5.0 out of 5 stars. Very niceVerified Buyer Reviewed by SUPer from Steamboat Springs on Friday, September 29, 2017Love the weight, fit, and feel of this jacket. Not as loud and crunchy as other technical shells I have had. Haven't gotten wet in it and the breathability is off the charts. Bought for backpacking and as a shell for snow riding. 5'8" 150# got a medium to have the ability to layer under for snow. Could have used a small if I was only using for backpacking.

1.0 out of 5 stars. Good at first in snow, then waterlogged in 15 minutes in rainReviewed by GanjaSquatch from Whistler, BC on Thursday, March 30, 2017I wore this jack in the rain/snow at first and now after a year and a half the waterproofing has hit the fan. The zippers never really blocked water so on high peaks or in strong winds and rain water will for sure sneak into the zippers and get everything wet.
I just realized how bad the water proofing actually was a couple days ago when I was walking in the rain for 20 minutes and my new I-phone and gps got waterlogged and all my gear was starting to get wet. My friends were still dry in their equipment and their electronic devices were fine. Just be careful, those pockets in the front can let in lots of moisture. -

5.0 out of 5 stars. It's blueVerified Buyer Reviewed by Hifu from OBX on Monday, June 13, 2016Nice jacket, no rain here but appears to be made very well. My old jacket lasted 15 years and this one is of better quality I feel. Sleeves were a bit long for me, I'm 5' 10" , 160 lbs and 65 yrs too old.

3.0 out of 5 stars. Very Good with FlawsReviewed by The Sanity Cruzer from Santa Cruz, CA on Sunday, February 7, 2016I am 5'8", 174 lbs, sort of thick in the upper body. I'm comparing this to the Arcteryx Alpha SV which I lost (stolen?) and that was my favorite rain jacket of all-time. This jacket fit snugly and was TOO TIGHT underneath my armpits. Also, this jacket, amazingly to me, does NOT HAVE pit-zips. There are some side zippers, but not pit-zips for under your arms.
This jacket is cut way differently than the Compulsion by Mtn. Hardwear, which is extra-roomy or tent-like.
The hood adjustments are limited on this jacket. I sent this jacket back because of the tightness underneath my arms. If it was tight in my living room, it would be annoyingly tight once bundled up and hiking on a trail.
The material seems to be of high quality and put together well. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Nice jacketReviewed by Charlie from De on Tuesday, January 19, 2016Overall, I really like this jacket a lot. The design, function, style and performance are all top notch. I have not yet put it threw its paces, but so far I'm really liking it. I will not be using it for its intended purpose, instead it will just be a winter shell for when the weather gets rough. I wear an XL in 99% of mountain hardwear products but went with an XXL to fit over my fleece and down layers. It fits very well with or without layers underneath but is a bit roomy around the waist. Luckly the draw cord hem takes care of that. Not having hand pockets took some getting used too, but the multiple other pockets make up for it. And is sure has ALOT of room in the chest pockets.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great jacket! Had to go one size bigger to fit over puffy down jacket.Verified Buyer Reviewed by Wolfe from UTAH on Wednesday, January 6, 2016Material is a bit on the stiff side, much more of a "shell" than the rain jackets I'm used to, but it looks and feels like it will be durable as well as high quality. Purchased only to use as shell over my puffy down jacket, It is perfect for that, but had to exchange for one size larger for the proper fit. Have not used in rain, but have no doubt it will out perform all other jackets! Sierra did mess up my exchange and shipped the package to an address on the East Coast that I have used in the past. After noticing their error, I called and they re-routed, but the package took much longer to get to me. I wish they would have re-routed the error to themselves and sent me a new package from their warehouse that day.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Mountain Hardwear Seraction Dry.Q® Elite JacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Ohio on Tuesday, December 8, 2015Only used this a few times. Once in downpour and another in good weather. Performed as advertised. I am 6'6" and 215 and bought the xxl because I like a roomier shell for layering. Size and fit are perfect. The jacket is loaded with features that will all come in handy in Colorado later this year. I really like the 4 point hood adjustments. My only issue is how in the world did I get such a quality shell at such a great deal.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Awesome fitReviewed by Joseph from New York on Saturday, December 5, 2015I'll start by saying I haven't used this jacket in the elements yet but I thought it necessary to comment on the fit and finish of this jacket.
I'm 6'0" 170lb athletic fit with 35" sleeve length and 31" waist. I got size medium and the fit is perfect. Not bulky at all but also not too tight to restrict movement. In fact I can fit a warm down jacket underneath without any problem. And that's the thing it doesn't look baggy on its own.
The hood is a nice size and sinches up tight. The pit zips are only about 6" long but I don't foresee being too hot in this jacket. There are no hand pockets to save weight and with the option to unzip from the bottom it's not uncomfortable to use your pant pockets if you so choose without having the jacket bunch up.
The cuffs are a nice size and easy to adjust.
The two chest pockets are well..huge! Not sure what they expect us to put in there but hey if you want you could fit a small laptop in each. (rediculous example but true!)
There's two interior mesh pockets (also very large), and a small interior zipper pocket upper left chest to hold a cell phone.
When extending arms up the sleeves don't ride down and when turning your head with the hood on the hood moves with your head.
The Jacket is light and stylish and comfortable to wear with a pack on.
Just gotta take it out in a typhoon now for the full review!
