gold series, and it can be read and enjoyed as stand alone, but it is even better when read in order. I listened to the audio version of this novel, and the narrator, Ms. Samantha Prescott, has a lovely voice and does an outstanding job depicting the characters and their personalities.

Nothing was a certainty in life. He’d learned that firsthand, and right at this moment he felt it more than ever before.

When I first discovered this author with Burnout, I was instantly intrigued with this series. I love all things romantic suspense and this author knows how to write some great suspense.

Disavowed was definitely a great suspense story. I was riveted to the pages, anxious to see how everything unfolds. Where it lost me, unfortunately, was the romance. It fell completely flat. As much as I wanted to love Dom, his constant back and forth drove me nuts. I love a good tortured hero, but I simply had a hard time buying it here. Dom lost his first love in a terrible attack 15 years ago and since then has had a revolving door of women that he's unable to commit to even an entire night to. Leaving like a thief in the night is his MO and one he's not looking at changing, even for a woman that makes him question everything.

The epilogue that introduces the MC's meeting simply wasn't enough to hook me on their connection and so their constant back and forth that takes place a year later was an exercise in frustration for me. Daisy's celibacy during that year simply served as another irritant. I understood the why's of everything that happened between them, but because I never formed a connection to the couple, it only frustrated me. Dom's irrational jealousy when he sees potential competition for Daisy while still refusing to commit to her drove me nuts. Daisy giving into their "chemistry" so easily every time he came around was an additional irritant when she was so adamant in telling him how much she hates him.

The one solid constant that kept me reading was the suspense plot, which I enjoyed thoroughly.

Will I read other books by this author? Absolutely. She's clearly talented and my issues were personal pet peeves simply with the characters and you can't love them all. But just because I had these issues, doesn't mean you will. So if you're craving some undercover cops, sizzling suspense, and a steamy second chance romance, give it a go and judge for yourself.

This is my first Tee O’Fallon read but finding myself cringing and grimacing for most of the book doesn’t bode too well. There are times when I can sort of ‘ignore’ the protagonists and concentrate fully on the suspense and there are others when characters do trump everything else. And when a book—or rather, a main character—annoys you in the first chapter, that just feels like an ominous start.

For ‘Disavowed’, the latter held true and I found it difficult to get past the idiocy of the male protagonist enough to even enjoy the suspense. My hopes for it getting better waned when it appeared that Dom Carew spoilt it all from the beginning and the journey then on was a torture, at least when it came to the development of the relationship he and Daisy never really had.

I couldn’t get past the pure drivel that Dom kept spouting, let alone feel any sympathy for a ‘womanising asshole’ who, from the very beginning who uses women and leaves them in the middle of the night because of his own self-piteous reasoning that he was no good for anyone after his first and only love died in Afghanistan 15 long years ago.

Oh, boo hoo.

And of course Daisy stayed celibate in this one year and Dom continued going through women, though in his own words, he’d apparently never stopped thinking about her and behaving like he owned her. Adding to the hypocritical attitude is some jealous territorial behaviour that goes into overdrive when Daisy inadvertently gets involved in a case that he’s working undercover. That he’d put Daisy in an untenable position by using the excuse of work and his own personal heartbreak to keep her away yet taking every advantage of their sexual chemistry felt beyond unforgivable because she truly deserved better than his cavemannish ways.

Daisy on the other hand, pined a little too much. Though I understood her need to want some belonging, I found myself wishing she’d moved on from Dom as thoroughly as she could have, then flaunting it in his face as much as he used up every excuse in the book to remain an emotional coward. And why, oh why, did Daisy have to justify Dom’s behaviour when fifteen years surely must have been long enough even for her to stop making those same excuses for him?

Unfortunately, ‘Disavowed’ frustrated me to the point where I couldn’t read on. It’s clearly not the book for me in this case, particularly when I found myself way too annoyed to enjoy anything properly.

I love a good romantic suspense and Tee O'Fallon is an author who knows how to write a good one. She had my heart racing with some twisty ups-and-downs. Still, that was not enough to make me love the story. As much as I wanted to like Dom, I just couldn't and that raised a red flag for me.

