When Mica Scott moved into a quiet Chicago suburb, she wasn’t ready for what she found. Her new neighbor is bossy, kinda scary, and defines hotness. Sure, he’s a hunky alpha male, the kind most women secretly long for, but the man oozes danger. And Mica isn’t most women. After a chance encounter brings a new man to her door, Mica struggles to find a path between what she wants, and what she needs.

Mica Scott was raised on a ranch in Northeast Texas. Life was hard, but not impossible...until she met her own personal nightmare one night at a rodeo. She escaped his abuse by putting things behind her, isolating herself with a move to Chicago for college and work.

Davis Mason is the hard-living president of the Rebel Wayfarers, a motorcycle club operating out of Chicago. With just one encounter, he becomes determined to keep Mica safe...whether she wants him to or not. He will use every possible means in his control to manage Mica, while holding himself aloof from taking the one thing he really wants...her.

Daniel Rupert is a successful businessman. He owns a trucking company and a hockey team, for which he is the star forward. Meeting Mica and Mason when he helped foil an attempt on her life, he began working jointly with Mason to keep her safe. But unlike Mason, Daniel is not satisfied with a platonic relationship. He insinuates himself into Mica's life, and he only wants...everything.

Events escalate and Mica's very life hangs in the balance as old threats resurface and the men in her life scramble to keep her alive.

18+ due to explicit content.

*Please note this book is part of the Rebel Wayfarers MC book series, featuring characters from additional books in the series. If the books are read out of order, you’ll twig to spoilers for the other books, so going back to read the skipped titles won’t have the same angsty reveals. I strongly recommend you read them in order. Book Review For: Mica by MariaLisa deMora Mica by MariaLisa deMora is Book One in the "Rebel Wayfarers". Mia had a lot to deal with being traumatized as she was. Feeling not so strong when she actually was very strong. Her story had me hooded and I wanted to see how things were going to end for her. This was my first book by Ms. deMora but I hope to read more of her books soon. Davis Mason has been waiting for his chance with Mica Scott and when the opportunity rises he finds himself more of her protector than what he had hoped. Daniel Rupert rescues Mica in a time of need and now Mica finds herself torn between who she wants to be with.

There is a lot too this story and I found sometimes it became muddled. If you like a story with details though this is perfect for you. The story was different from what I was expecting, it was intriguing and I am definitely interested in several of the characters stories I was introduced too in this book. Mason is a biker and found myself more interested in him than anyone else. Look forward to seeing where the next story goes.

Without fear there is no courage...
I am glad I took a chance on this book and was introduced to a new author. I fell in love with Mason immediately. He is my favorite kind of alpha badass biker who says exactly what he means and does it in a way that really pushes my buttons. I would like to hear him on audible...sigh. I also enjoyed many of the other colorful characters in the book that I look forward to spending more time with in future installments. Slate and Road Runner are gonna be fun reads, I can tell already. I confess that while I enjoyed the story, it was almost too much. There was so much going on all at once, and it was sooo long, I found myself tempted to skim to get to the end. In my opinion sometimes less is more. Mica had her moments where I totally loved her, especially her drunk ramblings...meep, meep...I got you babe. She could be funny and sweet and occasionally badass. But, she is also stubborn and deaf. Well, she must be since she totally did not respond when I kept yelling at her to wake-the-f*ck-up and grab that totally HOT, tattooed, muscled, dirty-talkin', sweet, protective, beautiful man that worshipped her. And Jess, her BFF, who is queen of the never-ending sentences is a favorite that I hope to see a lot more of. Overall it was a very interesting read full of drama, suspense, laughter, secrets, pain, misunderstandings, revelations, surprises, and a few disappointments when things didn't go exactly how I wanted them to. But, it's not over so the possibilities are endless and I'm anxious to see how it all turns out.

I just finished Mica and I really liked it. Mica is such a strong character for dealing with what she has to deal with. I get her hesitancy. Daniel is a good character too. I wished he would have fought harder for me from the beginning but get where he was trying to slow down for her sake. I loved the secondary characters. I can't wait for more. The story pulled me in and I didn't want to let go. Can't wait for more!!

