Comedy star Adam Sandler made a huge-comeback with his latest drama-comedy movie "The Meyerowitz Stories." Sandler's most recent film release by Netflix, "Sandy Wexler," received negative reviews from both critics and fans. His performance in "The Meyerowitz Stories" with co-actor Ben Stiller and director Noah Baumbach is recognized as a comeback and a reminder that Sandler is a great fit for both comedy and drama.

"The Meyerowitz Stories" received a 93% rating from Rotten Tomatoes. The movie also won the Palm Dog Award at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. The film is about Meyerowitz siblings Danny (Sandler), Matthew (Stiller), and Jean (Elizabeth Marvel) contending and celebrating the artistic work of their father, Harold (Dustin Hoffman). Several publications and critics commended Sandler's performance and his brilliance in the art of screaming. Roger Ebert's review made the statement, "The Meyerowitz Stories shockingly belongs to Sandler, who is absolutely fantastic."

Collider praised the amazing performance of Stiller and Hoffman by saying, "Two performances that may very well haunt you after the film comes to an end." Many critics agreed on one statement about the movie and that it efficiently portrayed a dysfunctional yet functional family.

Sandler has been struggling over the past few years with several failed comedy flicks like "Jack and Jill," "That's My Boy," and "The Do-Over." One comment in particular from Common Sense Media after his performance in "That's My Boy" compared Sandler to Eddie Murphy, suggesting that the actor's movies were doing poorly because he was only after having fun and getting a high salary.

"The Meyerowitz Stories" was released in the United States on Oct. 13, and is currently available on Netflix. As one of the biggest names in comedy, Sandler's fans are hoping for more spectacular portrayals from the comedy genius. Next in line for the actor is "Hotel Transylvania 3" set to be released on July 13, 2018.