Disavowed didn't disappointed in the suspense department, but unfortunately, it fell flat in the romantic one. I didn't believe in their so called chemistry. Add to the mix that both characters, the hero and the heroine, frustrated the hell out of me and yeah, I was in trouble.

And you can't love them all. But of course these are my feelings-issues and it doesn't mean you are going to feel the same way, right? So if you're looking for a second chance romance with a sizzling dose of suspense, give this book a try.

Plot: 3/5
Characterisation: 4/5
Prose: 4/5
How much I enjoyed it: 2/5

This latest offering is the weakest book in the series. The hype generated by introducing the main characters first impressions in the previous book was just that. It falls flat at expectation.

Don't get me wrong, I can stand an a**hole, jerk of a hero who can't seem to let go of his past baggage as well as a sensitive, emotionally wrought but stoic (almost like bipolar) heroine. Hence, my 4/5 rating for characterisation because the characters are fleshed out well. Their motivations and thought process are well written. Problem is pairing them together. Apart from their supposed chemistry and attraction, they don't seem compatible at all. If this was real life, I'd expect them to break up in less than a month. Either that or have a love hate relationship forever.

This being a romantic suspense with assasination plots, infiltrating terrorist/mercenary group and yet the most drama is between the main characters and as such the plot becomes mediocre...

The  NYPD Blue & Gold series continues with Cassie's old partner, Dom, who is now partnered with her brother, Gray.  Cassie and Mike, Alex and Gray, all make brief appearances, with Gray a little more in the story.  The setting is NYC and the task force is still chasing the Pyramid assassins who tried to have Cassie killed and Alex kidnapped.

I can't say I find this romance believable but I am having more trouble with that currently than usual.  We have two people that want each other but they are also two people who refuse to get involved with anyone because they might get hurt. Daisy wants a true relationship and children.  Seriously,  you are not going to have a great love without some risk of getting hurt.  Even if you have a great love, there will be misunderstandings sometimes and some compromises or difficult conversations occasionally.

Daisy is on/off with trusting and going all in with Dom and then not trusting him and shutting him out again. He does not handle things well but she is TSTL when she doesn't take his advice when it comes to the Pyramid.  I liked both Daisy and Dom except when they gave in to their past emotional traumas.  They were both very talented at their work.

I did really enjoy the police work and efforts to track down the criminals and stop them from more assassinations.  I wish we got to see more of these police procedures, rather than more of the romance here.  The real danger was suspenseful and the sexy scenes were hot.  So it was a quick, fun read.

Narration:
I have listened to Samantha Prescott for all of this series; it has been enjoyable.  The primary point of view here was Daisy and so the female voice was most of the performance.  Both the male and female voices felt comfortable. I was able to listen at my normal 1.5x speed.

Flower shop owner Daisy Fowler has got her biggest and best contract yet. A huge prestigious hotel has had a major refit, and Daisy is doing all the floral arrangements for the opening.
Detective Dominick Carew is setting himself up for a dangerous under cover job. He didn't realize how badly he would feel to make himself "disavowed " . For a committed soldier turned cop to be thought of as a bad guy hurts.
Our main characters have a previous connection. One that has wounded our heroine because our hero is scared of his feelings. Our heroine has wanted nothing more than a loving family since she was a child. Abandonment is a major issue for her.
An action packed romantic suspense that is part if a series, but easily read as a stand alone. Lots of danger and emotion. A story that pulls you in from the first page. I thoroughly enjoyed every page.

I need to be having words with my book friends. Why has no one mentioned this author to me before? I have literally just finished this book, and I feel amped up on all of the adrenaline coursing through my system. What a heart-pounding romantic suspense/crime thriller.

Now, I have to confess that it was the cover that first drew me to the book *shrugs* Come on peeps, you all know me a little by now *smirks* I’m a sucker for a fine-looking man *snorts*, and I apologise for nothing, but I quickly became entangled in the suspense-filled story unfolding between the pages.

Detective Dom Carew is haunted by his time spent in the military and Afghanistan as a serving officer in the elite Delta Force. More importantly, the woman he loved who was so cruelly taken from him. Unable to commit emotionally with a woman since, how can I put this? *taps chin* he has become a bit of a playboy (that’s putting it politely!). Never making promises he doesn’t intend to keep. Only one night with Daisy Fowler rocks him to his very core. Scared by his feelings, he does a very ungentlemanly thing, and runs out on her during the night.