Disappointing

This book was drawn out. Mica spoke like a child and was really selfish playing two men against each other while rubbing both relationships in the others face. ****Spoilers**** Mason was always there for her and should've been the one she ended up with. Who writes a 500 page story about a biker club and leaves the Prez hanging while the main character end up with some douche bag.

This was an unusual premise for a MC romance. Is it really MC though if Hockey is such a big part? The love triangle was off for me. For some reason, even though I liked both guys,, it didn't seem plausible that they would be cool how this panned out. I mean they were men with Tarzan tests done syndrome. I was expecting this to go a different direction on her choice though.

Still, a good start to this series.

I picked up this book because of my love for biker romances and also because it was a recommended series on a blog of the best MC books to read. It started out good (although all the flashbacks became confusing and made me lose focus after a while) but I had a really hard time with the whole hockey player storyline once that was introduced. The two men vying for Mica's attention and love (in apparently different ways) BOTH wanted her desperately and she was a wishy-washy woman caught between them with emotionally disturbing consequences.
Yes, the story was very different and introduced a lot of interesting characters who will be dealt with in future books, but at times I found it to be too much...and without spoiling the story for those who have not read it, there are many "triggers" that some readers will hate and to be honest, Mica did not end up with the man I felt deserved to be with her.
Read this one if you think mixing sports with MC would be fun for you...I personally didn't love it but the majority of the rest of the story made up for it.

**** 3.5 **** "she's their treasure and his property" stars

WOW! So much happens in this book. Mica (Rebel Wayfarers MC #1) grabs hold of you and doesn’t let go…not even after you hit that last page. I love these characters. Love. Love. Love Them!

Even though she doesn’t think so, Mica is a courageous woman. She’s been through so much, seen too much, and yet she continues to push forward. Of course her new friends all help her with that ability, whether she wants them to or not.

Daniel just happened to be at the right place at the right time and thankfully he was, but he didn’t see himself as a hero, if anything he argued the fact he hadn’t gotten there quickly enough to save Mica from experiencing any pain at all. He realized from the moment he saw her, and continually by her hospital bedside, that he wanted to know more about this woman. He just couldn’t get her out of his head.

“I’m afraid of losing control with you. I need this to be your decision, you choice, because I don’t want to be your regret.”

And my heart goes out to Rebel Prez Mason. I LOVE HIM! I cannot say how many times my heart broke for him throughout the book. He kept pushing his emotions aside because he knew Daniel was better for Mica than he was. Talk about being the bigger man.

“It felt right with my arms wrapped around her. I want to take care of her. I want her.”

I wanted both Mason and Daniel to get the girl. I kept playing out scenarios in my head as to which on would win out in the end, because damn if those two weren’t friendly as fuck toward each other making it even more difficult to pick just one. In the end all I can say is… Gotta love ‘em both!

“Let me be your sometimes…until you find your always.”

When Mica’s past converges on her future its Mason and the rest of the Rebel Wayfarers who eventually take charge. They protect what’s theirs and their Princess “A fucking treasure” is their highest priority. The men who seek to harm her will get their due, but they will leave a long wake of brokenness to clean up.

You’ll not only love the main characters, you’ll love them all. I could so see Duck continuing his “take care of her” mode, but pushing it onto Molly. Those two could heal each other in a way no one else could. Slate and Essa make quite the interesting pair and I wonder what will become of them, if anything at all. And I hate that I’m thinking this way, but I’m kind of praying for some sort of far-off accident that will eventually get a certain someone his treasure.

On a side note: There is sexual violence referenced. It’s not too detailed, but if it bothers you at all then I wouldn’t suggest reading this.

My Favorite Heartbreaking Moments: A midnight call that gave one person what they needed and the other person what the so very much wanted. The afterward moment broke my heart and when the night was confessed, it broke again.

“Hey, are you awake yet? Can I come over? I had a bad dream and I don’t want to be alone right now.”

There also comes a moment when Mica’s title of Princess is explained in detail and when she doesn’t quite understand it’s the wise words of a third person that makes her truly understand.

My Favorite Laughable Moment: Mica and Meek at the lounge. After Mason shows up it gets downright hilarious.

“I, Mica Scott, do hereby dub thee Road Runner.” … “Meep, meep.”

Oh my god!! I've been living under a rock since this is the first book I've read by Ms. deMora. I'm now hooked. This book centers around Mica and Mason.

