Call for application - ATAR 2

Forum for Civic Initiatives together with LINK Campus University, supported by The European Union Office in Kosovo, has started the project “Accelerating self-employment and entrepreneurship in Kosovo”.

The proposed action will directly increase employment of unemployed youngsters from poor socio-economic backgrounds, by empowering them to act on their entrepreneurial ideas regarding Sustainable Agriculture and ICT sector.

The 100 selected individuals from the target group have undergone extensive capacity building training in key topics regarding self-employment and entrepreneurship skills, as part of the Start-Up Accelerator Program. At the end of the Start-Up Accelerator Program, the best 50 ideas will be presented in front of a panel of experts and local investors.

The Selection Panel will select 20 start-ups with the highest growth and job creation potential will be awarded Start-Up Grants of up to €8,000, while they will also have the opportunity to fundraise more money from local investors and receive close mentorship to implement their business ideas in practice.

Who can apply?

This project is specifically designed to benefit young unemployed and young beneficiaries of social assistance. The age of applicants must be between 18-29 years. The applications are expected from young people of the above-mentioned two categories who would like to start their own business.

The evaluation criteria to select 100 best applications will be based on the following elements:

Should be in the embryonic stage, or something that just started.
Should be based on local resources.
Should be environmentally friendly and socially responsible.
Should provide employment opportunities for local people.
Should have a clear vision of future growth of the business
Should include a basic assessment of the local market acknowledge competitors and comparative advantages.
Should fall under the scope of “Sustainable Agriculture” or “ICT”

The project is funded by European Union, managed by the EU Office in Kosovo and implemented by FIQ and LINK Campus University.