Fast forward a year, and he is about to embark on the most dangerous UC mission of his career. This one is personal, and the stakes are very high indeed. The last thing he needs is for Daisy to appear back in his life, or to become embroiled in his mission. But, fate has already deemed otherwise.

Once bitten, twice shy, as they say – Daisy has learnt her lesson where the very sexy Dom Carew is concerned. Her exuberant exterior hides an emotional pain hidden within, even before Dom stomped all over her heart. She refuses to make herself vulnerable again. Only some things cannot be denied. Maybe there’s more to this man than meets the eye? If only she can peel back the layers to reveal his story, for theirs is

“A love magnetic and all-consuming.”

I loved all the police procedural elements of the story – trying to work out what was going on, and if my theories would pan out or not. Yes, there is a sense of predictability with the story, but this, by no means, detracted from my enjoyment of this book. What’s not to love about a sexy cop, and the feisty woman that, finally, brings him to his knees? It’s the stuff dreams are made of *giggles*

I’m off to download the first two books in the series, and I’m uber-excited about the author’s upcoming Federal K-9 romantic suspense series. I need all the words! Yup, I’m greedy like that.

I have loved this series immensely from the first book and I've got to say, for a newbie, the author knows how to write really great suspense. In fact I enjoyed the previous book so much I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one and find out how the overarching story-line ends. And the author does not disappoint and keeps you turning the pages as quickly as you can.

However, while the suspense was great, the romance fell flat for me. Dom was too annoying with his flip-flopping when it came to Daisy and his general bed-hopping ways. People deal with grief in different ways, but he clearly used his grief as an opportunity to avoid any connections with women, even the one woman who made him feel again after losing a woman he loved so long ago.

Daisy wasn't any better unfortunately. By herself, she had a lot of potential, but paired with a damaged hero like Dom, she struck the wrong cord for me, like they both had too much baggage. Between both of them, I was over the romance very early on in the book, but I stuck around for the rest of it and it was enjoyable. I'm a little let down that I didn't enjoy this book as much as I did the last one, though

If you enjoy an engrossing suspense and a well-written story, then you may want to check this story out.

This one was just ok for me, maybe because of what happened between Daisy and Dom in the last one, maybe because of something else, I don't know. Dom felt off to me, he seemed like he felt like he had to fix all the problems of the world that they were his fault. He was pissed that people he worked for thought he was a drunk and bad cop, that I could understand, but wasn't that what he wanted with this under cover role?

I really felt bad for Daisy, it felt like she kept getting yanked around by Dom. He wanted her, but didn't want to want her, the guilt too much. Yet when someone else expressed interest in her, he was pissed. Then when things are all said and done, the bad guys dealt with, Dom poofs, what a cop out. Even when he came back, his reasoning made me roll my eyes. Daisy deserves better.

For her, it had been real. A love magnetic and all-consuming. The once-in-a-lifetime kind that never dies. No matter how much a person wishes otherwise.

I truly wish I had the power to compel people to read this series by Tee O’Fallon. It’s romantic suspense at its finest, a sexy, edge-of-your-seat series of books that keep you guessing, swooning, angering and falling in love.

Disavowed is book three and, hopefully, not the end. Gray and Cassie have a couple more brothers, after all. But even if it is the end of the series, it’s a great one to go out on. The over-arching story of The Pyramid is back—and this time, it’s Gray’s partner (and Cassie’s former partner), Dom, who is on the line.

Look, I loved Dom. I know I should have been more annoyed with his flip-flopping, with the way he kept Daisy on a wire, but… I empathized with him. I did, at times, want to give him a shake and tell him to get a move on, but on the whole, I was rooting for him and Daisy to get to their HEA. And as for Daisy? I felt bad for her. She was, perhaps, a little too forgiving, but Ms. O’Fallon wrote it in such a way that it felt like just another facet of her personality. To love so deep.

Besides, the action in Disavowed distracted me from any minor concerns I might have had about these characters. There was much going on—and yet it all came together naturally. In fact, even the back and forth, will he/won’t he nature of Dom and Daisy’s relationship felt, to me, like a natural extension of the suspense, the drama, the action.

