Based on the Nathu La and Cho La clashes between the armies of India and China in 1967, the film, produced and directed by JP Dutta, tells the tale of a short, sharp clash between the two nations five years after the Sino-Indian war of 1962.

“To relive and recreate what happened in history was quite amazing because you learn so much from the sacrifices of the soldiers. When you do a war film deep down, you hope if things could have happened peacefully. It’s an important event an important part of our history and I hope when people see it they do put it in history textbooks. It’s important to know what these soldiers did,” Arjun Rampal told Connected to India.

Speaking about JP Dutta’s hand at the helm, Rampal said, “He’s the kind of filmmaker when we talk about preparations, He’s already prepared a lot of things for you with research and material about who these guys were, what their families were like, where did they come from, where did they get trained, etc.”

The background score of the film is composed by Sanjoy Chowdhury and songs are composed by Anu Malik. The lyrics are written by Javed Akhtar.
