Two years ago I and my friend decided to do some volunteering – use our photography skills for a non-profit organization. Luckily for us, Canistherapy aid center (Kaniterapijos pagalbos centras) in our hometown Kaunas gladly accepted our offer to document the happiness and relief that well trained canistherapy dogs with their owners bring to various senior foster homes, children hospitals, and care centers. Initially, we did not have any thoughts on how it could affect us, but with each visit, it filled our hearts with pure and happy emotions watching dogs stealing smiles from the quietest characters. And then we understood that we had to document those perfect moments when wiggling tails, happy faces and hands gently sinking into the soft puppy fur chased all worries and loneliness away.