Ms. O’Fallon is absolutely a gifted author, one who walks the reader through a story that *could* be over-the-top but instead is engaging, captivating, heart-racing and, yes, more than a little bit sexy. I truly do hope that there are more NYPD Blue & Gold books yet to come. And if there’s not, when then, I’ll make do with these ones—and keep trying to encourage y’all to read them too.

Her heart skipped beat after beat, as if it were somersaulting down a steep ravine, not knowing where the emotional fall would take her. Only one thing was certain.
I want to find out.

A great suspenseful romance. The author has written a great storyline that will keep you on the edge as well as keep you wondering if the main characters are simply star crossed.

The characters are so down to earth with everyday problems that as a reader I was able to relate to. I just didn’t always want to relate. Being a hopeless romantic I wanted their issues to just go poof! However we all know that’s not how life goes.

Dom being a special forces war vet and decorated police detective has made it his life's mission to take down the Pyramid; a group of assassins that used to be special forces. To do so he must cut himself off from everything he knows, including Daisy.

Daisy is the girl Dom meets that knocks his socks off. One night was all it took. But his past and a message giving his mission against the Pyramid a go, has him running from her. Which of course leaves Daisy lost and confused and once again afraid to put herself back out there.

This is an amazing book that that will keep you glued to the pages. I absolutely loved this book and look forward to reading more from this author. 2 Thumbs Up!!!!!

Book 3 in the NYPD Blue and Gold series has got to be my favourite so far (got to say I’m upset that it’s also the final book in the series). An enemies to lovers romantic suspense that has Detective Dom Carew going undercover to infiltrate the Pyramid (finally), whilst trying to protect florist Daisy Fowler, his forever regretful one night stand. Unwilling to ever fall in love again (how naive Dom), he keeps Daisy at a distance, but whenever they are near each other, sparks fly. Daisy is not interested in having her feelings being trampled by Dom again, and she has no interest in his philandering ways. Dom though, can’t seem to let her go. Maybe he’s actually starting to feel again. Lots of suspense, some sweet sexy time (due to the intense chemistry these two have), and an addictive storyline that kept me captivated throughout. I didn’t want it to end. Although this is part of a series, each book can be read as a standalone

'Disavowed' by Tee O'Fallon is the story of Dom Carew and Daisy Fowler.
Dom is a detective who lives and breaths his job. Dom lost a women he loved in Afghanistan several years ago and never got over it. Dom has harden his heart to getting involved with a women again. But Daisy is someone that he is having a hard time fighting his feelings for. About a year ago he gave in to his desire for her and had a one night stand with her and left in the night without a word to her. But now a year later they both tried to avoid each other but their best friends are marring each other and they thrown back together for a short period of time.
In addition to being a second chance at love story it was also a exciting drama filled read.

Book 3 in this series. Dom is a Defective with a pass. After his lover was killed in the war - hes not let anyone get close. But Daisy may be the One. But when she is in danger from his job- hes ready for a battle. It was an enjoyable book but Chemistry between the main characters seemed to be missing. If you are a fan of the series go ahead and read it. If not its still an okay read. You read it and decide.

Please note I received a copy of DISAVOWED from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the publisher and author.

Four Stars and here’s why:

Tee O’Fallon wrote an engaging story about NYPD detective Dom Carew and Daisy Fowler, a flower shop owner. They’re the BFF’s of two other characters in a previous book. This book can be read as a stand-alone because I haven’t read the previous books in the NYPD Blue and Gold series.

There were elements of this story I thoroughly enjoyed, but then the ending was only okay for me, which is why I gave it four stars instead of five. This is an enemy to lovers story where they had a hook-up a year before, but Dom blows off Daisy because she unlocks his heart after several years of trying to get over losing his girlfriend in an Afghanistan missile attack. Daisy has a lot of trust issues as an orphan and when Dom slips away in the middle of the night after a soul-searching night together, she’s crushed. She finally moves on from her life changing hook-up with Dom and starts to date her employee Jack, who drives a truck for her flower shop, but he really works for The Pyramid, an outfit of former military men gone bad – really bad. Jack is using her shop as a cover. Daisy’s flower shop has the business contract to outfit with flowers a renovated hotel about to be reopened. Jack and his ex-military buddies plan to kill someone who will attend the hotel’s grand opening. Jack is also a former military buddy of Dom’s and what ensues is Dom going under cover to join Jack’s outfit in order to bring it down before the hit at the hotel can take place.

