Abstract:

The term Internet of Things was first coined by Kevin Ashton in 1999. Fast forward 10 years from then, over-optimistic market predictions have led to high expectations for the Internet of Things (IoT). However, these forecasts are becoming more modest as the adoption of the IoT proves to be slower than projected With the SIGFOX network for IoT devices rolled out nationwide across Singapore and 32 other countries worldwide, we are now able to collect huge volumes of sensor data from very large deployments of sensor devices. Speaker Biography:

Mr. Jonathan Tan is the Vice President of Sales and Business Development - UnaBiz and oversees all UnaBiz’s business relationships with ecosystem partners, clients and resellers. The former head of sales for Singtel’s Fixed Satellite Business, Jonathan is responsible for driving sales revenue globally for a broad range of solutions on VSAT, satellite IP, broadcast, teleports, and land mobiles. With 24 years of ICT broad-based experience across solutions in IoT, telecom, satellite, mobile applications, intelligent building, infrastructure and enterprise business sales, Jonathan is well positioned to understand the customers’ diverse and rapidly changing requirements. Jonathan holds a Degree with Honours in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