Mason is the President of the Rebel Wayfarers MC and when Mica moves in next-door to him his life is changed for the better. He doesn't know what she is doing to him but she's like his conscience pushing him to strive to make better decisions. Mica grew up on a working farm in northern Texas. After her mother dies life for her goes downhill from there. Men have used and abused Mica and she just doesn't trust them. She totally isolated herself from everyone and move to Chicago to go to college and subsequently open up her own business with her college roommate and best friend. On moving in day to her first new place she has an encounter with her sexy neighbor dressed in leather and from that encounter and the sad look in her eyes he is determined to protect her.

Things are going status quo until Mr. hockey star, Daniel Rupert comes skating into her life. There is a dynamic between three of them that's special. Mason is content to keep their relationship strictly platonic but Daniel is not, he wants all of Mica. Daniel then proceeds to insinuate himself into Mica's life and when someone threatens her he goes all alpha male on the threat. Combining forces with Mason and his club they help protect and keep Mica safe, but her past comes back to the present. Well the ones that love her be able to protect her from her past?

I highly recommend this book. I can't believe it took me so long to read this series. I can't wait to see where the author takes the series, I have to purchase the series!!!

4 Stars From Sammy's Book Obsession!

MY THOUGHTS~

I was provided with a Review Copy/ARC for review.

Mica was a very good story once I was able to get into it. Honestly, I almost DNF for quite a few chapters. It seemed like the story was just all over the place in the beginning and I was seriously confused who about who I was reading about from one page to the next. It got much better though once I figured out who was who. The story picked up a lot as I read. So, I'm glad I finished it.

The writing was good, but I wouldn't go as far as to say it was great in this first book of the series. As with the story line, the writing was much better as the story went. I got hooked, for sure. I loved the characters and ended up wanting much more of them by the end. I was irritated with the direction the story went ultimately. It was what most consider a happily ever after, but it wasn't the one I wanted, I guess.

I will definitely be reading the next book in the series, Slate. I'm all kinds of intrigued by that man! Yum!

This book was great. It was an emotional story about love, friendship and being part of an MC family that love you unconditionally.

I loved this book because it made me step out of my comfort zone, walk around in the characters shoes and live their lives with them. It was not all hearts and flowers and some very traumatic scenes that were graphic but not enough to stop me from going on.

There were some lovable characters that made me laugh and made me wish they were real.

This book was definitely not a hardcore MC read. There were no biker bitches, drugs or gambling. The 'prez' wanted to protect Mica from club stuff.

I nearly took away one star for the confusion in the first 20% off the book, but I gave it back because of my overall enjoyment.

I really enjoyed this book and I will definitely be reading more from this author. Heading straight to buy Slate's book now.

I love how this story is like two books in one! When you think the plot twist has come and gone the author throws another curve ball faked from the left and then the right! It's insane how many different climaxes you have. I was hooked from the first chapter and invested in Mica's life! However she's drawn to two different men that are complete opposite of each other. Daniel is brutal only on the hockey ice and Mason is brutal to everyone but Mica, being the leader of the local MC. It's hard to tell who she could really fit with but you learn that things aren't always what they seam and everyone will protect her at all cost. I love how protective the MC is of her, her nickname is princess and they use it often to remind her just how much she is valued. It's an uphill battle from the start but an electrifying start to the series!

Actually more like 3.5 because it needed editing badly for flow and introducing characters, especially near the end. I understand the series conception but this just had me scratching my head (annoying as hell). A whole bunch of ramble toward the end but the good plot and sweet friendship between Mason, Mica, and Daniel was what pushed to a four star. I didn't see any evidence that Ray's brother made a difference in the back story regarding him. Maybe he becomes a character in subsequent serial. It would of been cooler if Slate was Ray's brother because he served a protective character. I guess I'd write a book if I could write nearly half as much as this author but someone asked me to fill this section in.

Wow! I really enjoyed this book. It has so many aspects of a great read from hot alpha males to an awesome story line that flowed really well from start to finish. You get not only a great lead characters but awesome background ones that I can not wait to learn more about. MariaLisa really brings into her world and makes you love all the people in her book. I can't wait to see what happens with Mason! I couldn't help but fall for the badass alpha biker and want him to find his other half! I am very much looking forward to Slate's story next!!