DISAVOWED is a good romantic suspense story, and if you like hella-hot guys in and out of uniform, you will enjoy this story.

Tee O'Fallon has ended the NYPD series on a high note!

Dom's book was the one I had been waiting on and it certainly didn't disappoint. Admittedly in the first few chapters of the book I wanted to strangle him but when his reasons are explained a little more and things start to unravel you can't help but fall more and more in love with him.

Daisy comes across as weak at times but she is anything but weak, she's just hurting so badly and is trying to move on from the past that haunts her so much. Behind the exterior Daisy is independent and strong willed and can definitely hold her own. Leaving the past behind isn't easy though and it takes a whole bucket load of will power to do so.

This book is filled with love, sadness, tears and a whole lot of angst. You need to read the first 2 books in the series to follow the actual story but there is no actual character cliffhangers in either and each book is a different character. I am excited to see what's next from Tee O'Fallon as this was her debut series and it was extremely well written and thoroughly enjoyable to read.

This was a good story. That drew me in from the start and kept me engaged until the end. Although there wasn't much in the way of suspense and parts of the story were a little predictable. But it was still enjoyable to read. Plus both main characters were likable and shared a spark. I also never once felt like I had missed out by having not read any of the previous stories in this series. And if your a fan of the series you're sure to enjoy this story. But if like me you are completely new there is still plenty to enjoy and I would recommend Disavowed to others.

"There are moments which mark your life. Moments when you realize nothing will ever be the same and time is divided into two parts, before this, and after this...” --John Hobbes, Fallen

NYPD Detective Dominick Carew has been living with the pain and grief of losing his love 15 years ago. He is determined to never again let his heart become attached to another woman. That is until one memorable night with Daisy Fowler. “Making love with Daisy was a gift to be remembered and cherished, yet never repeated.” Dom begins to realize that Daisy is more than just a one night stand, but with him beginning a deadly undercover assignment, he can’t risk his heart or her life. But the assassin group Pyramid has other plans, and Dom is hell bent on not letting history repeat itself.

Really enjoyed this romantic suspense from Tee O’Fallon, and would recommend!

Disavowed feels like it should have simply been a thriller/suspense novel with a nod to Dom's womanizing history, rather than a romantic suspense, because the romance part of Disavowed is seriously lacking, even though it's the whole point of the story.

Daisy's best friend is soon to marry Dom's partner and best friend and Daisy's not looking forward to seeing the best man again. About a year before the wedding, before the proposal even, Daisy and Dom hooked up for one steamy night. They connected on a physical, and more importantly, an emotional level while steaming up the sheets, and yet, Dom sneaked out in the middle of the night, leaving Daisy hurt and fuming that the man ran from the obvious connection they had shared. Dom is a messed up guy, we're hit over the head with that every other paragraph, and it got really old. I get it, the man's damaged by his time in Afghanistan and the love of his life dying, and now he needs the love of a good woman to heal him. That would be all fine and dandy, if he had actually allowed a good woman close enough to heal him. But no...he pushed Daisy away constantly, keeping a leash on her emotionally and mentally, that I wished she had just severed, for everyone's sake.

The suspense portion of Disavowed is what I enjoyed most. Dom's working undercover on a case, and when that case and Daisy intersect, that's when Dom and Daisy get involved again. Sigh...if only Tee had kept the suspense portion at the forefront, or had given the romance aspect a fine-tuning, allowing Dom to get his head out of his ass much sooner, then I might have rooted for them as a couple. As it's written, though, I just could not connect with them, either individually or as a couple. Dom's a douche, seriously, he allows his damage to control his actions and it was annoying and cruel to Daisy. Daisy was a doormat, unfortunately. She should have never allowed Dom back into her life time and again! Even toward the end, he ran AGAIN and Daisy took him back AGAIN! Just no is what Daisy should have said, many times, and it's what I say to the romance in Disavowed. The suspense/thriller aspect? Yes, definitely yes.

If you're looking for a well-balanced romantic suspense, you should look elsewhere. If you want a nicely suspenseful case with a clunky romance that doesn't work, Disavowed is what you're looking for.

Daisy never believed the bad things being said about Dom. Even though he hurt her badly, she always saw the best in him. Daisy is the one that got away from Dom. Granted he let her get away, but he didn't forget her. A year later and she's unwillingly put in harm's way. Dom vows to keep her safe and tries his best not to let his heart get in the way.
Daisy is the sweetest most forgiving person. I would have made him beg just a little bit more. And enjoyed it too.

Dom is an alpha male and quite cocky and full of himself, “nope.” He shook his head, grinning back. “Trust me, you had my full attention while I was ravaging you against the wall.” I loved this book, I fell in love with Dom right from page one.

Disavowed is one of those books that I started to read and was not sure if I was going to like it at first. Then the BOOM! The book clicked with me and I didn't put it down until I finished reading it. This is book 3 in the NYPD Blue & Gold series. This book can be read as a stand alone without any issues if this is the first book you pick up, but if you plan on going back for the first two be warned it does give away spoilers for the other two books. That said, it wasn't anything that would keep me from going back and reading them. Dom is one broken man and man do I love those guys. Daisy was a feisty woman and I really admired her. The book was full of suspense and high intrigue. The one thing that bothered me was at the end of the book. I wont give that tidbit away but I just had a hard time with that. I still enjoyed the book and would recommend it to anyone looking for some seriously sexy suspenseful romance.

Disavowed is the third novel in the NYPD Blue & Gold series, and the second book in the series I've read. I wish I could give it the same 5-star rating I gave to the first novel in the series, Burnout, but it just didn't live up to the standard set by that novel, or my expectations, and I can only give this one a 3 star rating.

The hero, Dom, is a detective with the NYPD, and he first meets Daisy, a flower shop owner, because their best friends (Alex and Gray) met and fell in love, and she and Dom fall into bed for some seriously steamy sex within hours of meeting each other and going on their first date, and when Daisy wakes up the next morning, Dom is gone--no goodbye kiss, no note, no Dom, and she's utterly crushed, and although the author makes it clear that Daisy has self-esteem issues, it seemed hard to believe that a beautiful woman would even entertain the possibility that a one-night stand would result in undying love.

One year later, Daisy and Dom are maid of honor and best man, respectively, at Alex and Gray's wedding, and, in that year, Daisy hasn't found anyone that lights her fire the way Dom did and remains celibate, while Dom has continued his string of one-and-dones, although we're supposed to believe that it's Daisy he really wants. While Daisy is avoiding Dom like the plague during the rehearsal and wedding, they practically have sex right before the wedding in a back dressing room, and, of course, they're interrupted. During the reception he's ultra-possessive of her, basically forcing her to dance with him, which, considering that he's about to go deep undercover in the hopes of infiltrating and bringing down an international ring of assassins known as The Pyramid, seemed cold and heartless to this reader, but that doesn't stop him-- Daisy does when she finally realizes where they are and what they're about to do.

Granted that Daisy has self-esteem issues, although we're not told why at the outset, but she certainly has enough men who are attracted to her. Dom has serious issues too--the first woman he loved was blown to pieces by terrorists in Afghanistan years ago, and he's vowed to never love another woman because he can't handle the pain of loss. It would have been nice to let Daisy know that up front. That being the case, his on-again, off-again behavior toward Daisy seemed unnecessarily cruel and heartless to this reader. Both characters behaved like teenagers rather than mature adults, and I'm sad to say, their behavior toward one another didn't endear me to either of them.

What did work well in this novel was the way the suspense overcame my annoyance over their non-relationship once Dom tries and succeeds to tarnish his own reputation at the NYPD, get fired, and then jump through the hoops necessary to join and infiltrate the terrorist organization, The Pyramid, which he does. There's a nefarious plot in the works that ties in to the re-opening of the newly refurbished luxury hotel, The Piazza (located in exactly the same location as the real Plaza Hotel on 5th Avenue in NYC), and Daisy has been hired to create and supply all the floral arrangements for the big grand opening gala. She's also hired a new driver to deliver these huge arrangements--Jack. When Dom first sees him, he realizes that not only is Jack one of the members of The Pyramid, the same man who once served with him, and he correctly guesses that Jack is using Daisy as a cover to get inside The Piazza. He soon learns that Jack is also attracted to Daisy, but Dom obviously can't warn her without giving himself away, and so the plot continues to unwind until the exciting and inevitable conclusion.