Could not get into, the story was told from too many points of view. Wasn't sure what was happening most of the time. Hate love triangles when there really isn't a need for them ,this is a book about an MC so you would assume the story would be about the H and h, not the h and some other random dude.

Complicated…

Mica having escaped a life changing event has made a new life for herself….still haunted, figuratively and literally, by past demons she finds solace and support with two protective men, Mason a MC president and Daniel a local businessman and hockey player…

This is a fast paced story but in some ways there is too much action and too many central characters making the story overly confusing to read…Mica, in particular, was a difficult character to like I appreciate she had a rather traumatic history but her character seemed rather weak and sketchy …in fact I thought the supporting cast were more interesting and believable than the main characters and I would love to read more about their stories in the future…

I really liked the premise of this story…. it was entertaining and there were some thrilling moments but overall it did not quite live up to my expectations….this is the first in the series and I am hopeful this book was simply setting the scene for more compelling future installments…..This book was reviewed for Summer's Eve Reads...

OMFG!!
What an amazing start to what looks to be an absolutely FANTASTIC series!
In this we get Mica's story. It's not easy, it's not pretty, it's not for the faint hearted.
She goes through so much hell it's a wonder she manages to stay sane but, with Mason, Daniel and ALL of the Rebel Wayfarers plus her friends, she keeps it together.
I did have one issue;Who she ends up in a relationship with but, once the reason was given I'm glad that's who she ended up with!!
I seriously can't praise this story enough!!

Mica.....Mason....And Daniel! My word, there are no appropriate words, phrases or emotional descriptions to describe this story! I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I started with the hopes of it going one way, changed my mind a few times before the end and as I sit here after the last page, I'm still not sure how I feel! Brilliant! Just brilliant!

Mica is the first novel in the Rebel Wayfarers MC series, so we are introduced to many characters. The author doesn’t just give us a story of two or three people. She builds a world, rich in detail. We have a traumatized heroine, a lot of rough bikers and a few members of a minor league hockey team. There are also a few friends and relatives for some of the main characters. Many of the secondary characters come with quite a background, allowing us to get to know them better. No doubt, this was done because some of those characters will get their own story. Unfortunately, those side stories often distract from the main plot and their story dead ends. This left me frustrated to no end because the writing is very good. I just felt the story went off in too many directions with only one loose end concluded. Again, I can hope this is because there will be more books focusing on those loose ends.

Reading the synopsis, it is clear that the heroine has two men vying for her affections, so there is no spoiler there. I won’t say who she chooses but I will say I firmly believe the author chose the wrong man for Mica. I feel so strongly about this that I seriously doubt I will read any more from this series. Both men were swoon worthy and both men deserved the love of a woman like Mica but only one could win. My heart broke for each of these men at some point and it was unnecessary. The author could have split male leads into two series. There should have been a hockey series and a biker series. There could have been crossovers at some point but putting the two together made little sense and added heartbreak and strife where it wasn’t needed. Mica’s plate was already full of trauma and drama. Honestly, I spent much of the book trying to figure out why the hockey guys were even in the book. It made no sense.

Mica is the first in the Rebel Wayfarers MC Series. Let me just say that to have so many men care about me would be wonderful. The whole MC club really seems to care for her starting with Davis “Mason” (He hates to be called Mase) is the Prez of Rebel Wayfarers MC. He has made it clear that Michaela Trenton Scott (Mica) is HIS and what is HIS he takes care of.

I had a slow start of getting into this book but, I can say by the end I didn’t want Mica to end. I am not sure what to say about Mason other than I think I love him. How can one man be that loyal to someone and you not love him. Mason offers his protection to Mica from the moment she moved in to her house. He lives next door to her and he owns most of the businesses in town. He is everywhere and he tries to protect her. Mica does actually get hurt after a failed attempt at her kidnapping and was rescued by Mason and another bystander Daniel. Mason actually pushes Daniel to her. Knowing that Daniel would be better for her than himself. How unselfish is that? He mostly only wants friendship (I did say mostly) you will have to read the book to see why I said that.

I have to say that through everything that happens to Mica she is a very courageous gal. And, the reason I love the quote that she had tattooed “Without Fear there is no Courage”

After I finally got into the book (I think it took a while to build all the characters that are in this book). Now that I know most of the characters the rest of the stories should flow in this series.