Even after the suspenseful part of the novel wraps up, Dom's behavior continued to totally tick me off. I kept wanting to shake him by the shoulders and yell, "Make up your mind already!" and "Get over it!". Daisy's belief that Dom is the only man for her also annoyed me, especially when the man dragged her close one minute and tossed her aside the next, disappearing without a word for months at a time. We do learn why Daisy has low self-esteem eventually, but since she and Dom do very little talking, invariably letting their sexual chemistry take over, their relationship made little sense to me. Love is more than a guy capable of giving you great orgasms, yet that seems to be the sum total of their relationship, and it's one of the many reasons for my 3-star rating.

This novel had a lot of promise, but in this reader's opinion, it failed to fulfill that promise. Perhaps if Dom hadn't continued to engage in one-nighters after falling in insta-love during his first night with Daisy he'd have been more a more admirable hero. A couple of intelligent conversations, some character development and relationship-building were desperately needed to make this romance and its characters both believable and sympathetic.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book. The opinions expressed are my own.

**Disclaimer: Please don't let my personal preferences stop you from trying this author. My issues may not be your own, but I am sharing them below in case they are. Also, keep in mind that I did like the other books and will try again with the next in the series.**

Dom, a cop, and Daisy, a flower shop owner, met because those close to them fell in love. Though their paths have crossed numerous times since, neither acted on the obvious mutual attraction right away. Daisy, struggling with her worth due things from her past, is fully aware of Dom's type and knows getting involved with him in any way would only lead to pain...hers. As for Dom, since losing the love of his life, almost two decades ago mind you, has sealed off his heart from any chance of risk. However, he has no problem giving his body and does. His only requirement seems to be that the woman is breathing.

When he and Daisy finally go on a date, Dom knows she's different, special, and that scares him. The chemistry between them is explosive and they act on it. To Daisy, Dom seems to be feeling everything she is, their connection and the chance for more. But when she wakes up the next day only to find him gone, she feels used and unworthy, the latter being one she's felt for a long time.

A year passes and they've seen each other from time to time due to the couple they met through, but Dom's actions are always like a barrier between them. But Daisy doesn't know Dom is embarking on a dangerous undercover mission, one that has him purposefully alienating fellow cops. He knows he hurt Daisy, but he can't allow himself to feel. He seemed to have no remorse in hurting her to allow himself to feel "safe."

What bothered me was that at the wedding, he was jealous, and had no problem showing it, if any man seemed to show Daisy any attention. That's very hypocritical as he literally had no right to do so, especially considering how he treated her a year prior.

Honestly, I didn't even finish the book. I skimmed ahead to answer a question for myself, and upon discovering it, I couldn't continue because though I hadn't really been able to build much of an investment in these two as a couple beforehand, knowing Dom's actions after they were together, ruined the "romance" aspect for me. I hate saying that as I really liked the two previous books, and will continue reading any after this as I like the series and find the author to be talented, but for my own reasons, see below, this one was not for me.

On a purely personal note, while I loved the previous books in the series, this one wasn't as enjoyable for me, and that's all due to the "Hero." I understand he'd loved and lost, and everyone reacts differently to grief, but his way, and I detest this as a characteristic in someone labeled a hero, he became a manwhore of apparently epic proportions. Also, while the heroine, of course, remained celibate in the year since sleeping with the him, he continued treating women as a buffet laid out specifically for him. That completely contradicts him running out on the heroine after sex because she made him feel, they had a connection, blah blah blah. Maybe it was his response to being scared, to try to prove to himself that she meant nothing, just like ALL the others, yet he still went through with it however many times, which in fact makes the heroine, after finding out he wasn't celibate after her, feel worthless, unimportant, and just one of many to him. That's not a romance, that doesn't redeem the man, or anything. I would've loved the book so much more had he stayed celibate after being with her. Not to mention he made her feel unwanted, a throw away, just like her grandparents did after her parents died and they sent her into the foster care system. It would've strengthened their connection, making it more believable, but maybe that's just me.

The feelings Dom Carew has had for Daisy Fowler ever since he met and then spent an incredible night with her have Dom running scared and uncertain whether he'll be able to do anything about said feelings, considering the last woman he loved died a horrible death. However, for the moment he needs to put his feelings on the back burner, if he's to successfully complete the dangerous undercover assignment he's agreed to take on. Infiltrating the Pyramid isn't going to be easy, but Dom's determined to take the group of assassins down once and for all. Yet, when things become too dangerous, will Dom be able to protect the one person he's fallen for, or will Daisy be another reminder of his failure to protect someone he loves?

Ms. O'Fallon has delivered a fantastic and mesmerizing read in this third book of her NYPD Blue and Gold series, which had plenty of twists and turns when it came to the suspense; plenty of obstacles for the incredible main characters to overcome to be together, especially since Daisy feels she can no longer trust Dom after what he did to her; and wonderful dialogue that made this story a total page turner, as Dom knows how to get under the heroine's skin. The way this story started with the prologue sets the fast pace of this story, as there's remarkable and powerful chemistry between this couple that had me determined to discover where Daisy and Dom would go from there. Will Dom be able to let go of the past to have a future with Daisy? Will Daisy give Dom a second chance?

Both the main characters were compelling and I loved how Dom teased the heroine to get her to talk to him, which isn't easy with her abandonment issues and her belief that they could have had something worthwhile, if he hadn't have done what he did a year ago. The heroine is also resilient, independent and I could sympathize with her when it came to her past, because of a tragedy that happened on a special day to her. I also liked the heroine's enthusiasm for her career as a florist and how she handled herself when it came to anyone determined to hurt her. Certainly, she's a fighter and doesn't give up, no matter how tough the odds are. While the hero, I couldn't help but empathize with him when it comes to his past. Will he be able to keep Daisy safe when he couldn't save another woman he loved years ago? However, he's confident, smart, a good detective and I liked his determination to take down the pyramid once and for all. I also liked how protective the hero was of Daisy and that he would do anything to keep her safe, especially in the moment when the odds aren't in his favor.

Overall, Ms. O'Fallon has penned another superb read for this series where the chemistry was strong between this couple; the romance hot and nicely-detailed in doing justice to this couple's chemistry; and the ending had me on the edge-of-my-seat because of what the hero and heroine face from the Pyramid. However, in saying that, I liked how Dom made things right between him and Daisy, as he realizes that he deserves a second chance at love and that there's no one more perfect for him than the heroine. I would recommend Disavowed by Tee O'Fallon, if you enjoy romantic suspense, the sexy protector trope or books by authors Katie Reus, Toni Anderson, Sheryl Nantus and Kat Martin.

**I received a copy of Disavowed from Entangled Publishing and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review**

Disavowed is the third book in Tee O'Fallon's NYPD Blue & Gold series and having read the first two, I guess that I had high hopes this one would be as good as the previous books. But sadly it wasn't to be and it just dragged in the middle with Dom not being able to be faithful to Daisy was the hardest to accept at for me. But I stuck with it and was rewarded with a exciting ending.

NYPD detective Dom Carew had a one night stand with Daisy and then abruptly disappeared from her life until he finds out that the case he's working ties in with Daisy and her flower shop. He still has memories of losing his girlfriend in Afghanistan in a missile attack but to not leave a note was somehow wrong in my book. Then he's jealous that another man is showing interest in her even though he's supposed to be watching Jack, he once again leaves Daisy hanging on wondering what happened at the end of the story.

Daisy has a successful flower shop that has a contract with the NY police commissioner but little does she know that the person whom she hires to delivery is part of the plot to attack and kill at the event . When Dom shows up wanting to help out she reluctantly hires him, hoping to not lose her heart again to him again. When she's drugged and kidnapped they know that Dom will come to her rescue but will everyone survive? Will Daisy and Dom work things out and become a couple? I really liked the previous books but for this one wasn't the same.