I give Mica 4.0 stars. I am looking forward to reading Slate and more from MariaLisa deMora.

I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well but after realizing where the author was taking us I was a little disappointed. The story has laughs, pain, grief, love and heartbreak.

This is Mica and Daniel’s story. Mica has a troubled past that still haunts her. She lives next store to the president of the Rebel Wayfarers, Mason and he and his club consider her an “f*cking treasure”. They call her that and their Princess and will protect her to their very last breath. She has trouble trusting men and is on the run from one. After being attacked she meets Daniel who with the help of Mason protects and rescues her. Mason knows she can’t live the life of his woman so he must find a way to keep protecting her but let her go to be with Daniel. Daniel is a hockey player and successful business man. When her pass comes back to get her she must push both Daniel and Mason away to protect them. Will they understand? Can she count on Daniel & Mason to protect her in the end? Or will they both let her down?

I loved these characters. Have to say I loved Mason way more than Daniel. Not that Daniel was not a hot alpha male I just wanted more of Mason. There are some tear filled moments and some anger filled moments in this story. There is one part that had me laughing out loud. That is when Mica renames one of the club members from Meek to Road Runner (Meep Meep). But all in all I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story in this series.

I was given a copy of this book by the author for a honest review. Mica (Rebel Wayfares MC, #1) by MariaLisa deMora is the first book in the series. Mica has had a hard life. After her mother dies she is subjected to emotional, physical and sexual abuse at the hand of her father. To make matters worse when her father was not around her twin brother physically abused her too. She was raised on a farm where she was talented with working with horses. Out on the circuit she meets a man that picks up where her dad left off. At luck would have it she was helped by a doctor who patched her up after one of her boyfriend’s beatings. Moving to Chicago to escape her abusive life where she begins a new life. After completing college and having a successful business she buys a house next the national president of a motorcycle club. Mason is instantly smitten with his shy neighbor. He embarks on trying to help the girl next door who he has decided to protect by making her princess of the club. Mica’s journey is one of trying to get over her past while trying to build a future with Daniel a hockey player she meets is a problem. Mason is in love with Mica, Daniel is in love with Mica. Mason thinks Mica is better off with Daniel while Mica likes them both. The book is long and a lot happens on between all parties involved plus the past comes back to haunt Mica. Who will Mica choose? I give this book 3 ½ stars.

I really loved this book. It wasn't your typical easy to read romance. It was full of lots of different kinds of love and physical attractions with lots of tough life altering choices to be made. I found myself mentally and emotionally weighing the choices that Mica had to make and wavering back and forth like I felt she was. I was hooked from the beginning and as each character was introduced I was invested in all if them. (I am excited to know that the author is moving on with the stories of the other characters that I loved) The sex and intimacy was passionate and intense. It was even better because it was believable and realistic. This is a great steamy, exciting, romance read!

Awesome!!!!!

I usually doesn't read new author book unless it's an exchange with another reader. I accidentally stumble onto this one and it's awesome. This author captured every emotions that could be provided between each character. The writing is unique and flows gracefully into the lives of Mason and Mica which reveal the tragic and horrific events that occurred. The book started out slow but was worth the read. The love that Mason felt in his heart for Mica was dynamic yet profound as well. Great job to this author and I will be looking forward to reading another one.

As much as I loved this book, I will admit it was hard to finish for me. Once I realised that Mica would not end up with Mason it was a fight to pick up and finish because it felt so wrong. I am glad that I finally pulled up my big girl panties and finished though, this story had taking me on a epic journey of feeling happy, sad, horrified and laughing again. It made me cry and smile. The only down side to the story was that Mica and Mason didn't end up together ( Daniel is a nice character but just felt like he was to easy for Mica, like she would walk all over him in a relationship).

This is a re read and the rating is still the same. Mason is still my fav in this one. There is a lot going on in this one and we get just an intro to what RWMC is and some of its characters. What Mica went through as a kid and also as an adult is beyond horrible. She is still hard to take at times throughout this book. I understand her reasoning for some of her decisions but they are still wrong imo. Daniel is still not my fav character. Bottom line Daniel and Mica are better suited for each other but I still hurt for Mason - he deserves the best.
